You can't make this shit up...

BIS General Manager Agustin Carstens opined: “You just cannot defy gravity … At some point, you really have to face the music.”

All jokes aside... I have a feeling they are in the middle of executing a plan to try to kill BTC.  It will be fun to see them lose.

Sure you can defy gravity. Has he never been on a plane before?

We need to start making a list of people who should be ridiculed in the future for criticizing Bitcoin with half-baked knowledge.
2622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Not your keys, not your coins" on: June 24, 2022, 02:44:55 AM
I think it is quite ironic that despite the governments flimsy attempts at regulation aka scaring people into obeying their arbitrary rules on how money should work, whenever one of these exchanges that are supposedly bound by the regulation laws goes belly up, there can be almost certainly nothing done to bring your money back to you. And if it someday is returned to you, you will have missed out on the rise in value because you get compensated in fiat.

People need to take NYKNYC more seriously and withdraw from exchanges.
2623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why can't bitcoin be based on something that has value? on: June 24, 2022, 01:32:47 AM
Is Bitcoin really not backed by anything of "value"? Really? So those miners needed for mining Bitcoin are worth nothing? The internet costs nothing? What about the electricity? Is it free too?

Bitcoin is very much backed by diverse sources of "value". Even though those sources are backed by a fiat value as well as production costs and so on. If electricity were to double in price tomorrow, don't you think that this would have an effect on the price of Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is backed by tradition value, but its most valuable property is being the next generation of money. If you can't see that then have fun with your fiat. Im sure scraps of paper with a value which is decided by corrupt and clueless politicians is going to stay around forever...
2624  Economy / Economics / Re: Regulation seem like the only option left on: June 24, 2022, 01:10:50 AM
Will there ever come a time that the government reaction to crypto will be encouraging for the people? Lately the head if international monetary fund Christine lagarde stated that regulatory action from the international community on crypto is inevitable ..what do you think
it's right because government don't have any way of obstructing cryptocurrency or regulate it value, because from what I'm noticing and observing for cryptocurrency government can not give any account of how cryptocurrency started and how the initiation come to passed, so i believed that Bitcoin regulates it value without any support from government and besides government hate cryptocurrency from the beginning

Exactly. The only form of "regulation" that governments have over Bitcoin or any crypto for that matter, is mere scare tactics. Don't do this and that or we will punish you. A lot of people do not understand that even if they knew who was behind the wallets, they would have an impossibly hard time punishing them by financial means. They would have to put everyone in prison. And even then they would not get their hands on their coins.

But lets say we made Bitcoin even more anonymous to the point where businesses could fully hide their transactions, funds, profits and so on. What exactly could the government hope to do? Force people to show them their wallets? They could easily make dummy wallets while hiding the real wallets.
2625  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: June 23, 2022, 09:16:31 PM
Considering the current events in Ukraine and the open aggression from Russia, what are your thoughts on the collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms in support of Ukraine?

We know that 1xBET and 1xBit are owned by Russians. Do you know any more? Could we make a list of all Russian-owned casinos?

I'd love to support an initiative to help Ukraine! I think it would be great if we all raised our voices together and supported it.

If We Boycott Some Russian Gambling Platforms, Nothing Will Happen in Russia In order to do any work, we all have to decide together and do that work. There are a lot of people who are supporting Russia, but they will be the opposition here. All we have to do is work together. Some people can't succeed in any work.If you want to boycott anything in Russia, you have to boycott it all together.
Russians are unique. They have survived most of the wars. They will survive this war as well.
Putin has been judo learner since childhood - he only believes in military solution but one thing is for sure they are very aggressive and they do what they deem right.

I see you drank Putin's PR cool-aid. Vladimir Putin's honorary black belt in Judo has already been taken away at the very start of his genocidal war on Ukraine. In fact, his judo skills are extremely overexaggerated as well as his position in the KGB. A lot of people seem to think he was some kind of badass spy? The truth was he was a middle class pencil pushing buerocrat in a low position who nobody in the KGB thought anything much of. Nobody knew him and nobody was impressed by him in the KGB.

