2181  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-02-10 MASTERCARD to allow payments in Crypto on: February 11, 2021, 12:35:51 PM
This was expected. PayPal started it, and now the other payment processors will follow. What we need is a single trigger and the rest of the batch will follow. Everyone has seen how PayPal benefitted from the decision to allow Bitcoin in their platform. It was beneficial for them, in terms of number of users and revenue. The same is going to happen with Tesla adoption as well. Tesla has started it, and large number of corporations are going to follow suit.
2182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla buys $1.5 billion in Bitcoin on: February 11, 2021, 12:13:46 PM
There's now an unconfirmed rumors that apple following the footsteps of Tesla and they are investing in bitcoin also.
This rumors sad that apple is putting or put 5Billion USD in bitcoin and it's likely that apple will be joining the cryptocurrency community by creating their own currency.
Seeing that they have the ability to have wallet already in their consumers phones, PCs and laptops and they already have a large consumer base this will be a great news for crypto it's just need to be confirmed.

Apple is the same corporation which banned Bitcoin wallets in iPhone many years ago (2014?). I don't think that they will take a pro-Bitcoin stance anytime soon. Back then, a few of the Bitcoin users actually posted videos of them smashing their iPhones as a protest. During all these years, they have taken a stance against cryptocurrency. And I don't think that their policy is going to change anytime soon.
2183  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla Bought 1.5 Billion in Bitcoin! on: February 11, 2021, 11:10:06 AM
Price increase on bitcoin is mostly due to the number of famous investors trying to get in to bitcoin which have been followed by small time investors to be able for them to get their profit especially those who deals with short term investors. undoubtedly, bitcoin may have a chance to reach the 50k$ mark anytime soon if this uptrend continues especially that the new ATH have reached 48k$. Currently, we may be seeing bitcoin to be stable at the price range of 40-45k$ and I don't even know when the price correction will ever happen.

Even without Tesla, Bitcoin managed to reach $42,000. The bull run from $10,000 to $42,000 was attributed mostly to PayPal adoption of cryptocurrency. Now the news about Tesla is even bigger than that from PayPal and I'm quite surprised that the 50K level is not breached as of yet. I would expect the prices to touch six digits, solely from the investment by Tesla and the surrounding hype.
2184  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Biden raise the federal minimum wage from 7.25 USD per hour to 15 USD? on: February 11, 2021, 07:32:06 AM
Everyone who thinks 15 dollars is "impossible" should realize that if the federal minimum wage kept up with the federal inflation, it should have been 23 dollars right now. Which means every business should be earning enough to pay people 23 dollars per hour, and if they do not offer that and they will "go bankrupt if they pay 23 dollars" that means they didn't increased their prices according to the inflation neither, and that is the wrong part.

We have tens of millions of jobs that corporations pay as minimum as possible, specially working people under 40 hours but do not make them work 10-20 neither, they make them work 39 hours exact so they do not have to give them benefits, and in the end we are talking about is 15 too much. 15 is not too much, 15 is exactly what every business has to pay and the ones that can't should not exist because they are failed business' if the only thing that makes them stay afloat is 7.5 dollars per hour difference, a good business would survive that and even more.

There are jobs where the staff receive tips, for example restaurant waiters. If the $15 per hour minimum wage is made applicable across these sectors, then it will impact very negatively on the business. Also, the main question is whether $15 per hour as minimum wage is fair or not. The question is whether the timing is right. The unemployment rate is at all time high, and this move will just worsen the unemployment crisis in the United States.
2185  Economy / Economics / Re: Loan scam in India allegedly headed by a Chinese Narional on: February 10, 2021, 12:27:43 PM
Thanks for informing us, Let me add something additionally concerning this news, This Chinese man is presently captured and his named was Zhu Wei and its 55 years old and has a place with Jiangxi region. It was Hyderabad police who capture him while he was leaving the country. I am wondering that the Indian government will in general boycott PUBG and TikTokbut still somehow allowed the transaction of 21,000 CR.

