1201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Binance too big to fail? on: June 01, 2021, 01:40:17 PM
The biggest issue for Binance is not the competitors or the hackers, but the authorities. As we all know, the SEC is gearing up for a lawsuit against Binance. They are not comfortable with the relaxed KYC requirements for the Binance users. So either Binance needs to fall in line and do KYC for all their users, or they will face a heavy financial penalty from the SEC. However, I have a feeling that the SEC wants to go slow against Binance, especially after their recent setbacks in the case against Ripple. Anyway, the Binance management needs to remain prepared.
1202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which best Altcoins to buy & HODL for some months on: June 01, 2021, 01:27:37 PM
Polkadot allows to make cross-chain transactions and connect Polkadot blockchain with Ethereum. That is why it is so popular especially for staking.

Cross chain interoperability and compatibility is much talked about these days. Now the problem with Polkadot is that it is not the only chain which offers such a feature. There are so many competitors around, and DOT needs to compete with all of them. Apart from Polkadot, we have projects such as Cosmos and Wanchain which offers such a feature. In the end, the competition will be won by the project which is the most secure, most popular and the one with the most active developers. A lot will depend on how the developers support this project over the next few years.
1203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB price on: June 01, 2021, 11:22:16 AM
BNB is a strong coin both from its origin background and from its trade volume. After taken BNB in a smart chain system, its value and demand both are increased very much in very few days. So, in my opinion, it can touch or even cross 1000$ price line.

BSC is becoming more popular nowadays and there is no doubt regarding that. But at the same time, the overall market share is still very low. Despite its enhanced security features and low transaction fee, not many projects have made the migration from ETH chain to BSC. It is something that surprises me as well. Why the projects want to use the ERC-20 chain, despite all these deficiencies? One reason I could think about is the decentralized nature of BNB. Binance needs to dissociate from BNB, to give it a more decentralized nature.
1204  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla Bought 1.5 B in Bitcoins on: June 01, 2021, 11:08:56 AM
I think they might have sold some at the high before he begin to tweet about the environment and then now would have started buying again at these prices. Yes, will know in the audit and once financial are released if there is nay change in holding quantity. But definitely he would have not just kept it hold in the falling markets which began because of his tweets.

Elon or Tesla can't do that. Because doing so amounts to insider trading. If the SEC comes to know about this, then we can expect Elon be fined anywhere from 2 times to 10 times the amount involved. So unless he has gone 100% crazy, I don't expect him to do that. All we need to do is to wait for another one and half months to find out whether they have sold any of their coins. It will be clear in their quarterly statement. A few days back Elon tweeted that Tsla hasn't sold any of its coins, and this time I believe him.
1205  Economy / Economics / Re: No new millionaires come from stock market in 2020/2021 on: June 01, 2021, 10:17:36 AM
In my opinion, the above view is wrong because the stock market has witnessed a rapid increase in value in technology stocks during the pandemic such as TESLA, ZOOM, APPLE, GOOGLE and the face mask sector. So there will be people who already own them and get rich from the above stocks.

Yes. OP has posted completely wrong information. For example, TSLA has given 700% returns ever since March 2020. Many of the smaller tech stocks have given anywhere from 5x to 10x returns. The NASDAQ market capitalization increased by more than 100% during the same period, resulting in an increase in wealth to the tune of $1.4 trillion for those who were holding the various stocks. While it is good to promote Bitcoin, it is not necessary to badmouth other sectors, especially if backed up with fake information and propaganda.
1206  Economy / Speculation / Re: Slap yourself if you didn't buy during crash, and slap harder if you... on: June 01, 2021, 07:35:42 AM
If you go by the principle of purchasing cryptocurrency during the dips, then you need to make sure that the prices have bottomed out. Unfortunately, despite the recent correction, I don't think that it has happened. The bitcoin dominance is still at around 42%, which is almost at the same level we had before the correction (40%). Shitcoins such as DOGE and XRP are still having huge market capitalizations. These indications mean that the current phase of correction hasn't covered all of the crypto-assets.
1207  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk of Inflation in Economy. on: June 01, 2021, 07:25:12 AM
The risk of inflation in Economy really affect the whole system specially now that we are in Pandemic situation the government as well as individual are looking for the means to gain income or earn to make a living. Business world are also affected even the small enterprise, that is why those who engage in cryptocurrency world hope to earn and make profit so that it would somehow help them.

