2681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 15, 2022, 03:34:27 PM
I read some interview that Mario Barrios said that he doesn't want an easy fight in his maiden match for the welterweight division so he chooses Thurman as his first fight.

Not sure though if this is true, whether he is the one who offer Thurman a fight or Thurman's camp put the contract first to Barrios. Nevertheless, it might be too much for Barrios to swallow as Thurman is one of the best welterweight we have right now.
2682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 15, 2022, 01:53:22 PM
Golden State Warriors finally won a game. They had a really difficult game against Chicago Bulls last night. I was expecting a close result and it was really hard to predict which side could have been the winner too. Because Bulls also are one of the sensational teams of this season. But here in this game, Warriors were so determined to win that they obliterated Bulls by 138-96. Klay Thompson was rested. Stephen Curry didn't have a fascinating performance also. But thanks to a great team play, they still got a comfortable win.

It was a bit awkward tho that they had to sit Klay because I think they can't afford another lose while testing Klay's present capabilities and doing some adjusting while the playoffs are fast approaching, Steve Kerr made a tough decision knowing that Green isn't around. But eventually that decision led to their win with a huge score difference.
These bench players of the GSW are quite smart and really had some initiatives to dig their own scores and make double figures especially Kuminga who really shines in the game today.

I think Klay could understand the circumstance that they had to sit him and see what could be the effect of it. And indeed they break that slump with a win against the Bulls.

The bench players knows their spot already, even with or without Klay they have to muster everything and help Curry because Green is not around. I thought that Kuminga is also on the injured list, but he played so it was a big plus for GSW.
2683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 15, 2022, 01:12:07 PM
I love Murray as a tennis player but his return to the top of tennis will be very difficult, if not impossible.

Yes, it's difficult to see him challenging for slams again.
He was good in patches last season, and in a one-off match he was capable of playing with the top ranked players. It was just that his body couldn't maintain it, and it seemed like every good victory was followed by a disappointing defeat as his body struggled to play consecutive matches in a short space of time. That is where this week has been encouraging, he's beaten some good players and been able to keep going, round after round.

So he may not challenge for slams again, but he is certainly getting closer to that level, even if it may be impossible to regain it exactly.

Yes, he is already past his prime and I don't see him winning any slams, maybe a couple of small tournaments that he can compete and go to reach quarter-finals the most.

Maybe his body is not really build to take the gruelling tennis tournaments with different surfaces.

And one injury suddenly change the complexion of his career. But it was really good to see him at his prime against the big 3.
2684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stick to altcoins or switch to Bitcoin or stablecoins? on: January 15, 2022, 12:26:59 PM
^^ Perhaps what you meant is a bear market. But yes, that is right, it's a perfect time to accumulate many crypto that time because the price is going to be cheap.

So for me, it's not that bad to have altcoins in your portfolio in this bear market because many of them are going to fall very hard. Maybe even those that are in the 3 digits will go down to 2 if the bear market will be like in 2018.
2685  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to hit $100k? on: January 15, 2022, 12:01:10 PM
They do just go with the flow and its true that people been hoping for $100k but didnt really made out some accumulation while its still cheap which means its pretty useless that way.
You got my point well. Yes that's what I mean, accumulation. At the moment it's hard to say when the $100K price will hit as the market has been on a downturn after ATH. But if we really believe how bitcoin hit ATH before then $100 is possible in the future. Accumulation is expected to provide a commensurate return and in most cases, investing in bitcoin is much more profitable than investing in gold. It's up to who believes in bitcoin or not, but you know what the facts are.

$100K is a long term target for bitcoin, we can't expect it any time soon. For this year 2022 we will still see a decline but a recovery can be expected due to increased adoption. It doesn't matter if $100K won't be reached by 2022, because we still have enough time to accumulation it before $100 becomes a reality.

Yes, and as long as you have the right mind set and really accumulate in a downturn, you will be reward in the future when we hit that 6 digit mark.

