321  Other / Serious discussion / Re: What's your opinion on Telegram? on: February 03, 2024, 10:07:45 PM
Telegram is a great messaging app. It offers a secure & private messaging experience with end to end encryption ensuring the privacy of user data, a huge positive for most of us. It provides various features like group chats, voice & video calls, file sharing & a wide range of customisable options. I like the fact that it has such a clean, user friendly interface & reliable performance. Telegram probably along with Whatsapp are considered the most popular and reliable messaging apps. I use it for work & socially.
322  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Too much pressure on the male child on: February 03, 2024, 09:17:23 PM
Male children can face more pressure due to societal expectations & gender norms. From a young age they are often encouraged to be strong, assertive & successful. This can create added pressure to conform to traditional masculine roles & excel academically, physically & socially. There can be pressure on males to hide emotions & appear tough which can be challenging. These expectations vary across cultures & societies, efforts are being made to promote gender equality & challenge these stereotypes.
323  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 02, 2024, 10:05:41 PM
The price of cigarettes has gone up so much in the last 15 years. The price has gone up by around 150%. This huge increase is due to inflation, increased taxes on tobacco products & efforts to discourage smoking. The cost of cigarettes has become much higher making it way more expensive for smokers to maintain their habit. Think how much money you can save per year if you used to smoke a 20 pack a day but now save or invest that money.
324  Economy / Economics / Re: Why does a country borrow money from the world bank even when they can afford it on: February 02, 2024, 08:58:11 PM
They all will have their own reasons but mostly countries borrow from the World Bank because even if they have the financial capacity to pay for things without external assistance, borrowing from the World Bank allows them to access funds at lower interest rates and with longer repayment periods. This can be more favourable compared to borrowing from commercial lenders. The World Bank provides technical expertise & support to help countries implement projects effectively. Borrowing from the World Bank can signal credibility to other investors & lenders, attracting more investment & fostering economic growth.
325  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Social media is a breeding ground for scamers, be intelligent while you explore on: February 02, 2024, 08:43:26 PM
Social media is a breeding ground for scammers because the anonymity on these online platforms allows scammers to hide their true identities which makes it easier for them to deceive unsuspecting users. The vast reach of social media provides scammers with a wide pool of potential victims. The fast pace nature of social media encourages quick & impulsive interactions which makes users more vulnerable to manipulation. A lack of stringent regulations & how easy it is to create fake profiles can facilitate fraudulent activities. To combat this it's crucial for you to stay vigilant, verify information & report suspicious accounts to ensure a safer online environment.
326  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorism in Africa on: February 02, 2024, 07:46:15 PM
The issue of violence in Africa is complex & can’t be attributed to one factor. It is influenced by a combination of historical, political, social & economic factors. While some African leaders may bear responsibility for their actions, it’s not fair to solely blame them. The legacy of colonisation, resource exploitation, poverty, inequality & ethnic tensions play significant roles. It’s important to approach the issue with open minds & understanding, recognising the multiple factors at play & working towards sustainable solutions that address the root causes of violence in Africa.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use profits from the crypto market? on: February 02, 2024, 07:20:42 PM
I use profits from Altcoins to buy more Bitcoin, diversify into Trad-Fi assets & generally do little things that can make my life more enjoyable. If you do well in a less fashionable, not well known Altcoin & it does a big mve, obviously take profits but always leave some in the game for further price discovery.
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will still be my choice this year. on: February 01, 2024, 02:21:40 PM
Ethereum is the number one Altcoin, the best option after Bitcoin of course, which is the undisputed number one. Others are beginning to stake a claim, like Solana, but Ethereum is definitely the number one Altcoin at the present time. Ethereum has the time proven trust & reliability factor so you are in safe hands. I think it has the potential to hit $10,000 or more in the next 2 years so now is still a great time to buy.
329  Other / Off-topic / Re: The health benefits of Alcohol, Beers, Whisky and Red wines. on: February 01, 2024, 01:44:56 PM
Moderate consumption of red wine may offer heart health benefits due to antioxidants. Beer made from whole grains can provide nutrients & antioxidants benefiting health. Whisky when consumed in moderation might have positive effects on cardiovascular health. Sadly excessive alcohol consumption can lead to serious health issues, including liver damage, alcoholism & increased cancer risk.
330  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The danger of gender inequality on: February 01, 2024, 01:22:45 PM
Two candidates visited my office two days ago to submit their applications for the position of a health assistant. I had the honor of taking part in the interviews with them. After the interview, the candidate did very well, but the CMD chose to hire the male candidate because of his physical strength and height as the best contender for the position. He didn't even give the female applicant a chance to demonstrate her qualifications. What do you think about this?