Both his Judo and his time in the KGB have been blown waaay out of proportion.
2626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on transgender only events? on: June 23, 2022, 03:19:57 PM
Transgender women joining sporting events that were originally created for biological women has sparked some debates for some time now. I wouldn't delve into the science of it since I'm not that good about these matters anyway hehe. People argue about their physical advantage over biological women and called for changes like having a different category.

Their call has been answered first by FINA when majority voted for a ban and the creation of an open category for trans women.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-06-20/fina-votes-to-restrict-transgender-swimmers-in-competition/101166220

The rule by FINA was followed by the International Rugby League. More study will be done for a more inclusive policy.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-06-21/international-rugby-league-bans-transgender-women-fina-policy/101169870

I think it will just be a matter of time before other sports organization will follow after them. Will there be a good market for this? I don't know but bookies will probably open a different line for the events exclusive for them. Would you bet if they do?

Obviously the transgender "women" are going to have a massive biological advantage in any physically demanding sports against the biological, real women. So why would I not take the free cake and bet on them? Of course I would. I am sure that there are people so fundamentally woke they would rather lose money than acknowledge reality but I do not belong to that specific group of people. Nor would I ever wish to belong to them.

People's lives in the west have become so comfortable and boring that they are actively seeking problems. And when they do not find them, they make problems up. Problems which never existed and should have never existed.
2627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Effectively Maximize Profits from Online Crypto Casinos on: June 22, 2022, 09:57:56 PM
I found this interesting article. It is mainly for beginners. It provides the proper guidance on how maximize profits from online crypto casinos. Beginners often find it difficult to win money from an online crypto casino often times because they have no strategy in place. The right techniques that gamblers must take cognizance of to make money and keep money from online crypto casinos are highlighted below:

  • Play free spots
  • Make the most out of casino commission benefits
  • Monitor your funds
  • Play the games that you’re skilled at
  • Be aware of your betting patterns.

Do you have any surefire strategies that works for you which is not in the list above?

You can read the article here: https://blog.bc.game/how-can-you-make-money-effectively-from-online-crypto-casinos/

You forgot "do not let your emotions take control of your betting behaviour". Which, really is the most important one of them all, if you ask me. A few seconds of negative emotional betting and you could lose everything. All because you tried to regain your losses with unrealistic, rash and badly thought out betting decisions,

My best strategy would be to walk away once you notice your emotions are getting high over a losing streak or even if you just had a bad day and need to vent. Just remember not to vent using your money.

The part about playing the games you are skilled at can be updated to: "play the games you are skilled at and enjoy playing".

Indeed, that sounds like a good plan. Imagine having 2 JJG's on one single thread. Surely WO can't handle this much stress test.

His posts contain useful substance, that is, if you have the attention span to read through it.

I do try my best but it's too hot and Bitcoin is falling.

And I think that all of us can more or less agree that you are the mindrust for this season.

When Mindrust "mindrusted", he quietly left the WO thread.

But this new troll death_wish just never shuts the fuck up, spewing walls of garbage and nonsense.

Actually I think we may have laughed at him too much. Literally made a meme out of the man. Hopefully not the reason he left. :/
2629  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which crypto sportbooks are VPN friendly on: June 22, 2022, 09:14:23 PM
With what I have noticed, you can access most casinos with VPN, I have accessed https://livecasino.io, Stake and many other casinos with VPN and it works, but if I use it with USA address, it will not be successful in all the gambling sites I have used it, including bet365. This has been what I just noticed, I use service provider IP address frequently for accessing gambling sites and I will not advice you to use VPN either.

There is a difference between using a vpn for accessing an online gambling casino and storing your hard earned money on the same website. Why? Because I doubt they are going to care about every single random newbie account registering and logging on to their site and someone who puts funds on the site. From a legal standpoint, if they hold your funds, they are responsible. And I don't think they will stand by and watch you do whatever you want.

