3181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What type of sports you love in sports betting and why? on: July 14, 2017, 11:39:20 AM
My favorite is  and will remain soccer because its just the best of all there are several sites making it available even with flat, I don't have any scarcity of choice and even the analysis will be done by the website which will likely be uniform across board and the most importantly I only have to place the bet then come back later to confirm if I win or not without any extra effort on my part whatsoever
3182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has gambling affected your life in a good way? on: July 14, 2017, 10:10:32 AM
Hi guys!
We always hear stories about people's lifes destroyed by gambling and how gambling affected many people in a bad way.
But as always, the coin has two sides. I am sure that there are many of you whose life was affected by gambling in a good way. You maybe found new friends, made some money and used them for a good cause or bought a gifts for you and your close, or you discover a new world of internet or whatever...
So for once, let's show others the other side of the coin and let's share some good stories and happy-ending connected to gambling!
Yours OshiHugo, Oshi.io casino CM
Although personally I have not been able to win big in other to change my status as a result of gambling which is largely due to the amount I am willing to risk out but I have seen people who are verifiable to have gamble high and won high thereby changing their status but the population winning is far less than those losing and that's why the noise here and there abounds. Its just about identifying what really works for every individual.

I just wonder how estimates are just being made with Return on Investment calculated with even taking into consideration other factors that are qualitative and only focusing on quantitative factors. There are several gambling sites that have even been here a long time but still cannot boast of such ROI but a new site coming in with that, I think there is need to go back to the drawing board and do proper analysis.
3184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thugs invade Bitcoin gambling on: July 14, 2017, 08:14:03 AM
I'm partly retired from this space, been traveling around for a bit. Received a nice message last night from an owner of a popular dice website. Not sure what I've done recently to piss anyone off so thought it was a bit odd. I figured I'd post it here for laughs.

In case it's hard to follow, this admin gives me his 'last warning' and says he can come to my location and then ends by doxing me and calling out my 'name'.

Hello Stunna, How are you doing?

For your information, we are not dadice. So, if you could stop threating us, I let it go when edward was threating us( by the way, I know that he was a scammer in the past), I let it go when you made a very weird move with the youtube affiliation but this is my last warning. If you prefer, I could come to [MY LOCATION REMOVED] to discuss together, ok [MY NAME REMOVED]?

We are not kids, so I hope you understand my point

B.s. like this is part of why I've been less active in this space.

If really you know nothing about which is something I have to believe because if it had been the other way round, you wouldn't have posted it here. Then its a case of mistaken identity which could have been resolved by replying to the message and making your position clear as to why he thought you are the bad guy.
3185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Still Believing That Bitcoin Can Rise High? on: July 13, 2017, 11:17:39 PM
Last month, we have seen so many market analysts, investors and speculators telling us to go for Bitcoin as it can soon be hitting at least $10,000 in the next few years and even $5,000 at the end of the year. The picture seems to be so rosy that it also create some discomfort in some people.

The recent dip in the Bitcoin value put some halt to this rosy picture, albeit temporarily. There are still some who believe that this recent development is very temporary and that after the scaling problem can be solved we can see Bitcoin at its real potential.

What is current feel for Bitcoin's value considering its recent retreat?

My believe is still strong as ever and not even perturbed with either August 1 or not and that us why I am always cautious of the various reports here and there predicting of how bitcoin  will reach $10000 in a matter of weeks. What I feel really matter is anybody coming into bitcoin should come in with what he can afford to tie up for a long term and with that, the drop in price won't have much effect to such individual.
3186  Economy / Economics / Re: Rothschild: Get Ready For One World Currency By 2018 on: July 13, 2017, 10:51:47 PM
2018/is just some months away which I don't see us having a one world currency any time yet because it just does not happen over night. For several years, countries of the same origin say Africa have been trying to unify their currency but still not working because of the technicalities of what is involved taking it to the world stage will even make it more difficult to achieve and if its even adopted today, the integration won't happen in 6 months.
3187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do males make up 97% of the Bitcoin community? on: July 13, 2017, 08:31:12 PM
According to the website https://coin.dance/stats males make up 97% of the Bitcoin community. Why is the Bitcoin community dominated by guys?
I don't really think that it is true ,
how could it happen that bitcoin is being used world wide and only 3% of its user is a woman or a girl,
And also the bitcoin was made to hide the information of its user or to send it anonymously how could they know the gender of the user's,
They couldn't really calculate it since there are plenty of bitcoin wallets out there.
I quite agree with that study because even in my immediate environment, the ones who knows about bitcoin mostly guys and I have only met a lady who knows little about it compared to the amount of guys I have met. Aside that again, when it comes to bitcoin community large percentage is coming from gambling in which the majority of the people there, are equally guys simply because ladies by default are reserved compared to guys.
3188  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is there going to be WAR in China and India ? on: July 13, 2017, 05:50:04 PM
if you watch the news then must have known there are some tense situations on border of India-Bhutan-China tri-border

there are Indian and Chinese troops in standoff .

