381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: August 29, 2023, 11:31:10 AM
Many individuals with gambling addictions harbor an optimistic bias that "the next bet will be the one." It's heart-wrenching to witness gambling overshadowing all other aspects of their lives. I've personally seen friends sacrifice jobs and relationships because of this addiction. Yet, I've also observed people who gamble casually and genuinely enjoy the experience. Ultimately, gambling serves as a profound test of self-control.

The latter is the perfect example on how we should treat gambling, we can say that it can make us money but we should also know what are the limits so that we can both achieve our goals, and that is to be entertained while also gaining money on the side. Yes, losses are somehow inevitable but that's normal because in gambling, there is always two sides of coins, you either go home with a win or with losses.

On the other hand, treating gambling as a primary source of income will certainly not give us the outcome that we've thought and thinking that the next bet will be the one is a never ending process. Up until you yourself will be addicted to the cycle itself.

383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 29, 2023, 06:50:32 AM
Haney is not with PBC, he is a free agent. He even tried to negotiate a fight with Shakur but made a ridiculous lowball offer that shows he is not serious in wanting to fight him. Tank is the one with PBC but his most recent fight was against a Golden Boy/DAZN fighter, Ryan Garcia. If Tank really wants to fight Shakur, that fight would get made. Too bad Tank only seems interested in in-house mismatches or Instagram influencers with strict rehydration clauses.

Bob Arum has already said that Shakur will fight Lomachenco, just don't know when but I think that is doable since both fighters are under his wings. I just hope though the fight between Loma and Shakur is for the championship belt since Haney has already moved up to 140lbs.

With regards to Tanks Davis, it would be interesting to see him go down a bit, maybe to 130lbs to meet Inoue, that would be a massive fight if Bob Arum would agree.

It will be a championship fight if Devin Haney will leave his belts at 135 so that the remaining hungry boxers can claim it and unify it again some time soon.
But since we're not hearing any of those things, that might be a sign already that Haney doesn't want to leave his belts yet and will fight at 140 while carrying it while also testing the waters if the weight class is really for him or not.

That's a smart move from Haney himself, I mean, his journey at 140 pounds against Regis is not yet guaranteed that he will have a nice start and if he will feel that 140 is too much for him then he can always go back at 135 where he is still the strongest and holds the undisputed title for having all four belts. But even so, I don't think that he can retain those belts long enough because there is Tank Davis and Shakur Stevenson who is looking forward to grab those belts out of him.
384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: August 28, 2023, 03:50:26 PM
I wonder why Casimero accepted this fight, This Oguni is an unknown boxer I can hardly see big fights of this Japanese fighter, he has a record of 19 wins 1 loss, and only 7 knockouts, the guy is slow and cannot be considered a power puncher
here is one of his fight.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvdNnq7EE3o

We can understand if Casimero is coming from a loss, to take an easy fight like this but he is not, Casimero will not gain anything here while his opponent can gain a lot if Oguni upsets Casimero although its unlikley but possible.
Most likely this is just a stepping stone for him, not saying that this is an easy fight, but he needs to be active and to show that he could or should have a been given a chance to fight for the belt at his new weight class.

So if ever he wins this one, then for sure, early next year his rank will go up and most likely might be set up by his Japanese promoter to fight for a belt. Not necessarily Inoue, but it could be easily made as he is being manage by a Japanese so it could be done easily.
With Casimero's status does he need a stepping stone? If it's a warm-up fight it should be from a fighter that will give him a good challenge but he can also beat, not good for Casimero but a chance or opportunity for Oguni, nevertheless, I hope Casimero will not take it easy and he will show the dangerous form that he is known for.

His last fight against Fllipus Nghitumbwa was good but not impressive, People expected him to knock out Fllipus Nghitumbwa but he had a hard time knocking him out.

I expect Casimero to have an impressive win here the guy like what I posted is slow and easy to hit and is not a knockout puncher.