LOL.. the Indian government is run by a few illiterate retards, who will go after a bounty hunter who receives $100 for his two months of work, but they don't have the balls to go after the oligarchs and criminals who loot billions of USD. In this case, I believe that the transaction was divided into several smaller amounts, directed into tens of thousands of different bank accounts. Obviously, the Chinese loan sharks turned out to be much more intelligent and smart compared to the illiterates who run the Indian government.
2186  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach $50k by the end of 2021? on: February 10, 2021, 11:57:44 AM
If you look at the price of Bitcoin now that it has touched $ 46k, there is no need to wait for the end of the year to hit $ 50k. In the next few weeks
I believe Bitcoin can cross the $ 50k price tag. But that doesn't mean now is the right time to buy Bitcoin, because there is still a possibility that Bitcoin
will suddenly drop. So it's not safe to buy Bitcoin these days. If you want to buy Bitcoin at least wait for a minimal correction to a price below $ 40k.
But for those who have bought Bitcoin, I recommend sticking to HODL at least until Bitcoin hits a price of $ 50k.

Bitcoin moves very fast, when it moves. Either it remains flat, or it moves by +/- 10% or more in a day. There is nothing in between. So if we are targeting $50,000 level, I assume that we'll reach there by the end of this quarter (Q1 2021) rather than the end of this year. And the immediate target should be $100,000 rather than $50,000, because we are so close to 50K (today the exchange rates hit 48K for a brief period).
2187  Economy / Economics / Re: What are the potential side effects of corporations selling fake crypto? on: February 10, 2021, 10:40:39 AM
If you see how Paypal sells their Crypto service, it seems as if this is part of a scam. Another possibility is that these are only the initial stages of maintenance which are still in progress. As long as no one feels cheated by their services, there is no accurate evidence regarding the fake crypto they are selling. The data is that Paypal users still feel safe and secure with the services provided by Paypal so that's enough so far.

PayPal is one of the most trusted payment processor out there, and it has been in existence since 1998. They operate as per US laws, and therefore the users don't need to worry that someone will take their money and vanish (similar to a lot many small sized exchanges have done in the cryptocurrency sector). The user functionality is limited right now, but I hope they will make full functions available to the users in the near future. For those who use exchanges such as Huobi and Kraken, there should be no issue in using PayPal. The risk involved is the same.
2188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Richest Man in Mexico Updates his Twitter Bio to Include Bitcoin on: February 10, 2021, 10:25:35 AM
When the richest do it, the ones behind follow! Isn't that a joke!? After Elon we have a trend, and maybe now we can understand why after Elon actions we saw the price rise, his friends are following him!

They maybe trying to pump Bitcoin. For those who are having huge Bitcoin holdings, increased exchange rates mean more profits. Elon has clarified that he doesn't own any significant amount of BTC, but that is not the case with Ricardo Salinas Pliego. He will benefit, in case the Bitcoin prices go up. The same goes for us, cryptocurrency users as well. We all benefit when the prices go up.
2189  Economy / Economics / Re: What are the potential side effects of corporations selling fake crypto? on: February 10, 2021, 10:06:55 AM
A few days back, I paid $75 in transaction fee for a total of 5 transactions, which were worth a sum of $750. The fee will go up further, as the number of users are increasing at a tremendous pace. Now this situation is not viable. If I am paying a fee of $15 per transaction today, then tomorrow I can expect the fee to rise to $30. And the day after that, it can be $60. Now this is where third party processors such as BitPay and PayPal comes in. They will allow you to invest in cryptocurrency, minus the fees. Most of the users don't care, because they get the full amount when they sell their cryptocurrency. So personally, I am not against this model.

Afterall, the exchange rates increased from $10,000 to $40,000, solely due to the adoption by PayPal. Everyone is benefiting from the price rise, including the OP. Still if you are not happy, just ignore them and don't use their services. Even I don't have an active PayPal account currently.
2190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: February 10, 2021, 09:42:26 AM
In 2017, India was 105th in the FIFA rankings, in 2020, they are 104th in the FIFA rankings. In 4 years they have advanced only 1 step. In 2018 they were 97th and in 2019 they were 109th. I don't think India will be able to come in the top 100 in the next 2/1 years. I don't see any world-class skilled striker in the India team. They need to practice harder.
FIFA Ranking : https://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/associations/association/ind/men/

India doesn't play enough friendlies in a given year, and therefore these rankings are useless. What matters is whether they are able to qualify for the FIFA and regional tournaments or not. Right now they are not in such a position, but given the improvement in the game I hope they will be able to do that within the next few years. Take the world cup qualification for example. From 2026 onwards, Asian teams stand a greater chance to qualify, because the slots from Asia has been increased from 8 from 4 in 2022. The first target for the Indian team should be to secure World Cup qualification by 2026.
2191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: American election is nothing to do with BTC on: February 10, 2021, 07:29:00 AM
I think these things can have an effect only on the price. Biden passes huge stimulus bill which can increase the inflation. So as a hedge, more investors will buy into btc causing a price increase.