1) do you think there will be war between India and China ?

2) How will it affect India ? or China

imho, war is never the solution .,

There wont be any war because countries in the 21st century tries as much as possible to stay out of war no matter the provocation simply because of the effect its going to bring which is even going to be beyond the parties involved at the beginning what we will see is just a round table discussion and everyone will shield their swords. If there is any need for war, it would have happened against North Korea or even USA and Russia but they are still discussing.
3189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the Most Powerful Computer on Earth Hack Bitcoin? on: July 13, 2017, 03:32:26 PM
First of all, bitcoin network reached 7 million TH/s and its computing power is above any other single supercomputer we have on earth.
Just to give you some prospect of how powerful bitcoin network is, here is article - The Bitcoin Network is 11000x Faster than the Top 500 Supercomputers Combined:
http://jasondrowley.com/2015/12/04/the-bitcoin-network-is-11000x-faster-than-the-top-500-supercomputers-combined/
Just note, the article is from 2015, since that time we had a tremendous rise of hashing power.

Of all the responses so far, this I found most explanatory and its also boost my confidence in bitcoin in which I am sure if the current cappacity of the available computer can hack bitcoin, I am sure they would have attempted that. For the future, in which we all dont know yet, I am also optimistic that as at that time, its either there is an upgrade to the security apparatus of bitcoin or a mass adoption that any attempt to shut it down might disrupt the world order.
3190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How strong is Bitcoin compared to others cyptocurrency? on: July 13, 2017, 10:59:01 AM
thanks for all the replies. it was helpful. but if there is risk in cyptocurrencies, other then bitcoin, which is the most best option to invest besides bitcoin. Will be better if there is a second opionion. Smiley

If that is the case, then there wont be a generally accepted parameter because every other interest in alt coin is based on subjectivity i.e depending on where each individuals aligned to and sometimes could be on the basis of the coin developed. In short the bulk of the work will be done by you in analsying various suggestions put forward because the ultimate decision rests on you which means the outcome whether positive or negative will also be borne by you. Dont be lazy to do your won research.
3191  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is money, everything else is credit. on: July 12, 2017, 08:45:17 PM
Nothing gets on my nerves more than hearing "Bitcoin is an investment".

Bitcoin is not an investment, Bitcoin is money. In fact, everything other than gold and Bitcoin is simply credit.

Money is supposed to enrich, not impoverish; yet, inflationary credit (fiat) has done nothing but robbed the saver, the worker, and the retiree of his/her purchasing power while enriching Wall Street and asset holders.

Bitcoin, unlike credit, is not inflationary, but deflationary. The price of Bitcoin doesn't rise, the cost of goods relative to Bitcoin falls.

As long as our monetary system is not rooted in private property ethic, that is, banks are allowed to lend "money" they do not have (conjured from thin air), the economic boom and bust cycle will only continue to grow in severity.

Anyone who has read either Ludwig Von Mises or Rothbard's work is familiar with the concept (for more on why Bitcoin is money, and everything else is credit, I highly recommend What has government done to our money? by Rothbard, available here for free: https://mises.org/library/what-has-government-done-our-money).

People aren't investing in Bitcoin persay, but rather, riding off the enriching effects of price deflation, which has existed in the US before the creation of the Federal Reserve.

Bitcoin has all the properties of money, and in my humble opinion, is a better monetary unit than gold.

Thoughts? What do you see Bitcoin as?

Tzadik

I agree with some of the submissions you have given except the bolded part which I disagree with and I am sure quite a number of people will also agree with me on that position, however, I am open to further explanation because we have seen the price of bitcoin in relation to dollar go up or down in a matter of hours while the price of one shirt in the store or price of burger remains the same within this same period which means at a point in time, my 0.01btc could be enough to get me a shirt, while the next minute, I might not be able to afford that same shirt with my 0.01btc which negates your position at the bolded part above.
3192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: August 1 is near on: July 12, 2017, 07:52:12 PM
Market analysts have come up with different factors to be behind this significant decline in Bitcoin and altcoin price. Ironically, this comes immediately after the G20 summit in Hamburg where reference was made to digital currency as an important technology in the global economic transition.

Also of note is that the community is nearing an important date of August 1 when Bitcoin is expected to make its most crucial decision since creation. Certain groups have also attributed this decline in price to technical factors lifted from the study of price charts, making predictions based on historical market behavior.

Whatever the reason, the fact remains that the crypto market keeps getting more traction as the days go by. The numerous activities taking place within the industry since the beginning of 2017 must be considered if the prevalent market volatility is to be analyzed properly.

