1341  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bob Marley grandson dead: Reggae star Jo Mersa Marley was 31 on: December 31, 2022, 09:38:40 AM
Terrible news, poor young man. May he rest in peace & his family be comforted by God at this awful time. 31 is young, such a tragic loss. It seems a really bad time for public figures dying at the moment. Recently soccer legend Pele died, fashion designer Vivienne Westwood too. Obviously no life is worth more than any other due to fame etc.

All we can do is pray for those who have left us & hope their families are comforted by God. Mourning is one of the worst times in life, I wish the families have all the strength possible during this time.

1343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What advice can you give to newbie here? on: December 30, 2022, 06:30:08 PM
Simple but effective advice to get on well here & have longevity is some quite simple things. Just be polite, treat others how you would like to be treated. If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all.

The forum is a very helpful place for all people interested in crypto, not just newbies.

Don’t be nervous to ask questions, most people here are good & will give you free advice.
1344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investors convert ‘totally worthless’ NFTs into tax write-offs on: December 30, 2022, 06:23:05 PM
This doesn’t surprise me at all. I don’t know why anybody expected jpegs to be worth a lot of money long term. NFT’s were the most recent cycle version of the ICO craze & subsequent rug pull of the previous bull run.

I feel sorry for anybody who paid lots of money for crappy drawings of a monkey or something equally ridiculous.

My advice is buy bitcoin & other mainstream alts, they will always recover to match previous highs & make new ones. I am not convinced NFT’s ever will.
1345  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where did you loose huge in your life ? on: December 30, 2022, 05:43:24 PM
I haven’t lost big in anything financially related but we all lose in life at some point. We all experience loss, it may be the death of a loved one, a pet or a big sports game, failing in a job interview etc. Whatever negative things you experience in life, it’s important to keep your head up & never give up. Human beings are resilient, we can suffer a lot & it may not feel fair but we can fight back & succeed if we put everything we have into doing something.

If you lose money trading or gambling you can make it back, just take a little time away & come back swinging later.

In fact, finding a good wife is not so easy Smiley In general, children are a big responsibility.

Both points are very true but a good wife & subsequently having children are gifts. There is no rush for the OP, he is a young man. A wife & kids are hard work but we all know about proof of work here as bitcoin lovers Cheesy

Anything good takes hard work, great things in life do not come easily.
1347  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ugandan Man with 102 children, 568 grandchildren, and 12 wives on: December 30, 2022, 11:17:12 AM
I think this guy needs to slow down & find a hobby. Maybe a vasectomy is in order, he is lucky he doesn’t live in a First World country because child welfare payments would bankrupt him.

Seriously we can all have a laugh & a joke about this but we have responsibilities in life. Having children is a gift, I think our Ugandan friend needs to put something on the end of it if he wants to continue his life of promiscuity & debauchery.
1348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Those who survived previous winter, please share some courage! on: December 30, 2022, 06:58:30 AM
Don't buy altcoins.
Buy Bitcoin.

Don't trade.
HODL.

Don't store your bitcoins in exchange wallets (read a topic in my signature)
Use self custodial wallets.

Altcoins lose more in bear market.
They even die in bear market.

More rug pulls in bear market.
More scam exits in bear market.
More collapses in bear market.
All these are for altcoins.

There’s not much more to know than the above, posted by BlackBoss_

It can be tough to watch your net worth fall by 80% or more but things do get better. We will enter another bull market & the price of most coins/tokens will soar. We will see new ath’s for a lot of coins/tokens. You just need to be brave & not panic sell.

This is a time of opportunity if you are smart. Devise a buying strategy now & with patience & the passage of time you will be rewarded with number go up.
1349  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am new here -- new year resolution ??? on: December 30, 2022, 06:51:25 AM
Just to try & be a good person, try to be the best version of myself. I’ll try to work hard & be nice to all people around me. I haven’t got a set resolution in particular, I just want to try & be the best version of myself. I hope 2023 will be a good year for me & my family.
1350  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I found here. on: December 28, 2022, 12:47:28 PM
You’re in the best place to save yourself from wage slavery & oppressive governments later in life my friend.
Bitcoin will save you from governments stealing your savings through stealth tax (inflation). There are a lot of super smart people here. You don’t need to get involved in every conversation but a little bit of voyeurism is a great help. There is lots of very good information to feast on.

If you have any questions, there are lots of people willing to help. This forum is invaluable & so much better to pick things up than something like bitcoin twitter which is a waste of time.
1351  Other / Off-topic / Re: I feel out of time on: December 28, 2022, 10:33:48 AM
There are no rules on when you have to settle down & have a family. As a man especially, there is no rush. Your reproductive, biological clock has a lot more mileage available on it than our female counterparts.

