3761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasonable bankroll for new gambling website? on: February 10, 2017, 02:02:12 PM
From the way I see it, I will say it depends on your capacity what is there is that you should be transparent about it and inform the users about it. In the sense that if you cannot afford 100btc as jackpot dont announce it thinking that no one will win it. It might surprise you that so far you have implemented the provably fair system, on that same day some one might win it as in the case of prime dice. Set maximum win of what you can afford, with reason amount to wager for that maximum winning.
3762  Economy / Economics / Re: First investments in bitcoins on: February 09, 2017, 02:26:23 PM
Hi everybody, I am quite new in this new market and have a lot of interest in it. After advices from friends, i have put some money in Ethereum by the fact that i like their project which has a global view on the world. Moreover, i have also put some money in Monero.

Now, i am confused to invest in the long run for some bitcoins. Why ? Because prices are already really high but after reading a lot analysis, predictions are quite high.
What do you think about investment in some bitcoins at this high Price ? Thanks guys

Your own is even better as you are able to surround yourself with calibre of people who are knowledgeable about how the crypto works and I must say that their advice is not all bad but just be sure that no investment whatsoever is risk free. In my own case, I learned the hard way by having to fall prey of hyip before finding out about the forum and get to know I have been foolish when I thought I was smart.
3763  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brexit may soon become a reality? on: February 09, 2017, 09:12:04 AM
CNN put out an article today noting that the British House of Commons approved the Brexit Bill in order to go further with the UK's departure from the European Union. I fully beleive that the decision to leave was the right decision and even though the cost to leave is going to be high, I still think it was best for the country of Britain itself.

What do you think about the almost finalized departure of Britain from the EU? Anyone here from Britain experiencing anything first hand?

Here is the link to the article by the way! - http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/08/europe/brexit-bill-parliament-vote-article-50/index.html

From the day the election took place, its already a reality its just a matter of time every other thing is just foot dragging. A Prime Minister resigned as a result of this and you are saying its not a reality? They have made their choice and ready to live by it and I am sure if things are not set in motion soon, it might start to create unnecessary tension around UK.
3764  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are terrorists only muslim in religion? on: February 09, 2017, 09:09:04 AM
Anybody who has the ability to maim someone else is a terrorist irrespective of religion. A man who kill his brother or a gang that go about killing rival gang members are all terrorist so far they did it for a course they believe in. The same thing with Muslims that have turned themselves that way thinking they are fighting a just cause. They are all terrorist with Christians inclusive who even kills his neighbour but the difference is someone mentions a name another does not mention any name.
3765  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World War III ? on: February 08, 2017, 06:29:08 PM
World War I and II Had passed. All the countries tied in United Nation. However recently there seem grouping countries. They join in the military coalition. Islamic countries have allied. Some comunists countries also take position with the winning Russia in Syria helped by Iran.

US , China and other super power countries may prepare all the possibilities. Will World War III Problably happen? Where will it start from?

Lets just hope this does not happen because when it does, it might even wipe out the entire earth, the world leaders know that and that is why they are not quick to just see that as an option and make a conflict to be a full blown out war. If it eventually happen, then its wont be about soldiers any longer it will be about those who can control the flow of nature in terms of win to achieve the maximum devastation.
3766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to choose hi or lo in dice games ? what you have in mind when you gamble ? on: February 08, 2017, 06:28:05 PM
For me, so far I have established that the site is provably fair or unfair and its yet to be busted so I assume its fair which means no matter what I do, I will win if chance is on my side and lose accordingly if otherwise is the case. So I just go for the one my reflects go for. Some times I will have high in mind then ended choosing low but it does not matter I will win if I will win and lost as well if that will be the case. No hard feelings.
3767  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which is the best economic system? on: February 08, 2017, 06:22:26 PM
Quite a number of people will agree that there is no best economic system as even in high school where all these types are explained, they all have their advantages and disadvantages but as for me, I will still prefer capitalism over here when people see rich men do things they just inteprete it to waste of money and that there are several people who are suffering but I hold the opinion that so far you didnt engage in anything illegal, then you dont owe anybody an explanation on how you spend your money its  a free world where you have the ability to stretch yourself to your utmost capacity.
3768  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin charges and taxes on: February 08, 2017, 06:24:28 AM
The mining fees paid during transactions are the bitcoin taxes or there are other taxes ??