But so far we are still far from it and it might take years to accomplished it. So while waiting for that number, we might as well take advantage of the current price and buy as much as we can then. In this way, if we hold and the next bull run happened and we have a lot of bitcoin, then most probably we will get a huge windfall.
2686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: January 15, 2022, 11:25:03 AM
Crawford since he is the number 1 now in their division, then we might see some conflict and this dream match won't happen.

Since 2018, Crawford really eyes a fight with Spence.

With that desire, I think he won't mind as 50/50 even he's the number 1 as long as the fight will be arranged. Crawford needs that fight since that's the only fight he needs to unify all the belts.

Going back to the topic, any information on how much is the split between Ugas and Spence? Or it's not disclosed yet since it's still around 2-3 months for the fight to happen.

Good question, I can't find the figures though, but I will assume that since Spence is the A-side in this fight, it should go on his favour, maybe 60-40 tops and this could be the biggest paycheck for Ugas as maybe in the Manny fight it was 80-20 in favour of Manny since he is a late replacement.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting what will be the exact purse split. Both are champions but then again, Spence has 0 lost and the name fighter between the two.
2687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 14, 2022, 02:32:22 PM
I don't know what happened by the Bucks is leading by a huge margin against the Warriors.
Can the Warriors turn it around as we are already in the 3rd quarter and it is a low scoring game which does not favor them.

Pels also leading the Clippers at the second half. So goodluck to all bettors, we still have another good game, Blazers vs Nuggets.

There's nothing to be surprised by what happened, Warriors are playing against the defending champion, so it's not impossible that the Bucks will dominate and win. Now that the Warriors are in a back to back losses, both with a huge margins, let's see if they'll make the right adjustment in the next game.

Maybe we are expecting that the game will be somewhat close, but then again, Giannis always perform very well against a team that is on top, so another night for him to have a triple double in their homecourt. And again, the Warriors are in back to back losses, for sure they will try to get back in their next game. As for the Pelicans vs Clippers game, LA Clippers is really inconsistent, so it's hard to bet on them even if they are the favourite to win the game.
2688  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Deep before the Raise on: January 14, 2022, 01:48:49 PM
Long time wouldnt be September when it was lower then.    If we went back to July pricing it would at least be significant over about a year but its not especially a big deal to move back to prices seen as recently some weeks ago however sharp it might appear in the moment its not that grand a deal.   Unfortunately people need to balance the gains with the sharp pullbacks as we see now, accounting for both against each other makes it slightly less dramatic.
We're on the weekly average on this latest retraction, if price stays above 42k it still appears like it will be improving rather then declining short term and longer term it has to be said that BTC is positive with its worst performance it went sideways.

Thanks for this info, I thought that we have gone lower on the weekly average so I guess we can say that we are not going to decline a little further and probably hit the lowest low short term.

And once we have a break out run, it could be very well positive movement. No problem with sideways, what's interesting is how it will have a break out run which I believed will happen before the end of the month. A move to $50k will be very much interesting as it might wake up the bulls again.
2689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 14, 2022, 12:51:44 PM
I really don't understand the Lakers...  Dwight Howard has been playing literally at an MVP level this season when he's on the floor, and while he is barely getting any minutes, his impact is obvious.  There must be something going on behind the scenes because I believe Dwight being let go last year is why they didn't make the Finals and now they're talking about trading him!  Absolutely insane.  There has to be stuff going on we aren't seeing.  I know Dwight has been "sus" for quite a while in the league due to various questionable antics, but as a basketball fan I want to see him out there...

https://hoopshype.com/2022/01/13/lakers-assessing-trade-value-of-dwight-howard-deandre-jordan-and-kent-bazemore/
Whoever made this decision do have a brain problem or he is blind.  Cheesy They are always looking at stats and not the impact of each player. The rim is protected well because of Dwight Howard and it gives chills to whoever tries to attack the rim. I don't have any idea if this is a locker room problem or it is just the management who is foolish enough to even trade him.
Frank Vogel is known for his defensive mastery and Dwight is the one that reflects that. I think they are trying to be an offensive team now which I doubt will get a championship. They should remember its not the offense that made them win a championship, it's how Dwight played being bully in the paint.
I am one of the guys that got irritated by what he did during the game but I realized how much of an impact it was after they won.

