1721  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 12, 2022, 12:52:51 PM
seemingly members here are tired of being Bullish so now the sentiment is downfall  Grin Grin

Yeah and that is also the sentiments currently, as much as we wanted to have a bounce this month, but we all know and see the price really going down but not necessarily hitting al time low.

anyway , How much are we expecting to be this October because i think there are still something good cooking for the month being starter of the last quarter.

Probably in the $20k'ish for me.

25k at least as I am still bullish .

Very difficult to see the price hitting $25k, even our best week last September, we didn't reach it, the highest we did was $22k only and then we go on overbought zone and so the price hit the selling point.
1722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 12, 2022, 12:11:21 PM
Aside from the fact that he really have some skills, he is doing everything he could and bring a good performance even if it was just a pre-season game because he is aiming for the Warriors to give him an extension. I mean, any team could probably give him the figure he wanted because he is really a superstar in the making but only the Warriors these days can help him to have more rings in the future.
Yes, this is a reality!
I believe the Warriors are giving Poole a great opportunity to grow. Not to mention, he will have some experienced players to help him, for example Curry and Thompson.
If he improves, gaining consistency and others important attributes, he will become a great diamond that the Warriors are polishing.

From the way GSW building Poole, seems to me that they are really bringing everything out from this young star,
they are giving all the minutes that he needed to fuel up and showcasing his skills and talents.

That is right, because they know that Poole could be the next Steph or Klay, or someone that will help the team to accomplished their next goal. So Steve Kerr is giving him up exposure, just like last season. To help him gain more confidence and he is showing it already in the pre-season game.

That kind of confidence that once being given to Steph, and if Poole continues making that impact, it is safe to
assume that he might be the next main alpha of this team. He just needed to stay down like how Steph is doing
and let the fans bring more support, still young and just like how you describe it, he's a diamond that the team
is polishing and for sure it will be paid by millions of dollars. Just keep improving and let the future dictate for his
career's directions.

I can't compare it to Curry though, it was a different setup, he was a rookie back then but the Warriors knows that he is future good player. And so they traded Monta Ellis to let Steph lead the team.
1723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: October 12, 2022, 11:48:59 AM

It is interesting because he will expect to entertain his fans once more, most are expecting that it will going to be an easy fight for
him and he will be finishing Ortiz with his classic fighting style.

There are lot of opinions about his next step, but all will be concluded after the result of this comeback fight.

I hope he will not fail our expectations, I think this fight is just like a tune up fight before a big fight, just like what Ryan Garcia did when he comes back to boxing. Well, we know how technical Lomachenko is, if he will use that effectively in this fight, it should be easy for him, however, we might not see a KO if Ortiz won't be desperate enough to KO Lomachenko.

Definitely a tune up fight for Lomachenko, but still I don't think that he will overlook Ortiz because he knows that just a single punch will change the fight.

And so he will train very hard, and we wanted to see him in his best form against the version of a young opponent in Ortiz. And then we can say that Lomachenko is definitely back in the mix and will get all the belts he lost to Teo that is now in the line in Kambosos vs Haney fight.
1724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting developers for old coins on: October 10, 2022, 08:36:53 PM
Looking for developer(s) to update an old coin, possibly to do smart contracts and other things. Where do I go about doing that, any ideas on cost, etc?

Why would you want to build back up an old coin.  Why not just start a new one you are probably better off.  Trying to revive an old coin from scratch is usually very hard to do.  Cost will vary but be careful to not get scammed by anyone in the process.

I understand your initial thoughts. Just something I kind of want to do. How would one avoid getting scammed? I've tried to look into doing it myself, but I haven't seen any guides to really switch from PoW to PoS or converting to a smart contract coin or anything.

Maybe you can seek from one of this board here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=12.0

and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

Just be careful though if you received PM's specially for newbies. And I also advise you to filter out those developers that are going to apply for the position, as you have said, you might be scam here. I don't have any idea about the cost though, but just like any other startup, you need some capital to begin with. Best of luck.
1725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 10, 2022, 08:19:37 PM
^^ I really thought that this could be a big issue for the Warriors team.