I’m a firm believer that the job should always go to the best candidate. I have found over the last 20 years or so that companies seem to want to hit quotas, so many women, so many disabled, so many black, asian employees etc. The job should go to the best qualified, best candidate for the job every time. There should never be anything else to the decision to employ somebody.
331  Economy / Economics / Re: Save while young better than wait on: February 01, 2024, 12:01:36 PM
Saving & planning for your future when you are young is really important for building wealth later in life. By starting early you have the advantage of time & compounding interest. Saving allows you to accumulate funds over time giving you a financial cushion for emergencies & unexpected expenses. Planning for the future helps you set clear goals & create a roadmap to achieve them. It can help in developing disciplined financial habits & avoiding debt. Investing wisely in your younger years can generate substantial returns ensuring a comfortable & financially secure future.
332  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 01, 2024, 11:43:32 AM
Quitting smoking has benefits for your physical and mental health. It reduces the risk of developing serious health conditions such as heart disease, lung cancer & stroke. It also improves lung function & reduces respiratory problems. Quitting smoking can enhance your immune system resulting in fewer illnesses. It improves your sense of taste & smell & enhances your overall energy levels. Quitting smoking also brings financial benefits as you save lots of money that would have been spent on cigarettes.
333  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was Bitcoin ETF really a good thing for growth of crypto and Bitcoin prices? on: January 30, 2024, 11:10:15 AM
It may not be apparent yet but the etfs will have a big effect on the price. These things don’t happen immediately but billions, if not trillions of usd will flow into them over the next decade. Now that Bitcoin is essentially a mainstream financial commodity, asset managers will be pushing people to invest. It’s going to be huge, you just need to be patient, these things don’t happen overnight. The etf providers are buying more daily than the amount of coins that are mined daily. It’s only a matter of time before supply shock & huge pump.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins profits or bank profits, which best? on: January 30, 2024, 10:09:55 AM
When I first got into Bitcoin I would certainly say that crypto profits are more important because you can get much higher returns. After many years in crypto & doing quite well, I think it’s important to diversify because you don’t want to just selling your precious crypto to live. It’s far too precious so if you can diversify a little & get passive income then do that.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your stance on SUI on: January 30, 2024, 09:14:56 AM
The name of the token reminds me of Cristiano Ronaldo goal celebration SUIIIIIIII. It has a current supply of 10,000,000,000 which is quite large. According to MarketBeat SUI has a market cap of $1.48 billion & is currently trading on 200 active markets with $445,000,000 traded over the last 24 hours. It is difficult to predict the future with certainty but recent developments suggest that SUI has potential. It could be worth investing a small % of a balanced portfolio in SUI.

336  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: January 30, 2024, 08:49:44 AM
Investing offers the potential for higher returns compared to traditional savings. By prioritising investment you can grow your wealth and achieve long term financial goals such as retirement or purchasing a home. Unlike saving which often earns minimal interest, investing in diverse assets like stocks, bonds, crypto or real estate can generate substantial gains over time. Investment allows for the compounding of returns meaning earnings can be reinvested to generate even more income. While saving is important for emergencies & short term needs, prioritising investment can help you build wealth & secure your financial future.
337  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is United States on the verge of a civil war? on: January 30, 2024, 08:23:13 AM
I’ve been seeing lots of social media comments & some articles saying a civil war in the US could happen. I am doubtful though. The political problems in the US are both structural & immediate, the crisis is both long standing & accelerating. The US political system has become so overwhelmed by anger that even the most basic tasks of government are increasingly impossible. Apparently red & blue voters are as hostile as ever towards each other, many think mainstream media is pushing it. Let’s hope this is nothing but pre election tension though.

338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where may we likely see BTC post halving? on: January 27, 2024, 04:13:59 PM
It usually takes about a year or a year & a half to really see the Bitcoin price pump considerably. The reduction of supply of newly mined Bitcoin takes a while to be shown in the price. We will see if this time is different but so far each halving has seen the price soar but not immediately after the halving.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is GRIN still a thing? on: January 27, 2024, 11:34:03 AM
I remember theymos ever so slightly shilling it on this very forum. I actually started buying it in the hope that it was the next big thing. Its all time high was 5 years ago, it crashed hard & has never recovered. It’s done nothing for years, it’s a dead project sadly. It was worth throwing a few hundred bucks in early on though, incase it exploded. It’s a dead project though now.
340  Economy / Economics / Re: The 150 year old maths and logic theory on the best period to make money: on: January 27, 2024, 11:12:26 AM
I’ve seen this chart pop up several times over the years. It’s incredible that it is still somewhat relevant. It seems to closely follow Bitcoin four yearly cycles. By that reckoning we should see a bullish 2024 & 2025, before seeing a downturn in the following couple of years. Obviously you should never rely on one chart but this is still definitely worth watching, along with other research.