I think the management is like playing the blame game right now. First it was Rondo they let go, now they are thinking of Dwight. Yeah, it will be an insane decision to trade him and keep Jordan in the line up. And it seems that Dwight has matured enough from his last stint with the Lakers and he has been contributing. And if ever they go on the playoffs, Dwight experience is needed in the paint to bully other big guys who try to go and score in the middle.
2690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether is centralized, is it worth holding on: January 14, 2022, 12:05:52 PM
I thought this is an old story already.

And regarding the question, it is worth holding? just like other stable coins out there, it is not design to be hold for long term. I mean at least in my case I used it to hedge any of my crypto, but that's it. I will withdraw immediately. So obviously it is very centralized and has very shady people from behind as well.
2691  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Forecast by Goldman Sachs on: January 13, 2022, 04:00:20 PM
And we have to understand where there prediction is coming from, perhaps they have a huge clientele of bitcoin investors so it make sense for them to make a sales pitch like this one to somewhat bring more customers for them.

But we all know that 6 digits is doable, it's just a matter of time, it could be this 2022 or the next coming years. If we remains bullish this year then maybe we have a good chance to hit $100k or even more.
2692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 13, 2022, 01:57:18 PM
I think folks should just accept that Lakers are not winning the Championship this season. What the lakers should be doing is playing awesome defense and slowing the game down so they can win in the half court. Lebron's offense for another day is elite and his defense for another day is very bad. And you can't blame him of course, he is playing the right way because he can't give you his energy for defense and then can't be elite offenser. Defense takes away a lot from you, much more from anything in the floor. That's why the bests scorer's aren't good in defense.
Unless...
Trade season is still open, they can change their roster if they like. I believe Austin Reaves is their real future and I won't exchange this guy for anyone.
Just witnessing how he hustled for two consecutive games makes me wonder why they are not giving him more minutes. Let him be a starter, let the phase run thru him with speed and to drag everyone in that Lakers team in his defensive aggressiveness. He is like Covid, contagious. He can easily make the team and the fans go wild with all his hustle plays.
Him and Dwight Howard combined makes a strong defensive line.

It's because there are really a lot of good players in their roster that it's hard to put a rotation.

Dwight Howard is a good example, he has been playing awesome basketball, points, rebounds, block shots, but he is not be given enough time to play. At least bring him to like 30 minutes per game, I think that is good enough for his body at his age. Maybe it was really the coach who is the problem in the Lakers and not the players itself.

If the coach is the problem then he could have been fired already. The management respects him as he brought a championship with the Lakers, so I think he will be given a chance to prove himself and if the Lakers will not succeed, they might trade or acquire other players but the coach will remain unless Lebron will influence the management to fire the coach.

But we all know that sooner or later if the coach can't bring the old glory then he could be fire. Of course we don't want that to happen to Vogel, but maybe the management is really thinking very hard on what to do next specially after the all star break because it is going to be critical for the Lakers to even make the playoffs.

So we will see, I'm sure Lakers fans are also undecided as to who is really to blame to their season this year as in paper they look to be championship level in the beginning.
2693  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC has crossed $43k what's next? on: January 13, 2022, 01:05:07 PM
Right now its hard to know where will Bitcoin is heading with. We've seen it going as low as $40,000 but we've seen that it bounced back immediately showing that many are accumulating at that price. I think we might see Bitcoin going sideways for quite a while (maybe a week or 2) around $40,000-50,000 before we see which direction it will go. Will the bulls prevail or the bear will take over the market Smiley.