The purpose of cryptocurrency is not to create jobs or profits for businesses. But if they use cryptocurrency in the proper way, then ultimately it will result in benefit. IMO, the biggest advantage with cryptocurrency right now is that it can act as a store of value. Governments around the world are announcing big spending plans and this will ultimately result in extreme inflation. Moving your funds to some asset, that is at least partially protected against inflation will help you to protect your wealth during these difficult times.
1208  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid virus 2021 on: June 01, 2021, 06:23:16 AM
It usually takes a few weeks for the body to develop immunity after vaccination. This means that it is possible for a person to become infected with a virus that causes COVID-19 just before or after vaccination and becomes ill because there is not enough time to protect the vaccine. Vaccines currently in clinical trials in the united states do not allow you to test positive for viral tests.

According to various studies, the immunity kicks in only after two to four weeks after second dose of the vaccine is administered. And this is especially an issue for vaccines such as AstraZeneca, which has 12 to 16 weeks interval between the doses. But that doesn't mean that there will be no impact before this time. As per the researchers, there will be some immunity immediately after the first dose. And this will improve as time passes. Even one dose of the vaccine will be able to prevent the infections 80% of the time.
1209  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is the fastest asset to hit 1 trillion marketcap on: June 01, 2021, 06:13:32 AM
Indeed btc is the fastest growing asset we have in the market, only a decade ago since btc was created and already achieve so much, the mc maybe low compare to what it use to be in few weeks back but knowing how btc is growing fast, in 2 to 3 years to come am sure the market cap will even be much higher, am not worried about this current price and my because I know the best is yet to come, so I hodl.

Ever since Bitcoin was created (2009), Bitcoin has given a positive return for every year until now. If you had purchased your coins anytime from 2009 to 2020, you will be in a profit right now (and that is despite the recent correction, in which the prices went down by 40% to 50%). And what more proof you need to do long term hold? Ultimately Bitcoin is going to make us very very rich (in case you are not rich from your investments in Bitcoin till now). All you need to do is to hold on to your coins for another 5-6 years.
1210  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Republicans should be put to death. on: June 01, 2021, 06:03:17 AM
can you point me to a single post made by BADecker, where he advocated violence against those who disagreed with him?

Petition to have Fauci of the CDC Executed for Mass Murder, and...

These sort of posts are wrong, irrespective of who ever makes them. I am not active in the Politics subforum nowadays, and might have missed this post. There can be no justification to incitement of violence, no matter which side of the political spectrum makes them. Whenever some fringe element makes such a threat, the biggest losers are more moderate members of his own political group. For example, the Capitol storming resulted in loss of support for the GOP among swing voters. And similarly when some left-wing nut makes a post like "Republicans should be put to death", it will result in moderate voters leaving the Democrat party.
1211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fully vaccinated individuals now spared of masks in the casinos in Vegas on: June 01, 2021, 05:53:20 AM
No one knows for sure when this pandemic will end. Because even though some people have been vaccinated, the fact is that there are still new variants of the virus in the field, so vaccination is still not fully effective and still needs to be developed. If you look at some of the news, there are at least some people who died after receiving the vaccine and thus, there is no reason not to wear masks in crowds and in related casinos in Vegas. Hopefully the government there will be more aware of this Covid-19 problem, because this pandemic is not over yet.

