3981  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Coinbase Bitcoin Users Who Evade Taxes Are Sought by the I.R.S. on: December 16, 2016, 10:12:37 PM
If the investigation is actually successful and people convicted because of this, then all I can say is that one of the fundamental basis of Bitcoin which is "anonymous transaction" is being defeated and I see quite a number of people moving to more "anonymous currency" to carry out their transactions. Aside that, this is a further proof to my theory in another thread that government will continue to have its way when it comes to income tax purposes. If we cannot tax you then we shutdown everything all together.
3982  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Where would you invest if you had 40$/day ? on: December 12, 2016, 07:07:55 PM
Imagine you had a daily income of 40$ each day in bitcoin, what would do with them and where would you invest them ?

I wont bother investing it because all investment over the internet is a form of one scam or the other and youre not even sure of getting any form of ROI. In likes of that, I will just keep it and wait till when the price increases then I cash out. Another way to go about it is if I am now conversant with Trading then I will go that route and make more money out of the 40$ initial investment.
3983  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is it illegal for someone to hack my BTC wallet? on: December 12, 2016, 06:27:43 PM
From where I stand, it will be illegal if only you can prove it in law i.e a particular law that covers you and him and also the subject matter which is Bitcoin then you can prove it in law but the issue now is how much has been hacked? that will worth all the trouble to locate the hacker, sue him to court and then make him pay which is now beyond your own power. Even the big hackings with lots of BTCs going down the drain, what happen to it and how far the case has gone?
3984  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do we need to pay tax from Bitcoins earnings? on: December 12, 2016, 06:19:51 PM
As long as we keep Bicoins as btc in our account and don't exchange them to either EUR or USD will we be liable for tax at this point?

I was just wondering if somone know about it since my CPA say no.

If you are in my country then I will say No. Because any tax that is being levied and collected by the relevant government agencies is backed by law otherwise it will be declared null and void by the court of law which will be a shame and even damage their PR activities and until when there is a new law that will be enacted today to cover Bitcoin I say we are free but the same cannot be said concerning countries like USA which will find every means to nail you and pay tax.
3985  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drug free in the Philippines on: December 12, 2016, 05:58:09 PM
A drug free Philippines is actually achievable but I dont see it happening any time soon the reason being that its a fundamental issue that have festered for too long which will take as much time it took to develop to this level to eradicate and in addition to other issues that needs to be tackle along side this social menace in the society. The fact that the current President is working assiduously to tackle this, what will happen if he leaves power and if he decides to stay he will be forced out. Then what will happen to the campaign of eradicating drugs?
3986  Other / Politics & Society / Re: At Least 38 Killed, 166 Injured In Istanbul Blasts on: December 12, 2016, 05:53:39 PM
Muslim countries will always have terrorist attacks. Which is one of the reasons why you would never ever want to have a major muslim group in your country. Dangerous situations arise.

I saw the news and the first thing that came to my mind was, this will be ascribed to Muslims but its actually pathetic to see innocent souls being waste away because of someone's belief that he is fighting for a god that cannot fight for himself and the most annoying is the stigmatisation it will cause and name calling to other people practising the same Faith.
3987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Giving up on Bitcoin... on: December 12, 2016, 05:45:06 PM
Its really going to be pathetic to leave at this time when quite a number of people are blaming themselves why that haven't been exposed to this world earlier including myself. Concerning what you raised I think is hazard for anyone to try to change or fix the world why dont you just do your part and leave the rest and also for the fact that people don't agree to you position does not mean they are fucked its because we cannot just think the same way. So if you are leaving, I am made bold to say several are already to take the place.
3988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain is the Trojan Horse that will push Bankers and Investors finally to Bitcoin! on: December 12, 2016, 05:41:05 PM
I see bankers on their individual level using Bitcoin and making profit out of it but banks itself as an institution or a sector of the economy is not something I am seeing happening anytime soon simply because of the fact that their activities are greatly regulated by the Central Bank as it is called here which is the mouthpiece of government in that sector and until government gives the go ahead then they will be operating outside the curfew of their powers in which I am sure bank CEO's won't want to try.
3989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does a President Trump mean for Bitcoin? on: December 12, 2016, 02:23:34 PM
For me, I dont see the effect that Trump or emergence of anyone will have on Bitcoin. Expect President Trump either fully allows Bitcoin, or totally ban the currency that is the only time I can say its presidency will mean something for Bitcoin or nothing atall and that is even too early to decide now. The next 4 years will do justification to that.
3990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's be honest, how many of you here actaully read the whitepaper? on: December 12, 2016, 01:46:35 PM
In all sincerity I have seen the white paper but I have never thought of reading the paper not only for Bitcoin, but also for other coin because the paper is always contained of to many technical jargon that I really find too hard to understand. So I just save myself the stress of skipping through the whole thing and move on.
3991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Kill The Income Tax on: December 12, 2016, 01:42:10 PM
Income tax will never go extinct and the only reason why some countries avoid it is because the cost of collection is more than the amount raised and in this case it serves as one of the surest source of revenue to government and if Bitcoin wuloo serve as a threat to that source, I see it being banned by government because I dont see government sacrificing that source of revenue for anything unless that find a way to tax Bitcoin itself.
3992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest Win Ever on: December 11, 2016, 02:37:33 PM
I have not really won a lot because I majorly focus on sports betting in which it is about micro-betting but all the same I have made some winnings and I have lost some in the end I am still ending in deficit comparing winnings and losses. In all I have won about 6mbtc.
3993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you do with your winnings? on: December 11, 2016, 02:30:18 PM
Winnings does not mean being rich. If I put 1btc and win 1.2btc does not amount to being rich as the amount I won is not enough to make me rich. The reason why it is generally agrees that you can't be rich through gambling is because before that winning, do you how many losses I have to live with subtracting that from the winnings, I am still at deficit so what I will do is withdraw the amount or sometimes you will be tempted to wager the winning then still lost everything depending on the attitude of the individual involved.
3994  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Still Love Democracy? on: December 10, 2016, 06:57:16 PM
Democracy to me is still the best form of government to me. There is a saying for countries that have witnessed quite a number of coups that "the worst democracy is better than the best military government" for the fact that I have a choice to make of the notion that I have a choice to make in the governance of my country is enough reason why I choose democracy. Another is the of criticism where civilians can do against government and not scared of soldiers knocking on your door the next hour is enough.
3995  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama Orders ‘Full Review’ Of Election Hacking on: December 10, 2016, 06:50:01 PM
Following an election season plagued with doubts cast on the democratic process, President Barack Obama has ordered a full review of any hacking-related activity that took place during the 2016 Presidential election, according to a report from Politico.

