281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos: Still a thing? on: April 11, 2024, 05:48:19 AM
They pay hourly for your sats you which stake on their casino and the rate is 15% annually. It is huge compared to freebitco.in's 4% daily compounding annual rate. To be honest I am kind of skeptical about this because it sounds too good to be true. I am not sure if the 15% returns on btc are sustainable. As I pointed out in my earlier post, this offer is only limited to 20 btc so that means they'll be paying 3 btc interest for that 20 btc every year.

What do you think about it?
I've forgotten about this thread and I got to say that whomever bumped this thread, I thank you because I wouldn't have seen this post, I would definitely try this one out, I'm so crazy with my spending right now and I think that it's worthy that I have to put in some way to make some passive income so I won't zero out in terms of money, I don't like the idea that I'm going to be spending on stuff while not making any profit or just not spending anything because I've made it all back due to my investment, I'm going to ignore the part that you're promoting them though, I just trust you that it's a good investment, don't worry too that I'm investing too much, I'm definitely not going to do that and any amount is probably negligible that I can afford to lose it.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: April 11, 2024, 05:03:52 AM
How's it going for you then OP? Is the gambling any good? Are you getting a constant profit? Because from what I understand in all of this is that you're goal in gambling is to profit and not to have fun and it's unlikely that you're ever profiting from gambling because the odds are stacked against you and there isn't any way that you can do a gambling for profit if you're really good at gambling with an emphasis on really good because you need those skills. In the case that you're really good too, I don't think that you're going to want to quit the moment that you've doubled your initial amount of money, you got to remember that you can do more than just doubling the money, with the skill, double is probably the least that you can do.
283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you depend on game predictions by supercomputers? on: April 11, 2024, 03:52:11 AM
That depends too, is the supercomputer's predictions at the 99% accuracy? Anything lower than that is definitely not a good reason to depend on them when it comes to predicting the potential outcomes despite being able to do ungodly amounts of calculations, human factor will always be unpredictable. Maybe if that supercomputer shows an impressive result that predicts perfectly even if the accuracy is lower then I'd still take it but knowing how supercomputer is, it's unlikely that you'd be seeing a lot of them in any households yet, they're the size of buildings and most of them are used for far more important things than just predicting what could be the next team that would win or what number's going to hit the lottery. Regards to those that are doubtful of the power of supercomputers, you don't know the depth of what they can do because they're the most impressive human object in my opinion.
284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: April 11, 2024, 03:05:45 AM
If you're talking about Denis Villeneuve, he's not french, he is Canadian, from the french speaking part, that is to say he is a Quebecer actually. I'm not a big fan of him and his aesthetic, but it's a great director for sure. And from what I read, he has been chosen to direct the last chapter of the saga, Dune III.  So I guess we will see the same characters and actors again. The movie is expected to be released in 2 or 3 years.
https://www.theverge.com/24121523/dune-3-denis-villeneuve-legendary-messiah
If you read the book, that's not yet the last part of the saga, it would be a trilogy not a saga since saga needs to be more than 3 I think. It's also the 2nd book of the series that's going to get the adaptation too which is nice since that means that there's a possibility that everyone will be able to see and experience the Dune saga from start to finish without having the need to read the book because most of the time, people don't have the time to read books which is sad and alarming. If they do follow how the book plays out and they won't cast the same actor for any other character, probably that's the last time we'd see some of the characters, the only recurring character that would retain their casting all throughout would be Jason Momoa's character, Duncan Idaho.