But according to Moody, after the incidence, Jordan Poole continue with his own practice for 2 hours. So that is kind of mindset that the Warriors want to see from him and not going to the media and bad mouth Green. And Draymond already made a public apology so maybe the team itself is glad that something positive is already happening from the background and put their difference aside.
So that's quick and they're good again? After that heavy hook that Draymond has made to Poole, they just let it pass and Poole continued his own practice.
There are fans that would like to see some disciplinary action for Draymond because he's the one who became too aggressive and Poole was likely the victim.
But anyway, if things are already good for them then there's no need to worry about both of them since Draymond has apologized publicly and the management and Poole is okay with it.

I bet the franchise is pulling some strings to keep the issue behind and let the time cool it down but the fans wouldn't let them as long Green didn't received his punishment. Warrior's CEO is thinking about giving Green a suspension but Gen. Manager, Bob Myers, is looking the opposite way and it's expected that Green would go out and give a public apology because it's either he was ordered to do so or he is that worried that he may not receive an extension. Either way, the Warrior's locker room wouldn't be the same anymore because of the beef.

Apology has been issues by Green and he take responsibility all the responsibility and admit his fault and his failure as a leader. And then it was hinted that Green had have issues outside of the court, whether it's personal or something that he has been carrying deep inside that suddenly break and snap and as a result that infamous punch that heard around the world. But so far we don't know who released that video and I would say the Warriors know that, because he/she has access to their trainer facility.
1726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Distortion Pattern on: October 10, 2022, 08:01:04 PM
I would say that the pattern is so true, and as the OP says, we as gamblers have experience it through our journey. I guess the most reward for me, is to make a epic comeback. Have I experience it many times already, when I regret that I should go home with that big money that I have won. However, I felt greedy, and wanted to comeback and then when you thought that you are going to lose and about to leave the casino, suddenly you made that epic comeback, at least break even or won more than what you win the first time, feels really good, lol.
1727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Support Casino Operated By The Bitcointalk Members on: October 10, 2022, 12:38:42 PM
I have no doubt that members/gamblers here are going to support it. This is a niche community, and with that everyone is moving in a small area that sometimes we all knew each others.

So if we heard that a casino is being operated by one of us, then we will go and play and see our experience. And another beneficial thing for the casino owner is that he will have a lot of constructive criticism from us that they needed so that the casino can be improved.
1728  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the Mt. Gox coins affect Bitcoin’s price in August? on: October 09, 2022, 09:42:00 PM
Another email from mtgox went out last night.  It states that we have until January to decide the type of payout we want to receive.  BTC or Fiat, early or final, etc...  The early payout date looks to me like it will be in July of 2023, with no known date for a final payout suggested.  This should put some relief into the traders who were worried about mtgox tanking the market in the near term.  It also puts somewhat of a target on next summer to be the low in Bitcoin's 4-year price cycle.  So for those who are watching to catch the absolute bottom, you may have a while yet.  It is starting to look like the end is near for the mtgox saga though.  Just one more year...

Thanks for the update. And so we might rest that this news will have not effect for us until next year. And as expected we are still in the bear market in 2023 so we shouldn't be relax to say that the bottom is in, and so we should be preparing again next year if the news suddenly comes out about Mt. Gox. Unless though the ghost of the past might be finally laid to rest ... for one more year.
1729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will i Invest 10$ on this? | 182% in 6 weeks! <--is it real? on: October 09, 2022, 09:20:41 PM
Unfortunately, this seems to be fishy in the first place.

And then KYC? yeah I know we really hate what's going on right now in crypto space with the whole mandate about KYC but his project? Nah, I'll pass with the KYC requirement.

And then you have to buy at at least $10 worth of USDT? again, I'll pass because this is really a trap for traders, unless you are part of a pump and dump group and target this token to create hype.
1730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 09, 2022, 08:57:51 PM
The level of confidence from the fans of Inoue is very high, well, we cannot blame the fans because Butler won't be a champion if Casimero was not stripped with his belt, so now, he is getting all the kind of underestimation, and hopefully he will see that as a challenge and will try to prove that we are wrong.

Just to be clear, I'm not a fan of Naoya Inoue but just referring to the close one that will happen in the match.

Even for let's say Butler is able to beat Casimero, still it doesn't change the fact that he is nowhere within Inoue's league.