What's next for Bitcoin after reaching $43,000? I don't know but seeing good upward movement after the decline from its recent ATH would be good though I'm not expecting too much from it Smiley.

It's been difficult to know for a long time since December at least. This isn't such a sharp bounce either, almost too weak and gradual for me to really think we're out of the frying pan just yet, and certainly not enough to say we're not headed into the fire.

Volumes still meandering, global economic outlook and inflation still not shocking enough (so external pressure is not shifting).

Think it's literally a wait to see if bull or bear tires of this.

Yeah, literally we are still in the middle ground this 2022. The December plunge has still its effects till now although it's good to see the price sharply rebounding to $43k, and I even saw it getting into $44k but it goes down again.

So we have to factor what is the global economic outlook, the Covid-19 effect is still here, many countries are still suffering specially with the new variant, so it's hard to see where the price will go.
2694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 13, 2022, 12:04:29 PM

I'm taking it, it's a decent odds considering Thurman is a decent fighter as well. I can get 1.64 odds from another sportsbook as my account is entitled to a price boost, so that makes it more attractive. Good luck to us who believe in Thurman, hopefully, he will win this fight.

Boosting is another great way to increase your odds, and you are right, Thurman's fans will probably bet for him,

Believing that he still that passion with this sport. That's why he's now back and ready to fight.

I would check that and if I have a spare budget, I will also place some bet for Thurman.

I still believe that he can beat Barrios as he doesn't have to adjust that much,

only needs to prepare with his old routines and start increasing his stamina.

Thurman has never been KO in his career, though he got knocked down by Pacman he continued and he even gets stronger in the later rounds that always result in a victory, unfortunately, he lost via split decision and that was really close. Thurman has power and good stamina, if he stays disciplined after a while of inactivity, then we can assure that he will win here, probably via KO.

And he shows some weaknesses that is his body. Every time he was hit by Manny, he flitches so Barrios will target that body for sure. So it really up to Thurman on how to prepare in this fight. Maybe he will strengthen his abdomen, not sure if there is a training though to do that.

But he will still be the favourite to win in this fight even after a long lay off. Bettors knows that Thurman is the better boxer here and he could win by KO.
2695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 13, 2022, 11:10:23 AM
I also think Medvedev will be ok with these match up's, This is his favourite surface
"hard court" so I really hope there is no upsets for him early on in the tournament.

On the ladies side and back to Raducanu, she has drawn a tough opener against Sloane
Stephens, who can be unpredictable performance wise. Would you bet on Raducanu
on this match? tough call IMO.

Let's see on the Stephens vs Raducanu match, yeah, both are very inconsistent so who knows as this is really a tough call. Maybe it's better to wait and do live betting and see who has the good form that game.

For Medvedev's draw, I do agree, I think he has past that already and I doubt that he can get an axe early and be upset by someone who he has beaten in the past.
2696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting or casino? on: January 13, 2022, 10:31:56 AM
I think by now we have the answers already, and it's sports betting. There is nothing wrong playing Slots or Roulette because it is really fun and enjoyable. But at the end of the day, majority of us here wanted to win some good money and those games are not suited for that because it is a luck based game. At least with sport bettings, who know your enemy and your team and you can beat for or against them based on your own analysis on how the game will turn out or could be influence the outcome let's say that some players are injured specially their star players. Unlike Roulette or Slots that you don't have any influence on the results.
2697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 12, 2022, 06:02:03 PM
But yeah, if Simmons + Harris is traded to Atlanta so be it, Collins has gone to the public that he is not happy with his role right now wit the Hawks so come Jan 15, we will find out if the trade has push through.
Let's wait for that particular time so we will know if Simmons will be move from his current team. He is just a floating employee where he is not doing anything and that's not good for his career. Collins is like in the situation of Leonard before with the Spurs, he is not happy, so he should be move/traded.

