1321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 19, 2021, 11:00:10 AM
@Sithara007 the condition in India should improve if more people can be vaccinated, but if that doesn’t happen then BCCI will have to move the IPL and T20 World Cup out of India. Furthermore even if we consider an hypothetical scenario where T20 World Cup is held in India, then too I don’t see any team pulling out because they’ll not want to risk upsetting BCCI.

This is ridiculous. India has so far completely vaccinated around 3% of the population. And you really think that they will be able to vaccinate everyone in the next 3-4 months? And contrary to what you think, the other boards value the lives of their players. They will pull out of the tournament irrespective of whatever pressure tactics put by the BCCI. The BCCI should care more about resuming the IPL, because Ganguly himself told that if they fail to do that, then the BCCI may suffer losses of around 2,500 crore INR.
1322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should you buy bitcoin right now? on: May 18, 2021, 04:16:37 PM
There is an interesting statistic which I came across recently. Bitcoin has been in existence for more than 12 years and it was first mined in 2009. And anyone who invested in Bitcoin from 2009 January to 2020 December is in profit right now. Only those who invested during a couple of months in 2021 are in loss. So 148 out of 150 months, Bitcoin has given profit for its investors. Now compare this statistic to that from various mainstream investment assets. I am 100% sure that it will be difficult to find an asset with a better percentage.
1323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh, market manipulation is finally bad now? on: May 18, 2021, 02:38:14 PM
It is not the market that is to blame here, but specific people who blindly trust influential figures such as Elon Musk. This means that people still know little about cryptocurrency and how the cryptocurrency market works. We just need to get through this. In the future, this market will no longer react so strongly to such tweets.
As for Elon Musk, I believe that each of us has the right to express our opinions about the cryptocurrency. People will learn more about their idols.

Elon Musk is someone who increased his wealth by 1000x by investing in the right asset at the right time. So it is only natural for large number of people to follow what he is doing. If someone had such a fanbase, I would naturally expect him to behave in a more mature way. But unfortunately Elon Musk is exploiting his followers by changing his stance every now and then. In the end, people need to learn that billionaires such as Elon cares only for himself.

There were news that PSL 2021 will be resumed in Dubai but now there are news that it won't be possible. PCB awaits confirmation from ECB on resuming PSL in UAE. Anyone has any update on the proceedings  Roll Eyes I don't understand what's the issue in resuming the remaining tournament in UAE grounds ?

It is not the PCB which is having issue. The UAE government has banned travelers from Pakistan and the other South Asian countries due to the COVID 19 situation there. If the players can't travel to UAE, then how the tournament can be conducted? If the tournament has to move forward, then the UAE government needs to give a waiver to the Pakistani players, which look very unlikely right now.  So I guess the remainder of PSL 2021 may be cancelled.
1325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fighting the FUD of PoW versus Po(Insert favorite word here)!! on: May 18, 2021, 02:08:54 PM
PoS actually stands for "Piece of Shit" and not "Proof of Stake". Elon Musk, being a PoS himself wants us cryptocurrency users to dump Bitcoin for some shitcoin which he can control. He has realized that it is impossible to manipulate Bitcoin, and that is why he has come up with crazy excuses such as Bitcoin uses too much electricity. Right now, there is not a single altcoin out there, which has the same security benefit as that of Bitcoin. Elon just wants a centralized coin, which he can dictate.

Hehe, first time I head of Piece of Shit and I wouldn't outright call PoS like that you know, I mean ETH 2.0 is moving right into that exact direction, with PoS itself being quite a mature piece of technology right now when it comes to blockchain.

Of course I made myself many mistakes with old POS type coins but the implementation for ETH I hear is very different.

It hasn't worked with other coins, and I don't think that it will work with Ethereum. PoS is a failed technology, which makes the coins more vulnerable to manipulation. For the past two years or so, there have been a lot of hype regarding ETH 2.0. I know it hasn't been implemented fully, but so far what are the changes that it brought? The transaction fee is still high and the vulnerabilities remain. Tell me the name of a single PoS cryptocurrency, which is doing well right now.
1326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dubai's Government and Gambling on: May 18, 2021, 01:53:41 PM
Doesn't matter how strict their religion is, I am sure that there are people in their country that is going to break the rules, one example is how come there are gays in Islam dominated countries even though it warrants death? That's the same for gambling, people will do what they want to do because they have free will of some sort.

