2761  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex and Poloniex verification on: March 03, 2018, 02:38:34 PM

Can anyone tell me how to check to see if I am verified on both exchanges short of having to make a withdrawal?

In bittrex go to Settings and you should see what account tier you are in with your withdrawal limit.

In polo, go to My profile and you should also see the same details above.

Quote from: AdolfinWolf
Poloniex currently allows legacy accounts to withdraw 2000$ every day, but this will change after Q1 ( so in a few weeks i'm guessing), and then all legacy accounts will be closed and some sort of documentation will be needed to withdraw(?) or atleast trade.

Legacy accounts should be able to withraw although trading will be disabled unless they verify their account.

On the date of the deadline, legacy accounts will be placed in a state where:

Trading and lending will be disabled;
Open orders will be closed;
Loans will have auto-renew switched off;
Margin positions will be given an 8 week wind-down period where they can only be diminished or closed. After the 8 week wind-down period, they will be closed;
Deposit addresses will be revoked. Any deposits sent to a revoked address will not be recoverable until the account is fully verified;
Withdrawals will remain enabled at the daily withdrawal limits prior to the deadline.

Quote from: Highflying1
I’m mostly concerned about Bittrex. Is verification a real pain; like taking 30 days - and your photo I.D. has to fall within a certain dpi criteria?

2762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet for ETH? on: March 03, 2018, 02:03:03 PM
I think everyone pointed that MEW is really the best wallet for ERC-20 tokens and for your ETH. However, there are other wallets like Jaxx or Exodus that can hold your ETH as well. So you can also take a look at:

1. Ledger Nano S - not so expensive hardware wallet, but one of the best out there.
2. Trezor - one advantage of it is that it has interface with MEW
3. Exodus - I personally used this, not just with ETH but other altcoins as well for my daily trading
4. Jaxx - similar with Exodus
5. Mist - never used but it says its the official Ethereum wallet

MEW is still susceptible to some risks so it's not actually the "best" for me. If you want a secure wallet that also provides all the necessary functionality you better go with a combination of a hardware wallet plus MEW since both trezor and ledger are compatible with it.

Keeping your funds safe starts with using a good wallet. The most unsafe are web/hosted wallets so don't ever use it especially if you're gonna store a huge amount of money.

You can find more about wallet types and some best practices in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631151.0

What do you mean by "introduce"?

If you want to run a bounty campaign here, I would recommend Bountyhive

If you just want someone to make an ANN thread, Go check this list Overview of Bitcointalk Designers

You can also try to follow up your problem here: (very low chance of getting a response):

You can find their phone number here: https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/2288496
You will likely get a response, but not one that's helping you forward. Coinbase for security purposes doesn't provide support through Twitter and phone when it comes to the problems OP is dealing with.

It has to be done via mail, which requires a good amount of patience. Coinbase is great if everything is working properly, but an absolute nightmare when you try to get things worked out through just the mail.

Yes it was stated on the link I provided. I was just trying to suggest that maybe OP can try to have his ticket accelerated to the right department by just providing his Case ID.
2766  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: TREZOR Model T touchscreen on: February 28, 2018, 09:49:09 PM
Relax man! It's just been a couple hours since they posted the article so I'm pretty sure no one has received their wallets yet but if you're looking for reviews, you better go with youtube since it'll most likely be the fastest to have a review and it'll be more detailed there.

EDIT:

Now that you mentioned it, I personally didn't like the touchscreen since first the screen is just small so navigating feels kinds off and there's misclicks too. Honestly, I prefer the buttons more but we'll see when the reviews come  Cheesy
2767  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase robbed me !!! on: February 28, 2018, 09:34:45 PM
It says on their support page that you only have to submit one support ticket and submitting more can cause an additional delay. They're most likely prioritizing tickets by date (the oldest first) so if you sent another one it'll be put on the back since it is "newly sent"

And make sure that it is on the right category since your problem is on their priority list

Our team is prioritizing only trust and safety, account lockout, and delayed payment issues. Specifically:

Account compromises
Account lockouts (password resets, 2-factor authentication, device verification, lost access to email address)
Delayed payments or orders

We are unable to prioritize other issue types at this time.