I would not risk it. I think they will see if you use the same account with random IPs everytime.
2630  Economy / Economics / Re: Wheat War I is going to be World War III on: June 22, 2022, 12:22:28 AM
Most of the weapons were sent to Ukraine and became unusable or passed into the hands of the Russian army.

Where did you hear that load of bullcrap? That is not even close to remotely true. Why would the weapons that were sent to Ukraine become unusable? You would think that if the Russians had the weapons then all the fighting would stop with Ukraine's surrender due to not being able to fight back?

Ukraine might not have a chance of winning the war without huge losses but the maps don't lie. Ukraine has become even more tough with all the weapon deliveries. So obviously the weapons are being used by Ukraine, quite successfully.

You should not spread half-baked rumors. They can do great harm.
2631  Economy / Gambling / Re: risk of kyc on crypto casinos ? on: June 21, 2022, 10:09:37 PM
Looking for more crypto casino options, used to play on stake but had kyc asked over,is there any that has absolutely 0% chance of that being asked ?

You may find one that will not ask you KYC, but the reputation of that casino is questionable, reputable casinos that asked for KYC are compliant with their license, they asked this randomly for people who they think are cheating their system and they also ask this for huge winnings and questionable deposits to make sure that you comply to their terms

ps: if you are a winning player (i know its rare or impossible) or won a big jackpot on any crypto casino, i would like some tips if you can,i can pay for your time,my telegram is @ ellieljonzz

There are a lot of tips that you can use it's available on Youtube and articles online but it's never a guarantee that you can win, those huge winners still rely on luck to win you're just wasting your money on tips that will not work 100%.

Any online gambling casino which is dodging laws and regulations concerning how their gambling casino must be run can obviously only be considered dodgy. What if they run away with your money? What if the government takes them down and freezes your funds? There is too much risk involved in non kyc casinos. And even more so if the casino is new and has absolutely no reputation yet whatsoever.

Personally, I do not like KYC. But only because I have a very distrustful nature and do not want to show strangers my official documents.

If bugs were giant, like 2+ meters tall. Would we still be squeamish about eating them? Or would we hold them like farm animals?
2633  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 21, 2022, 07:12:27 PM
OT: Oh look, another WEF conspiracy theory becomes reality.

People already eat snails and sea "bugs" like shrimp. They eat filter feeders like crayfish and mussels, which feed on the dirtiest, nastiest shit ever. Are land bugs that much worse though?
2634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it so hard to win at gambling? on: June 21, 2022, 07:07:18 PM
Gambling is not meant for winning. Its meant for the dopamine/adrenaline rush.

Unfortunately a lot of people fall for the big shiny prizes and gamble their lifes savings away in minutes. Others become emotionally compromised and keep betting and betting, determined to win back their losses.

But mathematics, more accurately, statistical mathematics is not on the side of the gamblers. They are on the side of the casinos. Why? Because the games have been designed that way, so that the probability of making money weighs heavier on the casino's side of the scales.

Don't feel bad if you lose, but keep yourself under control.
2635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are bounty programs or airdrops more profitable to participate in? on: June 20, 2022, 10:39:46 PM
Can you make more money participating in bounties or airdrops? I made the most money doing airdops so far, like the one from Uniswap, but long term, I think bounties like the one from candlelabsdotorg will pay off better. What do you think? Which of these methods of earning free crypto should I pursue?

It really depends. You should always do a minimum amount of research before you invest your precious life's time on some project. A lot of people think they are getting it tokens for free just because they do not have to invest money.

At the end 9/10 projects never even make it and the tokens stay worthless.

But I have earned a decent amount for translation bounty jobs, for example. I had to research the project and if it was worth wasting time on. But really? In reality you still make more or less the same amount of money you would have if it was the same job but paid in fiat or Bitcoin.

