2861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There are so many fud articles today on: September 01, 2017, 03:52:51 AM
Everywhere I see fud articles about bitcoin today.  I go to Facebook and there's an article on Investopedia and Vice have article calling bubbles.  I go to Yahoo to check my stock portfolio and theres a Motleyfool article spreading fud and then I go to youtube and Business Insider has a video saying Bitcoin is in a bubble.  I go into work and my boss tells me I need to sell my bitcoin because he read an article saying its in a really big bubble.

Is this fud being coordinated?  I'm not reading any of it but today it was impossible to avoid the clickbait titles.

I only a very small amount but i'm not changing a damn thing.
The FUD has always been there and I am not sure it's going to leave because ever since the price of bitcoin started getting more than pizza, then the issue starts and unfortunately it continues to increase anytime the value of bitcoin breaks a new horizon like we are seeing now but what they have been able to do, is to keep people coming in more inquisitive while those of us in, more determined to stay.
2862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thinking about making a Bitcoin mixer - suggestions? on: August 31, 2017, 08:02:36 PM
Is that you in the photo? Is that your company in your signature?

I presume it is in which case your Bitcoin mixing career is already over. There's a reason Bitmixer shut down and there's a reason people use mixers and most of it isn't legal.

What other reason that bitmixer shut down that is more then what he told us himself and if there is something or some more information you are privilege to have, you can inform us other than that, no other reason. I don't see any wrong in owing a mixer and for the gap bitmixer left that op is intending to fill, its better you are early because those are already being filled already.
2863  Economy / Economics / Re: advantages of trading satoshis instead of whole bitcoins on: August 31, 2017, 06:34:39 PM
The high bitcoin price seems to be an obstacle for people who want to invest in it. Some may think, buying only a fraction of a bitcoin makes no sense. what should they do with less then 1 bitcoin?

Why not start listening and trading satoshis on exchanges? People who can not afford an whole bitcoin can buy thousands of satoshis. Of course, that has the same value and everything, but some folks it may help to feel better. I think this would help to become bitcoin more mainstream.

Google did something similar with their stocks. The primary google stock become to expensive, so they started a cheaper one.

what do you think, does this make sense?

I don't see this as a challenge whatsoever because when the price was even at the $1000 a lot of people still trade with the fraction of it without any issue and now its happening that the price is increasing, you just trade on the basis of what you can afford which stays the same irrespective of what the relative value in dollars is saying out there.
2864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WeiMixer - Ethereum Mixing Service on: August 31, 2017, 05:56:27 PM
I sent a small transaction, which shows up in the destination address as canceled (out of gas). It seems there is some kind of error in the smart contract. I sent an email, please check.
And it's over 24 hours since you have posted this but would appreciate if you can share the update or what eventually happen and how its being resolved as well as how supportive is their email address you sent the mail to as well as their customer service response time. A lot of people are really waiting for the update because this is a  project that is coming fresh and issues like this should not happen.

This has been resolved as soon as we saw an email from this user, this wasn't any problem with the mixer or anything of such kind we would like to provide more details but we don't want to expose this user privacy.

I am happy this is being resolved as I have been keeping an eye on the thread for your either your update or the clients update and it's good to know you are very much on point. Also, you need to be more active on the forum in other to tackle issues head on before they degenerate unreasonably. My opinion though...

Anyone who got scammed by people with just one posts do so not out of the moral deficiency of the individual but out of their own foolishness and ignorance because someone made one post and didn't even follow up couple with the fact that the price is even on the high side for even to consider.
2866  Economy / Reputation / Re: Legendary Memebers gone Bad!! on: August 31, 2017, 10:08:53 AM
Ok guys and Girls, lets start this thread. Post all the Legendary Members in this thread that have gone bad (negative trust) - also post the reference and the Story behind the negative trust. Don't post if you don't know or are not sure!