Keep reading : http://www.ibtimes.com/2016-election-results-hacked-president-obama-orders-full-review-hacking-2457994

He is obviously wasting his time when a statement has initially been released to rule out any form of situation like that. Lets even come to think of it what will happen if it is found out that it was rigged, will he cancel the election or what? To find that out will also cast doubt on his presidency to have allow that will the level of infrastructures available to him. Then its a shame to him and the entire apparatus of government.
3996  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Blacks are the least intelligent race on the Earth on: December 10, 2016, 06:45:56 PM
The basis for this thread is what I am yet to understand where all over the world people are trying hard to end racism then this is coming up. You say Blacks are the least intelligent but you forgot to say something about the ARABS who for decades will not allow their women drive cars or even vote, who wont even allow them go to school. Yet they are superior right? according to your analysis which is obviously faulty.
3997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin even have a future? on: December 10, 2016, 06:35:35 PM
I think bitcoin has a great future because bitcoin is going too much popular and a lot of people are using bitcoin and bitcoin increasing its price too much faster and people feel that bitcoin is secure currency because they investing their in bitcoin without worry.

Everything whatsoever created has a future but the issue is whether the future is bright or its dim? In this case of Bitcoin, the future of last year is this year as at this moment which is equally brighter than that of last year. Following that trend then and the facts available with the current happenings then I wont be wrong to conclude that the future will still be brighter than what we have now.
3998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think bitcoin is one new step for sucess. on: December 10, 2016, 06:19:22 PM
Yes, it is one new step to success if not, it wouldn't have attracted the calibre of population it has today. Coming from the angle of developers to the corporate world even world leaders. I am sure this set of people will not be attracted to failure. It has also change the way payment is being effected bringing a totally new ball game into the financial system which defies the parameters put in place by governments of countries all over the world. This alone is a one step to liberation.
3999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: December 09, 2016, 09:34:41 PM
Yes there are some drug sites which use bitcoins as a a way of payment . Someone must report against those sites which will help in the growth of bitcoins . We support bitcoins and i think it must not be used in illegal activities .

Even before the advent of money people have been engaging with all sort of illegal activities not to talk of now we have money which could even be traced then people resort to the use of cash to avoid trace and carry out their illegal activities. Now we have another form of money which then promised cash could not offer as a result of the trace. Why would people not engage in such to carry out their illegal activities. Although I dont have evidence but I am sure its not impossible.
4000  Economy / Speculation / Re: Indonesian Largest Bitcoin Exchange Reach 788 USD while Other in 770 USD area on: December 09, 2016, 08:57:18 PM
how can is this Possible Indonesian Largest Bitcoin Exchange VIP.Bitcoin.CO.ID Reach Rp. 10,500,000 or 788.23 USD (rate 1 USD = Rp. 13,321) while Other in 770 USD area?

is there inside trader?
if you want quick money. sent your  money, and sell all you coin and buy back at after the price at Rp. 10,2xx,xxx area or 770 USD area
bvecause trader over ther is easy to panic

This is something that will continue that will push the price to that point because one of the things that gives relevance and what other lack is the speculation which is what we are saying. In no time the effect will multiply to other sites and it goes on and on... But the condition to trade is what will limit quite a number of people here.