He sure does need a steppingstone in-order to fight against the champion at 122 because his current rank alone cannot lift him up to make it happen. And I don't think that this Oguni will be a good warm-up for Casimero because he is not even approved nor named to fight the winner of the Tapales vs Inoue undisputed fight and this Oguni cannot help him to climb the ranks because not to disrespect, but this Japanese boxer is way below Casimero's league.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 28, 2023, 01:49:41 PM
For Haney, the undisputed champion didn't even bother to explain why they chose to move the fight in October 28 and that is already a big disrespect for Regis. He wasn't even informed about why the other camp is rushing the fight. If I'm on Regis's shoes, I'd forget this deal and make another fight because I'm not the one who is chasing.

I couldn't say more because to be frank and honest, I'd do that as well if I'm the champion and Devin Haney disrespected my status. This division is certainly not for Haney because he's not yet a bonafide 140 pound boxer and he should know his position because he's not the one calling the shots here, Regis is.
And if November is the month agreed by the both camps then so be it, because in the article that I've read, both camps already agreed to contest it somewhere in November but when it's time to sign the contract, Haney suddenly proposed something out of the blue.
386  Economy / Economics / Re: What Actually Drives People/Gov to Adopt New and Bold Decisions on: August 28, 2023, 09:38:04 AM
Most likely, people tend to adopt new and bold decisions whenever they want some positive changes in their lives. Maybe they have been living a miserable life because of financial struggles, so by taking risk into new things that could make their lives greatly changed, could be a good decision that they’ll never regret in the end. It could be money and power as that’s the mostly seen highly important to people nowadays, because without it, survival could be put at a high risk.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 25, 2023, 02:47:42 PM
New York Times is reporting a quote from Giannis Antetokounmpo where he alludes to signing with a new team for the first time ever. Definitely trouble for the Bucks. He’s going to play for them this year, but to me it sounds like he’s preparing them for a departure after the season. If he goes to the Warriors and pairs with Curry, it will be the greatest team ever built.

I don't see why he would be leaving the Bucks.  I mean maybe there's internal struggles we haven't heard about, or perhaps things I simply haven't heard about, but lets say he does..greatest team ever? I think that's a bit of a stretch.  Curry is getting old, and although he's still the greatest shooter ever, he's getting old.  Klay isn't the same player he use to be either.

No way that team is better than the 72-10 Bulls.  Though of course I am biased.

I think the reason he will gonna leave bucks is because they been beaten by 8th seed. He's just bitter he can't do what he do before. Joining a warriors for what? I don't think he will be playing on warrios though but who knows. curry will retire anytime soon once he became a hall of famer.

I'm thinking that maybe he don't have any plan to leave Bucks. He just want to challenge his management and his teammates since just like what you said that is really a frustrating lose they encounter last season. Many think that they finish strong and can reach the finals but unexpectedly they are been eliminated.

But if things fall in bad place maybe he might really do that but I don't believe that he will go to Warriors since they might lose a lot of asset just to get Giannis on their team.

It wouldn't be that surprising anymore if he choose to speak up and ask for a trade next summer if the team will still fail because he is already making a warning. He may or may not do it but the team should be worry because without Giannis on their team, they already know what's next and it might take a while before they can appear and play in the post-season again.
388  Economy / Economics / Re: Any business where today you launch, tomorrow you begin making profit...? on: August 24, 2023, 09:38:04 PM
Realistically, unless you do something stupid like setting up a money laundering act for crime bosses and corrupt government officials or drug trafficking, you'd never find a way to earn that much money in so little time. When setting up a business, profit comes last. If you don't instill some sort of passion into it you'd find that all you're ever be putting out is half-assed products and services, which will then reflect in your sales and the performance of your company.