Please submit only one ticket for your issue. Creating multiple submissions for the same issue will result in an additional delay.

You have posted a couple of times in this board so It's impossible that you haven't seen the "Newbies - Read before posting" thread  Roll Eyes

In short If you didn't bother searching/looking and reading, yes it would indeed be very confusing.
2769  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Research - Torrent users on: February 28, 2018, 08:34:37 PM
Are you a torrent user?

Yes and I use it once or twice a week lol.

Quote from: redigaffi
Would you use a service like this?

Yes if the time comes

Quote from: redigaffi
Would you pay (small amount) to download even more each day?

Personally NO as I don't cross the safety line. I only use torrent sites which I trust, I'm very wary when a torrent file has no reviews, I check the uploader etc.. but it's mostly videos anyway lol

Quote from: redigaffi
The problem is, how to face problems like copyrights because holding movies could be a legal issue. Maybe if I just hold them 3 days (time enough for the user to download it from the site) and then delete it. Or have datacenters in some countries with no law issues. That's something I have to think about also.

Most torrent files are illegal and the moment that you hold it for someone to download, it is already considered as illegal as you're basically doing what the pirate torrent sites do.

Anyway, I don't understand why you have to provide a different download link when you can just inform the user if the torrent file has a malware or not.

And yeah since you mentioned you will be downloading the file(s), how long do you think the process could last? per gb for example? as you know there are times when some people really need the file so it would be a huge let down if it will take a long time for you to check.
2770  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: question about facebook bounty on: February 28, 2018, 07:45:34 PM
As mentioned above someone might have reported your posts, but it can also be deleted even if someone didn't report it since Facebook has been constantly deleting spam posts which most ICO pages get's flagged at

In any case, you should have received some kind of message either in your support inbox or in your "notifications" tab. You should find there how long it will last, what you can do etc... (Support inbox is at Settings at the bottom left).
2771  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: www.antminerdistribution.com on: February 28, 2018, 07:04:59 PM
Lol what a name. For me its completely bogus. So that alone is a red flag for me that the website is a potential scam. I will stay out and look for other legit sellers out there. Right now there are too many scam site and its really hard to distinguished them and unless you bought it from the seller itself.

I've actually spoke to them about this to clear things up and they confirmed that it was a "fake" name filled out by their webmaster for a test back then. Please note that I didn't bought anything from this site so let's just compare the things about them.

Reasons to trust:

Reasons to doubt:

  • Fake registrant name
  • Reversible payment methods are not accepted anymore (reason below)

To be honest, out of all the resellers I've seen, they are the most reasonable (e.g. not overpriced) and legit looking so good luck on finding another one that can exceed them. Better buy from the main site.

Unfortunally we don’t work with Paypal or credit cards. This is largely due to repeated cases where someone pays for the hardware with PayPal, receives it and then fraudulently complains to PayPal or their credit card company that they never received the goods. All too often PayPal sides with the fraudulent buyer and this is understandably too risky for us as a company. Besides that the manufacturer Bitmain also doesn't accept Paypal or creditcards.

Kind regards

2772  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto records for tax on: February 28, 2018, 03:37:53 AM
Spreadsheet for all transactions? and it is self made? NO that is impossible but yeah some users might have kept a record of their OWN trades but I see no reason why they would share it (assuming that they are still sane)

Anyway, You can view all transactions in any block explorer e.g.:

But please note that it is pseudonymous so transactions aren't connected to a person's real name however it doesn't mean that the users are fully anonymous because depending on what you do, authorities might be able to track you for example if you signed up and verified your identity in some exchange or ICO etc..

