2161  Economy / Economics / Re: Why You Should Never Sell Your Bitcoins Ever on: May 06, 2016, 11:02:36 PM
We should not have to sell our coins and have to use bitcoin as a normal currency for any purchase or for any transaction and in that way bitcoin will establish all over the internet and will have a good value with the passage of time.

Agreed. Just spend Bitcoins or save them! Don sell them for cryin' out loud!! They'll be mainstream soon enough. More a more place are accepting bitcoin all the time.
2162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright relents aka Satoshi (air quotes) in Public Apology! on: May 06, 2016, 10:58:48 PM
I still don't understand what was is motivation for this, and I assume he knew this lie would be very short lived...

One good reddit theory was that he was being investigated in Australia for tax evasion since he didn't have proof of a $54 million tax write-off in spending for his company.  So, bitcoin and its anonymous transactions is the perfect cover.

Bitcoin isn't anonymous. What are you talking about? It's pseudonymous. You can track all transactions. That's so clearly not anonymous.

It was obvious from the start he isn't Satoshi. He's clearly got an ulterior motive.
2163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, why do we need to use Bitcoin? on: May 06, 2016, 10:55:18 PM
We don't need to but we chose to because it's a better option than som other worthless currency. It's the ultimate fiat, there are no stupid hunks of metal that are worthless.
2164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What wallets do you use and why? on: May 06, 2016, 10:51:15 PM
I use Mycelium and sometimes Electrum. I find that usually I'm on a smartphone so it's the easiest option most of the time. Never trust an online wallet. They're all centralized crap.
2165  Other / Archival / Re: Giving away .1 BTC. Seriously, no strings attached on: May 03, 2016, 01:18:39 AM
Why not? I don't have much, so this would be absolutely huge for me!

How do i create bitcoin address? what is the cost to purchase it.

use xapo or blockchain to create a free bitcoin wallet.

1: Go to Blockchain.info
2: Go to "Wallet" in Upper Manue
3: Click "Start a New wallet" Blue Button Or "Create My Free Wallet" Green Button,
4: Enter your email address and password and Your wallet is Ready.
5: You can See your Ready Bitcoin Address in down side of page. with this note: "Share This with anyone and they can send your payments"
You are done..

One Suggestion. Don't Switch to new blockchain wallet. Old blockchain wallet is more better then new one.
OMG, Don't please suggest centralized web wallets, he's far better to use standalone clients.

You can create a bitcoin wallet on the blockchain.info don't need much time to create it. I think It is so easy to do. Just follow step by step and do verification with your email.
Read above.

My recommendations are to use Electrum or Bitcoin-Qt/bitcoind.

Finally, someone else that can think things through logically! It's centralized. Bitcoin is not. Why the hell would you add funds to their wallets?!
2167  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: After the halving will bitcoin mining become not viable? on: May 03, 2016, 01:07:07 AM
Instead of mining a block and getting a reward of 25 btc the miners will instead get 12.5btc. In another 4 years it's 6.25btc per block. The price will (most likely) go up but it probably won't double just because of the halving. After all, there are already 15+ million Bitcoins in existence (minus any that were lost)

My here you go:

Reasons not to use this terrible wallet (in case being an online wallet where you don't have control of your private keys wasn't enough):

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=277595.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303726.0

...

First, you are misinformed. Blockchain.info does not have access to your wallet and you do have control of your private keys.

Second, most of the links you provided all relate to a bug in the blockchain.info wallet that caused the R value to be reused. That bug is a legitimate reason to criticize blockchain.info, but keep in mind that the bug was fixed and no wallet is immune to bugs.

Finally, the losses in all of the other links were the result of visiting a phishing site or downloading a virus. Something that blockchain.info cannot be criticized for.

I'm calling bullshit on that. When I started w/ Bitcoins and some tool suggested I use that crappy wallet I lost 0.05BTC. I had every safety precaution and didn't/don't have a virus/malware. How do I know? 100s of scans later and 3 other wallets (never online of course. I'm not that stupid) and i've never had a loss again. So I had 2FA, no one had access to my computer, I didn't have malware. No one 'phished' the information out of me and that leaves blockchain.info to blame. Of course their stupid generic email was sent out and once this was all explained I was ignored. Crappy app, crappy customer service and crappy security = crappy wallet. Don't use it. Why bother? There are literally 100s of better options.

Step 6. Cry when you lose all your coins from this crappy online wallet. Don't use blockchain.info. When you set up an email address do you have access to the password? Pretty obvious answer is yes. Well with blockchain.info, THEY have access to your private key (aka: your 'password' for lack of a better term). But they use a simple algorithm that's (apparently) easy to crack and you lose everything. Just Google it. Don't take my word for it.
If then, why I never lose my coins? I have use blockchain.info wallet for a year and it is not "crappy" as I can use it my Bitcoin wallet.

Lol. Maybe they only steal coins from people that can speak English I guess. Do you give your cash to the guy on the corner and ask him to hold it or would you put it in a bank? One you have control of and the other you don't.

Terrible logic btw.