So don't go into a business with the mindset of earning money, I know that's counterintuitive but trust me. You head into a business with that kind of mindset and you'd end up losing more than just your capital.
Business is not just all about profiting but it’s also a bargain of knowledge and skills, and the passion that you put into it. Without them, surely any business will never grow and therefore no visible profits at all. That’s why if you plan to run a business, it’s not just the capital or the amount of profits that you’ll prioritize thinking, but rather it’s on how you strategize your business so it will stay competitive and take an edge in the market. Business with passion is even more ideal than building a business just for pure profits.
389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I will pass KYC later is a bad idea on: August 24, 2023, 03:37:54 PM
Not everyone want to verify their account because they're just a small gambler and not looking to make big amount of money in the casino, they're only gamble for fun. But if there's a lucky moment someone hit a jackpot and he need to verify his account, he might give his KYC because he want to withdraw his winning. Successful or not, he will not really that care since gambling is for fun.
Yes, it's true that small gamblers don't need to do KYC because only for small bets to provide identity that would be very bad in my opinion, unless we are big gamblers who often bet with big bets maybe it would be better to verify KYC at the beginning but of course look for a big and reputable casino good on this forum as it prevents the scams that are happening in some casinos lately.

I think never try to play in a small and new casino let alone verify KYC at the beginning at that casino because of course they are still prone to cheating and manipulating the terms, as long as we are still small gamblers there is no need to rush to verify KYC because we can still withdraw money without problems in big casinos, except in small casinos it might be a hassle to withdraw money, after all I like to gamble for fun not for money  Cheesy

It's quite risky because they aren't that reputable to trust our money and mainly our identity to them, anything can happen to a start-up casino as they might dissolve easily in just a few months because the target that they want isn't achieved specially these days that there are already dozens of online casinos that are already known to the community and it will be a total struggle for the new ones to compete with them. In most occasions, some gamblers might try what they are offering but that's for a limited time because one or another, they will always go back to where they want.
390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: August 24, 2023, 02:25:08 PM
Ronaldo having two and half years contract which is going to end in 2025 then most chances at the age of 40 he will retire from soccer but still stay in soccer because now he is brand ambassador of the Saudi League and Al Nassr soccer club, and they want him to stay until 2030 which is long time hopefully things will be good for them during this time.

Ronaldo has a few hidden clauses in his contract. He is guaranteed of additional payments if he stays in Saudi Arabia until the bidding for the 2030 FIFA World Cup gets finished. There is no guarantee that Saudi Arabia will be able to win the bid, but they believe that presence of Ronaldo is going to help them immensely. The Saudis actually want Ronaldo to forfeit his Portuguese citizenship in exchange for a Saudi passport, but from what I have heard his family is against the idea of settling down there on a permanent basis.

The Ronaldo family thinks Saudi Arabia as a business field only and not a place where they could settle down for good, after all, they are more accustomed to their own tradition in Portugal and so that's where the whole family will live after all of these businesses are finished. 2030 bidding might be Cristiano's limit that is why they are granting him additional payments because they need his influence to help the whole league win the bid and after that, Cristiano can retire for good from the football field.
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you go about realizing gains? If you opt not to, what is your reason? on: August 24, 2023, 08:42:55 AM
The only way to secure your profits is to start selling at any given profitable price. You don’t have to sell everything if you want and just leave the other half of your coins for future profits. After that, consider DCA again once you see the price dropping again. This way, you will never miss selling your coins for profits, as well as buying back again when there opportunities to buy. If you stick to that, at least you are following the basic rule in crypto.
392  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think privacy is important for a beginner? on: August 23, 2023, 09:46:12 PM
Privacy should be given with high emphasis not only for beginners but even to those who have been here in crypto market for long. If there are traces of scam in the beginning, then don’t be confident because you might a victim in the future because you care less of your privacy. That’s why never compromise your privacy in order to gain quick profits. You can give your KYC but make sure you’re giving it to the most reputable and trusted exchange you ever know, and not just some random new exchanges in town that are promising huge profits.
393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 23, 2023, 02:07:12 PM
Zion definitely doesn't look "scary" to me at all. He is still overweight and he can play however he wants while he plays, and he could be a good player when he plays but it has been years and he still hasn't played a single decent season, he keeps getting injured time and time after again.

