381  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Where una smerits dey go? on: January 26, 2024, 07:08:41 PM
Abeg, make we dey reason these things some times. e fit get so many reasons why admin nova still answer una applications and this one fit still be one.
I no think say this one follow for one of the reasons why the admin never approve applications from some of our local board users, the thing be say, for over two years Theymos never add new merit sources, so no be only users from our local board wey dey on the waiting list. I believe say once Theymos dey make the next approvals, e dey possible say one or two of our local board users will be selected.

Having said that, smerits are owned by the user wey get am, and na them go decide how them wan distribute am and in which boards them go dey send am. Mind you say, the board wey people dey visit pass, na there dem dey distribute most of their smerits, so e fit be say most of the users wey hodl plenty smerits no too dey active for this local board.

Even if you write you password in a book its still not safe, no where is really safe but try as much as possible to protect your self.
It is safe to write your seed phrase on a piece of paper, as long as you keep that piece of paper safely and only you have access to it. You could say there is no method that is 100% safe and that is true, but there are definitely methods that are highly secure and much safer than others. For example, saving your wallet seed phrase on your mobile device is very unsafe, your seed phrase should not be stored anywhere online, but offline and backed up safely on a piece of paper.

Very quiet January transfer window in the PL. I haven’t paid much attention to other leagues this January but in the PL especially, it’s been one of the quietest transfer windows I can remember.
Yeah, i guess that is a sign that most teams are happy with the squad they have, and some others do not have the finances to fund transfers in the winter transfer market. Having said that, the summer transfer window is usually the busier of the two, but i know we have also witnessed busy January transfer windows before, but not just this one. I think the latest EPL transfer news is that Kalvin Phillips is moving from City to West Ham on loan, until the end of the season, and even despite that loss for City, Pep confirmed in his press conference today that there would be no replacements coming in for Kalvin this January.

Liverpool will face Chelsea in the next week, so we will know the result earlier without need to wait the final match in Carabao Cup happens. Grin
Lol, it will be completely different games, and i am certain you know that. I think Liverpool have more motivation to win the EPL tie, that is because they are in the title race, and Chelsea are not. Having said that, the Carabao cup is Chelsea's only opportunity to win a title, so they might give it their all, and be lucky to win it, meanwhile i truly believe Liverpool has a chance to win the CL and the Europa league, so their options isn't as limited as Chelsea's.

They must believe in themselves then they can change the situation and win more often. Inter and Juventus are moving at such a pace that it is difficult to look too far
Juventus and Inter Milan are doing great in the Seria A this season, they occupy 1st and 2nd positions respectively and only one point separates them, but this is the CL thread and Juventus are not even in the CL this season, but they'll definitely qualify for the competition next season.

Having said that, Inter Milan v Atletico Madrid is one of the stand out games in the CL RO16 this season, and imo it is a 50/50 game and there are no favorites in this one, though i tip Inter Milan to progress to the QF.

I am curious whether Manchester City will still be able to improve and come up with some wild winning streak. At least they push each other at the top, but now that De Buryne is back in the game I think that Manchester City will keep pressuring Liverpool until they finally make a mistake.
This City team will always keep on improving under Pep Guardiola, there is no chance for complacency and the players know fully well that if they do not perform well, they will be dropped and sold if the poor performances continues for an extended period of time.

Having said that, i think it is only a matter of time before City starts their long winning run which has helped them to win a couple of EPL titles in recent years. City become unstoppable during the title run-in and if they get into that form this season, then it is spells danger for Liverpool as they also have to keep up the pace and continue winning too, because City will be there to take advantage of any slip up.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptocurrency on: January 24, 2024, 11:56:36 PM
Looking for the best crypto tokens to invest in the year 2024?
No, i am not. New altcoins and tokens are scam projects more often than not, throwing money on them is just like gambling.
Bitcoin halving is just 2 months away, and historically, the halving year is always a bullish one for cryptocurrency. The price of many altcoins will skyrocket due to the large demands that will flood into the cryptocurrency space.
The price of many altcoins will pump, but so will it also dump. That's why they are called pump and dump projects and only those who are lucky to invest early can make ROI.
In less than 1 year, the Ice project has achieved unprecedented growth, with more than 3.5 million users actively using the network.
Are you shilling for this project? Nonetheless i am pretty certain it will be no different from the many scam and shit tokens/coins in the market, and i won't put a dime in something like this.