286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Betting. Why the Distinction? on: April 11, 2024, 01:46:19 AM
Gambling is the general term, if you look at the definition of gambling in Google, it says there that you're wagering something of value on a random event with the intent of winning of winning something else of value, those are the exact word for word on the first result which means that gambling is the term and betting is just a type of gambling. Betting is still wagering of value to a not so random event because it depends on who's the likely winner since there's skills involved but still, it's still totally random as underdog winnings can still happen, that's why they god odds right? If you really want to specify the distinction, maybe you can put betting as a subtype of another subtype and that subtype being the not so totally random subtype. I don't know the reason for the need for the distinction though, I don't even believe you can even get confused because one is an activity (betting) and the other is what you call that activity (gambling).
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why not a new one? on: April 10, 2024, 08:15:06 AM
People have done this before, it's called bitcoin forks and so far, they're not that good of a substitute to bitcoin and they're even worthless now I think, so believe me and others when we say that a new bitcoin or a clone of it isn't going to be any kind of solution that would create any kind of profit for those that would invest in them. You're better off investing in bitcoin and doing DCA rather than wishing for another kind of bitcoin that's pretty much useless.
288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin the best asset for investment currently? on: April 10, 2024, 06:25:57 AM
Because it made someone a millionaire or have changed their lives in just a span of 15 years and I don't think that there's any investment out there that could've replicated the success of bitcoin and so it's really popular when it comes to the investing market, although I wouldn't say it's popular as we think popular is because it's not yet mainstream where every person that knows about bitcoin already has an idea what bitcoin is, not a lot of them knows a thing or two if you ask them, most of the people that makes bitcoin popular are the people that's on the Internet most of the time, scrolling through stuff that's rotting their brain and then they see bitcoin and other cryptocurrency related stuff.
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are Bitcoin Runes and what do we need to know about them? on: April 10, 2024, 05:44:14 AM
Think of them as NFTs OP, they're useless and the make the network congested, that's how it is with runes and inscriptions, they're not really that helpful to the bitcoin ecosystem overall so I'm not too keen on using them. Remember the time when bitcoin was so expensive? That's because the network was full of these runes and inscriptions. If we really want to have a better bitcoin network, maybe supporting lightning network and using that network and they're definitely the most helpful way that you can contribute to the network, not flooding them with these worthless things, it's a good thing that they've gone a little bit since then, no worries of high fees at least for now.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how do you think meme coinis? on: April 10, 2024, 05:04:56 AM
They all do have a potential, after all, it's the market that decides what meme coin is going to be going up in price, which one makes the most money is definitely the one that's catchy and silliest but relatable meme coin, most of them are try hards at what they want to do so they end up just being a meme coin that has nothing in them. It's a risk to invest in meme coins, always remember that if the potential for a really big profit is at your door when you invest in a particular meme coin, it's probably a good idea for you to take it and don't do it like that Dogecoin millionaire that risk all of his life savings in DOGE but he didn't cash in when it was peaking, he could've turned his life upside down but he decided to fumble the 3 million at that time to hold on to it.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Frogmoon (FROG) @ Mexc on: April 10, 2024, 04:21:15 AM
Mate its current price seems so hopeless. We can officially call it dead so I am confused why you are suddenly asking questions about it. Is there anything that could make this coin revive itself? Because I see no possible reasons for it to do so.

Only a miracle can turn a deadcoin into having some renewed potential.
The only reason that I can think of why they're promoting this is because they've got something to get out of promoting that altcoin, no way that you'd be doing something for nothing right?

To OP, can you like point out the reason or reasons why you think that this token is something that's got a potential that it would pump in prices in the near future, you do know that in this world of altcoins, there's about 90% of shitcoins right? I'm sure that it will be difficult to hit the motherlode though and like what @btc78, only a miracle can pump a dead coin, if it was really a good token, people would be talking about it and it won't be fading out of obscurity right?
292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An AI-powered Twitter bot predicts Bitcoin’s price on: April 09, 2024, 07:10:31 PM
I think your mistake was to measure your success in Fiat. If you used your bot to build a Bitcoin holding via trading, and measured its success in Bitcoin, then you would have very different results. I did some scalping on Coinbase to build a few Satoshi, and I've kept those. I ended up with more Satoshi than just a simple buy and HODL. It's a bit harder now with new government regulations and taxes, so you will have to factor in those.
It's probably because it's easy to understand it and it would be a bit difficult if it's changed in a way that you'd have to be questioning how exactly it works. Some people can't really understand how it would do though and with the number that it might show in bitcoin, some might not unconsciously consider this bot to be this powerful. I've heard of scalping before too, I haven't tried it yet but I'm definitely not the kind to be not trying anything new if I know that there's a possibility that I can get some more wins but for now I just do DCA and that's it, not that crazy but also not guaranteed a big profit in short-term

