3081  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S3+ is junk and no support from BITMAIN on: December 29, 2014, 07:45:07 AM
@el_rlee,

Messaged him to contact you.  Give him a half a day or a full day to reach out to you, it is Sunday for him

Hi. What's the regular price of a controller board? Why not make them available in the webshop/resellers? Many people are left in the rain with exactly the same problem... bricked controller board.

They're not for open sale as it were and more reserve stock for warranties or customers in need. Opening up the sale of spares that aren't for still in production miners risks not being able to service warranty replacements because people tend to hoard.

What are you talking? Please give any proof/source for not totally making that up.
Do you actually get paid by the posting?

I got contacted by BITMAINTECH - let's give this another try.

No... I was just explaining why they're not advertised for open sale on the webstore. Its not acceptable to run out of limited components and so there has to be tight control on giving them out.

Did BITMAIN loose the contact to the supplier making them?

No, certain components like customised controllers and hashing boards aren't going to be made again unless there is a serious problem / shortfall.

I have 9 S2 blades if anyone is interested.

Hey,

Are they still for sale?

PM him, that's a very old post.

3084  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CryptoKube Container Data Centers on: December 29, 2014, 07:21:07 AM
Costs are as follows.   Remember all of our components are rated (no fires from the use of wrong cabesl)for the this type of application.  Yes you can buy a container and just cut holes but we are pros and do the job right.  The units are well constructed and not a backyard hack job.  We build a great product that is for the miner who wants to be serious about Mining and protecting their investment as well as having the option of controlling and owning their own data center.

3 racks. $1500
Container (new). $4000
3 hi performance german fans.  $3000.
Fan controls. 600
Louvers 500
Insulation and framing inside walls. 3500
2 steel doors. 1500
Door handles/ locks.  250
10 pdus $4000
Paint. 1200
Container Modifications. 5500
Electrical labour. 3400
Electrical panels. 3500
Filter wall fabrication   1500
Enviro monitoring.  1500
Misc cables and components.  1000

Thanks for the information.

3086  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 10.6TH miners for immediate global shipping (Including C1, SP20, SP35) on: December 29, 2014, 06:45:45 AM
Not to sound rude or shit on your prices but y does it cost the same to ship an sp20 and an sp35?? Isnt the sp20 super micro compared to the sp35?? I would want the spondoolies miners but their price is also pretty high considering they are used but again im not trying to be rude or crap on your thread but i gotta ask.

Of course, you're free to ask. Shipping to US only varies a small amount between the two because its still a hefty brick and the SP20 is surprisingly light. Shipping to EU is a flat rate for up to 25kg so weight doesn't matter.

If you PM me your location I can give you a more accurate quote on shipping as well. I have to be conservative and include the possibility of eastern EU shipping which is significantly more expensive. Don't want to have to revise the price up on anyone.
3087  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, 1155GH, Jan 8th shipping [Sales Open] on: December 29, 2014, 06:42:39 AM
Can the S-5 hash any alt coin that are based on SHA256? (on Alt Coin Pools)
Does the internal or controller software allow it?

(Is it capable?)

Yes, altcoin mining [on the same encryption] is not a function of hardware or firmware. As long as the altcoin pool isn't terrible, it'll do it.
3088  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 29, 2014, 06:40:38 AM
My pump died within 2 months of batch 2!

I've emailed bitmain for rma details...

Anyone else had this problem in batch 2??

It's a painful process with syscooling.  They will want multiple videos of troubleshooting it with various tutorials that they forward to you.  It could take over two weeks.  My pump was DOA and after back and forth I bought a XSPC that is build much better.  Although at about 70 usd.

Careful with those, I've had about 20 failed XSPC pumps over the years, at least. The good high quality pumps tend to cost an arm and a leg unfortunately, so XSPC always looks enticing.
3089  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 29, 2014, 06:39:47 AM
Anybody use BITMAIN's ANTPOOL site if so my workers keep popping in and out when I use the P2P link but not the solo link can anyone help. I like P2P better ?

I've had no problems with the solo side, but have not tried the P2P side.
3090  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 29, 2014, 06:39:16 AM
yeah tried that, and downloaded an older version of zadig to try that.

I'm out of ideas, sorry. Could be anything software wise causing it, or simply hardware. Please contact BitmainWarranty if you would like to arrange a replacement (if you bought directly from Bitmain). Else, contact your reseller.
3091  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PSU PCI-E Wattage? And Some General PSU Info? on: December 29, 2014, 06:36:52 AM
You don't need AD2PSU. Most types of unit power blades individually, and so you can power a few of the blades via one PSU and a few more via others. Do NOT connect two power supplies to anything which is electrically joined (ie a shared hashing board).

PCI-E 6 pin is officially rated for 75W, however virtually all bitcoin designs ask for 150+. Less ask for 200+, and even less 250+W.

You can see the PSU resource in my sig for what connectors specific PSUs have and other information.
3092  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool: Pushing forward Decentralization on: December 29, 2014, 05:01:43 AM
Why does antpool hold my some coins after 24 hour payout I thought there was no fee ? This is what was held back - 0.00037873 btc

There isn't a fee, those earnings likely were either granted after the withdrawal cutoff.
3093  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP35 Setup [HD] on: December 29, 2014, 03:50:06 AM
What would be the reason to go with this if you can get 3 SP20s, just under the same hash rate, for almost half the price right now?

