1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wells Fargo: US Bank changes its mind about Bitcoin on: May 24, 2021, 01:41:01 PM
They all changed their minds step by step. There is probably hardly any bank that is not going to offer Bitcoin and Ethereum products to its wealthy clients very soon.

The important point to note here is that these services are only available for the wealthy clients, who can hold on to coins for at least 3-4 years. For the ordinary investors, these options are not available. Perhaps this is a good step taken by Wells Fargo. We have all seen how the inexperienced investors behave when a correction occurs. They dump all of their coins, creating issues for the other investors as well. If the noobs want some Bitcoin, then they can purchase them using a PayPal account. And if they know the basics of cryptocurrency, then they can also opt for a P2P platform to purchase their coins.
1282  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk of Inflation in Economy. on: May 24, 2021, 01:27:59 PM
This is the maximum I would the overall prices rise to..
I live in Europe, some things have gone up in price but some are staying flat, basic food that is produced locally and it's not seasonal is barely changing, I put a 10% just to draw a median. Besides, as I said the rise is temporary, supply chains being broken, in some cases like beef because governments are trying to "protects" their consumers by banning exports and so on and on, the spike in prices is not here to stay indefinitely, as they grow production will ramp up because it's profitable, more production less imbalance.

But at the same time, you can't expect that all those production and distribution chains that have been cut or at least heavily affected for almost a year to resume normal work in a matter of days or weeks.

I have to disagree with you. Not all the assets are impacted by inflation at the same degree. For example, the price of commodities and assets that are plentiful will not go up much even if hyperinflation occurs. And this is applicable to food products, electronics, manufactured goods.etc. On the other hand, goods and services, as well as assets that have a limited supply will go up much more when compared to the first category. I am talking about bullion, skilled labor, collectibles.etc. If people have a lot of spendable money, then the value of these assets may go up by 50% or 100% in a short period.

People use to believe in previous Elon and not this meme promoter kind of Musk, he has deposit all his brilliant ideas on promoting shitcoins rather than focusing more own his on invention, he his confident because he feels there no more genius on the planet earth that's the reason why he is so confident, perhaps before anyone can match up with him may take some time,  but that's not a reason to mess with people's feelings.

He is the world's second richest person and obviously he has a lot of followers. McAfee had a fraction of the followers Musk had and we all saw how he made hundreds of millions of $$$ by manipulating the cryptocurrency market. Now Musk is slowly following the example set by McAfee, by trying to manipulate the market using his social media influence. If he doesn't back off, then he will face the same fate as that of McAfee. And if that happens, then I will be really sad. Because Musk is a very talented person, and he can use that talent for the well being of humanity.
1284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Cricket Match-Fixing Scandal on: May 24, 2021, 01:07:01 PM
During the previous IPL league crores and crores of rupees were seized by the police department in connection to gambling. They tried the best to find, is there is any connection with the cricket players. No connection were found, because these days cricket players are not into these activities after several incidents that have ended players entire cricketing career.

Gambling is illegal in India and that is the reason why these raids happen. And most of the time, it is the small fish who gets caught. Organized match fixing is controlled by the Dawood gang and other organized mafias and the Indian law enforcement can't act against them (partly because they are mostly based in UAE and some of the other countries, and also due to some of the Indian politicians supporting this gang). If someone gets caught, that is purely because they have refused to pay bribes to the cops and the policemen. If the government legalize sports gambling and make it regulated (similar to the western nations), then this criminal involvement will be reduced.
1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More China Craziness - "Cracking done on mining" on: May 24, 2021, 07:42:35 AM
Users need to realize that the news from China was one of the several reasons why the exchange rates went down. It was not the "only" reason. First there was a shocker from Elon Musk, and then there was news about the American authorities preparing a lawsuit against Binance. The news related to Binance rattled a lot of investors, because a number of projects were planning to migrate to the Binance Smart Chain, and at that point of time BNB was the third largest cryptocurrency in terms of market cap.
1286  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Republicans should be put to death. on: May 24, 2021, 07:29:10 AM
It sometimes amazes me how much freedom of speech is allowed on this forum. OP is lucky to be able to express himself like this here, because on most other forums, the thread would have been deleted by now and he would have received a warning at the very least.

This is clear hate speech. If anyone is unclear, just replace the word "Republican" with "black" "Jew" or "homosexual" and you'll see right away.

OP is nothing more than a short-minded imbecile who can only conceive of reality in terms of black and white, without nuance, as befits someone whose half a brain cell provides him with just enough intelligence not to shit himself.

The left wing never believes in the freedom of speech. They believe that anyone who doesn't agree with their stupid ideas need to be eradicated. Take the list of the most brutal dictators in the recorded history and you can see that almost all of them were lefties - Josef Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, Mengistu Haile Mariam, Kim Il Sung.etc.