Religion should not dictate on personal stuff like sexual orientation. Also, it should be kept out of politics. But increasingly we are seeing religion inserting more and more influence in politics and personal life. And I don't think that this is something good. One reason is that the western religious bodies have now become more of a business than spiritual organizations. In this I need to commend the eastern religions (Hinduism, Buddhism.etc), because they offer a lot of freedom for their followers.
1327  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance hits 43%, alts surging ahead on: May 18, 2021, 10:48:27 AM
once again there is blood on the streets as bitcoin dropped and altcoins started bleeding hard. i saw some coins that got dumped 60% today alone.

the amount of money exiting the altcoin market is ridiculous, i mean we see all these people on bitcointalk and reddit who keep praising certain altcoins and make sure claims about their future (even though the said altcoin is a clear shitcoin) but the very same people dump that altcoin hard the moment they see bitcoin price is changing!
if you believed in that shitcoin then why did you dump it this hard? and why are you buying bitcoin?!

Large scale dumping is going on, but surprisingly the Bitcoin market share hasn't changed. Now the Bitcoin dominance stands at 39.9%, which is the lowest level we ever had in the last 3 years or so. I strongly suspect that if someone is selling their shitcoins, then they are selling it for either fiat cash or stablecoins. Because the fund outflow is not going towards BTC. Among the top coins, only ADA, XRP and DOT have increased their market share during the last few days.
1328  Economy / Economics / Re: Economical Politics by an insane guy is the reason for this crash! on: May 18, 2021, 10:33:10 AM
The point is that this has happened before, and it is Elon Musk; D It is just that Elon Musk has been trolling like this for several times, and in the past he had problems with the regulator about the impact of his statements about Tesla shares and had to resign as chairman of the board of directors and personally pay a fine of $ 20 million. So I wouldn't be surprised if the financial authorities turn their attention to Musk again, this time because of the cryptocurrency market. And of course, you should not hang all the dogs on Musk ( Grin) for the current fall in the price of bitcoin, especially then he clarified his statement, and the market was just waiting for an excuse to adjust and fix profits, but the black business of the tweet was done and the market fell.

This time, the cryptocurrency market will be under the scanner. Elon is the CEO of Tesla Motors, and therefore he is responsible for tweets related to Tesla. On the other hand, he doesn't own any cryptocurrency (either Bitcoin or Dogecoin), so he can't be blamed for all the chaos he unleashed as a result of his tweets recently. The first question that SEC is going to ask is - How is it possible to manipulate the cryptocurrency prices with a few tweets? If such tweets are banned, it goes against the freedom of speech. Also, we can't say with surety that his tweets caused the crash. A lot of people make similar tweets.
1329  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla still an unprofitable automaker on: May 18, 2021, 10:11:59 AM
You don't have to get in a lot of accidents to be able to benefit from the low repair costs of a Toyota. Only 1 will suffice. Even if you don't crash your car ever, it is still not a good idea to get a Tesla but people will choose to learn that by the hard way it seems.

I remember I was hyped af when Elon came up with Model3. TV has that kind of effect on people sadly. They can even sell you their shit if they promote it hard enough. (which is Tesla btw)

OK.. let me summarize Tesla for you:

1. At least 2x more expensive when compared to the gasoline run cars with similar specs
2. Limited range, 300-500 km per charge depending on the model
3. Takes up to 10 hours to charge the EV using a wall connector
4. Repairs are more expensive compared to other cars
5. Battery needs to be replaced every 8 years and it costs around $16,000
1330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shall I HODL DOGE? on: May 18, 2021, 07:30:51 AM
This choice is yours. Do you really trust Elon? Tesla, which had just received payment in bitcoin yesterday, is not now. What do you think elon will say about Dogecoin in the future. It is necessary to act by considering these

