about 1 month now with no takers, I may be interested - let me know your best price GBP atm & for shipping to Spain (I also can get good rates for this if it needs to go via courier), I haven't mined before so would appreciate the tech support necessary on how to connect this up & to get it mining being included in the deal

cheers

I can build you a new machine at a moderate price shipped.
I have to say though;
Quote
I want it for mining and using it for cracking passwords.
It sounds to me as if you have never done either one, and this is a rather low end machine for both. Don't get yourself in trouble doing the latter

likuidxd hi, I would like to start mining later this year, maybe in April or May all being well & would be interested in a new built machine at a moderate price shipped with some tech support to get it connected up & running, I'm in Spain & have a lot of experience in the best ways to ship to here from most countries in the world - where would you ship from - (East coast USA?) Also would you advise waiting for any particular future developments that may be coming out later this year? I'd be most interested to hear your recommendations & approx quotes plus any advise you may have, posting publicly in case anyone else has any suggestions, many thanks  Smiley

It appears that this is an issue of mistaken identity. I was just informed that the person who did these things is not actually connected to you. I apologize for that.

I have edited my earlier statement to reflect this.

Do we really want to be running a community here where people express a concern the accused offer assassination market payments to "uncover" evidence against their accusers? I don't think this is acceptable.

actually he's offering a market payment just for info/evidence, which would be of great amusement I'm sure in Thailand where an actual "assassination market payments" say as executed by a couple of semi-pro drive by motorbike kids would cost way less than this - hint, don't holiday in BKK - jk  Wink

lol

Just a shot over your bows matey, it's how I do DD, if it were to cause a run on the FPS&T bank then it's a shaky business model that a single post from a non client can bring it down/rock it such or it's rats disembarking the sinking ship & either way I'd like to know first before I'm invited on board or not as the case may be

Rule Britannia & all that, Pip pip

Otoh

... so you'll fast track my account then, yep  Wink

Oh, well hmmm.... Sure I can get you into this rare investment opportunity but its very exclusive and I'm doing you a favor here by just requiring a 200 BTC non-refundable sign up fee.  Trust me you will make that back in a week.  Oh and did I mention you need to jump on this now... I have so many waiting on the list.  Lets get this on the DL after all, I LIKE You.

If I were you, Otoh, I'd take it Wink

PM-ing P@40 right now, even worst case I'll get something back from writing an expose of how I got you all got plundered so, that & shorting at 10:1 on Bitcoinica when I publish it

PS Pirate - I've edited you in a 50' luxury pirate yacht (with secret underwater lasers) in my first post so that you can scour the Carib for Tod/Tom Williams & avenge all those who've been scammed of their BTC - hence the delay in PM-ing, I'm now right on it...

This is likely a scam, put me on the list... Lol.
many peeps made very sound returns from Mr Mad for up to 20 years & there's no claw back with BTC  Grin

it wouldn't take very long at these rates of return to get one's investment back & so then to be just playing with the house's BTC or more accurately other later investor's BTC  Wink
3072  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: First Pirate Savings and Trust on: February 03, 2012, 01:22:05 PM
having just come across this thread a day or 2 ago & read it all through I feel it's about time for the fortnightly 'why this looks so obviously dodgy' post again, so here goes, it's similarity to a Madoff ponzy scheme in that it's very hard to get in to, by referral only, peeps clamoring to invest & singing it & it's maker's praises, pays above average returns, set up & run by a person of high reputation (Mr Mad was prior head of the NY stock Xe), suspected of making these great & regular returns by doing something not quite kosher (front running his stock broking clients), feeder funds appearing & referral bonuses, no oversight & doesn't allow due diligence (this understandable in the circumstances), marked communal hostility to any nae sayers (FO Troll etc), a clever humorous & self depreciating strategy of drawing in investors with reverse psychology, building an on-call extra large fund that could be drawn down for that fateful day when one sails off on a spanking new 50 foot yacht (with a not so ironic little skull & cross bones pendent) in to the Caribbean sunset - I have too much imagination, I know  Smiley

ARRRRRG... My booty has been plundered!

