But they always end up coming short. The luck factor in the tourney format like the UCL is huge. You gotta get the right draw, the squad shouldn't be in an 'off day' and the scheduling of fixtures with league still going on and cup games shouldn't be that hectic. Last year's semis vs Real Madrid, City was kinda in an off day. They couldn't impose themselves and really dominate. And Ancelotti made a couple of changes that changed the texture of the match in their favor then getting a couple of goals in at the final minutes... The pain.
English clubs are already used to having matches every 3 days, or a little less sometimes. And this is valid for almost all clubs, even those that are not in European competitions. And this is valid for almost all clubs, even those that are not in European competitions. Before, I think the fact that Real Madrid had a comfortable lead in the Spanish league, which allowed for better management of the games, was fundamental for them to have a good success in the Champions League last season. Sure they're used to it but they're still at a disadvantage vs the other clubs across Europe because those clubs have less hectic schedules than the EPL clubs. So more rest, fresher layers, higher chance of getting the green W. Even Guardiola and Klopp complained about the tight schedule in the EPL when they first arrived in England. Not to mention the weather during the busiest part of the year. It's fkn cold. Anyway, my matches to watch next week are Inter vs Barca and Sevilla vs Dortmund. How would you guys act on these matches from a betting perspective?

Last Bellator event have had a fair share of underdogs getting the W. Huge underdogs too... I'm pretty sure a lot of parlays were busted. Lol.
I confirm this happens all the time, and I am following Bellator events all the time. Yeah, at every event there's a like a couple of underdogs or maybe three that goes through and wins a bet. But the last event is somewhat unusual especially for a Bellator event. There were like 5 or 6 underdogs that went through and won. That's pretty unusual for a UFC event too if that happens. Overall, MMA markets are the best for finding value in underdogs these days imo. And that's even after the books got sharper through the years.

If you remember what happened with ETC fork, its clear that even though what others could create that would have POW for new fork of eth, the original will always be better and used a lot more. Maybe we are in the bear market right now and can't see it, but the reality is that we are going to end up with something much better in the long run and when the bull run comes we are going to see ETH prices soar for sure. Its just not a good moment for crypto right now, it has nothing to do with just ethereum, bitcoin is low too, and we will see all of them recover eventually. You got it all wrong. First of all Ethereum Classic is the original Ethereum. Ethereum, ETH is the fork. And the reason why Ethereum is better and will be used a lot more by users is because Vitalik and co. are the sort of leaders that the community follow. And so do the exchanges and the founders of the projects that started and were built using Ethereum. Anyway, in hindsight I think 2000 and 1000 is kinda wide. I should've used 1500 and 1000. 500 increments for ETH and 5000 increments for BTC.