I bet that if he lost some of that weight, he would have been a better player but we all know that it's not looking like he will lose any of that weight, instead he turns that fat into muscle but still if you have way too much muscle that hurts your chances of staying healthy as well, it's just too much power on joints. Imagine a 260 pounds or even more, maybe 300 pounds dude jumping very high and then going down, when he touches the floor, his knee joints is taking a punishment every single time.

He is indeed scary mate, and he will be more destructive if he can last that long every season, I bet teams that they are up against will really have a hard time specially in the off season because I know that with him in the roster healthy, they can reach much further compared to what they had done each and every season that he got a season-ending injury.

The Pelicans tried to help him though and customized his contract to make him more inspired and serious but even that failed as the problem is really Zion and his weight that keeps on bringing him down. He should be aware about it by now because if he gets more complicated each year, his career might be in a dangerous situation as any team will not need him if he cannot be an asset to them.
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Helped Create Big Changes In Your Life? on: August 23, 2023, 08:22:02 AM
Welcome to the forum mate. I would be very honest to say that bitcoin has given me great opportunities to improve my status of living. I’m not actually rich but I can say I am now living a more comfortable life compared before when I was not updated about bitcoin. I can now buy not just my needs but also some of my wants as well, and I think seeing that way, I must say that bitcoin has somehow create some big changes in my life. That’s why despite of the risks involved with bitcoin, if I would still chose between fiat and bitcoin, I will always go for bitcoin but I also make sure I did enough savings in fiat as well as most of the commodities are still traded with fiat.
395  Economy / Economics / Re: How to avoid over expenses and have discipline on: August 22, 2023, 09:57:11 PM
Focus on your needs, and disregard your wants. I know you will still be able to afford all your wants in the future if you become financially stable and secured. For now, know those things that are necessary for your survival and stick to it. That way, you will only spend within your budget and within your means, which means no overspending that will eventually ruin your financial plans. Always discipline yourself when it comes to financial matters. That’s the only way so you won’t end up relying in your debt and just learn to live within your means.
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 22, 2023, 03:12:54 PM
Winning is the ultimate targets of every gambler who seeks to be successful in the gambling space. They scout out enough time to make good analysis concerning their gambling activities, because it's broad and a gambler concentrate on certain sectors. A person who won a whooping sum of $600k profits from lottery, that's exactly how lucks works. That rarely happen these present days because the lottery is fixed by the sponsors and basically not according the gamblers prediction. We take responsibilities for whatever outcomes that comes, it's barely a month and I've made some significant profits from gambling on football games, I don't focused on lotteries because it's not my thing and I've strong feeling that it's extreme difficult, highly based on guessing and hope.
You've made "some significant profits" betting on football games, and that really impresses me. I'll clap my hands slowly for you. But the truth is, you're not special. And as for the lotto winner who scooped up a staggering $600k, it's a fool's paradise. Don't you understand? These procedures are created so that the casino wins! Every. Single. Time

Therefore, keep in mind this when you're busy congratulating yourself on your small victories: You're still complying with their rules. You'll be left perplexed when they decide to alter the game and wondering what went wrong

