1301  Other / Off-topic / Re: I don't think the prices of things will get better. on: January 12, 2023, 07:36:45 PM
I bought some salmon today & it was £8.50 which seems ridiculous. In my opinion the price of everything has soared. I admit, I don’t use low budget supermarkets but everything seems to be drastically more expensive than it was prior to COVID.

I guess we all just have to wide the wave & hope that in a couple of years inflation is back to 2% annually.
Diesel (gas fuel) prices are going down a little but are still significantly higher than a couple of years ago.
Energy bills (home heating & electric) are like 3 x higher than pre pandemic too.
1302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I keep my BNB or Sell it? on: January 12, 2023, 06:35:01 PM
It depends if you believe that Binance is 100% solvent & will never have issues like FTX, Celsius, 3AC. Do you trust CZ? BNB obviously relies heavily on the future & longevity of Binance. If you fully trust that Binance & CZ are honest & fully solvent then sure, BNB is fine to stay invested in.

Make your own decisions though, don’t just go off what people on here say. You are responsible for your own investment strategy & success.
1303  Other / Off-topic / Re: Japanese government offers families 1m yen a child to leave Tokyo on: January 12, 2023, 05:49:41 PM
That’s crazy, living in Tokyo is very, very expensive so I’m not sure if $7,500 is enough to tempt people to leave, who are obviously already quite comfortable financially.

I can see the temptation to live in a quieter, slower paced city or town. I’m just not sure how many people this government offer will appeal to as current Tokyo citizens are already kinda rich. It costs a lot to live there.

Maybe there is a minority in the city who suffer from a level of poverty, this offer could appeal to them.
1304  Other / Off-topic / Re: Saudi Reportedly Adjusts Its Marriage Laws For Ronaldo And His Partner on: January 12, 2023, 02:25:50 PM
People of extreme wealth, power & utility always get rules & laws bent to help them. Ronaldo being there is huge for Saudi Arabia, it will bring them a lot of attention & interest. I saw something where the team he joined now has more instagram followers than a number of big European clubs which is crazy really.

I also saw it being reported that Ronaldo will potentially help lead Saudi Arabia’s bid for the World Cup to be hosted there. Maybe that’s the real reason why he is being paid so much tp be there. The business opportunities & exposure that comes from hosting a World Cup are huge as Qatar is now finding.
1305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Scam Alert - Address Poisoining on: January 12, 2023, 12:22:52 PM
This type of scam isn’t new. It’s been happening for a while, most likely it’s able to be carried out by hackers if you unfortunately download malware on your device. When you copy an address to send crypto to he/she is able to switch around some letters/numbers in the middle of the address & send to an address they are in control of which is very similar to the one you use. It’s commonly known as a clipboard hack.

The only way to minimise the risk here is don’t go on shady sites using a device you use for crypto. Don’t download movies, torrents, files. Don’t use a VPN, don’t use the device for pretty much anything other than crypto. You shouldn’t be using the device you use for crypto for regular browsing & leisure. You need a seperare device for crypto, it’s the best way to keep it clean.

1306  Other / Off-topic / Re: I don't think the prices of things will get better. on: January 12, 2023, 11:30:32 AM
Inflation may lessen in coming years but the price of goods will never return to what they were, for example 10 years ago. I don’t see how the fiat monetary policy is sustainable over say, 200 more years. Wages don’t keep pace with inflation so it’s inevitable that eventually fiat will collapse like a house of cards.

Just by knowing & being aware of the above gives you an advantage. Bitcoin beats inflation, it is by its design, a deflationary asset. Plan & prepare accordingly for what is coming.

Buy BTC.
1307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from BONK on: January 11, 2023, 08:27:56 PM
It’s like any of these meme coins, they are high risk but carry a high reward. It’s not a good idea to go running after green candles but this race could still have a while to run. What I mean is, it could still have a higher upside potential.

Don’t risk a large % of your portfolio in this but a small allocation could be OK. I just prefer not to invest in large supply coins/tokens where a big % of supply is owned by a small amount of investors/developers.

Some people make a lot of money in coins like this but the risk is that the large bag holders dump on you & you are not able to react quick enough which results in you being rugged. Just DYOR & be careful out there.
1308  Other / Off-topic / Re: benefits of defeat on: January 11, 2023, 08:09:15 PM
Most successful people in life suffer many setbacks, denials, defeats, losses before they succeed. I guess nothing really good ever comes easily. Success usually always comes after gruelling hard work & many set backs.

You might fall down in life but you have to keep getting back up to fight again & again & again.

Human beings are tougher & more resilient than you think. We can achieve anything if we are dedicated & push ourselves to the limit.

1310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Vision on: January 10, 2023, 05:09:12 PM
Please don’t invest in BSV, it’s one of the very worst shitcoins on the market. It’s propped up by billionaire Calvin Ayre. Craig Wright is just the face of the whole drama. It’s been an absolute joke from the very beginning, you don’t need me to tell you that CW is definitely not Satoshi Nakamoto. BSV has a small army of delusional, dedicated followers who are convinced CW is Satoshi.

Amongst the various disingenuous legal battles that the BSV team have been and continue to be involved in, they’ve proved themselves to be liars but also lowlives.