People are not underestimating Butler without a good basis.
What would you expect? For sure they would really be sticking on whose the current popular or known boxers and would really be underestimating
to those underdogs. They wont really be mattering nor be checking out on what Butler's accomplishments and history in terms of boxing.
But cant really be that avoided that you could really see the differences on how they do box out inside the ring.
I would really be putting my money on Inoue no matter what though.

Well true boxing fans when checking who are going to fight will have their favorite already as to who will it. So for us and the betting public, it will be Inoue no doubt, the chances of Butler is very slim.

Nevertheless, it shouldn't bother him but instead let the world know how good he is. On the other hand, it will also show how Inoue is just above level of the competition at bantamweight and taking Butler's belt and then having it all right after the fight only prove that fans have all the right to put their money on him.
1731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 09, 2022, 08:32:10 PM
The attack Green did is unacceptable, the fact that we are still talking about how it should have stayed within the team is showing that NBA is still not finding the right mental health situation. Now you are expecting Jordan Poole to figure out a way to accept Green as who he is, sure Green will "apologize" if he is asked, if I know him, he won't be even doing that unless he got some stern warning and a punishment that is more severe than what he would normally get, and then he would do so but Poole would know he doesn't mean it. And he has to accept him as his teammate and move on.

I believe violence has no place in NBA, and players should be punished like whole season worths, or at least a serious amount of money, like 10-20 million, to make sure that nobody would ever try to do something like this ever again.

Whatever Poole's decision, it will still reflect on the entire squad. We don't know what really the reason behind it

and if we just judge it from the video, it can create two-way opinions. Green might not punch Poole if he didn't push him
but from the angle that we saw from the video that keeps circulating, it was Poole who pushed green first before Green
punch him. All we can do now is to wait for any update to know how Warriors will solve this gap between these two
stars.

Green was planning on attacking him, Poole also has pride so pushing him is expected from him based on the video we saw, however, punching Poole with a very accurate shot, was unacceptable, it's pure violence. Green is really a dirty player, even his teammates are not exempted.

Now, I'm convinced that Draymond was probably the reason why Durant left the Warriors.

I think it's no secret that Draymond is part of the reason why Durant left, yes maybe KD wanted more money or have his own team or he didn't feel respected by the fans because they know that it is still Steph's team no matter what KD contribute. But there are games that KD and Draymond t is not on the page anymore by hlving arguments during the game itself. And so we might see the Warriors team or at least this kind of mood during the whole season and this could really be have a bad effect on them.
1732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: October 09, 2022, 07:59:40 PM
Jerwin has to move up, he has no power in this fight, he adjusted well, but unfortunately, he wasn't fast and he does not have volume punches. The same result in their first meeting, it was very clear that once again he was still dominated by Martinez.

Congratulations to Martinez, and to the bettors who took Martinez to win via decision.

We have seen that Martinez deserved the belt after this second match.
Some were thinking because of Ancajas' weight issues, why the first match was won by Martinez.
But here, Ancajas already seemed to be prepared and yet, he failed to get back his belt.
Let us see what the next plans of Ancajas' camp now that he didn't get the belt this time around.
Seems that he should move to the bantamweight division and maybe he will excel again in this sports.

Such a disappointment lost for Jerwin, and unfortunately we are all wrong. He was one of the best champion of his division but this fact is being shattered by Martinez and he truly is now the champion. Congrats to him.

Ancajas has still a bright future though, he has to take a rest first for the rest of the year and talk and sit down with his camp and manager, yes bantamweight should be his next target, Inoue after Butler is moving up in weight so he should try bantamweight and see how it goes.
1733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Funny way to Describe Bull and Bear Market on: October 08, 2022, 06:59:23 PM
Bull Market is where people buy at the top while bear market is where people sell at loss.
Meanwhile, Everything is casued by Fear and greed.
Thats all
By the way, we need some good advices on Bull and Bear Market on this thread.
Thanks in advance

Yeah, but on the contrary, bull market is when you sell your altcoins that you have been accumulating in bear market.

I don't think you can get more advise, just the basic or what I said, choose solid coin to buy during  the bear market. I give you one example, ETH in the bear market was at it lowest below $100, so if you buy a ton and then sell it during the bull run wherein it went as high as $4000++ then that is a huge profit already.
1734  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cryptocurrency is silent why? on: October 07, 2022, 09:26:45 PM
when compared to last year, indeed cryptocurrencies in 2022 are very rarely about good news,
and make like quiet and more bad news, the latest is bad news about BNBCHAIN being hacked,
of course this will make cryptocurrencies highlighted badly again.