Can Chelsea win the carabao cup ?
Of course they can, any team that makes it to a final has a chance of winning the trophy and if they were not strong enough, there's no way they could have progressed as far as the final. Chelsea fans will be watching the Liverpool v Fulham game today with interest, Liverpool hold a 2-1 advantage coming into this game, but this second leg is at the Craven Cottage, so it is going to be interesting and i think Fulham have a small chance. Chelsea would remember their recent defeats in cup finals against Liverpool, so they would either hope to meet them in the final for revenge or they might prefer a London derby final with Fulham.

Right now, Kalvin Philips have focus to recovery top performance with West Ham United until the end of this season and not good ideas if want return back to City after his loan over.
The objective for Kalvin Phillips is to perform as good as possible in this loan spell, he won't be thinking of what would happen at the end of the season and if he will return to City or not, because it is his performances that would make West Ham to consider making the deal a permanent one or not.

Kalvin is a good player, but he isn't just what Pep wants and i feel sorry for the Englishman, he had such a nice time in Leeds under the management of Marcelo Bielsa, but it wasn't to be for him in City and i wish him all the best of luck in this loan spell.
390  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the export of goods related to manufacturing capabilities or resources? on: January 24, 2024, 12:35:28 PM
Is export capacity related to manufacturing capabilities or to resources available in those countries?
Export capacity will depend on the two factors, some countries have the resources and the raw goods, but they do not have the infrastructure to refine them and turn it into finished products, thus they export only these raw materials to countries that are well developed and capable of refining it and turning it into finished products.

Having said that, a country's export capacity would be greater if they have the natural resources, can also manufacture products and turn raw material into finished goods, thus their export capacity would continue to grow as they would be producing/manufacturing at a faster pace.
391  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can naira earners keep up with their BTC pursuit. on: January 23, 2024, 11:09:54 PM
Tbh, with the situation of things in the country and the depreciating value of the naira, e dey almost impossible to dey earn for naira, come dey use part of the money take buy Bitcoin. You go first check wetin be the average salary of a Nigerian, come check how much that average Nigerian go spend on food and basic amenities, nothing fit remain wey you go use buy Bitcoin.

The only way you fit dey buy Bitcoin na if you dey earn in dollars, or you get better skills wey you dey offer and people dey pay you either in hard currencies or in cryptocurrencies. The poor and average Nigerian with his or her 9-5 job cannot be thinking of buying Bitcoin.

I will be very surprised to see any big team across Europe hire Mourinho. He's only fit for above-average clubs right now. Teams like Newcastle and Roma. Teams like Barcelona, Bayern, Madrid, and Man City would most likely never give Mourinho the coaching job.
His football doesn't work anymore like it used to. It's too basic. He'll get a job soon if he wants to get another job, but it won't be from an elite team in Europe.
Exactly what i have been saying since Mou got fired by Roma, none of the big clubs in Europe can hire him again, his footballing philosophies can no longer work in big teams. It is true that Mou can deliver trophies, but it isn't just about that; it is about the team staying competitive for a long time, and judging by his performances in some of his latest jobs, Mourinho cannot keep a team competitive for a very long time.

Having said that, i am pretty sure he won't move to Saudi Arabia, there is no emotion or passion there, he might likely move to an average team in Europe, and that's if they would be able to afford his wages.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Do You Look Out For When Picking Your Favourite Coin? on: January 23, 2024, 06:54:49 PM
Here's the question, What criteria do you consider when choosing your favorite tokens?
People actually have different criteria when buying a new coin/token, personally i don't buy altcoins because majority of them lack any useful use case and they are built on just hype and fake promises. The thing is, you could have certain criteria and things you look out for in a project, only to purchase them and the projects fail in the long term because they were either not sustainable or it was a scam peoject.

