281  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: April 18, 2024, 07:42:07 PM
Are you guys eating protein? That's what the body needs to make new muscle tissue! And hydrate with a good electrolytic drink like apple juice and mineral water in a 50/50 mix with a pinch of salt. Or non-alcoholic beer.

Keep up the good work! 100k is not that far away.
I hope a glass of milk every morning should be enough to provide my body with the adequate amount of protein to make new muscle tissues because I never miss it.

Although I consume more of plant proteins than animal protein. Not really a fan of beer, alcoholic or not, so I think apple juice and mineral water would be a more suitable option for me.

Thanks for tips though, we really need all the important health tips we can get to aid us through this challenge.

Milk is great but I never considered it a source of protein.  I just drink it because it's awesome.  Now I'm wondering if I'm protein overloading myself or if such a thing is possible.  I'm no stranger to sitting down with a rare steak and pounding milk straight out of the gallon while blood drips down my beard.  Today I'm making a pork roast that will become the largest pulled pork sandwich any man has ever attempted to eat with the leftovers turning into a stew that will sustain me through the coming halving weekend.

I am slacking on the push-ups today.  Haven't gotten one in yet.  That's about to change.  Probably should've gotten an early start considering tomorrow is 200 push-ups day but I love it!
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: April 18, 2024, 07:25:46 PM
No games today sadly, so we can all prepare for tomorrow's halving event.  Smiley

Still, I couldn't resist getting a bet in for tomorrow.  I know, I know...  The Kings are 0-5 against the Pelicans this year, they're playing in New Orleans and are also given odds.  Probably should think this is a terrible bet but I don't at all.  Granted I'm a hometown Sacramento boy, but there's absolutely no way the Kings lose this game and I'm betting on it.

New Orleans Pelicans - Sacramento Kings
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Sacramento Kings

Odds
1.86
283  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 18, 2024, 07:19:06 AM
I came across this chart showing the amount of USDT alongside BTC’s price. I’m sure it can’t be this correlated going back much further historically, but it seems to point to a higher BTC price in the immediate future. I know Tether’s USDT printing is a hot button issue to some. My opinion is that it just shows more usd being deposited on exchanges.

284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Updated 2024 NBA Championship Odds on: April 18, 2024, 06:27:57 AM
I think it is going to come down to either the Nuggets or the Timberwolves for the championship. I really don’t think anyone in the East will be able to win it all unless they’re facing a team suffering from injuries. The Suns and Lakers are dark horses too, and if I had to pick someone in the East I’d say the Bucks if they can keep Giannis on the court or possibly the Celtics if Porzingis surprises with his play.

I’m a water guy but I do eat plenty of meat. Mostly beef and pork at the moment but I’m sure I’ll get back on the chicken wagon soon enough. I do take a daily vitamin and sometimes vitamin B12 or collagen but I’m thinking so much regular exercise might benefit from some creatine so I may grab some of that soon too. I’ve been watching a bunch of health influencers lately that make you want to get on testosterone, but I don’t want to screw up my natural production.
286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Heat vs. 76ers 2024 NBA Play-In Tournament Odds & Preview on: April 18, 2024, 03:16:21 AM
That was a much closer game than I was expecting. I think Butler needed to shoot better than 5-18 from the field if they were going to win. Still, they had a shot to get the win. Looking like the Bulls might beat the Hawks (they’re up by 5 right now) and get matched up against the Heat. I think the Heat win that game and get the final playoff spot.
287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Heat vs. 76ers 2024 NBA Play-In Tournament Odds & Preview on: April 17, 2024, 11:55:23 PM
Butler playing well so far. He’s definitely the star player so far leading the Heat to a 1 point lead at the end of the first. Embiid hasn’t done much yet on offense but Bam has been nonexistent on the offensive end so far so it seems like he’s focusing on defending Embiid. Miami is playing well but need to make more 3 pointers and open up the middle for Bam.
288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where would you prefer to watch your favorite team? on: April 17, 2024, 08:32:58 PM
I guess it depends on the situation and the number of people I'm watching it with.  If I'm alone I'll probably watch at home, but occasionally may be at a bar as well.  If I'm with one person then of course I'd rather be watching it live and sharing the experience with a loved one.  If there's 3 of us then live is an option still, but the bar becomes more appealing as does watching it at home.  4+ people and live starts to be less fun and home or the bar becomes a better option for me.  Money is a bit of a factor as well so I guess when it comes down to it, the more people you have the less live watching becomes affordable, then the bar, and finally you can always have a dozen people over to your house to eat ramen if you're a Bitcoiner.  Smiley

Who's selling two days before the halving?