I completely agree. Given the fact that Elon is mentally unstable (people are saying that it may be due to Asperger syndrome), I would say that Dogecoin users should not expect him to pump their coin forever. Eventually Elon will come up with his own cryptocurrency, saying that Dogecoin is not scalable or the carbon footprint of Doge is too high. If you have benefited from the recent Doge bull run, then it may be better to sell at least a part of your holdings. Afterall, at current levels Doge is much above the fair valuation.
1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoin would you Buy now and Why? on: May 18, 2021, 07:05:26 AM
For me, fourth generation cryptocurrencies represent the future. Third generation cryptos such as Cardano/IOTA seems to have plateaued, so I would rather focus on the distant future with 4th gen coins. One coin that caught my attention recently was Internet Computer (ICP, Dfinity). It claims to be 4th Gen, with almost instant confirmation of payments, but the technology has a lot of flaws. Most of the others are still in development and we don't know which one will be successful in the future. A few such blockchains that comes to my mind are Hydrus7, Multiversum, Aergo and Insolar.
1332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is Elon Musk's goal with Dogecoin? on: May 18, 2021, 06:52:47 AM
i just saw that elon musk just wanted to get personal profit from trading Dogecoin. no more than that. what he said about doge and Tesla or other tweets in my opinion is only the formulas he created so that people are interested in investing. without it people would not be interested in buying. so be more selective in investing as my advice. do not let you become a victim and get an investment loss

Everyone knows that Elon Musk doesn't directly own any large amounts of cryptocurrency. Even his indirect ownership of cryptocurrency is limited to Bitcoin (which is under the ownership of Tesla). In fact if he was owning large quantities of Dogecoin, he would have been in a lot of trouble, as the SEC is closely monitoring his market manipulation strategy. Ultimately, his intention may be to come up with his own cryptocurrency. That's the hint I get, when I go through all of his recent Tweets.
1333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fully vaccinated individuals now spared of masks in the casinos in Vegas on: May 18, 2021, 06:41:34 AM
In Russia, people are vaccinated against the coronavirus with the Sputnik-V vaccine.

However, there is a problem with the licensing of this vaccine in other countries.  This is largely a political issue.  Humanity is now divided.  The problem of viruses must be fought together, using all the intellectual forces of all states.  I really want to play casino roulette in Vegas.

However, getting an American visa is now very difficult.  At the same time, even if I get a visa, it is not a fact that I will be able to play in a casino in Vegas.  After all, I was vaccinated with the Sputnik-V vaccine.  I may have to get one more vaccine - vaccinate with the American vaccine.

Ordinary people who love gambling suffer from ill-considered political decisions.

Sputnik V was the first registered vaccine against CoVID 19. Unfortunately, the European and American agencies have refused to register this vaccine in their country, purely due to political reasons. Even in India, there was a lot of pressure from the Americans to not to allow Sputnik. However the government ignored the pressure tactics and approved the vaccine a few weeks ago. Right now we can't be selective. If the Americans are providing enough doses of Pfizer and Moderna, then it is OK. Here on one hand they are not allowing any of the Pfizer/Moderna doses to be shipped to the third world, and at the same time they are asking everyone not to use Sputnik.
1334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin has burned 90%, Shiba Inu drops 40% on: May 18, 2021, 06:30:37 AM
Recently he donated $1 billion worth of Shiba Inu for the Indian CoVID relief measures. I am not a big fan of shitcoins such as Shiba Inu. But the truth is that hundreds of shitcoins have now accumulated huge market capitalizations, thanks to the ongoing cryptocurrency bull run. So what is wrong, in case Vitalik uses some of this money for charity purposes? Donating $1 billion is not a joke. People like Warren Buffett and Elon Musk run full-page advertisements whenever they donate 1 or 2 million USD. And the Australian billionaire Gina Rinehart spent millions in advertising her donation of $50 worth of childcare kits to pregnant women a few years back.
1335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ohio offering lottery prize worth one million for those that get the COVID shot on: May 18, 2021, 06:20:38 AM
Maybe they are afraid because they see on the television and newspaper that the vaccine is not fully protected them and only minimizes the chance of getting infected. People who more than 60 years old need to get vaccines because they are more susceptible than younger people. Maybe it needs more education on how the vaccine can work in their body to know and want to get vaccinated. I hope that people in all countries want to get vaccinated, which can help the government work hard to reduce the number of infected people from the virus.

