1241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoiners are not friendly physical? on: February 05, 2023, 04:15:46 PM
Maybe you’ve just been unlucky, there are lots of bitcoin meet ups in different countries. The people you’ve spoken to might be introvert & not want to meet people from the internet. Maybe they are bitcoin rich & see it as too risky to meet people.

Keep going, you might find people who are more interested in meeting up. I think you’ve just interacted with people who enjoy a level of anonymity which is their right.
1242  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the last movie you watched? on: February 05, 2023, 04:04:18 PM
I am keen to see Plane starring Gerard Butler, has anybody seen it?

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt5884796/

A pilot finds himself caught in a war zone after he's forced to land his commercial aircraft during a terrible storm.
1243  Other / Off-topic / Re: Instead of cryptocurrency, what you guys prefer to invest? on: February 05, 2023, 03:22:51 PM
To be honest I don’t like to invest in much other than crypto if I am honest. This is a shot out of left field but it is good to invest on ourselves & by that i mean look after ourselves. We should eat well, spend quality time with family, do things we enjoy. Try to relax when not at work.

If we are talking strictly about physical things to invest in that aren’t crypto then real estate is good, you rarely lose money over time on real estate.
1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright's Latest Escapade -- Give me the bitcoins I stole from Mt. Gox! on: February 05, 2023, 02:28:47 PM
CW just won’t stop will he, the lengths this guy goes to have no limits. As said the reports are that he wants to fork bitcoin so he can get the 100,000+ early bitcoin’s that he says are his  Roll Eyes

The scary thing is that this guy has a huge army of people who say they believe he is Satoshi on Twitter & probably elsewhere too. Can people be that dumb or are they just BSV investors turning a blind eye to his nonsense because they want their bags pumped.

Surely nobody sane believes his claims?
1245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Your Kids Aware Of Bitcoin? Teach Them. on: February 05, 2023, 12:38:50 PM
My kids are too young to fully understand bitcoin but they will know when it’s time. I will take a lot of time explaining everything to them. They will be very wealthy when they inherit my estate. Any kid who gets left bitcoin when they are 30 or older will be incredibly lucky. They will have a life that many of us didn’t & that’s what you aim to do as a parent.

Put bitcoin in cold storage for your children & when they are a little older, explain to them how to redeem it.
1246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SBF said: WHAT HAPPENED? on: February 05, 2023, 11:14:03 AM
I keep hoping he will be sent to jail for a long time. These cases can take a long time though, we can only hope that justice is done & he is imprisoned for the fraud he carried out that ruined so many lives.

I know he made large donations to some of those in power but surely that’s not going to save him. The only way he avoids a long term is if the whole thing was a ploy by the FED to create this drama to create a perfect reason to regulate crypto hard. In that case he would have essentially been a paid actor, a plant.

1247  Other / Off-topic / Re: Different sources of income on: February 05, 2023, 11:04:41 AM
Creating new streams of income is not easy, it’s not just something that can be started & guaranteed to continue long term. You can invest in stocks, crypto, real estate but you need a substantial amount of capital to start with. For the average guy it might not be possible but the first thing you need is a steady job. Minimise your spending so you can save up that all important initial capital.
1248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - yes or no? on: February 03, 2023, 03:59:00 PM
I think it’s a good idea to risk a small % of your available capital yes. The case against the SEC caused a lot of FUD so most people have steered away from XRP. The fundamentals are the same though, it is a good investment with good utility. It has the potential to bring massive profits. For this reason I would be happy to buy now & wait, in the hope that XRP wins the court case & goes on a big run.

1249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still holding your coins #btc on: February 03, 2023, 12:03:18 PM
I am most certainly holding most of my coins, this is not the time to sell. Now is the time to buy if you are able to.
Never sell during deep down turns unless you really need the money to live. Bitcoin will rise again, we will see new all time highs. You just need to be patient & add to your stash of coins if you are able to.

Panicking gets you nowhere, the smart money accumulates during times like this to prosper in the coming years.
1250  Other / Off-topic / Re: spirit and struggle on: February 03, 2023, 11:25:23 AM
I don’t like to think about death & negative things like that. Obviously we all die eventually, it’s guaranteed but best to be positive & put your mind at ease. My advice is to surround yourself with positive people & do things you enjoy. Don’t waste your life because you only get one.