It's because last year, we are still in the bull run, hitting all time high. but after that, it's all down hill to us which is understandable, because our run can't be parabolic. But we should be aware and acknowledge what kind of cycle that we are so that we can prepare our selves and what strategy we should do. As far as the hacks, what I know is that the funds are safe as per CZ, so they are what we call SAFU. Although it had some affect to the price, it's not that big though. Maybe next week we will bounce to $20k again.
1735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: October 07, 2022, 09:07:16 PM

Finally, odds are up and i'm good with the ML but i'll be pushing the bet button 12 hours before the fight, there might be significant changes by that time.

Looks very attractive, I'm sure I'm going to put a decent amount on Ancajas to win. The odds now are the opposite of the first match, so maybe Ancajas will try to be better and win this fight, good luck to us mate.

Yes, that's for sure! Ancajas is fortunately listed as an underdog by the bookies, although I wasn't really surprised of that fact, but this is indeed a good opportunity and advantage for us who believes in him that he can reclaim his belt this time. Tomorrow is the fight, right? Anyway, thanks for sharing mate.

I guess Ancajas is going to be more technical in this fight, he cannot fight like he did in their first meeting, that if he want to have a good chance of winning. Ancajas still has good future, but this is a very important fight and he has to win this, so I'm going with that underdog odds, certainly gonna take it.

Therefore you should pick Ancajas by Decision which is 6.80.

If Ancajas will go toe to toe against the champ and he will still gas out in the later rounds, most likely the fight will end in KO and the odds for that is 4.20 if you will bet on Martinez.

Also, this "DRAW" is very attractive, it is 16.00 currently/

Yes, I do agree that the Draw is really very attactive pick at 6.80. Maybe a medium bet wouldn't hurt our wallet with this one. But I'm still thinking that Ancajas can will by decision, could be very close fight but Jerwin can dig deep from his heart and should be motivated to get back his title. And if he is aware that he is the underdog, then he has to be motivated to show that he won't easily lose just like the fight bout. He need to bounce back because the whole country is behind him.
1736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 07, 2022, 08:39:20 PM
^ Again, the fight has been hype already and to that point that it seems that our waiting is turning into disappointment because of the time that we have to wait and then we don't know if who is balking or stalling or if they have the contracts but a lot of points to be cleared. Hopefully that talks is still going on secretly as they don't want to preempt to get leak to the media as this is a very important fight in the division, it's a unification fight and I don't remember when it did happen at 147 lbs.

It's been hyped since May this year and I think both camps started talking last June or July, fans have been feeling great and delighted when they knew that the deal is finally finished and both camps are just waiting for the contract but few days later, everything turns to gray as the fight is now back on square one.

Right, when they win against their worth opponent, Crawford against Porter, and then Spence vs Ugas. Everyone is delighted that finally a unification fight in the biggest division of boxing. But now the tune has change.

Maybe it's much better to leave it as is and just wait for them whenever they are ready because I believe that they are doing anything they can, it's just there are some unexpected problems. There are some rumors that either one of the camps is stalling but sadly, we cannot verify that information.

Yeah, that is the option left for now, leave it as it is and hope that they fight is going to be pushed by either side and not shelved it totally. Or someone big stepping up to tell both camps to make it because the demands for the fans is really there.
1737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 07, 2022, 06:15:42 PM
^^ Many are looking for this kid and there are reports that scouts are present in the game and they are satisfied seeing Victor Wembanyama, and telling that he is a hybrid of KD and Rudy Gobert? And so they are very happy to watch him so it's going to be a dogfight if he even goes to the NBA.

As for Kai, he is also good but still very raw talent that needs to be developed.

This guy will likely be hired in the NBA soon, as for Kai, he has the height but he is not exceptional yet, I guess he needs more training and of course, needs more improvement to be very competitive. Kai is a versatile big man, however, he must live up to the competition as for now, he is not yet worthy to be in the NBA, maybe if he will gain more minutes in his current team and could tally great stats, that would give him a better chance.