It’s better to get a settled job & home, become financially stable & then find a wife & think about kids.

I understand if you were 40 & beginning to worry but 28 is no age at all. You are in the prime of your life, you can relax & not set deadlines on having a family just yet.
1352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Are You Preparing For 2023? on: December 28, 2022, 10:10:18 AM
The way I’ve always prepared, I will just DCA & wait for better times to sell. I do not day trade, it’s for morons. We’re still in a bearish period & it could still last all the way through 2023 so the best thing to do is just ignore the price & stick to a plan.

Continue to buy at regular intervals & you’ll be greatly rewarded, it’s really that simple. You need dedication, conviction & patience but there are proven ways to be successful in crypto.
1353  Other / Off-topic / Re: 400M Twitter users’ data is reportedly on sale in the black market on: December 27, 2022, 10:04:52 PM
This kind of stuff is happening all the damn time. Just try & be very vigilant, if anybody calls you from a number you don’t recognise & starts saying you owe money then ignore it. If you get any unsolicited letters requesting similar, ignore it.

There will be a lot of phishing going on, if you’re unlucky enough to be one of the people who had data leaked, you need to stay very alert.

1355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what proof must one have to identify himself as Nakamoto Satoshi? on: December 25, 2022, 06:48:56 AM
Bitcoin is decentralized cryptocurrency, the only way for somebody to ever legitimately stake a claim to being Satoshi Nakamoto without getting laughed out of the building is cryptographically. He has sign a message from a well known Satoshi mined early block. That is literally the only only way, everything else is BS as we see with characters like Craig Wright.
1356  Other / Off-topic / Re: Kylian Mbappé Scored 8 Goals with Highest Scorer of 2022 Qatar World Cup on: December 25, 2022, 06:08:58 AM
Messi is the undisputed GOAT now, nothing can be argued against that. It’s now considered a fact, I think. Mbappe is only like 24 years old, he has many years ahead of him. He could be one of the greatest strikers of all time, to be honest his performance throughout the tournament & specifically the final, you could say he deserved to be on the winning team but this is football. You don’t always get exactly what you deserve.
1357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Throwback: Bitcoin was $64k today, a year ago. on: December 25, 2022, 06:04:54 AM
The lofty heights of $64,000 & how we miss them hey. At the time I predicted we’d go much higher, I couldn’t have been more wrong though. I definitely think COVID & what happened with the world due to lockdowns stunted the price run up. I think without all that we would have gone much higher. China banning bitcoin at the same time wrecked us too.

We will get back to those prices though & go higher. It’s just going to take a few years though. We must have lots of patience but it’ll be rewarded.
1358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should be very careful with alts on: December 25, 2022, 05:57:05 AM
Crypto is a perfect engine for scammers because it's still unregulated and it's also the wild west when it comes to making money quick with less efforts. .

Apart from rugpulls and influencers scam that are very famous with altcoin investment there is one particular side I want you to be much aware of.

Many altcoins you are seeing right now are build on "Make the project, promise the entire world rare utilities and never really deliver anything, they will keep using words and investors will keep hoping.

They deliver small updates only to push the price higher.

They spent hours live streaming almost everyday.

They trust hype more than anything and a finished product will ruin it.

Keep a track of your altcoins regularly and once you see the slackness in the team it's safer to switch.

Some good advice here, also worth mentioning that if your coin has a CEO or was largely premined then it can be very risky. Decentralisation is very important in crypto, we have all seen first hand what can happen when one or a few people have too much control over a project.

I wish you all the very best of lucky but extensive research is required before significantly investing in altcoins.
1359  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Aren't FTX CUSTOMERS Victims? on: December 25, 2022, 05:52:54 AM
You're not a loser but you must learn self custody, how to take control of your own funds & not to leave them in control of any third party. Unfortunately that was your mistake with FTX, you're not the first & you won’t be the last person to do this though. What you do next is important, do you give up because you got rugged or do you learn from your mistakes? And just to add, FTX users definitely are victims.
1360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you come to know bitcoin? on: December 25, 2022, 05:43:03 AM
I heard about bitcoin on 4chan at first. That place can be full of weirdos so at first I didn’t buy which was possibly to my own detriment.

I continued to hear about bitcoin in other places so I thought why not. It turned out to be a very good investment for me. I found this forum in 2015 also which has helped a lot in my journey.