I think we all deserve to see a final between PSG and City , right ? This will a true clash between the best team right now but you can never count Real Madrid out even if I doubt they can make it again this year so PSG vs City should be the one. Favorites ? Hard to chose one but I would like a surprise this year.
I think Man City going against PSG would be a one sided affair even with Messi in there. If you want a real clash then going against the current UCL champions which is Real Madrid would be the best match up for Manchester City at the finals imho. And remember, Real Madrid eliminated Guardiola's boys at the semis last year. So they'll surely be raring to go if given the opportunity to play them again. And the match being a finals match...? Goose bumps. Now this is the truth, and it goes back to what I've been saying about City: the all-conquering team with the deepest squad depth, the best points per game ration, best goals per game ratio... and creeping up on European experience. The bookies rate them favourites in every competition, for 4 years running. That's not for nothing. But they always end up coming short. The luck factor in the tourney format like the UCL is huge. Yeah it's boring with UFA and without football, but there was very good Bellator event with Yoel Romero just finsihed, so maybe you can check that. There is also Dana White Contender Series I am watching recently and they are great to watch, Dana is forcing them to show all their skills. I am not specially excited with next UFC event starting this weekend I tune into Bellator events now, and again. I do find them heavily skewed a lot of the time though, and if you check the odds they usually reflect that. I'm much more interested in sport in general when I've put together an accumulator, without it I wouldn't watch nearly as much as I do. Bellator doesn't really make that possible, due to the matchmaking they seem to do. At least with the UFC, there's only the occasional landslide. For example, like the Nate vs Chimaev fight that got cancelled. I wasn't all that interested in that fight due to the matchmaking, but also the odds didn't make it exciting at all. Last Bellator event have had a fair share of underdogs getting the W. Huge underdogs too... I'm pretty sure a lot of parlays were busted. Lol. As for Kevin Holland, you never really know what's going on with him, since he loves to troll the fans, and the fighters he fights. I don't think he'll be retiring, unless he's got a contract for boxing, since I wouldn't have thought he's made enough money in his career to retire just yet, when arguably bigger named fighters than him, with longer careers are complaining about the money they make, and basically being homeless in some cases.
I believe Chimaev claimed that or something along those lines, I know he lived in the gym that he was training at. So, no I don't believe Holland when he says he's retiring. Although, maybe he got a little extra on the side for accepting the fight against Chimaev, and basically keeping the event alive.
Oh.. And here I thought you just made that thought out of the blue. I searched Kevin Holland and he is really giving hints about retiring... Lol. But you're right. And it's also hard to take the guy seriously given his history. He usually kids around a lot so I wouldn't be really surprised if he was just doing it for engagement and the lulz. He prolly got paid some money but I doubt it's as big as what they paid Diaz. At the post fight press conference Diaz says he lost count on how much the UFC paid him. Kevin Holland is not going to retire at any point in the near future. In any case, I do not trust him at all. There is no doubt in my mind that he is an absolute troll and that he is just doing this to get some sentiment out of people. I have to say that Khamzat Chimaev once again came up with a dominating performance. A submission win in the first round. Who is going to be able to stop this guy? I wonder who is going to be able to do that. I also agree with you that Kevin Holland probably did not get paid as much as Diaz did. Anyway, I don't see any reason why Kevin Holland would decide to retire at this point in time. After all, he has had a lot more losses in his career than wins. Regards Duke Not sure what you're looking at but Holland is 23 - 8 in his pro MMA career, 11 - 7 in the UFC. And he's a pretty decent fighter overall even though the wrestling needs a bit of work. Maybe he should accept Chimaev's offer of training with him in his gym at Sweden.

So it is basically official now. Latifi will be not on William the next year.
Will the goat be able to find a new seat?
Nope. Not unless another team needs a pay driver... He will be missed. Lots of good memes were made because of him. Thanks for the laughs Latifi. You make even the most boring races in F1 worth it to watch. I guess the more important question is who gets his seat? If it were up to me, I'd like to see De Vries or Ricciardo.

It looks like we are getting very close to the end of Manchester United's incredible form in the league. Because their next match is going to be against Manchester City in Etihad. There is no way Manchester United stand a chance in this match. Never say never! This is the Premier League, and Manchester United have a more compact defense than Manchester City. Once you block the passes from midfield, it becomes a problem for the City attack. I can't say for sure after the international break, but if they keep up their recent form, they might get a point against Manchester City. Nobody expected them to get a positive result from inform Arsenal when they played them, but they did. Over2.5 goals is a good bet. Chiming in if you don't mind... I haven't considered this before about Arsenal's good run, but the thing is they were up against mid tier and lower tier clubs before they played vs United. Although an argument could be made for their nice win against Fullham, but still... A low tier club that just got promoted. Maybe we shouldn't put too much stock in United's win vs Arsenal? United did win against Liverpool. But Klopp's boys are in a rut so I guess we can't really look into that too. And losing against Brentford 4 - 0 should still make United supporters a tad worried. But yeah, I think the result is gonna be something like 2 - 0 or 3 - 1 for City.

It's also worth noting that Izzy pretty much dominated until getting knocked out. So, while Alex is definitely a good knockout artist, he probably does get beat convincingly without getting that knockout. Obviously, it doesn't matter if he can continue to find that knock out, but I'm not convinced he can.
We are going to see if Izzy has Achilles' heel or not, but he showed weakness not just against Alex Pereira but also in fight with Jan Błachowicz. His game is great but far from perfect and I think that mental condition will be the key in fight against Pereira. As much as I like Adesanya I think that he can be little cocky sometimes and he can pay the price for this. New training video just released on Adesanya youtube channbel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtbrq5L23U8As far as weaknesses go, Adesanya is no match vs Blachowicz. In hind sight because the match was at 205, Adesanya showed that he couldn't bulk up enough to make the full weight... And Blachowicz turned out to be yuuuge. As for Pereira, dunno... He has the power but Adesanya is better technically. Slight lean on Adesanya but from a betting perspective Pereira via KO could be a fun bet. Hopefully it's lined somewhere around 4.50 - 5.00. But surely the books will turn on the juice and line it around 2.50 - 3.00. :/