There are probably lots of people.  Those who bought the bottom at $16K not too long ago and want to bank profits on the runup to the halving.  Those who bought the ETF launches and now see a correction so they're booking profits.  Those who paid for their tax debts with their credit card and now need to raise money.  Then of course the always popular lettuce handed individuals who bought at $72K after they saw the all time high articles and then quickly discovered they aren't built for this type of investment.  Pretty sure all of these people still believe Bitcoin will be higher at the end of the year though.
290  Other / Meta / Re: Why seeing merit button on my post when I can not merit my own post on: April 17, 2024, 08:23:40 PM
When I go through a post of other members, I will see the link to a merit page which can be used to merit the particular post that you have just read. If it is my own post, I can not merit it. Then why should merit link to give merit to a post be seen on my own post when I can not merit myself. I think something should be done for us not to see the merit link on our own posts. Only other people's posts should the merit link be seen.

It is corrected by the following step a click to merit yourself

That's funny.  I've never tried to merit myself before.  Seeing this, I went a step further and tried to leave myself a feedback rating.  I was also denied.  Damn.  I thought this was my chance to be a true self-scratcher.  It is a bit funny to think there are people out there who probably tried to leave themselves merit or trust ratings only to be denied.  I guess this is why some people spend so much time farming alts and forming trust/merit circles.  Personally, I think it would be funny if people could leave themselves merit, only instead of giving them merit it just destroys it.
291  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Stacks Bowers Physical Cryptocurrency Auction 2023 Thread on: April 17, 2024, 08:12:22 PM

It is 2oz of .9999 gold, plus that sell prices has the 20% buyer's premium included
So in actuality, close to spot.

I wish it was not redeemed. Would be much cooler in the original state.

Someone got the deal of a lifetime on that coin...  It is still attached to 50 NastyFans seats, which means the 50 seats backing it are worth $1,500 at minimum and $4,600 at last trade value by themselves.  Unfortunately, someone cleared out the ~$500 in BTC held on the coin a couple months ago, so it doesn't have much BTC held on it currently.  The absolute minimum value for this coin today should be around $6,300 and a more realistic valuation would be closer to $10,000 in my opinion.  I likely would have bought this at that price had I known (nobody gave me a heads up)...  In fact, I believe I even offered that much to the seller (if it's the same guy) a long time ago in hopes I could keep them from peeling it, but they declined.  I'm sure the amount of BTC I offered for the coin back when we discussed it would be worth a large fortune now as Bitcoin's value increase has been remarkable.

This does bring up an issue though with peeled coins that I would like to see addressed someday...  I think people should be able to redeem peeled coins for their seat value either by selling their seats back to NastyMining at the current buyback rate, or claiming them digitally to their account so they can sell them or sell the redeemed coin and continue to safely earn BTC from the seats.  I think that would address a lot of issues people have, as a redeemed coin could not only get it's seat value but also any BTC held under the threshold for it's owner.  More people than just me would need to want this to happen for it to become reality though.
292  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: April 17, 2024, 07:47:00 PM
I don't want to do this anymore.

This pussy is dead to me now.  The first thing I do when I wake up is push-ups.  I'm now fully addicted.  Hard to believe that less than a month ago I was thinking that I wanted to quit.  I look and feel so much better, I feel lucky that I stumbled across this challenge online and decided it would be a good thing for this forum.  I wouldn't say it's changed my life, but it's definitely improved it.  I can do more push-ups now then I could when I was 20!  I won't ever win any races against my younger self, but I'd bet I could kick his ass in a boxing match (he would disagree).  Smiley

I am beginning to wonder if maybe halving day can be considered a holiday for a day off break or if that is just weakness talking...