2774  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What makes you choose a crypto product? on: February 27, 2018, 03:41:08 PM
Faking a review in trustpilot is so easy but it doesn't necessarily mean that all reviews are fake so I would give it a 50-50 trust rating lol in short, it would be a case-by-case basis like for example if you found a lot of positive reviews of a certain product/service there but there's hardly anything on the other sites then that would be a "RED FLAG".

To answer your second question, I'm no adventurer so NO I will not as it is too risky. I will just wait until the site has gained enough reputation in the community
2775  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: www.antminerdistribution.com on: February 27, 2018, 02:24:51 PM

Payment can be made by a safe wired banktransfer, Skrill, Neteller or in bitcoins. (You will receive an official invoice for your order)

I would not call the antminerdistribution WHOIS very legit. Although overall they look more like an existing and registered business.
It was supposed to give a name of a real person to contact, not a legal entity.
Quote
Contact name: Sjorn Antminer
I do not know any real person who would, even for business reasons, change his or her last name to Antminer ). Sjorn can otherwise look like a Dutch name )

Yeah it is probably not the full name of the owner as you can also put the name of your company/business/organization so in this case, it is their company/business name?
I suppose Sjors is either the owner's first or last name (but probably last) and the "antminer" is from because it is what they sell.
2776  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which Cryptocurrency is best To mine on Laptop on: February 27, 2018, 09:11:04 AM
Hello everyone!
I have two laptops core i3 and core i5 both are old not new. now i am thinking about start mining on them. So what do you say as i am new in this field.
Guide me as i too want to earn money.

You could try mining XMR and Zcash but don't think that you will be generating lot's since cpu mining has long been unprofitable.
Mind telling what are their GPU's?

I think mining BItcoin (BTC) can not use laptop because the capacity of RAM, Memory and Procecor in laptop is not able to offset server. mostly for Bitcoin miners using computer assembled PCs. the specifications of RAM, Memory and others have been enlarged. Not to mention to mine require air conditioner, Fan and expensive electricity cost. because the computer must be On 24 Hours. that's what I know to mining.

You have to use ASIC's for bitcoin: https://www.bitmain.com
2777  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Presale vs ICO on: February 26, 2018, 06:42:35 PM
But what if there is no amount mentioned? No softcap or hardcap mentioned? There is only a pre-sale mentioned for a limited time, they do not mention an amount they want to receive. Is this project then still an ICO?

This will take too long... Your goal is basically to know if they're a fraud or not right? so can you just name the ICO here instead? It will be a lot faster since anyone who sees it can look into it.
2778  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why wallet hacked on: February 26, 2018, 06:32:51 PM
It depends entirely on the user, usually you should be fine as long as you don't enter it on some random/untrusted sites and keep it in a safe place.

You should provide a more detailed information about your problem. What exactly happened? Where did you enter your private keys? How did you store it?
2779  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MERIT unfair? on: February 26, 2018, 10:07:30 AM
1. Merit is to promote quality post.
    a. I agree. Post is reviewed for it to be counted as an Activity? why add an additional Merit?

You haven't read enough, this has been repeated countless times, the merit system is introduced to reduce spam and account farming.

a1. Unfair to the newbie that came to this forum for knowledge and possible earn.

If they really did come here for knowledge, they shouldn't care about ranks at all since all they need is to read and to post which is available in all ranks.

Those guys who have been earlier were not required to have this to ranked up.

That's exactly the reason, it's because they've been here "first". Reality Check: In most cases it's always been the first ones who gets the most. Did you also whine when the early adopters get the most out of bitcoin?

2. How will you that merits are given only to those with quality post?
     a. How will you know that merit are given only to those that deserve it. What if they give it for some other purpose like selling them, or they give it to people they know who doesn't deserve it.

If you find any user that is abusing the system you can report it in Meta board.

3. How will you compel to who have merit to give to give it out?

What are you trying to say? I didn't understand a thing
2780  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Ab-chain.com scam or liget ? on: February 25, 2018, 05:18:13 AM

Roadmap

 Q1 2018

  • AB-CHAIN platform development