There is nothing wrong in making all his list but don't also forget that it could be a newbie that is behind those legendary account for the mere fact that there is free sale of account on the forum. Also, I think you also not to go and clear your own negative rating first to have a full moral justification for this list you are compiling.
2867  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Pumping 5000$ ? on: August 31, 2017, 09:14:08 AM
Hello all !
I'm new trade alt. I have a question here and I need your help.
BTC prices are rising strongly, we can invest at this time with co-BTC ? or you can tell me what altcoin should invest ?
Thanks All Trader  Cry

What you need at this time is not even the coin to buy or whether to still invest in bitcoin but the requisite knowledge to understanding how bitcoin trade works in the first place before deciding whether to go into trading or not because it might not be rosy as it seems for those looking at it from the outside and if one is not properly grounded in such knowledge you may lose out of frustration because things are not going according to plan.
2868  Economy / Economics / Re: Tokens Vs. Equity on: August 31, 2017, 04:56:05 AM
The startups who are creating market places where they use their token for services, could in fact replace the means of investing in equity? The reason, while the business increases their customer base and profits, the token also increases in value. And with the token, you can liquidate anytime, unlike equity. The only value equity has now would be ownership. Unless you have a buyer who wants control of the company, I see it difficult to actually sell equity when the token is there. Let me know your thoughts. Cheers.

I agree with this line of reasoning when it comes to transfer of equity in the business but a deeper look also will mean equity could also be sold because the highest number of tokens represent the one who owns the control which is equity as well. So, if tokens are readily converted, so also my equity because if I want out, all I need to do is to sell all the tokens allocated to me and that's all l, while I still retain my job as probably COO or manager, I already lost ownership.

2870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: November real test for Bitcoin ? on: August 30, 2017, 09:56:05 PM
Hello Guys , i am planning to invest in Bitcoin but after doing some research i found that some experts are suggesting that we can see more fluctuation in the month of November as Bitcoin can have another hardfork somewhere around in Novemeber when Block 494,784 gets mined. Segwit2x Team plans to enable the Bitcoin's miners to run new software at block 494,784 and if its enacted it can create another hardofork for Bitcoin. So what does this means for us investors , worst fluctuation that we saw in the month of July or the prices will only fall to the current level ?

Let me know your thoughts.

EDIT:  Guys i guess there is some confusion here about my question. I am not questioning the Long Term Value of Bitcoin. My Question here is that how much price can dip this time before it rockets again.  Thanks  Smiley

On how dip price can get, is not what anyone can predict but I know now matter dip the price got, bitcoin will bounce again and that's a fact. All I see happening in November is a repetition of what we witnessed in August and this thread is a beginning of the series of threads that will follow in the coming days as we had it in days building towards August 1.
2871  Other / Meta / Re: Removal of 60s timeout in case of wrong password on: August 30, 2017, 09:03:14 PM
Hi. Now that you added the annoying Google reCaptcha, could you please remove from the logging process the 60s timeout before being allowed re-trying to login? Or at least set it to 5s?
It is extremely annoying to have to complete a second reCaptcha to be told one have to wait 45s more seconds before doing it again, for a third time!!!

Any potent administrator would do every means to keep his forum safe under any circumstances and the moment one control is weak or not achieving the intended objective, another one is put in place and that's exactly what is going on here and even at any point in time when this one is not enough and there is need to always do email activation, it will be implemented and you will be forced to comply if you still want to be welcomed into the forum.
2872  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where will be the next bitcoin-like bubble? on: August 30, 2017, 06:42:09 PM
In the U.S., there are 13.6 million people with $1 million or more in wealth. So we are not in a bubble yet,,, they did not buy in yet.