Like I have always maintained, August 1 will come and go but we will still be standing tall and all the prophets of doom will be put to shame but this is backed by the level of confidence everyone is exhibiting at this day which is encouraging couple with the various news from other quarters and all these is only pointing to one direction which is that bitcoin is getting to grow independently and be neutral of any news that will shook some other alts to the basis.
3193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How greedy you are? When will you stop and withdrawn? on: July 12, 2017, 07:24:27 PM
I went for the last option because thats what eventually happens even though I know gambling is serious business, I usually come with the mind set of losing and most time I am not always disappointed and anytime I even manage to win, I ended up losing everything but once in a while, I take my winnings and bolt.
3194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: @Philippines An addicted gambler gone wild on: July 11, 2017, 08:17:40 PM
In as much as I dont support his action as a gambler but I still feel there is more to the reason for his actions rather than gambling alone but the ambling is just being pronounced in other to send a message to the public on how 'bad' gambling is. A 42 year old man who is old enough to be a grand father exhibits that attitude means there is something more they are not telling us. Afterall, he is not the only one who is addicted to gambling and I am sure if he had won and made a lot of money nobody would call it addiction rather they say he is lucky with taking risks.
3195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Switching to Etherum on: July 11, 2017, 07:24:38 PM
Hi guys!
It has been a few crazy months for bitcoin and its price. Did that affected your gambling activities? Are you considering switching to for example Etherum?
What do you think is the greatest advantage and disadvantage of bitcoin gambling?
Yours OshiHugo, oshi.io casino CM

I dont think because of the recent volatility that has happened to bitcoin will now necessitate the dumping of bitcoin for another currency and aside that, I believe that in gambling the currency of choice does not matter as it is the multiplying effect of whatever is put in that one gets in return and the volatility is just a function of conversion as my 0.01 btc  is still the same thing whether equivalent is 20$ or 30$.
3196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a Computer on: July 11, 2017, 05:20:38 PM
Money is not a computer, this is why Ethereum will never work as money. Sure you could call the network some sort of super computer, but I dont see how that is an appropriate description, the only thing being calculated are the hashes, but Ethereum aims at being a "global computer" and that may be its downfall. Turing complete global computer... the opposite of sound money. It will never be a store of value or a currency or anything similar.

Thats actually the untapped potential of ETH and this is something I have read about it some time ago but what happen is that everybody just focus on the currency aspect which I have a feeling is not sustainable long term. On the part of bitcoin, to determine whether its a computer or not is to go back memory lane to the beginning to understand the purpose of bitcoin itself which I have yet to read anywhere that it represent a super computer.
3197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why bitcoin fees is $1.60 to send bitcoins on: July 11, 2017, 03:42:22 PM
Hi,

I want to know why bitcoin is charging me $1.60 for sending $1 to another bitcoin wallet address ?

Can anyone confirm how i can send bitcoin without blockchain charging me fees.

Unfortunately, no one has been able to give you an answer on how to avoid paying fees because there is no way to do that anywhere to the best of my understanding anyone suggesting a particular site, you just need to watch it. The way out is to avoid doing small payment and wait till when you can afford it before you try sending. Also, you can download the bitcoin core and try from there but be sure to pay some fees as you can only reduce it but not avoid it altogether.
3198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would be the fairest way for votings ? on: July 11, 2017, 02:32:51 PM
I think voting by coins is more or less unfair and nowhere a democratic system. Your vote is affected by your wealth.

Voting by address is more or less complete stupid, because you can generate as much as you like.

Voting by hashpower is centralized.

Voting per full node? Can this be implemented, or can this be manipulated ? (I know you can add a comment which your node is brodcasting, but thatīs not really voting)

Is there any other way how we could realize a democratic system for the votings? (f.e. per id like political votes in democratic systems, without revealing your id ?)

What I see here is that Democracy is overrated and even not a perfect way of getting the summation of ideas of people over a particular course of action because there is no generally accepted parameter to determine which one is the best. Even in real life when we have to choose our leaders the real people who make the decisions for us are not the populace like they make us believe rather the moguls and cabals and it wont be any different in matters relating to crypto-currency.
3199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No payments in Crypto for Russia after possible Regularization Law. on: July 11, 2017, 12:02:12 PM
I have always know that the only issue about bitcoin for government is the issue of taxation all the news of illegal activities is just for diversion because they are yet to fine tune how to levy tax and the moment that is been taken care of, all other reasons are secondary and that is exactly the route most countries are going now towards that length and I dont expect anything different for now.

from what i have understood from news regarding Russia and bitcoin regulations i say your topic is very misleading.

the Russian government has nothing against bitcoin as "payment" they are mostly worried about taxation! and this can clearly be seen from every statement they have ever made.

they don't consider that bitcoin can be considered as a virtual currency. It's more digital assets with the regulation of assets, the head of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said.
this is no different than what US does! they also treat bitcoin very similarly and it is all about taxation.

and this is already a great improvement in my opinion to go from "Banning bitcoin" to "wanting to regulate it and make it legal".
3200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hard fork statement by freebitco.in on: July 11, 2017, 11:31:41 AM
The statement they released is actually something a reasonable business man would do and thats what will eventually happen whether one keeps the coin himself or not and I think all the fear being expressed is what is driving the price down because quite a number of people are now pulling out their coins of the exchange sites at the moment. And I am happy that freebitco.in came out to allay the fears of the users accordingly.
