1261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people are always interested in altcoins on: January 27, 2023, 02:12:45 PM
People buy altcoins because they’re a lot cheaper than bitcoin & even though it’s a lot more risky to buy & hold centralised alts, they can bring bigger returns than bitcoin. It’s not something that I am particularly comfortable doing but some people risk it all in alts.

I find that avid altcoin investors are very interested in fiat profits which is different to a lot of bitcoin only investors. Many of the latter believe bitcoin could become very important in the world of finance, maybe a means of moving money for global trade or even the world reserve currency in years to come. I don’t think for example, Shib investors think that’s possible with their token.

Do your own research & be careful out there.
1262  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could this be the reason for the recent rise in Bitcoin price? on: January 26, 2023, 09:23:44 PM
People often look too deeply & intensely to search for a reason why bitcoin is going up or going down. Unless tyere is a huge crisis like the COVID-19 announcement at the beginning, maybe it’s just the way the market is naturally moving. We have more buyers than sellers right now.

The bottom has probably been reached & the market is healing. Sellers are tired, no more weak hands & there are just more buyers than sellers. I think it’s just that simple, the bear market is over.
1263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: shiba inu coin, now ranked 13th in cmc on: January 26, 2023, 08:59:09 PM
I remember DOGE doing well a number of years ago. It went quiet for a bit & people were saying it was dead & it’d never reach a new all time high. It defied the odds & rallied back in the last bull run. Hopefully, as a fellow meme coin, SHIB can do the same. I don’t see why not, it has a great community & I see good things for it within the next2 -3 years.

OP, your dca strategy is a good one, simple & effective. Keep it up & you’ll be enjoying great profits soon.

Good luck!
1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is ok to sell your Bitcoin. on: January 26, 2023, 08:25:31 PM
The primary reason for investing in bitcoin is to make your life better & easier in any way that you possibly can. It’s never a good idea to sell your entire holding of bitcoin but if after selling nothing for many years & being in big profits, selling some would make your life a lot easier then do it.

If you can hold some bitcoin for 10-20 years then you will do very well. You might want to sell a little after 5 years though to put a chunk down on a home or pay off debt etc.

There are no rules you have to follow. Anybody who says hodl for life is a bit silly imo.

Satoshi - “If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.” ...

Hal Finney - “Running Bitcoin”

Michael Saylor - Bitcoin is a bank in cyberspace, run by incorruptible software, offereing a global, affordable, simple an dsecure savings account to billions of people that don't have the option or desire to run their own hedge fund.

Adam Back - Σ₀ 1/2ⁿ=2
210,000 x 50 x Σ₀ 1/2ⁿ = 21 million #bitcoin

Andreas Antonopoulous - Six and a half billion people on this planet have no connection to the world of money. They operate in cash-based societies with very little access to international resources. They don’t need banks.
1266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you into crypto at the moment? on: January 25, 2023, 11:31:16 PM
I’ve been into crypto for a long time because I believe it is the future of investing & finance. Young people are investing in crypto far more than older, more traditional financial markets. It’s easily accessible, more fun & more interesting than stocks & precious metals. The ceiling is far higher & potential for massive profits much more likely in crypto. I’ve done really well over the years so I have no intention of changing the way I invest my money.

1267  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to discipline yourself as Man. on: January 25, 2023, 11:23:33 PM
To be disciplined is a very wide spectrum. As a man you should aim to work hard, protect & provide for your family. You should be honest, kind & a good person. You should always aim to be the best version of yourself possible, whatever that is.

Set yourself achievable goals & always look to improve in everything you do. The human body & mind can achieve great things if we push ourselves.
1268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEX deserves all criticism but not the hate on: January 25, 2023, 10:57:28 PM
Storing all your funds on any CEX is stupid & asking for trouble. Having limit buy or sell orders on exchanges is fine but just do not leave them on there too long term. I don’t have any problem with buying from CEX, there is no  problem if you don’t mind KYC & paying your taxes etc.

Please be sensible though & refrain from getting too comfortable by leaving too much money on these exchanges. Self custody is the way to go.
1269  Other / Off-topic / Re: The power of punctuation on: January 25, 2023, 10:20:30 PM
I’m not going to pretend that I’m an English professor or something. Using acceptable grammar is important but it doesn’t need to be perfect. Lots of people who go to university/college & do really well end up in average jobs.

It’s good to be able to write/type a coherent letter or email but you don’t have to be Charles Dickens to do well in life. This forum is full of smart people so I’d say we don’t see too many dumb people here but the internet is full of them.
1270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Main reason government won't fully accept bitcoin on: January 25, 2023, 09:54:30 PM
It’s all about control because with bitcoin they have no control. Governments want to control what we buy, what we do, our finances. With bitcoin they have very little control. Whatever the government want you to do, you should do the opposite. They don’t care about us, they want us to be poor, go to work & pay our taxes.