Your a little bit harsh on him mate, cut him some him slack, would ya? Grin
You know, he still deserves that victory no matter how big or small that was because he took a risk for it. But on the other side, or should I say dark side, I completely agree with you because that is how the reality works and the world will not stop for you just to congratulate you on what have done because the thing is, nobody really cares about it and they never will.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: August 22, 2023, 01:17:34 PM
Neymar will be useful in the long run as it will be a short-term absence. Considering that other forwards are of good quality during this waiting period, the absence of Neymar will not cause major problems. Neymar will certainly add strength to Al Hilal when he joins the team. The evolution of the Saudi league is spectacular.
In the long term, Neymar is a big hope for Al Hilal to be able to dominate all Saudi football competitions, but in the near future, Al Hilal cannot hope too much for Neymar, who is in a bad condition due to injury.
Al Hilal dared to decide to buy Neymar from PSG with the aim of strengthening the team in the longer term.
Hopefully Neymar can get well soon and can give him what Al Hilal wants.
I think Al-Hilal's goal in signing Neymar is not only to strengthen the squad but they want to cooperate commercially with Neymar. We know that it can be said that Neymar's influence is third after Ronaldo and Messi in football, therefore they want to continue promoting the saudi league with the star players they have managed to bring in. Neymar will definitely be very happy to be able to help the Saudi league and he will also contribute his experience in Europe for development here. Regarding Neymar's injury, this is nothing new for Neymar and indeed we can only hope for a faster recovery.

I guess we can call it as a package acquisition because acquiring Neymar doesn't solely mean that they are only going to benefit from his expertise and strength inside the field. Of course his influence in the sport is also a big thing because he isn't just an ordinary football player that will just show his shadow whenever they have games, Al-Hilal and the whole Saudi League is going for the bigger picture and it was the same reason why they acquired Ronaldo and attempted to get Messi and Mbappe.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth it to teach older people about bitcoin technology? on: August 22, 2023, 09:54:11 AM
Everyone deserves to learn about bitcoin. Regardless if they have the deep interest to acquire bitcoin learning, or not, at least they will be aware that bitcoin exists. I think it’s not really a must that people should actually learn bitcoin intensively, as long as they will know the basics about bitcoin and how to use it as a currency or as a tool for investment, that would be enough. After all, success is not measured how well you learned about its technology, but how did you make use of it with the right mindset and attitude that are crucial for success.
399  Economy / Economics / Re: Running faucet business in 2023 still possible? on: August 21, 2023, 09:53:37 PM
I'd like to hear it as well from someone who has ran and keeps on running it. But since there are still ones that's existing, maybe it is but not that much.

I guess that the reason for that is that it's still fun to operate it and owners of it have other sources of income which they're not dependent to the faucet website that they won.
Well, the fact that there are still some of us here manage to run a business for faucets, probably that would still work until now. However, I believe this type of business is not making the same profits anymore as it was the old times, that’s why a lot of us here are not seeing it as a reliable source of income but maybe a pastime especially if there are new faces of tokens that serve as rewards. While it may be an old trend for most of us here, but probably few of us here are still making a decent income from faucets.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 21, 2023, 02:31:34 PM
We have witnessed Tank vs. King Ry, Inoue vs. Fulton and Crawford vs. Spence. I am shaking my head why this young Devin Haney does not fight Shakur Stevenson and risk is undisputed lightweight championship against the best. These young boxers are sometimes only good in trashtalk, however, the opponents in their records are not big names.

Perhaps that's the reason why the Haney's sign with PBC, as he doesn't want to rematch Loma or fight Top Ranks Shakur Stevenson. But maybe they realized that they eat more than they can chew in choosing a reigning 140 lbs titlist in Regis Prograis. Much better, and has more power than any fighter that they have fought and so they want to take control of the negotiations in any way they can.

@Darker45 - if I'm not mistaken, the date is supposedly Oct 28 for them to clash.

This might be why we continue to witness more boxing fans start watching MMA. The organization behind boxing is in disorder because of these different promotions that compete against each other and these different championships that have their own mandatory rules. I reckon this makes it difficult for the best to negotiate with the other best and also much of the time, they avoid each other.

Haney's choice don't really make any sense in my perspective because if they want a strong boxer to establish his name, then his mandatory title defense, Shakur Stevenson is the answer for that and that is a big pot of money waiting for him. But for some other reasons, they choose to take some risks, a much risky fight against a much veteran fighter that can somehow compete against him, Regis Prograis who is also a champion at 140. And if he gets successful in his campaign, I guess the other three champions are much easier because they already took the down the bigger tree.