That doesn't make any sense, because 95% protection offered by a vaccine is much better IMO, than 0% percent protection without the vaccine. Here I would even go for a Sinovac vaccine, even if it provides only 50% protection (as I said earlier, 50% > 0%). A lot of propaganda is ongoing in the social media channels against the vaccines. And some of the politicians have also come up against it (example is Jair Bolsonaro). But I don't think that the Americans will believe in this propaganda.
1336  Economy / Economics / Re: Enjoy comunism: Venezuela raises monthly minimum wage to $2.40 on: May 18, 2021, 06:13:53 AM
^^^ Countries such as Sweden and Denmark are not socialist countries. They are capitalist countries (with a large wealth disparity), with socialist principles implemented in some of the sectors such as education and healthcare. I don't even know whether we can call these as "socialist" principles, because providing free education and healthcare to everyone is more like a humanist idea than a socialist policy. Socialism plagiarized some of these principles, so that it would look more appealing for the poor.
1337  Economy / Economics / Re: 🔴 Breaking News - Elon Musk is going to part with all his Bitcoin BTC on: May 17, 2021, 04:19:05 PM
Seriously I am looking forward to the worst that wants to happen even if he dumps/sells all the coins he is holding. I know if he leaves more investors will eventually resurface and life continues. It will definitely affect some people to also sell off their coin because they will fear the price drop rate which eventually may lead to the price drop. For me holding continues and I am patiently waiting for these outcomes.

Let him do that. I don't want people like Elon to hold Bitcoin. Why they should own an asset, which they hate so much? Exchange rates may go down for a few months, but eventually it will go back to the previous levels. We don't need Elon or any other billionaire to make Bitcoin more popular. Even before Elon endorsed it, the user base was growing at 5% to 10% per month. And from what I can see, Elon's involvement has done more harm than good for Bitcoin. I would say that he pushed Bitcoin a couple of years back.
1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The dude makes $50k every day from dogecoin scams on: May 17, 2021, 03:57:09 PM
Honestly these are the kind of scams that give crypto a bad name because people are promised riches and people are quick to put some money into these schemes not knowing its a scam, its unfortunate that people don't understand that there is no such a business that will pay you more than 100% in a short time for doing nothing.

Guys let's invest some time to do some research into such projects selling dreams.

Scams exist everywhere and not just in cryptocurrency sector. The problem with cryptocurrency is that we have huge numbers of new users, who never listen to anyone. The scammers take advantage out of their inexperience and greed, and make them send their hard earned coins on various ponzis and fake projects. Anyone who is new to cryptocurrency should spend a few hours to learn the basic technology and how to avoid scams. A few basic precautions are all that is needed to keep your coins safe from the criminals.
1339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dubai's Government and Gambling on: May 17, 2021, 02:00:36 PM
Illegal casinos can be found in Dubai and some of the other Emirates. But be ready to face the consequences, in case you are using them.

They might already been investigating and planning what to do with the illegal casinos that are popping in Dubai, being a known country with advance technology and tourism it's no doubt that there are businesses who will do illegal things just to make money plus it worsen the condition due to Pandemic that makes them maybe do operations since government is focus on other concerns at these time. Atleast we all know that casino or gambling is illegal there so we can warn people we know there who might get associated with these activities.

I have been to the Emirates once, and there are some de jure illegal sectors that are being tolerated by the authorities. There are illegal casinos and massage parlors in some areas, and the authorities don't usually take any legal action against them (unless someone gets robbed or killed). These businesses are mostly concentrated in areas populated by the expats and the cops are not very bothered about them. But if you are really unlucky, then you may get arrested for visiting these illegal businesses.
1340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fully vaccinated individuals now spared of masks in the casinos in Vegas on: May 17, 2021, 01:27:14 PM
That is pretty cool. It is time we move on and get rid of the masks again after we are vaccinated. In my country we still to wear a masks every, even if we are fully vaccinated. The only thing that we don't need anymore is doing the annoying corona tests. The problem I see if we don't get vaccinated is that a lot of places might open up again to people without masks as long as we are vaccinated. So in the long term we might suffer from not getting the vaccines. Also don't forget the masks is not really protecting us that much, it is more an protection for other people.

Seriously? What sort of attitude is this?

Dude, if you are being told to wear masks, then it is for your own safety and not just for the safety of others around you. Even if you get fully vaccinated (i.e two doses), there is a considerable chance that you will still get infected. The chances are low, but definitely not zero. I would advise everyone, irrespective of whether they are vaccinated or not, to wear masks for the remainder of this year. Don't be a health hazard for those who come into contact with you and act responsibly.