Seriously the sooner that scam-coin goes to zero the better. It’s been a stain on cryptocurrency for a significant amount of time now.
1311  Other / Off-topic / Re: My cat just died on: January 10, 2023, 04:39:33 PM
Losing a family pet is always such a sad time for the family. That’s what they are, a genuine member of the family.
You will be very upset for quite a while but just be aware that things will get better. Time is a good healer.

In the future you will be able to reminisce about the good times that you had with your cat. Nobody can take those memories from you, cherish them because they will stay with you forever.

This forum is a good place, full of mostly good people. You can be confident to come here & share real life feelings with us & you will get mostly good advice from the caring, genuine people here.
1312  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't be fool! on: January 10, 2023, 03:57:10 PM
Most normies don’t rate bitcoin & will tell you not to invest in it. Most normies are also wage slaves & will spend their entire lives working in a miserable 9-5 job, paying ridiculous rates on a mortgage until they’re in their 60’s & able to retire.

I prefer to ignore these people & invest in cryptocurrencies, specifically bitcoin.
1313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just how bad is the bear market right now? on: January 10, 2023, 02:55:43 PM
Many people think the bottom could be in now, I am hopeful but not convinced. We are experiencing a bit of a relief rally currently. Bitcoin is back over $17,000 & some alts have risen as much as 25%.

I think stay vigilant, keep some cash spare because there is every chance we could still go lower. It’s still so difficult to tell where we are in the market & if the bottom is in. We won’t know for a while.
1314  Other / Off-topic / Re: NFL player has cardiac arrest on field on: January 10, 2023, 02:09:45 PM
Seems to be a record number of young, fit people suffering from cardiac issues & blood clots in recent times. I’m not a conspiracy theorist but it’s highly likely that these issues can be explained by the mass rollout of the experimental covid vaccine.

I’m glad I stayed strong & refused to have it. Always be mindful of what you put in your body. It’s not even technically a vaccine, it doesn’t stop you from getting the virus & it doesn’t stop you spreading it which is what vaccination does by the very definition.

I hope the NFL player makes & full recovery to lead a long a healthy life.
1315  Other / Off-topic / Re: List of hobbies to try on: January 08, 2023, 03:40:27 PM
Wow that is a really extensive list, I can see you put a lot of work into that list. There looks like a lifetime of activities to try there Smiley

I may be being really dumb but I can’t see running/jogging in the list. I think lots of people do it to try & keep a decent level of fitness. Maybe you should include it but you have included pretty much everything else. I can’t think of anything else.

Oh wow  Grin i guess it was too obvious. Thanks for noticing!

No problem, brother. If you really have tried all those activities since quarantine hit with COVID then I have full respect for you. I used to hate walking/hiking but when COVID happened all the shops were closed, all we were allowed to do was exercise, walk outside etc so I took up walking. I still do it now, so lockdown was good for something Cheesy

1316  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchanges lie to you! on: January 08, 2023, 03:04:49 PM
There needs to be a way to educate newbies though. Exchanges don’t do it do they, their business model relies on naive newbies storing their crypto on their exchanges.

People who aren’t tech minded or taught are not going to know how to use Bitcoin Core or a Trezor, Ledger, Cold card, paper wallet etc. These are the people we need to send crypto mainstream. Unfortunately this is most people. How do we educate them on self custody is the million dollar question.

1317  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does money bring you security ? on: January 08, 2023, 02:29:29 PM
Most rich people I know act poor which is useful in a number of ways. It stops unwanted attention & it stops you having to pay for everything when you go out Cheesy

If you are really rich though you can take certain threats away by hiring security & fitting big gates & cameras at your home.
1318  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will Erik Ten Hag end Manchester United trophy drought?? on: January 07, 2023, 07:42:34 PM
I don’t think it’s possible he wins the EPL this campaign but they certainly have a shot at winning the FA Cup or Europa League. I know a Manchester United fan at my work & he is happy with the new coach. It’s all about progress & Ten Hag is definitely making progress.

They must finish in the first four places of the EPL, this will give them Champions League football which always helps attract the best players in Europe. That is a must to keep improving then maybe next campaign 2023/24 they have a chance to win the EPL after so many years.
1319  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie I stay off shitcoin and it paid off, Bitcoin is the king. on: January 07, 2023, 06:11:23 PM
Some alts may give you much bigger ROI than bitcoin these says but there are so many alts, literally so many. Lots of them are scam pump & dumps, we have seen so many rugpulls. You have your head screwed on right OP. Bitcoin is King, without bitcoin pretty much all alts would fail.

Slow & steady wins the race & that’s why bitcoin is King. Over 10-20 years bitcoin will make your life, I don’t think any altcoin could hold as much guarantee to do the same.
1320  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Discussion! Don't BUY FAKE! "wallet.dat" files with lost passwords. on: January 07, 2023, 05:29:01 PM
I really don’t know why people ever fall for this. Why would anybody sell a wallet.dat containing a nice amount of bitcoin for less than its value?

The only way I can ever legitimately see somebody falling for it would be if the seller maybe couldn’t remember the passphrase & had some or most of it. The buyer could be technical enough to brute force it & see it as easy money.

I don’t understand any ofter way somebody would buy one though unless they’re totally dumb. If something seems too good to be true it is likely a scam. What use is a passphrase protected wallet.dat even if it has 5000 bitcoin in? Totally useless, please avoid.