295  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is forex trading a hobby or a skill on: April 07, 2024, 08:38:14 AM
Depends on how you do it but I don't even think it should qualify as a hobby because you're risking money and there's no way that you do that with a hobby. I don't even think that it's a hobby no matter how you look at it because hobby needs to be constant thing that you do, I think it never should even be a hobby, you don't need to spend or risk large amounts of your money in most hobbies so that's the reason why I don't believe that it's a hobby, it's a side hustle because you're making money, I don't get why it's a choice between skill though? Of course trading needs skills which means that it's innately skill oriented.
296  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollbit Not Withdrawing my Money for 2 months+ on: April 07, 2024, 07:56:49 AM
OP, it's been two weeks since you're last active. Can you please provide us an update? Has Rollbit managed a communication with you and resolve the case privately? Or have you, perhaps, send them your username in private manner?
It seems that OP isn't planning on getting back the supposed money that was on hold, if there even really was one in the first place, I'm not that good with this kinds of cases as I don't want to assume that OP is not just faking it but a lot of people in the thread are providing some help but it seems that he's not reading of it which is weird if you ask me, I mean if you really need the money then you'd be doing all the listening that you can when other people are giving you the advice and help that you need, kind of weird to not do that kind of thing right? Another thing too is that OP can send images but he didn't bother sending any other compelling evidences or something like that.
297  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [banned mixer] yomix Scam Attention, everyone, stay away immediately!! on: April 07, 2024, 07:00:32 AM
Weird situation. Consider this is a fake accusation [I am not saying it is fake] the mixer representative has no way to defend their service. Anyway, an scam accusation is not a promotion but a warning. Theymos also did not give a clear explanation about scam accusations I think, did he?
I think if the topic has some relevance and is worth discussing but not a promotion for the use of mixer, then it's alright to talk about mixers. If I recall, it's not allowed to recommend or give out a recommendation for mixers to use so I think Scam Accusations of mixers that are doing something is probably not on the alley of being a bad topic to talk about, regards to clear explanation, we can probably just infer.

I'm wondering how you were able to send about 30,000-40,000 USD to a site that I had never dealt with before or had the necessary trust? It's weird !!!
Maybe OP's got some kind of experience with using it that they've been too trusting that there's no scammer mixer out there and that money isn't that much for OP or something like that, I'm just throwing out potential reasons here, that don't that these are all true, maybe OP is just unlucky and YoMix is really a bad mixer service, feels bad that they can't defend themselves here.

Nahh. Don't be fooled by newbies trying to play smart here on the forum. These are accounts created just to beg and ask for loans. So do actually think they would repay such loans back? @ hugeblack is right it's obviously not a newbie but someone just trying to mess around. It's very hard to find out quickly for a newbie about the lending services here on the forum. So how possible did he find it out?. Checking his post history already makes him more suspicious and its better to alert others instead of wasting their time replying him.
Well, I did account for that but who on their right mind would loan this scammer anyway? I'm sure that those that would loan them are probably stupid enough to not check out what needs to be checked out, that's I've said that it's alright to ignore this scammer because no way that anyone would entertain them anyway. I don't really accuse someone as long as there's no conclusive evidence or caught red-handed, for me, it's innocent until proven guilty but if this person is really a scammer here that's been doing this kind of thing before, I think they're wasting their time and they're not going anywhere, either find a job because scams aren't a consistent way to  make money.
299  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I want to buy bitcoin on: April 07, 2024, 04:23:12 AM
I don't think @OP have the money, but needs a loan. a newbie requesting a 1 BTC loan.
When I used the forum for the first time, it took me several weeks to figure out how to post correctly. Therefore, whoever owns this account knows the forum well, so this is most likely a scam.
He's probably doing something that would get him the money though seeing how OP's asking for a loan and would be paying it with an interest of 0.15, probably hit the motherlode somewhere. Your hunch might be right although I'm not going to be too invested on painting OP unless of course they do more suspicious things, newbies asking for loans aren't really taken seriously so I'm not keen on suspecting them as no one here would bite their bait anyway.
300  Other / Off-topic / Re: 73-Year-Old Michigan Woman Believed She Won Over $3M but got SCAMMED for $700K on: April 07, 2024, 03:18:36 AM
What can I say, she’s an old woman and may not understand the way scammers operate these days. It is very important to note that any body who asks you to send money to claim your balance or winning or anything at all is 99% trying to scam you. Considering her age, this could be all the money that she has worked for. It is too much of an amount that I understand how terrible she must feel (unless she is a millionaire/billionaire). I hope this serves as a lesson which people can learn from, and know to not trust anyone.
That's the reason why they're the most targeted, they don't understand technology and they don't have a good way of telling that they're being scammed because it's unfamiliar to them and even if they're cautious, most of the scammers operate in a scheme that isn't too good to be true which means that the scam might look true because it doesn't promise you anything other than the fact that they can continue your subscription on something or they can cancel it. This is definitely the worst time to be an old person, your retirement money (I suppose) getting stolen isn't something you can shrug off, you can't work and that's all that you're relying on, it's such a deplorable scheme to be targeting the weak and old, I hope that there's enough people that are doing whatever they can to fight against these evil, these can't go any longer.