I don't know why is there so much hype of Kai Sotto, definitely a good player, but he lack the "IT" factor to become a NBA players, just saying. He has a lot of supporters though amongst NBA fans so hopefully he can improved a lot and maybe in the next 2 years, will be drafted by the NBA.

For Victor, sky is the limit and as long as he can stay healthy, he could be definitely top 3 draft in he ever decided to enter the biggest basketball league (I understand he is European).
1738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ethereum is Swap is costly after the Ethereum merger 2.0 on: October 07, 2022, 05:24:25 PM
Hi guys I was wondering that that when ether spiked it caused very big gas congestion problems that lead to very high high fees for swap and also withdrawals. And when we heard news about ether merge 2.0 many members were saying that it might get very cheaper withdrawals fees and still I think that's not the case with Ethereum and that is not good for snallers volume traders.

Perhaps you didn't read the most common misconception about the ETH merge.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/the-merge-top-5-misconceptions-about-the-anticipated-ethereum-upgrade

Quote
Misconception 1: Ethereum gas fees will reduce after The Merge

Ethereum’s impending upgrade will reduce Ethereum’s infamous gas fees (transaction fees) is one of the biggest misconceptions circulating among investors. While reduced gas fees top every investor’s wishlist, The Merge is a change of consensus mechanism that will transition the Ethereum blockchain from PoW to proof-of-stake (PoS).

So there will be no cheaper transaction after the merge, but in any case, as others have said it is still quite cheap and so we don't know what is your complain here.
1739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 06, 2022, 08:29:55 PM
Yes, but top seed tends to perform better and not to get upset, but this is the second time that Alcaraz have been eliminated like this.
First, is when we become the number 1 seed, the first game he played he lost.
And now this time, but I have to check though, maybe he is injured or something or just lost (again) his mental focus. if this will be frequent though then most likely he will not stop as number 1 for a long time like the big 3 before him.
Alcaraz is just a kid but even at this young age, he is already on top of the world. So sometimes it is understandable if he becomes a touch overconfident. And it is also understandable if he lost his focus because he achieved so much in such a short time.
It does not appear that he has any problems or injuries. But he should be thoroughly checked. But in my opinion, it was just a lapse in concentration. Maybe he cannot cope with the pressure of being at the top and maintaining his position. I think we should cut him some slack because he is just a young kid. He will learn how to handle pressure and how to approach future matches when he is older.
I would tend to agree but you have to look at how he achieved and become the world's number 1.
There are also a lot of pressure in his shoulder, but he seems to beat the odds and achieved his goal. So he is mentally focus because if he is not then he will be the likes of other who is making a good run until they stop improving like Tsitsipas. So he can't be this  kind of reasoning, overconfident? nah, he can't do that, lost focus? I doubt that. Again the pressure is already in his shoulders way before, as he is being compared ot Nadal like 6-8 months ago, so he can handle pressures like coming back from 2 sets down in a 5 setter and win the game. This is just very uncharacteristic of him, just saying.

In this case, I have to agree with you. Because he is only a kid, he might feel a lot of pressure to prove he is actually worthy of being number one. The pressure can often lead a man to make mistakes that he normally wouldn't have made. Some people are very quick to compare a young player with some of the legends of this generation when it comes to evaluating young players.

It is true that he is one of the leading players in the world right now and the number one grant player in the world right now. But that does not mean he is already at the level of Rafael Nadal or Rodger Federer. At the same time, it is also true that being the best in the world does come with some consequences, and being compared to the best is just one of them.
I think Alcaraz is doing everything right at the moment. He has great game, he is quite strong mentally and he seems down to earth. I am not worried for him one bit, he will be one of the greats if not no.1 in the years to come.

His only fault is that he is going too much for his strokes, he needs to learn how to finish points without hitting the lines sometimes. He believes in himself maybe a bit too much, and needs to add a bit of safety margin to his points. He will learn that will time and then he will lower unforced errors count and become even tougher to beat.

Yes, great point, I thought that I'm the only one who see that, but we can see he somewhat going to much per stroke that's why he misses a point that he can easily converted.

And so as he mature, maybe he will have the time to correct itself and that will be dangerous specially when he hits his prime because he will be the perfect tennis player in the mold of lets say Djokovic.