The $ is the world reserve currency, it’s a massive ponzi, an over inflated house of cards & it’ll all come crashing dowj. Cracks are already beginning to show with their mindless money printing.

Buy bitcoin.
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Aptos pumping ? on: January 25, 2023, 09:14:58 PM
Lots of coins/tokens pump randomly. Maybe there is some insider news that is positive & a select group, aware of the news, are filling their bags. Maybe devs are artificially pumping it?

This is the wild west, altcoin markets sometimes have no logic.

Be careful out there.
1272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which company will be next to accept Bitcoin? on: January 25, 2023, 08:53:37 PM
I don’t know which large company will be the next to start accepting bitcoin as payment or putting it on their balance sheet. One thing is very likely though & that’s the fact more like Micro-strategy & Saylor will start buying in the next hype bull stage.

I have been seeing stories that Apple may build a new crypto wallet for iOS which would be extremely bullish for all of us.
1273  Other / Off-topic / Re: The pain behind the fame on: January 25, 2023, 08:20:27 PM
I don’t think it’s much to do with fame. Unfortunately some people are just awful human beings. There are sex offenders everywhere. It doesn’t matter if it’s a footballer, a music star or a mail man. There are sadly just bad people in many parts of life.

I hope victims of any crimes like this can recover physically & mentally. I hope the offenders get suitable jail time & karma gets them.
1274  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we end the *VOLATILITY OF BITCOIN* on: January 24, 2023, 05:42:30 PM
Bitcoin is such a young asset, volatility is natural when it’s only been around since 2009. If you’re smart about it, volatility is a good thing that you can use to your advantage.

Try not to worry too much when bitcoin is down. Patience is required but bitcoin overcomes downturns & FUD, it always does. Just hang in there, buy when it’s down & sell some during bullish periods.
1275  Other / Off-topic / Re: Powerslap sport is bad on: January 24, 2023, 04:11:13 PM
There’s no defence play involved, it’s just so dangerous. I’ve seen a few highlights lately & somebody is going to get seriously injured. I’m very surprised to see Dana White involved in something like this, I suppose he is the money man though & he will go where the money is.

I really hope this sport is stopped soon, before there is a life changing brain injury.
1276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to profit from altcoins collapses? on: January 22, 2023, 11:02:24 AM
Firstly you need to be sure if whatever altcoin you’re interested in has any utility. If it’s collapsed then why has it collapsed. If it’s just following bitcoin’s usual four year halving cycle & entering a bear market then that’s fine, it’s safe & probably a great time to invest. If it’s because of something more sinister like a dev rugging the community or & problem with the code or a big hack then you need to know.

As always do your own research but obviously during natural bear markets it’s a good time to buy, providing there isn’t a sinister reason for a collapse in any said coun.

NFA & DYOR.
1277  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Mini bull run or short Squeeze (manipulation) ? on: January 22, 2023, 10:22:32 AM
It could be a bear market rally like we saw in 2019 when bitcoin rose to $13,000 before falling back down significantly.

It could be because FTX were selling fake bitcoin because they didn’t actually have any to sell. This was artificially increasing the supply which is weird but what actually happened. This suppressed the price so now FTX has blown up the foot is off bitcoin’s head so maybe it now will start to rise.

These are all theories, the only way we’ll know if this is a fake pump is with time. Let’s see where the price is by end of Q1.
1278  Other / Off-topic / Re: Happiness on: January 21, 2023, 09:40:54 PM
Money can’t buy happiness no, there are loads of depressed rich people who lead miserable lives. Look how many celebs get addicted to drugs & alcohol, money doesn’t fix that. Being rich enables you to try & be happy though, I would rather be rich & not happy than poor & miserable though . Having money gives you options, I don’t think I ever saw a truly happy broke person.

Of course being truly happy is possible if you’re comfortable financially, you don’t need to be rich. Keep a roof over your head, feed your family, have a bit of spare cash each month to do fun stuff. You can be happy that way. I never saw a really happy broke ass dude though.
1279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Signs of a better year for btc investors on: January 20, 2023, 08:16:15 PM
Let’s hope 2023 is a much better year, it can’t be much worse than 2022 can it, surely. I’ve said before I think the bottom was hit. We won’t go lower than $15,500 ever again with any luck.

Sure we will hit corrections along the way but I will be very surprised if we don’t end 2023 above $30,000. Hopefully we can all stack stress free this year. I am not in the mood for another absolute beating all year with predominantly downwards price.
1280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is FTX going for a reopen? on: January 20, 2023, 05:08:47 PM
I don’t think they’ll do particularly well even if they do reopen with new staff. The trust has evaporated, even though SBF & co. are gone. The brand name is tainted, trust has gone.

Hopefully if they go reopen the first thing that happens is, any funds that are still there & redistributed (in part) to those who lost money. Obviously the full funds aren’t there thanks to an awful scam but even if part funds are returned to the rightful owners that’s the best scenario out of the whole FTX shit show.
