381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Things in Binance Under New CEO - What are your thoughts? on: January 11, 2024, 08:39:29 PM
I haven’t noticed too much difference on the exchange, business side of things. Maybe the social media accounts are a little less edgy, a bit boring since Teng became the main man. I’m not too sure if that’s a good or bad thing for business. CZ is probably still covertly pulling the strings on the main business decisions, unbeknown to authorities. Binance is his baby after all.
382  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Between placing a wife on monthly allowance and opening business for her on: January 11, 2024, 08:32:25 PM
Your wife should decide what she wants to do. In the current era, both husband & wife tend to work but that’s probably due to the high cost of living. Very often Grandparents play a big role by helping to look after the kids, do school runs etc whilst the husband & wife work. If you can afford to live & raise a family on a one person income then go for it. If she wants her independence though & enjoys earning her own money then good for her. You need to be having this discussion with her, not a bunch of guys on a forum.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: “X” users are struggling as Crypto Scams in Ads,officials have no clear respons on: January 11, 2024, 08:20:40 PM
This has been happening for years on that platform. I remember seeing Elon Musk ads to supposedly double your bitcoin by sending to a certain address. It’s not just X, they lowlives prey on the naive & desperate. If something seems too good to be true, in life, it almost definitely is. Please be vigilant & take your time online, verify everything before you input sensitive data that could lead to financial loss.
384  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Ark 21Shares Bitcoin ETF is approved. on: January 11, 2024, 08:08:56 PM
Not just ARK 21Shares but the SEC approved 11 spot bitcoin efs yesterday. The approved ETFs are products from major financial players such as Grayscale Bitcoin Trust GBTC, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB), Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB), Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF (BTCO), WisdomTree Bitcoin Fund (BTCW), VanEck Bitcoin Trust (HODL), Franklin Bitcoin ETF (EZBC), Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Trust (FBTC), Valkyrie Bitcoin Fund (BRRR) and Hashdex Bitcoin ETF DEFI. https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/a-glimpse-into-11-spot-bitcoin-etfs-set-for-launch-today#:~:text=The%20approved%20ETFs%20are%20products,HODL)%2C%20Franklin%20Bitcoin%20ETF%20(
385  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crypto & Older Generation on: January 11, 2024, 08:05:07 PM
I think maybe older people already have significant savings & pension funds etc. they use traditional brokerage firms with boring stocks and 401k packages. They don’t look for alternative investments because they maybe don’t need to, they are already financially sound. I wouldn’t say 40 is the cut off though, there are loads of people over 40 deep in bitcoin. It’s probably the over 60’s who are hesitant to get into crypto.
386  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the world soon become tired of the US dollar? on: January 10, 2024, 12:33:16 PM
The BRICS economies (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) are growing in influence it is unlikely that the USD will soon stop being the world reserve currency. The USD's status is rooted in the stability of the US economy, its huge financial markets & the mass use of the currency in international trade. Cryptocurrencies are gaining popularity they are still relatively new & face regulatory challenges. It would require significant shifts in global economic dynamics, financial & political agreements for the USD to be replaced as the world reserve currency in the near future.
387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: January 10, 2024, 12:10:16 PM
Every noob you manage to Orange Pill is a win against the corrupt, rigged fiat system. Your friend has made a very good decision to start stacking sats. I always try to get people onboard the Bitcoin train. Well done OP, keep up your recruitment drive. There are still many in need of our financial help.
388  Economy / Economics / Re: What did elon do wrong in Twitter on: January 10, 2024, 10:23:20 AM
In my opinion Elon has made Twitter (X) better. He has returned free speech, somewhat. You are less likely to get banned or silenced for having views that aren’t left wing & woke. I enjoy the platform more since he has taken over. Also the guy is one of the smartest people in the world. He will turn Twitter (X) into a money making machine. There are already rumours he will implement a peer to peer payment system on the app later in 2024.
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Confessions on: January 10, 2024, 09:57:08 AM
I’ve not come across that profile on X before. Some really inspiring Tweets there, some nice stories. I just hope most of them are true because we don’t really have any verification do we. You could just write anything to them & they’s Tweet it. Sorry to be a party pooper but the cynic in me doubts the validity of all the Coinfessions on the page. Many of them will be real though, the profile is definitely worth a follow.