^ With the build up going into the merge, a lot of those guys at CT were saying that it was somewhat of a 'buy the rumor, sell the news' scenario. Traders took advantage of the news and dumped their coins before the merge even happened. But on the other hand, it could just be ETH like the rest of crypto, just followed what the US stock market was doing. I kinda agree with the latter as there wasn't really much of a strong bid up on ETH before the merge. Everybody was just like... 'Wait and see'.
Anyway, I'm locking the poll as having it open near the end of the month would be pointless.

^ Yup... From the looks of it, it's not looking good right now. And if it does end up closing around the range near 15k, I don't think we could discount that it could close near 12k in the coming months. This sucks. I never thought BTC would go this low and start entertaining the idea that 12k is possible.
... As for the poll, who knows. There's still 10 days left until the month ends. There's always a chance BTC could close above 20k.
But with the new fed rate hike looming, the crypto market has suffered another bleeding in the last 24 hours. And the price currently is below $19k again. Hopefully, we won't get to the levels of $15k as what some voters put in this poll. And if I'm not mistaken, there is a bitcoin future contract expiration near the end of the month? So this could be another factor that could bring the price down again. So who knows, $20k is the support line that we wanted to maintain, unfortunately, this month it's getting harder by the day to go to that price because of so much selling going on because of the negative news. Yeah sucks... Anyway, US session starts in an hour and it looks like it's going to open red again. I was gonna wait til the next month's sentiment thread to ask and make a poll but I couldn't wait... Check this out. You guys think there's a high chance we get another leg down or nah? With all the stuff that's going on, I'd say yes. But then again it's the bottom of the range and it could bounce just like the last time at June... What do you guys think? Edit: Locked the poll.
|
|
|
^ Not everybody expected for the merge to lower the fees. At least not the ones who read and understood what the merge was and what it's going to do. I think a lot of noobs get misinformed because they don't take time to read stuff and really learn what'a going on. That's why we got a lot of clueless people aroind these boards who are prolly repeating the wrong info.
Anyway... As for the market, crypto saw a bit of green before US session opened. But around 1.5 hours into the session, it's taking a little of that green away. Let's see how it goes in 6 hours or so when US sessson closes. :/

^ It's not just about how tired the team is. It's also about the logistics of moving all their stuff from one side of the planet to the other. That's a looong trip. Prolly more than 18 hours. I guess from a betting perspective, it could be a good bet to put some money on the under in 'how many cars will be classified?'. That's gonna be some possible crash galore of a race with all the drivers jet lagged. Lol.

^ And yet he knocked out a solid fighter ranked at the top 5. If he's good enough, he's good enough. And the guys who do all the match making know what they're doing. They can't let a good fighter waste his time fighting lower tier fighters when he's ready to fight the top guys. Whatever anybody says MMA is as close as it gets to real fighting. Western boxing is just a part of MMA's whole. It's a skill set that every MMA fighter needs to learn but it's not the end all and be all of the sport. I used to watch a lot of boxing but once you get into MMA, esp the UFC and know the all fighters from top to bottom, it's just better, more well organized and it's an easy sport to follow overall. And as far as the betting market goes, MMA is waaay better.
You can be a great MMA fighter without top boxing skills, Khabib did great for years before he improved a lot in that area. MMA can be better because it combines other combat sports, but some people don't like wrestling or grappling and find it boring. Spoiled crowd only likes to see blood and KO's but you can't have that all the time. Guys, check out Israel Adesanya's great trailer for fight against Alex Pereira at UFC 281. I can't wait to watch this fight, this has potential to be one of the best comeback stories and best fights of the year 2022. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZaLuDSmklgTrue true... But Khabib made up for that with superb wrestling skills. I never said one has to be an excellent boxer to be great in MMA. It's more complex than that. I'm just saying, boxing is an essential part of MMA. A fighter has to have at least some training in western boxing to at least know what he's going to do with his hands at striking range when he's in the cage.
