Yes, although he made a comeback and get his fans excited, I doubt think that he can bring back the clock. He might be satisfied on entering tournament and see how far he can go or even winning (and losing) against young guys.

I guess though the competitive spirit is still inside of him. Nevertheless, might be in a couple of years he might go and retire.

I think he also enjoys it just too much. Otherwise, why would you keep competing if you know that you can't win anymore against players that you defeated easy on years ago.
He can indeed win the first couple of rounds, even against keep players, but that's about it.

Maybe, he is still enjoying playing against this young players and he wanted to proved that he still has it. However, it's two different things, maybe your mind is telling you to go and play, but if your body is not cooperating because of injuries and you are already way past your prime. Then sooner or later you will have to make that difficult decision just like any other athletes, it's just to retire and no need to push yourself anymore and let this young blood be the next of the generation.
1702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 17, 2022, 01:57:03 AM
Zion's ability to dominate inside is very big especially now that Ingram is very confident already with his shooting and attacking the paint.

If he keeps being healthy, we might see again another player in today's basketball that is dominating the paint. Even though he can shoot 3s, his main offense is coming from the inside. Not just in offense but he is also a good defender under the rim. His presence inside is enough for that specific player not to attempt to attack the rim.

About Brandom Ingram, he's been always acting as the main guy since his Lakers day but sorry to say that he really doesn't have the ability to be the main guy or at least carry a team. He is sometimes on and off too with his performance.

I can't say if he will be as dominating inside or in the paint because there are also a lot of good defenders inside. But the thing with Zion is that he can play outside as well I believed. He can be a threat in 3 point as he can shoot it.

And then he had help with CJ and Ingram. Another option is that he can play post and then pass the ball outside.

I will like to see Zion developed to be a great and elite player, not just known to be power and giving us highlight dunks.

1703  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin may drop to $15k or so but it'll definitely hit $300k+ in coming years on: October 17, 2022, 01:31:16 AM
Lol, the OP is hyping everyone here.

A dropped to $15k this bear market? possible

But a spike to a new all time high in the $300k'ish? so it will be like x5 of our last all time high of more than $60k in 2021? well your guess is as good as mind. But to be honest, isn't it too high for a prediction in the next bull run? $100k might be a good prediction but $200k-$300k might be out of the equation, just saying.
1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Metaverse is the future on: October 16, 2022, 08:57:56 PM
I still think that metaverse is still in its development stage, but there is also one that will rival the metaverse trend, namely web3. web3 is also very promising in the future, just suggesting not only focus on the metaverse trend, but there is a lot of potential that will happen in the future.

Yes it is true, many developers always confirm that the metaverse project is new and complicated so it takes a long test, the good thing now is the trust of many big companies to invest in or finance the metaverse project so that it will be good in the future.

Maybe some of us don't see the potential of the metaverse yet because of the current market situation. But if it will prove its full potential and will develop more of its features in the future, doubters could turn into investors. Metaverse can still have a good future but we can only see it when they survive the bearish season and will continue to stand firm until the market gets back to normal.

It will really take years before we can actually see what Metaverse can really bring not just for crypto enthusiast but even for ordinary person. I mean the VR was the first one, and I would say that it didn't have the adoption that we are all wanted to see. And now they incorporate NFT's and crypto and call it Metaverse. And with the covid virus around, well why not? But since everything is getting back to normal, not sure how Metaverse will take off as people's nature is to communicate with one another directly.

I understand the moves of the Warriors but I can't comprehend the luxury tax situation. Are we to expect that they will really pay almost half billion for taxes? Do Nba franchises really making that much money when they become champions?

As far as I know, the Warriors will probably spend over $500 million in the 23/24 season, including $268 million in taxes. That's really a lot, but I think the Warriors have enough revenue sources to cover such huge expenses. Obviously, tickets aren't the only source of revenue for this team. I'm more than sure the Warriors also make a lot of money from TV, merchandising, advertising, and various partnerships.

Yes, there are other sources of revenue and so I guess they can spend that huge amount just to sign Wiggins and Poole to a huge contract.

And I think they made the right decision for this two, they are part of the core now and so the Warriors should pay them otherwise they will leave for sure just like the rest of their second unit. Although you can't blame them, at least with the Warriors experience, they can bring their talent and obviously good contract from other teams.