If that is the case, then the primary choice for most investors would be gold. Bitcoin is still regarded as something that is not exactly mainstream (although that perception is changing). From what I can see, the gold prices have remained stable (or decreasing slightly) for the last 6-7 months. So I have to assume that not a lot of people are worried about hyperinflation that results from the stimulus, at least in the immediate term. If there is concern in the market about hyperinflation, then the first sign would be a sharp spike in the gold prices.
2192  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine, is it the end to the deadly corona virus? on: February 10, 2021, 05:37:36 AM
IMO, people started to afraid of covid vaccines more than the covid virus due to its side effects and often the side effects are too severe for someone who doesn't even infected with the virus yet. And some articles posted that few people also died after taking the dosages. Sad

More than 6.5 million vaccine doses administered in India till now (the vaccination program started almost one month back). Not a single case of death being reported as a result of vaccination, from this group. However, they are using the Oxford/AstraZeneca and Bharat Biotech vaccines, and not the Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine. Although the efficacy is lower, the Indian government has gone for the version from AstraZeneca, because it is easier to store and is more affordable.
2193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: February 10, 2021, 05:22:40 AM
Mumbai city at the top of the points table has scored 34 points in 16 matches. On the other hand, third, fourth, and fifth place teams, Goa, Hyderabad and Northeast have scored only 23 points in 16 matches. Sixth-placed Bengaluru has scored just 19 points in 17 matches. Teams need to be more stable. Then the matches will become more competitive. It is boring to see such a one-sided season.

Feels bad about Bengaluru FC and Sunil Chhetri. Never expected that they will fail to find a place in the top-5. Anyway, this may be the last season for Sunil Chhetri. He is already 36 years old and I think that his capability of single-handedly leading his team to victories has waned. This means bad news for the Indian national team as well. Right now there is no one to replace him.
2194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 10, 2021, 05:12:26 AM
Its not fair to ask players to bat for 120 overs when the ball is turning too much so yes they went for a draw but couldn't reach the target since the lead from the first innings was huge to consolidate on the day 5. But India too made some mistakes, which are not choosing the right combination of bowlers because we can't say that we always going to win the toss and came with 3 spinners for that, it is important to have 3 pacers along since they already have Sundar and Aswin who can take 5 wickets and also can score century then what is stopping the selection committee to go for 3 full time pacers.

Going with 3 full-time pacers for a match that is taking place in Chennai? I don't think that they will ever do that. A decade or so ago, India used to play matches in Chennai with just one full-time pacer, and three full-time pacers. And the pitch was hardly offering any support for the pacers. That didn't had an impact on the English bowlers though.. Archer depends more on his pace and bounce to take the wickets, while Anderson is more of a swing bowler than seamer. What India needs now is a pace bowling all rounder.  There are a few such as Shivam Dube and Vijay Shankar, but they are not up to the mark.
2195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0.56% of BTC market cap are now held by public listed companies on: February 09, 2021, 10:46:27 AM
The details from the Bitcoin purchase by Tesla is not known yet. They have only revealed about the total amount that they spent till January 2021. Now there is a catch here. On 31st January 2021, Bitcoin was trading at approx. $33,000 per coin. The prices have increased by almost 50% since then. So I assume that the total worth of BTC held by Tesla right now may be around $2 - $2.5 billion. Still from the list provided by Coingecko, MicroStrategy is holding $3.3 billion worth of BTC right now. So if the assumption is correct, then the recent purchase may place Tesla at the second position.
2196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 09, 2021, 09:56:54 AM
As expected ENG won the match by 226 runs and Joe Root the player of the match and he deserves it. Lot of criticism going on about Indian captain for sure and he lost 4 consecutive tests in a row. There is a 4 day break before they play second 2nd test match, can they make it in the same ground?