Pure weakness.  I'm ashamed I posted this.  April 19th, halving day.  That means twice as many push-ups.  Anybody else in for a 200 push-up day on Friday or do you want a day off?
293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Heat vs. 76ers 2024 NBA Play-In Tournament Odds & Preview on: April 17, 2024, 07:36:06 PM
I took the 76ers.  While I agree that Miami has outperformed in the postseason, Jimmy Butler is 34 years old now.  He's at the end of his prime and for a player that is so athletic the dropoff will be intense.  I think we witnessed it a bit this season and I don't think he has enough left in the tank to carry a team in the playoffs.  Meanwhile, Joel Embiid is playing some of his best basketball, is in his prime, and is also well rested.  The key to this series in my opinion will be Bam Adebayo.  Will he be able to contain Embiid to under 30 points and also manage to get 20 a game?  That is what Miami will need in my opinion.  We'll see...
294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 17, 2024, 07:32:34 PM
And Haney got his revenge,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HzBqdKmXuY

Before it was Ryan Garcia who smuck Haney in their first encounter, and now that the fight is official, they have this face off at Empire State and then this happens. You can see the face of Oscar though, concerned about what happened but Garcia just shrug it off and just love the animosity between them.

Officials should see to it that no untoward incident happens, heading to the date of the match, there's a possibility of a brawl because both fighters hate each other, the worst that could happen is one gets hurt and the match canceled and rescheduled, nobody wants this to happen we have been excited in discussing this match for months and we don't want to end in cancellation, this match is four years in the making.
This is where it all started

Ryan Garcia & Devin Haney Face-Off, Exchange Words Ahead of Potential Fight

I don't even think they both hate each other.  I think Devin Haney is disappointed that the promotion leading up to his fight is basically just Ryan Garcia displaying mental illness on social media for clicks.  I'm sure this isn't what Devin was expecting when he agreed to this fight and was hoping for some more typical promotion.  Meanwhile it seems like Ryan Garcia realizes that his career has taken a nose dive and if he doesn't do something spectacular for attention, he'd just drift away and he doesn't want that.  I expect more crazy tweets and more public stunts leading up to this fight, but in the end when Ryan loses it will be clear that people have had enough of him.
295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: April 17, 2024, 07:30:10 PM
The playoffs are officially kicking off today.  Exciting as this is my favorite time of year.  Swimming and good basketball every day.  Smiley  This first game probably isn't the most exciting of the playoffs, but Miami has a history of coming alive in the playoffs so we'll see.  Personally, I think the Heat haven't been playing well lately while the Philadelphia 76ers have looked excellent since Embiid's return from injury.  So I'm giving them the nod today.  I'm staying away from the Hawks vs Bulls series because I think they've both been playing poorly and I have no idea which way that series will go.

Philadelphia 76ers - Miami Heat
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Philadelphia 76ers

Odds
1.45

The NBA has just announced a lifetime ban for player Jontay Porter from the Toronto Raptors for violating the league’s gaming rules. Jontay was apparently quite the gambler and while he claimed he never bet on his own games, the league still decided there was enough gambling to ban him forever. Tough break…

5 minutes left on Q4.

Safe to say congrats in advance to the Sacramento Kings. So in the first round of the playoffs, we'll see Thunders vs Kings.

That wasn’t the greatest second half, but it is always a good night when the Kings light the beam. A bit of a shame Klay had such a bad night in what was likely to be his last game in a Warriors uniform, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

I think the Kings have a real shot at beating the Thunder, but I believe they still have to get through the Pelicans first.
298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 17, 2024, 03:37:04 AM
This Kings vs Warriors game is living up to expectations. Their games during the regular season were so close… I think this one will come down to the wire too. The Kings have a chance to end the Warriors dynasty for good right now but you know the Warriors aren’t going down without a fight. This is one of those games you know you’ll wake up bruised tomorrow from.

Edit: As soon as I talk about how close this game will be the Kings run out to a 15 point lead…
299  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Canada] Trudeau's balls are nowhere to be found 🤣 on: April 17, 2024, 03:34:29 AM
Imagine living in Canada and being an early Bitcoin adopter. You think you’re rich after holding for over a decade. Then the government comes along and tells you that you have to give them 2/3s of your Bitcoin value. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to live in Canada outside of those wanting the government to support them. Being a Canadian is like handicapping yourself from ever reaching financial freedom.
300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin's 4 year cycle only coincidence? (This could be actually good news.) on: April 17, 2024, 01:48:44 AM
Supply and demand is pretty much undefeated and that’s what the four year cycle is. There’s always newbies to the market and they probably dismiss the four year cycle initially similarly to how you have tried to. This is why as Bitcoin gains adoption, we still see the cycle. Eventually we may reach a point where the block reward doesn’t matter much, but for now it is everything.