I got tired after a while and stopped. Its easier taking jobs where you get paid money, not something that MIGHT become money.
2636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NFT's hype over? on: June 20, 2022, 09:01:18 PM
It's just low for now probably because of the market situation. I think it will boom again, am looking to seeing if some more features that will increase utility will be innovates and added.

Oh it will definitely "boom" again. I just doubt it will have the same "boom" as the first time, now that most people know how worthless NFTs actually are. Why would anyone pay for something that they supposedly own, yet copyright laws do not back it up? I think most people who bought NFTs were just hoping to sell it for a higher price to some poor fool who had no idea what they were doing but had a lot of money.

Newbies will continue to be duped by the NFT craze, hopefully it will die out soon.
2637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk sued for 258 billion USD over alleged Dogecoin pyramid scheme. on: June 20, 2022, 03:30:53 PM
I'm sorry if there's another forum post about this topic. I couldn't find anything about this news, so I'm posting it here.
Elon Musk is about to get sued for alleged Dogecoin pyramid scheme. We all knew that his Dogecoin shilling will come back and bite him in the a$$. Grin
Is dogecoin a pyramid scheme? Is this a rhetorical question? Grin Any doge supporters here?

https://www.reuters.com/legal/transactional/elon-musk-sued-258-billion-over-alleged-dogecoin-pyramid-scheme-2022-06-16/

About time. Elon Musk is an egomaniac Steve Jobs 2.0 with absolutely nothing of worth to support his huge ego. The richer he becomes the more of an egomaniac he turns into. Why anyone adores him is a mystery to me.

Literally everything he does is to stroke his own ego. He is not a scientist and certainly not an inventor. He gets other people to invent half-baked stuff for him and just hypes it up. Dogecoin is just him playing the market for personal gain and fame.

His cars catch fire arbitrarily, his rockets rarely land the way they should, he has already basically scrapped the mars plan and is now concentrating on stroking his massive ego with smaller projects and his space internet (Even though he has to keep sending up satellites because they keep falling out of orbit)

The risk of doing kyc on crypto casinos is pretty much the same as doing it on any other website, not just for online gambling. Although some online gambling websites are sketchier and shadier than others.

There are a few good online gambling websites that do not ask for KYC. But I think if anything were to happen to your funds, good luck proving its your money and nobody elses...

So its a double-edged sword as you see. But I still would not feel comfortable with giving random strangers my private documents.

That being said, this entire thread looks like an attempt to fish out and identify people with large amounts of money. I would not recommend anyone to contact OP on Telegram or anywhere else. There might be a chance you get scammed.
2639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever thought of doing your thesis on Gambling ? on: June 20, 2022, 02:30:13 PM
Not all degree will allow you to make a thesis about gambling stuff especially your degree has nothing to do about it. If you're an IT, economic and law degree, then it's possible you create a thesis about gambling. However it also depends on where you live, if you live in where gambling are prohibited, then your thesis will got auto rejected.

You can make a thesis about literally anything as long as its on topic with what you are studying, even if it is a bit abstract. For example, if you are studying mathematics and statistics, you can easily make a thesis about some niche probabilities of some area of gambling. If you study medicine you can make a thesis about the physical health effects that gamblers can have.

I bet you could even write a thesis on the physics of dice, if you really wanted to be that boring.

But then again, unless its a bachelor thesis, I doubt anyone would spend their time on something so boring when there are better things to write about...

There is ZERO defence to the "crypto" fuckery scam ecosystem. Zero. It's the same shit being created in the fiat trad finance world all over again. It is a blight on the world, and is dragging Bitcoin adoption down. All by design.

I think that once the altcoin anchor weighing down Bitcoin is cut off, which will happen sooner or later, Bitcoin will stand on it's own again and we will see a huge rebound. So to me, the altcoins are just keeping Bitcoin at a cheap price. Which I am thankful for.