Andy Murray lost today in Gijon against Korda 2-1 , Murray was the underdog so it was not shocking that he lost, the American is one of my personal favorite young players, i saw him play a couple of matches before, he is pretty good, he didn't quite blow up but he's still young, i'm pretty sure he can win a big title in the future.
After short break this is the highest reach of Andy Murray reaching Quarter Final. In his previous tournaments he used to end with group stages or by the third round. As age pass, his performance keeps moving downwards. More young players are ready to dominate the tennis world. One amongst them is Korda.

Yeah, I think this is the highest that Andy Murray has reach in a tournament thus far, so it's not that bad however still very tough tournament for him as he lost to a young Korda.

So Korda will be facing Rublev now. I will go with Rublev in this one. I thight Rublev has some confidence but probably this will be extended into 3 sets, I reckon.

Andy Murray is finished and that happened a long time ago. Now he just plays tournaments and if he gets to the quarter finals its a big achievement for him. He goes on the tournament just because those tournaments invite him because he is a large name, but he aint a threat to anyone.

Yes, although he made a comeback and get his fans excited, I doubt think that he can bring back the clock. He might be satisfied on entering tournament and see how far he can go or even winning (and losing) against young guys.

Helenius has a bad game plan against Wilder. He pushes him and try to be the aggressor. But he forget to put his hand to protect his chin.

We all know that the Bronze Bomber still had that power despite him losing the twice to Fury. And with that win, his confidence is back. Usyk could be in the radar for him next. Gonna be a good fight as well but I guess Usyk technical skills will be too much for Wilder, just saying.
1708  Economy / Speculation / Re: some BTC price forecasts based on regressions on: October 15, 2022, 09:10:39 PM
Right now it reminds me of what happened in Nov 2018. We basically got no volatility. Even with the good job report last week, we dumped a little and stocks dumped even more. Bitcoin is basically trading sideways.

The volatility now is going back to 2 year lows. Similar to Nov 2018, where we traded sideways for 2 months and then boom, crazy 50% crash. I predict that we will see something similar here for the month of November. However we don't know whether it'll be up or down. Maybe you can buy some options to play both directions.

Yes, thanks for mentioning that because I also see similar patterns from November 2018.

So we might see the price still going down next year, I know others doesn't want to hear that, but if the pattern holds true and see an imminent crash might be still in the calendar for next year.

Or if there's no crash to like the levels of $10k, we will see another low maybe in the $15k range.
1709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger live Ethereum Gas fee on: October 15, 2022, 08:52:08 PM
What is the cheapest way of me doing this considering I do not own any Eth?

Is my only choice to buy some Eth on Coinbase and trasnfer it to my Ledger?

Not sure if it is worth it may just hold Quant a while longer see if it can reach £200

Yes, you really need to get some Eth in either of the exchanges and put it to your ledger before you can send it out to Binance and sell.

You don't need to buy huge amount of Eth, just enough to keep some in your Ledger because you just don't know, maybe you will have to make another transaction with some of your altcoins in your wallet.

1711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: October 15, 2022, 04:50:59 PM
I'm already assuming that after this Ramirez fight he will push his chance facing Beterviev who knows he might also upset another champ and add more in his belt.

I think there will be no mandatory fight for Bivol if he wins this fight against Ramirez. The unification fight involving him will surely follow next.

Either it is Artur Beterviev as his next opponent if won against Anthony Yarde next year or someone else.

I hope Beterview is now fully healed for his match next year as that was the reason why this month's face-off with Yarde was postponed.

Yes, that's also my concern on Beterviev, he is injured and trying to heal that's why his fight with Yarde is postponed for the meantime. There is no timetable for his return so it might be good or bad for Bivol. What I mean is that if Bivol wins and does not want a Canelo fight then he has to wait for the Beterviev vs Yarde winner. But he don't know when is the fight going to happen since Beterviev didn't have any released date for his return. So everything is hanging on Beterviev's recovery before we can see the unification fight in Light Weight.
1712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 15, 2022, 04:27:16 PM

At least he need a rematch against Ugas and prove if he's have a power to fight against Spence or Crawford, after that there's will be a lot hype if Pacquiao could beat them.