Don't spread fake news. How many people have died after receiving the vaccine? People die all the time, and unless you can prove that their deaths are directly connected to the administration of vaccine, you should stay away from posting such news. Vaccination has saved millions of lives till now. Many more could have been saved, but they refused to take the vaccine as a result of the constant propagation of fake news in social media. Those who propagate such news have their own intentions, but it is important to save lives and ignore this propaganda.
1212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: June 01, 2021, 05:42:17 AM
The situation is unlikely to return to normal this year. And it is like a dream to hope that all the population of India will be vaccinated. I don't think the Indian government will be able to do that in the next 5 years. If the situation is somewhat normal, maybe BCCI may decide to host IPL again. The situation in India will not be completely normal in the next few years either, because their people are not aware.

With 4% of the population completely vaccinated in the first 5 months of this year, how can we expect the remaining 96% to be vaccinated in the next 7 months? And anyone familiar with the red tape and bureaucracy in India knows that it is an uphill task. Even if the vaccines are available, there will be delays due to bureaucracy. On top of that, large numbers are reluctant to get the vaccines due to propaganda in the social media. Forget about the World Cup. I don't even think that India will be hosting the next year's IPL.
1213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Dogecoin reach 1$ soon? on: May 31, 2021, 06:17:08 PM
$ 1 for Dogecoin is currently still very likely, it is very clear that Doge's price has increased by 100x,
and that is completely unexpected, Doge has risen so many people regret selling it at a low price, yes this is a cryptocurrency,
anything can happen, $ 1 to doge? yeahh i'm sure next time will be achieved

No one should regret selling Dogecoin, because it is a shitcoin. Just because it is overhyped nowadays, it doesn't mean that it is a real cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin or Cardano or Ethereum. In the long term, I don't see any future for Dogecoin. It is a technologically backward coin, without any real life usage. Those who regret selling it now will be relieved, when it becomes dead in a few months time. I am saying this with 100% confidence, because I know that no cryptocurrency can survive just on hype.
1214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Singapore Police Say Crypto-Related Crimes Keep Rising across the Country on: May 31, 2021, 06:07:43 PM
The figure given here ($28 million) is for the three year duration between 2018 and 2020. That is around $9 million per year. They should compare it with the amount stolen every year through debit card cloning and hacking of bank accounts. I am sure that the amount involved is at least 100 times higher.

Let's start by counting cards and bank accounts first, 400k using bitcoin daily and 500 million using cards, let's compare the numbers of addresses with a balance with the numbers of people owning a card! Damn it's like comparing the murder numbers in Antarctica with Orlando!

Bitcoin-related crime will rise as usage will rise, when you will have a few hundred million people using bitcoins daily and for everything just like cards you will see this skyrocketing, and not proportional for the increase in numbers, even worse than that as the new ones that are getting into cryptos are less and less tech-savvy and far more gullible since 99% of them came for the money, not for the technology. People have to acknowledge that one can't have the advantages of Bitcoins, especially the security against confiscation, and not have criminals trying to profit from it, just as anything it will be exploited by somebody, from knives to cars to cough syrup it's the same.

Getting into the ostrich pose and shouting "what about fiat" won't make it go away!

I am not getting in to ostrich pose. I agree with many of your points and it is a concern that a number of criminals are using Bitcoin. However, my problem is that the cops, as well as the mainstream media want to target only Bitcoin and they don't react in a similar way against crimes involving fiat. Also, I have to disagree with you when you claim that the crimes will skyrocket as more and more people start to use Bitcoin. From what I have seen, it has actually gone down a lot. Back in the early days, there was Hidden Wiki, xDedic, Silk Road, Black Death, Armory and all sort of unwanted businesses, which accounted for a large share of the Bitcoin transactions. Their share have gone down by a lot now. And dark market volumes are declining, despite the expanding user base of Bitcoin.
1215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The next 100x coin after bnb and after eth on: May 31, 2021, 05:57:25 PM
One issue here is that many of the new coins are already overpriced by the time they get listed. When Ethereum had its ICO in 2014, the entire offering was worth just $18 million. Now take the case of one of the new listings - Internet Computer (ICP). At the time of listing, the market cap of this coin was $53 billion. The coin represents a new innovation, but I thought that it was overpriced by a factor of 10x or 20x. And this is the reason why we can't expect the newer coins and tokens to give astounding profits as some of the projects in 2016 and 2017 returned.
1216  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Republicans should be put to death. on: May 31, 2021, 05:47:19 PM
Please no. One BADecker nutjob is more than enough to thoroughly contaminate these boards with retarded, laughable, lunacy link logic.