If you must buy altcoins, the better option is to stick with older and more established coins, like Ethereum for example, if you make it a habit of buying new coins, be ready to lose quite a lot of money doing so.
394  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallet can i use for my needs on: January 23, 2024, 04:21:56 PM
I'm using Coinomi Wallet...
Coinomi wallet is slowly going extinct, if you do some research online you'll find out that so many of their customers are going crazy with the number of issues with this wallet, some cannot spend their coins, others are having problem with synching, et cetera. It is also a closed source wallet, so better send your funds out of Coinomi.
Coinbase wallet on the other hand does not give you custody of your funds, the exchange is in charge of it. If it gets hacked, shutdown or go bankrupt, you could lose your funds.
Mind you that Coinbase wallet is different from a wallet in Coinbase.com. Coinbase wallet is a non-custodial wallet, whilst the other is a wallet in their exchange which is obviously custodial.
395  Other / Meta / Re: cls63 Merit Source Application on: January 23, 2024, 03:57:56 PM
I don't know if theymos made an exception yet but as you can see the asked for post quotes for the 10 posts. Good luck with your application.
It is not compulsory to do it in that way and i am pretty sure i have seen applications that were posted as links instead of quotes. Personally i would choose links to quotes in this case, as quotes makes the thread large, while links would basically take whoever is interested straight to the posts in question. Anyway, OP already edited to the quote format, so that's fine as well.
396  Other / Meta / Re: cls63 Merit Source Application on: January 23, 2024, 03:10:49 PM
Good luck with your application, i obviously don't visit the Turkish board so i don't know if there is a dearth of merit sources in that section, but if you say there is, then Theymos might consider your application sometime later (because he takes his time with these things).

I can't remember when last Theymos added new merit sources, correct me if i am wrong, but i think it is over two years ago. There are quite a lot of users waiting for approval as well, so welcome to that list, lol, and goodluck mate.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 23, 2024, 02:55:48 PM
The fact is that Mourinho, who recently turned down a proposal from Al-Shabab, really wants to stay in Italy.
I don't think it is just about staying in Italy, Mourinho wants to remain in Europe where he can feel the emotion and feelings of competitive football, he would not matter if it is in Italy, Spain, Germany or France, but he just wants to remain in Europe. The Saudi league is more about the money that is paid, rather than the competitiveness or joy of winning trophies.

Having said that, despite the fact that Mourinho is a highly decorated manager, i do not think too many big clubs would be after his signature right now, maybe his style of play is no longer what the big clubs want and he also has disciplinary issues, he might not be a good 'brand' for the big teams. Then again, the smaller teams cannot afford his wages and Mou might have to take a paycut if he wants to remain in Europe.
398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 22, 2024, 11:04:24 PM
I think we are stronger than Arsenal, the title is between Liverpool and Man City.
I second that, and i have said it a couple of times here already that if City don't win the league for the fourth time in a row, then it will be Liverpool who would beat them to the title. Liverpool and City have gone head to head in a lot of title races in recent years, though City came out on top in most of them, and i think the both of them are going to go at it this season again.

Of course we cannot take Arsenal completely out of the picture, but TBH i also don't think they can finish either above City or Liverpool this season, i would be surprised if that is to happen.
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it even possible to offer 10% daily reward? on: January 22, 2024, 10:34:42 PM
Is it even possible to offer 10% daily reward? Anyone could suggest me if it is solid or scam project?
Definitely a scam project or one that will fail in no time, a 10% reward daily is not feasible and it is most likely a gimmick to allure gullible people to fall for this scheme.
I don't know how people staked over 40 Million PIE tokens on this very new platform.
People are gullible when they are promised unrealistic high returns, crypto investors want to make so much money very quickly and as a result they no longer can tell what looks real and what's too good to be true.
400  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is signature campaign all about on: January 22, 2024, 08:10:15 PM
Through signature campaigns crypto projects/businesses advertise on this forum, hoping to attract more customers and grow their business. These projects hire campaign managers who in turn hire forum users based on their ranks and reputation, and they are going to participate in the campaign and earn some bucks stipulated by the manager. For the campaign participants their role is simple, wear the signature, avatar and personal text, and then participate in discussions that interest them around the forum.