How can one compare service charge to tax? Tax are way more higher than service charge and also will be ata percentage which will be applied on all transactions no matter how big or small. And if we say tax, it needs to be regulated by a recognised agency which is absent in the case of bitcoin. Even mere examination of all the principles of taxation, its totally different from the transaction fees.
3769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adam Back thinks he is the inventor of Bitcoin on: February 08, 2017, 06:18:00 AM
Anyone can think about anything or whoever at least that right is still available to all of us pending the time government might say its a sin to think. Even me I can think I am the inventor of Qtum since I am wearing its signature. The way the controversy about Satoshi is going these days, I am sure that even if Satoshi himself should come out he will do more than just announcement to say he is the real one because we have had more than enough Satoshis.
3770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin saving on: February 08, 2017, 06:06:30 AM
Even without the 52 weeks challenge anyone who don't wants to get broke should by default learn how to save in time of surplus. But saving in the case of bitcoin could either turn out to be the best decision or just be the worst decision and the reasion is just the majority, sees it as a commodity which can be traded therefore having effect on its price which swings at will. For me, I will want to save in a more stable currency.
3771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to analyze an ICO project going to be scam or not? on: February 08, 2017, 06:02:02 AM
I will tell you the truth. If the scam is good enough you won't be able to spot it that easily. There are however some clear indicators that we are dealing with fraudulent developers:

1. Unrealistic or hyper optimistic goals.
2. Stolen, copied whitepaper or paper without technical details.
3. No transparency, no real names behind the coin, no social media accounts, or fake LinkedIn profiles.
4. Self Moderated thread is usually slightly suspicious too, but that is rather minor fact, might be a way to deter idiots and trolls.
5. No real purpose, or project overly similar to already existing ones.

These are good suggestions but at the same time some of us are too lazy to check all those things you mentioned for example white paper even the one for bitcoin, I have not read as those things just bore me because of the technicals that are embedded in it.

With all other suggestions even some doing more by going to the extent of appointing reputable members of the forum as escrows or manager and the likes still end up scamming people of their resources.

For me, all the suggestions are only precautions and not a determinant. But some though are red flags
3772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Qtum]UTXO based POS Smart Contract Platform | Crowdsale March 2017 on: February 07, 2017, 09:03:20 PM

I am very impressed not only because a well known business magazine devoted an article for Qtum but also how long an article most of his content about tech-savvies is. Maybe is the most complete with many details compared with the rest I have read until now. Moreover it's really amazing the strategic and financial backers who support the Qtum project; that means is very promising, revolutionary, innovative and of course profitable project for them. In addition I wonder what is the name of top accountancy firm which is hidden for now. Last but not least, what is the meaning, that is, what is the impact globally of what Dai said about the high demand of the 'Blockchain of China' ?

With all endorsements coming from right left and centre in positive way I am convincingly more sure about the success of this project as even I am part of in other to promote to the right audience. It would be better if all this support will continue even after the crowsale as this will in no small way guarantee that this project will achieve the very objective of its creation..
3773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free Bytes on Feb 11 ? on: February 07, 2017, 08:33:18 PM
I saw this all over twitter and I was a little bit skeptical and would appreciate a response from any one in the know. Why would you asked that we should linked our address then advised that all btc should be moved to that same address because the number of bytes to receive will be in proportion to the amount of btc in that address on the date of the distribution. If you want to give free bytes, why not just do that without any condition. My opinion though.
3774  Economy / Lending / Re: 1 btc loan for my up and coming uk cannabis seed import company ! on: February 07, 2017, 08:01:33 PM
One bitcoin is worth $1,000 right now and you have amazon gift cards worth £1,500 and £360 paypal. That means you have £1,860, which when converted to USD is $2,000. So why not just sell all of those, even for 50% off, you'll get $1,000. I don't get why you still have to get a loan unless you plan on scamming people with those reversible and non-securable collaterals.