Hayday of pirating appears to be 1600 - 1750, so though it still goes on probably being born 300+ or 400 years too late would be more accurate & funtimes, the later ones mostly ending up on the gibbet - though free-booting in the US independence & civil wars many found rewarding

PMing you now to ask to be added to the waiting list for new accounts & hope that you won't make me walk the plank so that your motley crew of jolly backers can keel-haul me  Tongue

edit: an ever expanding need for more funds to be deposited (bigger volume new clients) but playing hard to get (some funds returned, no new accounts atm) as this can easily be done with existing peeps wanting more of those big returns, preferring large investors to the small fry (Mr Mad liked Hedge funds & banks more towards the end)

if this is as profitable for Pirate as for the investors why hasn't he amassed enough funds by now to be self financing & so keep 100% of the profit, also knowing & being trusted by rl peeps with $10,000s of cash to move around wouldn't some of those be interested in fully funding his ops, it's not like buying BTC anonymously via cash is so hard from the States atm afaik - perhaps they could sell something on TSR to raise a few, a BTC back to cash op might make more sense, in fairness I can see some scenarios where certain peeps would have a lot of cash & just want no hassle BTC regularly so I'm keeping an open mind on all the above synchronicity for the moment. I'll PM P@40 after I've meditated upon it with some Cuba libres, perhaps after all my freely given analysis & input he'll fast track my account  Wink
3073  Economy / Economics / Re: Smuggling physical cash in your knickers - so last century on: February 03, 2012, 09:31:34 AM
If they want to transfer the money across borders in a relatively short time, bitcoin could suffice IMHO.

And they could just cash out bitcoins in San Marino's bank?

say that Mario wished to move €10,000 then he buys 1,270 BTC for $6 each, now he probably won't mind too much if these increase in value over the short time it takes to move them & convert them in to his currency or PM of choice, but he would be upset if they fell in value so to hedge against this he buys & deposits 127  BTC on Bitcoinica & shorts the price @ 10:1, now he is covered for any price fall on his 1,270 BTC as he has effectively bought them insurance for €100, a big rise of say 6% which wipes out his short still gives him €600 gain on his main holding so overall €500 up - it's not perfect as extreme volatility would damage him if it went up say 6% then down say 15% but refinements could be built in with limit orders & stops I expect, anyway just a quick though as to how it could be done & how it may develop

also assuming less than a 6% rise then he's left with his 127 BTC short @ 10:1, which he can keep as a gamble of a spike or move down, or adjust the base price with some more buys, liquidate prob for much less than the €100 it cost, etc...

This is interesting idea, but remember that regular Joe has trouble figuring out what buttons do on his microwave, far less elaborate fluctuation protected digital cryptocurrency transfer system.

Let's face it, Bitcoin is not ready yet for mass adoption.

cashing out in San Marino is easy & they don't even need to physically take BTC there, before they would take € cash & pay it in to a SM bank account, now they can just sell it on Gox & send the proceeds there, the problem is moving € cash in Italy in to BTC, as the authorities are cracking down on black money they can't just put it in their Italian bank accounts & move it to Gox but it shouldn't be too hard to think up ways to buy BTC there with cash & facilitators will no doubt appear on the scene, like Pirate for example in the loans thread, this also deals with the second objection of it being too complicated - as for a fee it's all taken care of for you, but any young person should be able to work out how to DIY, if more exchange controls & restrictions on cash purchases become the norm in Europe & around the world then this will become more & more relevant, we may see The First Pirate Savings & Trust doing an IPO for international expansion

3075  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do Europeans deposit/withdraw into Mt. Gox? on: February 02, 2012, 08:49:42 PM
the funds that I sent to Gox last Friday cleared on Monday np & I too am a long term trader on Intersango, recently started to do quite a lot of business there again, will see how it goes when their fees click in on the 4th Feb

agreed, it's a casino atm with potential price swings of up to 30% on extreme days for better or worse, which is why I made the 1B$ issued BTC market cap thread, then the Italians can just shove a pendrive down their knicks or cloud source it
3078  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a 100 BTC advance. Can repay over next 2 weeks by mining (continual repay) on: February 01, 2012, 06:16:12 PM
OK - I go check the PM & send now
3079  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a 100 BTC advance. Can repay over next 2 weeks by mining (continual repay) on: February 01, 2012, 05:56:32 PM
I can do this 100 BTC right now for 103 BTC payable in 2 weeks time, just straight BTC transfer to me or a Mt.Gox code - I don't mine as yet so gradual repayment isn't necessary though you can send it in chunks every few days if you like np
3080  Economy / Marketplace / Re: gold or silver bars as heirlooms? on: February 01, 2012, 05:42:01 PM
now that you're older & wiser you can use it instead as seed capital for your very own grow op though  Tongue