Not a big fan of BADecker here. In fact I had fights with him multiple times over some of the issues such as vaccination and capitol storming. All that said, can you point me to a single post made by BADecker, where he advocated violence against those who disagreed with him? Users (including me) have showered him with the choicest expletives over the last 8 years, and still I can't remember a single instance in which he made a threat of physical violence. Please correct me in case I am wrong.
1217  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have a relatives who ask advise to invest, what should I do? on: May 31, 2021, 05:37:14 PM
Well... this is a dilemma that I have faced before. Back in 2012 and 2013, I tried to convince some of my friends to make investment in cryptocurrency. Some of them ridiculed me, while some others accused me of promoting Ponzis. A few of them came back to me in 2014, and asked my advice to invest in Bitcoin. Fortunately, I refused to help them. And within a few weeks, Mt Gox closed down and the prices collapsed. And the same happened in 2017 as well. This time a larger number of friends were asking me for advice. The same cycle followed. I don't know whether they made their investment or not, but the exchange rates crashed after a few weeks.
1218  Economy / Economics / Re: We exited the bear market earler than expected on: May 31, 2021, 05:27:12 PM
It is too early to say that we have emerged from a short bear market. The bitcoin price is still jumping a lot. So, when I entered the CoinMarketCap table this morning, the price of bitcoin was $ 34,502, now it is $ 37,030, tomorrow everything can happen again. It is difficult to determine in which direction the bitcoin price will move. It is even possible that at these prices we can get stuck for the whole summer. However, in any case, in the fall, I expect the next period of the bull market with new price records.

This time the correction is going to last a few weeks at least, IMO. Last week also we had the prices jumping from $31,000 to $40,000, only to end up again at $33,000. But I don't understand why experienced users are bothered about these fluctuations. Look at the long term picture and check the YoY prices. If you want to compare the exchange rates for May 2021, then compare it with the prices we had in May 2020 (and not with the prices in April 2021). This is the strategy a lot of intelligent traders use in stock market.
1219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do if you were new to Bitcoin and given £10 Bitcoin For Free on: May 31, 2021, 05:17:28 PM
This thread caught my attention unintentionally.. I still remember the time when I first registered as a member to this forum (that was back in 2012). Back then, there were a lot of give-away threads, where experienced users would simply donate BTC0.01 or BTC0.005 to the new members. Back then BTC0.01 was worth around $0.05. But the same coins will be worth $360 now. So you can compare what would have happened, if you used those coins in each of the six options listed by the OP.

Some of the users might get irritated at me for posting these old stories again and again.. but I can't help. Bitcoin completely changed my life. I am still nostalgic about the time when I first joined this forum and made my first posts.
1220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Gas Fees Drop on: May 31, 2021, 05:06:24 PM
Why don't you take the moving average for 2-weeks or 1 month, rather than quoting the fee level from the past two days? As we all know, transaction fee can vary a lot with different cryptocurrencies. Even with Bitcoin, a few days back we had average fee of as low as 1 Sat/Byte. But the thing to remember here is that such low levels don't last for long. Users will rush to combine their inputs while the fee is low, and eventually within a couple of days the fee will be back to the previous levels. I would agree with your observations, in case the ETH gas fee remains low for at least the next one week.