In addition to that, USA is just one country in the whole world and with the massive population of the world, couple with advancement in technology and the quest for freedom by the teeming large population of the youth, then all I can say is that, this is just the beginning of a new thing that we ourselves will be surprised on the amount of impossibilities that would be possible with bitcoin.
2873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the NSA identified Satoshi Nakamoto on: August 30, 2017, 06:12:44 PM
Anyone who care to read that article will have no doubt to agree that its mere misleading topic and nothing more and its also a proclamation of a particular method the NSA is using and how effective it could be and not a single report on someone they have been able to identify the method with. I believe if NSA did find Satoshi, they would definitely not release their method to the public not only would it affect them, but also create a weakness for someone to exploit.
2874  Other / Meta / Re: Q: Should hilariousandco *really* be a moderator of bitcointalk A: no on: August 29, 2017, 10:07:37 PM
Ever since i have been exposed to the issue of quickseller versus others, it has always been one issue after the other and up till now, it does not seems to come to an end. I think there is need to separate issues whether the moderator has default in his responsibility is what should be the deciding factor in determining whether he should continue or not and this is what every who has commented freely have agreed. The moment he start failing in that or the trust issues start affecting the main function, we can then start this discussion.
2875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would any government in crisis consider storing their cash in bitcoins? on: August 29, 2017, 09:14:12 PM
Government in crisis, bitcoin would be the least of their problems because a stable country is one that can think of development or any research in new areas what will be on their mind is survival which is about getting support from outside country to take them out of the situation it is after they sort themselves out, they can start thinking of the opportunity bitcoin is offering which they can then consider whether to keep their funds.
2876  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Weekly Analysis: Will It Break $4500? on: August 29, 2017, 04:53:55 PM
Even as at now, we have surpassed that amount and currently we are now at $4557 and it seems the end is not here with us soon. I feel this is the time that the benefit of SegWit is being felt now because other than that, I dont see any other benefit of SegWit. I hope the consistency will be maintained without any need for panics but I see this as a further shame to those who are bent on seeing bitcoin fail to sent a message that its not happening any time soon and definitely not today.
2877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you even gamble? on: August 29, 2017, 04:20:05 PM
This post is not intended to criticize gamblers, i am just curious what drives a gambler to really gamble even when the odds are against him or even reach the point where he'd rather lose everything he has than to stop doing his gambling addiction. I said the following because i have seen friends and some relatives on my mother's side literally lose everything they have like family, wealth etc. and only a few managed to stand up again. And some of that few still gamble to this day. And an uncle was found dead from a gunshot wound, whoever did it was unknown. But rumors say that it is one of all the guys he owed large money and never payed. While a friend(not close, just a neighbor) died from suicide because his wife left him along with his 14y.o daughter and 3y.o son. Now, I ask this because i dont get it. I just don't. I mean is it even worth it? If you ask me, i don't know. That is why i am asking. And the reason why i did it here is because we all know i can't ask a gambler with this kind of questions face to face because doing that would mean mean that I wanna start a fight. I mean that might how a gambler reacts to this kind of question. Please share your thoughts on this.

The same reason why some people decide to play soccer, while some decide to go to college, others decide to go to medical school while some others decide to go the route of gambling all for one quest, to make money and that is the primary motive of everybody and if someone can get it simply by taking some amount of calculated risks and limited time, then there is no need for castigation so far he is meeting his needs through such endeavour and not stealing or duping others of their resources.
2878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquiao vs. Horn - REMATCH! on: August 29, 2017, 03:27:34 PM
What can you say about this rematch? The match is locked on but there will be things to be set before settling an exact date and venue.
Source : http://www.bbc.com/sport/boxing/40972273

I would not be interested in this game. Although I would want Pacquiao  to win but I still feel he should retire. He is too old for the game and its time to do more positive things to the community and the entire country at large. Boxing is for the young and brutal people and Pacquiao  is just too old for that but if the match eventually happens then my bet will be on my main man Pacquiao  hopefully he wont disappoint this time like the last game.
2879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria's Central Bank Endorses Bitcoin on: August 29, 2017, 10:55:45 AM
This is great news! In fact, central banks of different countries should start on doing the same. Introducing Bitcoin is healthy for the economy of the countrt because it is a mean of investment that would circulate the money of the country around. And with the central bank themselves endorsing will entice investors that the Bitcoin has huge potential to spike up in the future making them more aggresive of Buying and investing into it. In my country, it is still to be introduced to the people as a whole because are still not familiar with it.

A further read on the link would have solved this mis-information. Its is not an endorsement rather its an expression of opinion by a top functionary of the Central Bank which was credited to him. The same way other central banks governors will equally express an opinion on the current matter but this does not inteprete to adoption because a lot of process as well as discussions will have to be done before this can be implemented even at the low level.
2880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suddenly, Russia Plans To Ban Cryptocurrency Sales To ‘Ordinary People’ on: August 29, 2017, 08:33:10 AM
This is the joke of the century and the highest hypocrisy that I have ever seen for the government representative to come openly to deny what was said just few days ago. They are the one that know that bitcoin is good for some category of people while it is bad for the ordinary citizen. People need to start seeing this level of hypocrisy and its shows that government is scared of the liberation this will bring to the people and with this they decide to go the route of using fear to discourage people.