If there is criticism against Kohli, then it is perfectly justified. First of all, he should stop his bias and nepotism and leave team selection to those who are assigned the job. And secondly, it may be better for him to concentrate on ODI/T20I captaincy. Captaining test matches requires a cool head, which he clearly lacks. Kohli is good only for dramatics, while his tactics doesn't work most of the time. Ajinkya Rahane did a wonderful job as captain in Australia and I don't know why he was replaced for the series against England.
2197  Economy / Economics / Re: Global Wealth Disparity is going to cause a lot of issues soon on: February 09, 2021, 08:01:12 AM
Rather than complaining about being poor, these people should work hard for a living. I am someone who works for almost 70 hours per week and I find it strange when lazy people complain about their poverty.
No offense but this sounds silly, especially since we are mainly talking about the wealth disparity between the rich and the poor ones that do not have a choice. It is one thing to be lazy and poor and it is another thing to work like a slave (literally) for corporations, earning a living in crappy conditions and having no other choice but to continue this way.

The latter, those who work like slaves for pure survival, are the ones I count - not the lazy part of the society. They are working their asses off earning in one month less than I earn in BTC per week right now. It's unfair, but the gap will only get wider.

The answer lies in your question. How come you are able to earn so much from Bitcoin, while others despite their hard work are able to earn much less? When I started with Bitcoin in 2012, I hardly knew anything about it. Despite that, I tried to enhance my cryptocurrency skills. Within two years, I was earning around BTC2 per month. If the poor want to improve their lives then they need to learn new skills. It is not the responsibility of the rich to teach them these skills. They have to learn it on their own. So the next time when someone complains about low wages, ask him to improve his skill set and then search for a better job.

You don't have a choice, only if you are handicapped or affected by a condition which makes it impossible for you to learn new skills. Other than that, it is just silly excuses to get handouts.
2198  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian currency big problems on: February 09, 2021, 07:44:01 AM
Russia is really difficult country to understand with, but recently they are doing some better things which can bring some good changes because now few are understanding they cannot go with this all Oil and natural gas is surely their main assets, but now they have good changes in Agriculture this can give some better impact to all those want to check how they are doing good in different ways.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agriculture_in_Russia

There is a reason why agriculture is not much developed in Russia despite its huge surface area. Russia spans over 17 million square kilometers, but most of that area is unsuitable for agriculture. The most productive agricultural region is located in the south-western part, in the provinces of Krsnodar, Rostov and Stavropol. But recently this region has faced repeated droughts as a result of climate change. They are trying their luck in the meat industry, which is more suitable for the northern regions of Russia. From what I heard, there is some success, but it may take more than a decade to properly develop that sector.
2199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 09, 2021, 06:43:28 AM
64 overs left in the match and only 4 wickets are in hand, even one wicket goes down from now the match is going to end so for now there is no hope for even getting a draw as a result for this match. Toss is crucial for India to be in this situation but Indian batsmen failed to deliver in their first innings which cost into huge lead even after getting ENG all out for quick runs in their second innings.

IMO, ENG is on the lead in this series with 1-0. Smiley

I agree. For me, this match is essentially over. I don't expect India to last more than 5-6 overs in the second session. Anyway, how can you expect lower order and tail end batsmen such as Ashwin and Ishant to score runs, when top order players such as Pujara and Rahane failed to do so? England leading the series 1-0 at this point. All the best to India for the second match, which will take place at the same venue next week.
2200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 09, 2021, 05:37:43 AM
ROFLMAO..... India in deep $hit right now.. Pant and Sundar gone and Kohli left high and dry at the crease. Now I don't know for how long Ashwin may be able to defend against Anderson and the spinners. But after him, it's a bunch of genuine tailenders - Ishant, Nadeem and Bumrah. Archer must be salivating at the prospect of bowling against them. 69 overs remain in this match, and India is left with 4 wickets. Anderson has got 3 wickets for 7 runs. The amount of reverse swing this guy generate is just insane..... the commentators were calling him as the "sultan of swing" and I'd say that they are absolutely spot on.