According to Rudolph Rummel, some 110 million people lost their lives to Communist democide from 1900 to 1987. Now this number includes only direct killings such as massacres and doesn't include indirect deaths such as Holdomor and the great Chinese famine of 1958-61. Stéphane Courtois provides a lower figure of 100 million. Personally I believe that the real number of deaths would be 3 times or 4 times this number, as there is a heavy undercount in death toll from regions such as Tibet, Vietnam and Ethiopia.
1287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodl is not the best option as it seems on: May 24, 2021, 07:03:09 AM
These sort of threads appear whenever a correction occurs. Actually corrections are the biggest proof that long term hold is the best option for the investors. Those who sold their coins during the previous correction phases of 2014-15 and 2018-19 are regretting about their decision, because even now (right in the middle of another correction phase) the price of Bitcoin is manytimes higher than the price during the previous corrections. The current exchange rate is >$35,000. On the other hand, the price during the correction of 2014-15 was $200 per coin, and it was $3,000 per coin during the second major correction of 2018-19.
1288  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is the fastest asset to hit 1 trillion marketcap on: May 24, 2021, 06:47:53 AM
Bitcoin is also the fastest of them all to lose a billion of all those big tech companies, one big FUD and billions could be wiped out of the market. The speed of growth of bitcoin is a double edged sword because of its inherent volatility that could go upwards or downward spiral in a matter of days or hours which is more of a good than bad since we are able to sort of predict what can happen next.

Volatility can be a double edged sword.. but in the long term, it is always beneficial. Even the correction phases have both advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, less serious investors will dump their coins and make their exit whenever the price crashes. And this ensures that the magnitude of such correction phases will be lower in the future. Also, these correction phases have a much more negative impact on the altcoins. If you check the exchange rates, it can be seen that 99% of the altcoins have gone down in value more than that of Bitcoin.
1289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 24, 2021, 06:33:08 AM
Agreed, the allocation is well done. Rather than getting stolen there is more chance of the funds being misused. Domestic cricket is the key platform to make young generation get stronger into cricket. From the amount thats been mentioned, and the situation of domestic cricket players it doesn't look like 90% is benefitting domestic cricket.

Normally the cricket boards devote around 20% to 30% of the total pool for domestic cricket. But in case of Bangladesh, the biggest problem is that they don't have established domestic teams. For so many years, the cricketing structure was based on Dhaka based clubs. BCB has recently attempted to expand cricket to regions outside Dhaka, but the results are not very encouraging. Most of the cricketing facilities are concentrated in Dhaka and it is still difficult for players from other regions to catch the attention of selectors.
1290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 23, 2021, 04:43:09 PM
Sakib Al Hasan has great interest everywhere on the world, so make him happy the way he can. Team BAN are so much dependent on Shakib Al Hasan, they could barely put any significant effort on the field. BAN suppose one of the most improved cricket team over last 4-5 yeas, but BAN only could perform well under the presence those 3-4 senior players in the team. All the time seniors are become lead performer in Bangladesh. Our concern is when will the juniors take the lead role?

In order to produce quality young players, first you need to have a good domestic structure. As of now, the domestic cricket in Bangladesh is a joke. The BCB focuses more on the Dhaka based clubs, rather than investing their money in the outer regions. A complete revamp is needed for the domestic 4-day competition (National Cricket League). One solution would be to increase the number of tours by the Bangladesh A team. But the cricket board has once again failed in this regard.

1292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 23, 2021, 03:53:47 PM
This time Asian countries were much affected by the covid-19. The series should've been rescheduled prior to today's match. Everywhere these issue with results were there. The match is getting close to the end. With more number of spread there is possible chances of the entire series to get called off. Anyhow after long gap Bangladesh is on the urge to make a win against a team in higher position than them.

Both the teams are part of the 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, and are required to play a certain number of ODIs against each other. If they don't play these matches, then they will lose valuable points and that may affect their chances of directly qualifying for the 2023 ODI world cup. And this is more of an issue for Sri Lanka, because they are at the rock bottom of the table now, with negative points. On the other hand Bangladesh is in a very comfortable position, with 4 wins from 7 matches so far.
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 23, 2021, 02:06:50 PM
There will be a complete overhaul in the team when they started the tournament and when they resume the tournament and it will be strange for anyone who placed a bet on tournament winners.