Try not to have any regrets, be a good person & do right by your family. Try & leave a good impression on people whilst you are alive on this world.
1251  Other / Off-topic / Re: Procrastination is a dream killer on: February 01, 2023, 01:28:26 PM
I’ve done well in life but I didn’t listen much at school. I knew that most of the things taught aren’t relevant in the real world. Once you get past about 14 year old math & English, it’s pointless trash that you get taught. My advice would be to pick a subject or a trade & put everything you have into that. You don’t need to be working hard in French class or music if you have no interest or desire to pursue a career in those fields.

1252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My greatest fear about Bitcoin Halving. on: February 01, 2023, 12:57:02 PM
People say this every halving, that it might not have any effect on the price. If something is in demand & you halve the supply then it is going to become more valuable. It always takes a little while for the full effect of diminished supply to be shown in price but it always happens. This will be my 3rd cycle coming up, I’ve seen it all before.
We will see a 6 figure bitcoin price before the end of 2025.
1253  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: am now a bitcoin investor(first purchase) on: January 31, 2023, 09:42:20 PM
Everybody has to start somewhere, welcome to the club. You may have started small but congrats. Now is time to educate yourself more on bitcoin & really go down the rabbit hole. A good place to start is to read the original bitcoin whitepaper.

You need to research self custody of your bitcoin. Set up a DCA (dollar cost averaging) plan to buy bitcoin regularly. You’re going to need a lot more to make a big positive change to your life.

1254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you stacking up on? on: January 31, 2023, 09:15:33 PM
It’s a good idea to have a balances portfolio so that’s what I try my best to do. I’m literally 80% bitcoin, I have a pile of fiat for black swan type capitulations ready bur I do have some ETH, SHIB, DOGE, ADA plus various small positions in proper shitcoins.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to be too deep in one coin only but if you have to do that then make sure it’s bitcoin or ETH. Too risky to ape into real shitcoins.
1255  Other / Off-topic / Re: what is the staple food of your area? on: January 31, 2023, 07:59:20 PM
Rice is a good food, my country to be honest is full of unhealthy people consuming junk foods. If we go back 200 years or something though the staple food of my country is probably meats from natural farming & good crops.

I think if rice is the staple foods of your area then where you live is unspoilt by consumerism & modern atrocities.

Enjoy nature where you are.
1256  Economy / Economics / Re: Don’t Fall Prey to these Market Sentiments and Save your Bitcoin on: January 29, 2023, 01:01:58 PM
The best advice to follow is to see bitcoin as a long term investment vehicle. Ignore all outside noise, FUD & short term price movements. You will not lose money if you buy bitcoin & hold it long term. For any noob, just starting to buy now, it might be hard for you to become rich by buying only bitcoin in the short term but if you buy bitcoin regularly over many years you will be in a good position.

Save bitcoin alongside regular monthly fiat or pension contributions. 20 years of DCA (dollar-cost-averaging) monthly into bitcoin will put you in a nice position to enjoy a comfortable retirement.
1257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will crypto banks replace traditional banks soon on: January 29, 2023, 12:37:55 PM
Strictly crypto only banks won’t replace traditional, fiat banking for a long time. Fiat banks that adopt bitcoin will happen in the not too distant future. Some big institutions around the world already have started allowing bitcoin investments for select clientele.

It’s going to take quite a long time before crypto rules the world. I’m not even sure it’ll happen in our lifetimes. It will happen though in my opinion.

We’re currently at the and then the fight you stage which could go on for a while. The elite aren’t going to give up their powers & make drastic changes without a fight.

1259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keeping a record of BTC transactions to optimise CGT liability. on: January 27, 2023, 03:38:32 PM
Most good exchanges give a detailed list of all your transactions so it’s not too difficult to keep records of all your purchases & sells. Obviously you can keep your own spreadsheet but it’s not hard.

It's important to keep records going back several years. I had to dig out 2015 buy records when I sold a bunch in 2021. You can’t get caught slipping these days, IRS are on our asses, especially after COVID. They are trying to get back every cent they can.
1260  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to prepare for the fall of the markets on: January 27, 2023, 03:23:05 PM
We’ll have to wait & see won’t we. At the moment the FED are doing everything to avoid admitting that we are in a recession. Smaller nations have conceded that the macro economic picture does not look very good. The world super power, the US, has so far avoided telling us that a recession is here.

We will know by the end of 2023 if there is a recession. Let’s keep our eyes fully on the US & what happens in their markets.