I'm debating to get one of these for home, but the current pricing makes it around $800 more then 3 SP20s if I was to buy from the Group Buy...

Density, includes $800 of PSUs, slightly better efficiency, better ambient temperature response, no MOQ and extremely low noise levels (if you can feed it low ambient or underclock a bit).
3094  Economy / Auctions / Re: Advertise in Dogie's Comprehensive Guides [Round17] on: December 29, 2014, 03:35:34 AM
Auction has ended:

Bitmain: 4 @ 0.3
Empty :  1 @ 0.3

Round 18 can be found here.
3095  Economy / Auctions / Advertise in Dogie's Comprehensive Guides [Round18] on: December 29, 2014, 03:34:26 AM
What is being auctioned? Why?
Non intrusive ad space in my setup guides is being publicly auctioned. I work for the community full time and am not funded by the community. Donations have not exceeded $100 in total this year and so I have to find a way to keep the guides sustainable and FREE for the average consumer. Selling ad space is one such trial.

Ad Format

  • Leaderboard style (728x90px), static images (jpg, gif, png), non annoying colors.
  • Ads may not misrepresent, lie, be inappropriate, be (or link to) NSFW content. I reserve the right to reject ads for other reasons or remove ads even after they have been accepted.

  • There are 5 ad slots for sale. One slot will be placed after sections 2, 4 and 6 in all the guides listed at the bottom of the post.
  • I will randomise which ad is placed in which slot on each guide so each slot receives the same impressions.
  • The ads last at least 10 days starting from when they are put up. Traffic is expected to be 15,000 impressions per slot over the period.
  • This traffic is exceptionally targeted to the hardware subforum, and more specifically to those who have either bought or are looking to buy miners.

Auction Format

  • Auction will run for approximately 8 days, to end at midnight London time / 3PM PDT / 6PM EDT on Monday 5th January.
  • Post your bids in this thread. Prices must be stated in BTC per slot. You must state the max number of slots you want.
  • The notation "2 @ 0.30" means 2 slots for BTC 0.30 each. Not 2 slots for 0.30 BTC total.
  • If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will have his slots filled first.
  • Bidding starts at BTC 0.30. All bid prices must be evenly divisible by BTC 0.05.

I reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made. In particular, bids from people with less than 15 activity points are likely to be rejected. I recommend not getting into a bidding war with someone who has less than 15 activity points, as their bids might not be accepted, but your latest bids will still stand. If you need to know right away whether someone's bids will be accepted, PM me.

You must pay for your slots within 24 hours of receiving the payment address otherwise your slots may be sold to someone else. I will send you the payment information via forum PM from this account ("dogie", user ID 87869). You might receive false payment information from scammers pretending to be me. They might even have somewhat similar usernames. Be careful.

Taxes
There is only tax due to EU and UK bidders, and there is no additional cost to anyone (apart from me). Just clarifying to making sure its a level playing field and collecting any legally required taxes.

US and rest of world   - bid as normal, no VAT.
VAT registered UK businesses - will be invoiced an additional 20% VAT on bid prices [which they can later reclaim at no cost]
VAT registered EU businesses - bid as normal, please let me know your VAT registration number.
Non VAT registered UK          - bid as normal, I will pay 20% tax and take the hit.
Non VAT registered EU          - bid as normal, I will pay 20% tax and take the hit.

Dogie's Miner Setup Guides:
.
Dogie's USB Setup Guides:
.
Dogie's General Guides:

tldr for getting started:
  • Starting bid is BTC 0.30 per slot, bid increment is BTC 0.05.
  • 5 slots being sold
  • Bid using "slots @ price each" notation (3 @ 0.30 means 3 slots @ BTC 0.30 each)

Visvas, your code is different from every other guide ive found, sadly it still does not work for me. Thanks though.
http://tinypic.com/r/ezg1g8/8

so on 4.8 if i unplugg the u3 i get this, and if i replugg and list devices it gives me- Usb List: failed to open :10

Probably a hardware issue, most likely vreg bugging out.

Hmm, the lock is a separate issue and usually requires a windows restart to clear. Then replug and check zadig again because it can drop.
3097  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 10.6TH miners for immediate global shipping (Including C1, SP20, SP35) on: December 29, 2014, 02:09:37 AM
Lowered some prices, added X1, C1, SP20, SP35
3098  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Fans for ANTMiner S5 on: December 29, 2014, 01:45:31 AM
I'll have to check fan headers once I get my unit so I know exactly how the headers behave, but likely the best solution will be to improvise a case over a second fan. Even cling film will help increase directed airflow and increase the use of the current pressure you have.

In the future, please direct S5 related questions into the S5 so we can keep the board clean.
3099  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: List of Mining Rig Specs on: December 29, 2014, 01:42:32 AM
Someone else started a similar list on the forums a few weeks ago, you might want to search for it and give them a PM. Maybe you can work together.

It would be nice if Bitmain could verify weather dogie was doing this with or without their consent and/or knowledge. If so, why?

Bitmain?

Thats a meta issue (accusing the moderators of being biased), you can discuss that in the meta thread you already opened.