I would say that the Lahore Qalandars remain as the favorites. Rashid Khan has come back to the squad, in the place of Bangladeshi player Shakib al Hasan (earlier Shakib had replaced Rashid). The other two overseas players are unchanged (David Wiese and Travis Head). Right now it looks like LQ have the best team balance among the six franchises. Interestingly, a few UAE players have been included in the squads. Waseem Muhammad will be playing for Multan, and Sultan Ahmed will represent LQ. Since the tournament will be held in Abu Dhabi, these players will be very useful.
1294  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-03-15] [Reuters] India to propose cryptocurrency ban, penalising miners on: May 23, 2021, 01:53:00 PM
A number of banks are now suspending their support for cryptocurrency exchanges.

https://www.firstpost.com/tech/news-analysis/paytm-payments-bank-suspends-support-for-cryptocurrency-exchanges-why-banks-in-india-are-retreating-from-digital-currencies-9641521.html

The latest one to refuse banking service to cryptocurrency users is Paytm Payments Bank. There was a statement from one of the exchanges a few days back, that they will be unable to use (deposit/withdraw) PayTM for transfers. There is not yet any official announcement from the government regarding the ban on banking services. So if the banks are doing this, then they might have received some insider information.
1295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh, market manipulation is finally bad now? on: May 23, 2021, 01:41:09 PM
Bleeding still, when will end nobody knows. Do we need help from musk now hahha, or just to sit and wait recovery.

The best thing to do when the market bleed is to sit back and enjoy the show. If you want, you can use this opportunity to accumulate some cheap coins for yourself. But this is not the time to sell any of your holdings. As we have seen on numerous occasions before, as long as the basics remain strong, the prices will recover (especially when the correction is caused by baseless FUD). At this point, it is difficult to say for how long the impact from China and Elon FUDs will last. Hopefully we'll be back to 50K by next month.
1296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Jumps 22% as Elon Musk Hints at Improving Network’s Transaction Efficie on: May 23, 2021, 01:21:05 PM
LOL.. during the last 10-11 days, Dogecoin has lost almost 43% of its value against the US Dollar. Elon's reckless tweets destroyed the cryptocurrency market, and along with it Dogecoin was also dragged down. The Dogecoin investors will be cursing Elon now. And there is also some FUD coming from China. Similar to what happened with such incidents previously, I don't think that the effect of this FUD will last for more than 2-3 days. So we'll be back to 40-42K within the next few days.
1297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Want Tesla To Accept Doge? on: May 23, 2021, 01:13:28 PM
Whether Tesla want to accept Doge or not is their decision to make. But I hope that if something goes wrong, Elon will take the responsibility rather than passing on the losses to the other shareholders. I don't believe that the shareholders were consulted before his tweets. At least now, the Tesla management should listen to the concern from the minority shareholders and alleviate their apprehensions. First of all, they should specify very clearly whether they have any plans to invest in Doge. And if there is such a plan, then they should specify the exact amount.
1298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Dogecoin reach 1$ soon? on: May 23, 2021, 01:01:17 PM
If Elon Musk can still help him get up with his statements, actions, etc., why can't he do that now? You need to know that without Bitcoin recovery in the crypto market, don't expect more increases in Altcoins, let alone meme coins like Dogecoin.

The simple truth is that Elon Musk has run out of steam. Hardly anyone in the cryptocurrency market takes him seriously anymore. Even if he tweets something about Dogecoin, I don't think that it will be of any help. When he put up the poll on whether Tesla should accept Dogecoin, BTC was trading at $57,000 and Doge was trading at $0.50. And see what he has done. Bitcoin is now trading at $34,000 and Doge at $0.30. I had stated this manytimes before. Altcoins can't exist without Bitcoin. If Bitcoin goes down by 20%, the alts may go down by 30% or 40%. Because they don't have an independent existence without BTC.

The gist is that if Elon was thinking that he can promote Dogecoin by harming Bitcoin, then he was 101% wrong. It just had the completely opposite impact.
1299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dubai's Government and Gambling on: May 23, 2021, 12:51:09 PM
I haven't heard from anybody that went to Morocco for gambling. Friends of mine just went to Morocco for sightseeing and to experience cities like casablanca. But what I did hear from everybody who went there with his girlfriend or wife is that there was atleast one situation where they felt unsafe. I am not sure if I would feel safe gambling larder sums down there. Maybe it just takes a few years to change their imagine. If a country can pull of creating a new casino landscape than go for it. Combing a normal vacation with gambling is awesome.

Women in western dress are not safe in the middle-east and that is applicable to Morocco as well. Outside the major tourist destinations such as Tangier and Casablanca, most of Morocco is very conservative and women in revealing outfits may receive a lot of unwanted attention. And the same issue is present in some of the neighboring countries such as Tunisia and Algeria. But despite these minor hiccups, Morocco remain one of the most preferred tourist destination for the European travellers.
1300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New meme coins 😂😂😂 on: May 23, 2021, 12:41:20 PM
no one can guarantee that it is safe to buy meme coins that can be said to be shitcoin because they are created because of the influence of Elon Musk and the good condition of cryptocurrency, but when there is a dump like what is happening at this time shitcoin becomes worthless and many have lost.

This always happen in the cryptocurrency sector. Whenever a particular coin becomes a success, immediately 10-20 clones will appear in the market. And the noobs and greedy investors will rush to invest in them. Once the promoters are able to make enough profits, they will just vanish, leaving the investors with a few worthless coins that can't be used anywhere. Anyone remember the Trumpcoin from 2016? There was also a Putincoin in 2017. Anyone know what happened to these coins?