This is the best analysis I have read even me myself I can imagine myself borrowing $1000 to pay back interest with all the pressure where I have something that even worth more in value. In addition to a newbie opeining account to ask for a loan not even a small amount, he just went straight to ask for $1000 as if that is 1000 satoshi.
3775  Economy / Lending / Re: I need $200 on: February 07, 2017, 07:42:35 PM
As a great US president once said,

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

...maybe he wasn't so great after all.

A scan of the hospital bill might help convince people of your intentions.

You made your point must you now bring a particular country into it and not only Nigeria that people of shameful behavior are. For me, I would rather just individuals rather than their country.

Hello,

I need help here, I need $200, don't know how things work here, but have been a member of this forum for while, especially digital goods section, I need money to pay my brother hospital bills.. I dont understand how things work here, but if you want to lend, Comment so I will PM and tell you what I have to be use as collaterals, you can check my past trade in digtal section, or if you will require my service, I will work for you, like bulk edu mails, lynda premium, grammarly premium, Google voice account..

THANKS

You probably should have known how things work around here and the loan you are asking is like .2btc which is a whole lot of money. The collaterals you have, it would have been better if you just disclose here for everyone to be the judge of its worth.
3776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Frustrates You Most When Using Bitcoin? on: February 05, 2017, 02:35:48 PM
Nothing frustrates me more than when I needed to make some transfers to another bitcoin account and I have to handle the pressure of just keeping it together hoping that the other party will fufil his own part of the agreement because I know that the moment the coins leave my account, then its gone forever but if there is a way that I can reverse such transaction in case I am duped I am sure I will be less frustrated.
3777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who to blame for the increasing transaction fee? on: February 05, 2017, 02:18:03 PM
We all know that recently, a huge backlog of transaction of at least 50,000 at any point of time.
And one of the solution is to increase the transaction fee. Which defeat the purpose of micro-transaction
with bitcoin.

Is this the miners fault alone? Who do you think need to step up  to stop this madness
of increasing transaction fees?

What's your thought about it?

There is no way to avoid this as it will continue to be on the increase because we dont have a choice or else the transaction will take forever to complete. Assigning blame will not really reduce the cost but the wallet managers like Xapo or Blockchain are those that should do more to reduce the cost to a bearable minimum.
3778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is banned on: February 05, 2017, 02:08:43 PM
How can bitcoin become global when not so few countries, including Russia and China, ban it?

I will say lets wait till when that eventually happens before we begin to know what to say about it because those two countries you have there have not made their position known to the best of my knowledge as regarding banning bitcoin. China has the largest mining farms for bitcoin and they largely have control over the price of bitcoin. Russia on the same has not banned bitcoin as we have had several conferences on the subject matter coming from over there.
3779  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Every Country Needs Bitcoin Payment Processors on: February 04, 2017, 09:21:43 AM
I understand your position and its a good idea and at the same time its an untapped market for countries where bitcoin is just getting the right awareness and exposure. But where the issue lies is the fact that most businesses are not ready to take the risk of having a new payment system without recourse to what the law says and this has been a bane of problem especially in countries where government have taken a position on the negative about bitcoin itself.
3780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When did you start gambling? (Because of BCT Promotion?) on: February 04, 2017, 09:12:23 AM
When did you start gambling online (and offline if you do not mind sharing)? Is it because of the awesome Games and Rounds forum at Bitcointalk?

Do you only start gambling after you use Bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency) because you feel that you cannot be tracked?

I will say the promotions on bitcointalk to a large extent influence my online gambling in short I know no other online gambling site without its source from bitcointalk. Although, I was exposed to offline gambling but later had to drop it due to the position that occupies in the society but now I can do it conveniently at my pleasure and thanks to bitcointalk for that feat achieved.