Omg guys! I didn't just die when I got electrocuted, so according to that logic I must be invincible!

don't spread FUD about something you don't understand. do some research about blockchain.info and how they are handling things and how they are storing the wallet file on their servers, then also go on github and check out their source code to double check things and then say they have you private keys (they don't)

i am not saying using blockhain.info wallet is safe or wise for a lot of other reasons but what you are saying (bold part) is just FUD spam.

How about just the results from Bitcointalk.org. Oh 5 pages from Bitcointalk.org. Nice. I see why you'd want to use the worst wallet in the history of Bitcoin.

Come on man. Get your head out of your ass. There's FUD and then there's common sense. Are you one of their paid shills?

*Everything is fine fellers, just keep putting your money in Blockchain.info... What's the worse that could happen*

Aaaand it's gone.

I think blockchain.info wallet is safe. People lost bitcoin on blockchain.info because they using unsafe methods to access their wallet. I still have my wallet there.

blockchain.info was hacked.

who said that is it safe? it is not safe. Smiley

2170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (Flame On) Evidence that Bitcoin is an amazing new type of sustainable 'Ponzi'! on: May 01, 2016, 03:12:05 AM
I think you need to look up the basic word first.

"A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation where the operator, an individual or organization, pays returns to its investors from new capital paid to the operators by new investors, rather than from profit earned through legitimate sources. Operators of Ponzi schemes usually entice new investors by offering higher returns than other investments, in the form of short-term returns that are either abnormally high or unusually consistent."

There is no fraudulent investment here. Mining takes electricity, effort and hardware. That means it takes money to create Bitcoins.

There is no organization. It's open source.

There are no returns being paid. 1BTC is one BTC.

Bitcoin is more like a start-up company than a ponzi.

Where is that post from? Was it on the digital goods thread where he bought the account from?

It was a PM. Guess I'd better take screenshots.

Edit: added screenie...

DeathProxyX bought legendary account Justin00.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1450546.new#new

Account was up for sale (see trust)

Hallo, i'm death proxy. I bought this Legendary account with profit of last week. See My result following my signature and then say me if you are interested in my service. (30% refund too) .

I'm trying to follow the logic on this one...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=527420

I don't know if red trust was resolved, because i bought this account from previous user with the hope to gain some green trust by my work. I hope you could trust me. tell me more about you trading experience and your expectation ( in terms of profit, day, kind of asset) , i'll make an investment proposal for you!

He's now trying to buy:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1447461.msg14640706#msg14640706

And

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1445177.msg14641946#msg14641946
I believe this is Justin00's account
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=55432

Because of this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1431384.msg14480007#msg14480007
He is trying to sell his account... while on his own account. I guess he missed the memo that that was a stupid thing to do when trying to sell an account durp.

2175  Economy / Goods / Re: PexPeppers Hot Sauces, Jellies, and More! on: April 30, 2016, 12:23:27 AM
Do you have ghost pepper or California Reaper seeds/peppers/seeds for sale? I see them all over but it's hard to find someone that accepts BTC. I'm looking to burn the crap out of my entire face if possible Smiley

seeds no, and i think you mean carolina reaper. I will have fresh ones for sale in july/august seeing as I am in Pennsylvania, My hot sauces are exactly what the doctor ordered though.

Whoops, good old auto-correct. Yes I meant Carolina Reaper. I'll have to follow up with you later then! I've got a lot of Ghost peppers but I need something hotter.
2176  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is IMMORTAL... on: April 30, 2016, 12:00:07 AM
Bitcoin is proving to be extremely strong, practically "immune to death". If you look at Bitcoin Obituaries, people among the most influential and powerful in the world (let JPMorgan CEO be one example) have been unsuccessfully trying to bring it down. Even Hearn tried to destroy it and, despite all the incredibly negative promotion worldwide, Bitcoin's price went down a little only to (slowly) get back. If not even one of its creators was able to kill it, who will?

Nothing can kill bitcoin, but it could be worthless one day or not worth as much as it is now. It'll always be around as long as people keep nodes running!
2177  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] Price of Bitcoin 1 year from now on: April 29, 2016, 11:55:54 PM
April 2017, I'm guessing 1050. It'll be about $550 after halving I'm guessing. We'll see what happens!! Maybe Bitcoins will go extinct Wink
2178  Economy / Economics / Re: Who Gets the Blame for the Slowing Economy? on: April 29, 2016, 11:48:23 PM
It's that go'erment at it again I tells ya. Sound the alarm, call in the troops.. it's time for another recession.

Anyways, just don't invest heavily in equities for the next while. Woop dee doo. You're good to go now. Want some market exposure? Stay with blue chips. They're always a good pick (or 'good enough').
2179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did anyone buy some cheap Bitcoins on this flash dip? on: April 29, 2016, 11:43:39 PM
Lol ~.^ what?

This clearly wasn't a 'flash crash' it was a tiny readjustment from days before. It's not falling from the sky for crying out loud.
2180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No normal altcoins for free? on: April 29, 2016, 09:34:35 PM
I guess good altcoins is not for free. All free altcoins is cheap whos devs gives us and never hit high prices but more expensive altcoins like dash, ethereum, litecoin never gives for free, they need to buy with real money. Thats right?

"There's no such thing as a free lunch"

I you're getting free altcoins it's because they're a shitcoin. Which 99% of alts are anyways. No the top 10/20 won't be giving out free money.