390  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are Neobanks bad for society? on: January 10, 2024, 09:48:23 AM
Neobanks are digital only banks. They offer convenient & user friendly banking experiences. It’s tough to say if they are bad, that depends on your needs & preferences. Neobanks can provide lower fees, better interest rates & innovative features compared to traditional banks. The absence of physical branches & limited services can be a disadvantage. It’s important for you to research & consider your own banking requirements before deciding if a neobank is suitable for you.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Blockchain Games Revolutionize the Gaming Industry? on: January 09, 2024, 09:10:50 PM
Blockchain games could have the potential to revolutionise the gaming industry by introducing decentralised & transparent systems. With blockchain technology players can own and trade in game assets eliminating the need for centralised authorities. This opens up possibilities for new gameplay mechanics, cross game interactions & player driven economies. Blockchain's immutability ensures fair play & stops cheating. There could be issues with scalability & user adoption. But if these obstacles are overcome blockchain games could reshape the gaming industry by empowering players & creating new opportunities for creativity, ownership & monetisation.
392  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can someone please explain "right", "left", "far-left", "far-right" etc whatnot? on: January 09, 2024, 09:01:35 PM
I think sometimes publications, journalists & media channels think it’s easy to discredit other people, whose views differ to theirs by branding them far-right/left. To be extreme left or extreme right is fairly rare & I think as a supposed insult or slur to target those who have a differing political stance is quite common. Most people lean slightly one way or the other. Left political views generally advocate for social equality, government intervention & progressive policies. Right political views often prioritise individual freedom, limited government intervention & traditional values. These ideological differences shape the approaches to various issues such as economic policies, social justice & the role of government in society.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that you trust most on: January 09, 2024, 07:47:00 PM
Apart from Bitcoin there are many other cryptocurrencies that have gained trust & popularity in the market. Ethereum as we all know is the second largest cryptocurrency & is known for its smart contract capabilities. Ripple (XRP) is a digital payment protocol that facilitates fast and low cost international transactions. Litecoin is often referred to as the silver to Bitcoin's gold offering faster transaction confirmations. Other reputable cryptocurrencies include Cardano & Polkadot. It is so essential though to do your own research, make sure you conduct thorough research & consider factors such as technology, adoption & community support before trusting any cryptocurrency.
394  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why crime are on the rise daily on: January 09, 2024, 07:34:08 PM
Crime may seem more prevalent now than ever for lots of reasons. Socioeconomic disparities, unemployment & lack of opportunities may drive some people towards crime. Changes in societal values & norms as well as the breakdown of traditional community structures can contribute to the perception of increased crime. Crime rates can fluctuate over time & factors things like improved crime reporting & policing methods can also influence the perception of crime prevalence.
395  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to stop noise pollution? on: January 09, 2024, 02:58:56 PM
I’d start by trying to identify the main sources of noise such as traffic, appliances, or neighbours & try to address them directly. Install soundproofing materials like curtains, rugs or acoustic panels to absorb or block noise. Use weatherstripping to seal doors & windows to minimise exterior noise. You could try using white noise machines or fans to mask unwanted sounds. Talk with neighbours about noise concerns & try to find a compromise. Create a peaceful environment by incorporating elements like indoor plants, soft lighting & calming music to promote relaxation.
396  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Jeffery Epseitn, his client list, and his ties to Israel on: January 06, 2024, 03:35:22 PM
We’re never going to know exactly happened on that island. the true elites will never be exposed for what they may have done. Epstein was a deplorable human being but he was only a small problem. The swathes of disgusting pedophiles reportedly going there are the problem. They’re still alive, still hidden in a web of deceit. Epstein & every island visitor make me sick.
397  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you work toward hodling bitcoin? on: January 06, 2024, 02:30:14 PM
To change your mindset & ensure you HODL Bitcoin it's important to focus on a few key aspects. Educate yourself about the long term potential & benefits of Bitcoin, get to understand its underlying technology & the market trends. Try to practise disciplined investing by setting clear goals & sticking to your investment strategy. Avoid being swayed by short term market fluctuations & FOMO. Try to surround yourself with a supportive community of like minded individuals who share your belief in Bitcoin's potential. By adopting a long term perspective, staying informed & remaining committed you can strengthen your resolve to HODL.
398  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just a reminder. Don't lose yourself in the process. on: January 06, 2024, 02:12:21 PM
It is important not to get consumed by work & to enjoy home life, family time & leisure time because a healthy work life balance is essential for overall well being. Constantly focusing on work can lead to burnout, stress & health issues. By prioritising personal & family time we can recharge, strengthen relationships & find fulfilment outside of work. It allows us to create memories, pursue hobbies & take care of ourselves physically & mentally. A balanced life leads to increased productivity, happiness & a sense of purpose beyond professional achievements.
399  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just HODL on: January 06, 2024, 01:43:38 PM
Currently the best thing to do is HODL. Obviously there is no point dying with your coins unspent but for now it is time to HODL. We are entering a period in Bitcoin specifically where it would be silly to start selling now. We have lots of very bullish events very close. Next week could be specifically bullish due to potentially ground breaking regulatory approvals. Don’t sell any for at least 18 months, the price will be much higher then.