I believe he can match either Spence of Crawford with proper training, but he can start with a rematch against Ugas, I'm pretty sure Ugas would not say no because when he was asked after the fight against Pacman, he was open for a rematch, so Pacman could start on that if he is planning to go off of retirement.

I would stir away from Ugas, if I'm Manny and if he wanted to make a comeback. Just choose someone in the 147 lbs that he can likely beat or will take a dive just to fight money and the money that he is going to earn.

But for a Ugas or Spence/Crawford fight, it will be a suicide for him to have his comeback fight. Those 3 boxers will be too big and powerful for Manny at this point.
1713  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price with a 4 year cycle? on: October 14, 2022, 07:02:15 PM

people always expect the price to be under $15k or hit the $10k floor, but why am I always saying that seems difficult to do considering the price will always be close to the $20k mark, look since yesterday's drop to the $18k floor in a short period of time bitcoin price it's back to near $20k today and it keeps repeating itself every time, whether people will just see it as a coincidence or it's a sign that the $20k price is among the cheapest and will never go below $15k, I hope people didn't miss an opportunity and have taken the opportunity to invest now before the market recovers and won't see below $20k again next year

Bitcoin price fell yesterday because the CPI did not meet expectations but then quickly increased again, like the market is killing long and short.
It can be seen that the 19k-20k resistance area is very difficult to break but this is still not enough to confirm your argument that bitcoin's 4-year cycle is gone. In November we will still face a Fed rate hike, I don't know if bitcoin will hold $19k as it is. When bitcoin crosses $30k and starts a new strong growth, you can confirm your thinking is right, currently although not falling further, bitcoin has also lost 70% of its value. And the market is still not getting better so nothing can be said here.
I'm not disliking the 4 year cycle belief, let alone going against it and arguing with anyone here, just sharing my thoughts that we no longer need to follow the old fashioned way and have to wait 4 years to get another ATH, so I'm just saying that anytime bitcoin can get ATH others without having to wait for the next 4 years around 2025 later, it could happen in 2024 or 2023 this is just speculation because the difference in the number of bitcoin users then and now is very much different, I also reiterate that the bitcoin price will likely continue to maintain at the price of $19k - $20k

However, there is the bitcoin block halving that happens every 4 years and so far this is the catalyst for the bull run. So if there is something that can push the price to an all time level again, it will be the halving in 2024.

I don't think that next year we will have a bull run or something, again, most likely after March or what ever the date of the halving, we will slowly see a increased in price and then it will be catapulted in 2025 massive run. And if that happens then bitcoin at 6 digit figure.
1714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ETH price keeps decreasing? on: October 13, 2022, 09:19:59 PM
The simple explanation is that we are in the bear market, and with that, there are more sellers vs buyers. And even if there is hype around the merging and supply is dwindling, there is not that much demand in the market.

And to be fair, it's not that ETH that keeps decreasing, majority of the altcoin market is suffering from -70% to -90% down from their all time high. Which mean it is cheap so take advantage of the situation and accumulate cheap altcoins right now.
1715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Mutuality on: October 13, 2022, 08:48:00 PM
Will Bitcoin talkers agree with me that Bitcoin is Mutuality because we all depend on each other on the p2p network both for Bitcoin values and it's transaction. This dependency on each other is profitable both for individual and community growth. It some how means everyone on the network has role to play to see to the proper functionality of the coin ranging from miners, developers, traders, investors, speculators and even spectators.

Maybe what you meant is that everyone here is dependent on each other. I guess successes are build on this foundation like Apple or Microsoft, everyone should work in unison.

Lastly since Bitcoin operate independent of third party standing as a community to debunk any FUD  about Bitcoin POW is a collective responsibility of everyone who operate on this forum and beyond.

Bitcoin mining is not depleting our ecosystem, it's not the cause of green house effect neither is it the cause of climate change.

This argument is not new though, there are a lot of FUD in the past and I would say that we are successfully standing on our ground with this kind of attacks because it is not true.
1716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: October 13, 2022, 08:26:48 PM
Regarding the fight, I have read and see both of them going to the public and trying to hype the fight. Of course Kambosos says that it will be different in the rematch, but Haney is confident that George can't do anything in the second fight that might put him in danger or something.