He should be traded if he wished to move. It's not healthy if he will play unhappily.

Let's see if how things will work between these two teams, talent wise between Collins and Simmons. Both are 2-way players
not sure about Harris if he's willing to jump or if Sixers will accept that kind of trade, still a rumor till the signing of papers
has been done.

As far as players willing they have no choice unless they have a no trade clause in their contracts.  I don't the the specifics but contracts have to match to unless there are trade exceptions.  Simmons and Harris for John Collins doesn't work.  Think that's giving to much from the sixers side anyway.  Collins is a nice piece but he isn't going to move the needle for sixers if they have to part with Tobias as well.

I think what the Sixers want is for their future, include Tobias Harris in a trade then they are going to clear salary cap for next year and will result for them to acquire another piece, (it was rumoured that they are targeting James Harden next year).

so right now, it doesn't make any sense for them to include Harris for a trade. But it could really works for them in the future.
2698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 12, 2022, 01:16:13 PM
Been trying to avoid comments about Djokovic, but it seems that he is still hugging the limelight and it turns out to be political now.

In any case as I have said before, if he is not taking the jab, then the government of Australia should not issue any exemptions and the Tennis Federation should not allow him to play in the AO. And now it seems the everything is coming, if he indeed falsified his vaccine documents then it speaks how his total personality is. I'm not really sure how his fans can defend him if this is really true.
2699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 12, 2022, 12:11:54 PM
I got the Timberwolves -4.5 @1.90 as my pick, they're currently on a 4 win streak and I expect it to continue as they face a struggling Pelicans team. Even though the Pelicans won against the Warriors recently I wouldn't mind it that much as the Warriors were short-handed during that game. I guess the only reason the odds are this close is due to their decent home record but the last time they've met in New Orleans it ended with the Timberwolves winning by double digits.

Pelicans broke their win streak, Ingram delivered a huge blowout in this game with 33 points. This team is really unpredictable, sometimes they struggle, sometimes they surprise their opponent, better luck next time mate.

Not just them, but the whole basketball is very unpredictable right now.

Although I didn't bet on tonight's game, but if ever I will a might go with the Warriors who losses to the Memphis. And now we also have the Pels breaking the Wolves and Brandon Ingram scoring huge but it was very close game and I thought that the game did go to OT with that high scoring game.

When times like this where there's a lot of unpredictable results, betting on the underdog would make our lives simple, no long analysis, just follow the simple strategy and probably you'll be profitable. Memphis and Pels both underdogs, it's very wise if someone made a parlay bet on the two.

Moving forward for the games tomorrow, we have Bulls vs Nets, which side are you?

The Nets are in a mess right now, while the Bulls is back on winning.

So for me I will go with the Bulls here, they are the favourite ML and -1.5 handicap will be worth it to bet. And another advantage for the Bulls is that it will be in their home court, and we all know that most of the time home court teams perform better. But this is just me, maybe others will have their own opinion and might go with the Nets.

It's not just the homecourt advantage, but the Bulls are in full strength right now with no one reported in injuries list or under the health and safe protocol.

So I agree with either ML or handicap bet at -1.5 for the Bulls. The Nets have lost what? 5 of their last 7 games? But the Bulls, if not for their lost last to Mavericks, they could be still on their own winning streak.

Bitcoin and all the other Altcoins that are now the price of all coins is going to be love.

Maybe they are going to be love because they are so cheap?

All the coins are eating down because the market conditions are so bad now that you can never imagine. It is not possible to get a good position without those who invest. Therefore, we urge all investors that only you can bring the market to the right place.

Well others can predict that it will come this way because we have hit 2x all time high already. And then we have the Omicron variant that takes certain stage. So every financial market has been hit not just crypto. Oh don't worry, we still have a lot of investors in the market, they will re-invest, they are just waiting for the right price (maybe at $30k'ish.)