Haha, they always say that phrase as they don't want fans to shy away this weekend but in reality, there will be not much change to their styles, and the only chance that Kambosos will win in this rematch is if he could land those haymakers and knockout Haney, if not then this will be a repeat. I'm pretty sure that Haney would be more careful than before to avoid those heavy bombs that George will throw as he knows that is the only way his opponent will win.

At the moment, there are no attractive odds for Haney in my favorite sportsbook so far.

True enough, he should win by KO, otherwise, judges will all favor Haney if this goes to 12 rounds. I'm pretty sure that Kambosos area ware that Haney is a very technical fighter, he has a high IQ but despite that, he can also make some mistakes, and that is something Kambosos should capitalize.

Devin Haney didn't win by knock out in their first fight. And even though the venue is the country of Kambosos which is Australia, yet the judges give the nod to the American Haney because he really outsmart George with his long jab and technical abilities.

He has mistakes no doubt, against Linares he almost went down and his legs did shake. However he was able to bounce back and beat Linares. George needs to him him solid just like what he did again Lopez to have a good chance to win.
1717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Split the prize or Reroll? on: October 13, 2022, 08:00:47 PM
I just look at the initial result of the poll and majority says to split so I will go with that as well. Of course, we will want to gamble and take the win, but I guess there's nothing wrong for splitting the prize (as long as the other party is willing). So that in the end, you will have something in your pocket when yo go home. Or at least have the capital when you feel going to play with that money that you just won. And who knows, you might win more money because you have the capital and from that purse split.
1718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 13, 2022, 07:46:10 PM
"Fined but not suspended."
https://www.nba.com/news/draymond-green-fined
Quote
Draymond Green has been fined but won’t be suspended by the Golden State Warriors for a violent punch to the face of teammate Jordan Poole last week.

Coach Steve Kerr said after Tuesday’s preseason win against Portland that Green would return to practice Thursday, then play for the defending NBA champions against Denver on Friday night and again in the season opener Tuesday against the Lakers. Kerr, general manager Bob Myers and players have met to decide how to best proceed — including Green and Poole talking to each other.
Watching porn or having a relationship inside the team is worst now than knocking down your teammate.  Cheesy
Here I thought NBA is getting stricter about its rules but I am back to the reality that they are not. Leaked video or not they should be fair about their punishments. What if other players will try the same thing and no camera caught it? Even if there is, they won't be afraid to do it too because they can pay up.
It's safe to assume that this had been the most controversial summer of the league. So many happened in just months of waiting before the tip-off.

It should be fair and square, a fine and a suspension should be given to any players or staff that have broken some rules and shows unprofessionalism. It seems to me that the Warriors is not taking it seriously even if they knew that Poole's family isn't happy of what had happened. It's really fortunate enough that it was caught on video because if not, almost 100% we wouldn't know about it. What a controversial off-season!
Are others interpreting this as Management taking sides on this? because it seems to be just a slip in the wrist. Or the management might have talk to Jordan Poole before making the decision and maybe Poole doesn't want Green to be fine or something that's why this is their decision. In any case we will see what will be the full extend of this incident. Green could lost the respect from the young guys because of this.

I guess it's no secret that those who get rich used that formula, however, the issue here is how to get into those projects that will give you x1000? In the beginning we will not see that? And I would say that luck also enters into the equation here.

As we have been saying, it's like finding a needle in a haystack. But if you did, then it's going to  be a huge win for us if we will find this kind of projects.
1720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 12, 2022, 09:05:40 PM
Why no one discussing (or havent made a topic) about Deontay Wilder vs Robert Helenius fight ? Only 3 days left. Is it because Tyson Fury has destroyed Wilder reputation after beating him twice, and people have completely forgot about this knockout artist ? There were so many knockout compilations on YouTube, and now, in two years, he is forgotten. Helenius is not a biggest boxing superstar, but 31-3 record should be taken into consideration. He is not a trashy punching bag?

I guess it was overshadowed by the Joshua vs Usyk fight, wherein Usyk won, and then the supposedly Fury vs Usyk or Fury vs Joshua.

And so Wilder lost his hype already, just like AJ, back to back lost. But maybe when he won big against Helenius in this comeback fight, maybe we will see his name being considered again. Specially Usyk who said he is interested in fighting Wilder next.
