401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you in profit? on: November 18, 2023, 07:22:07 PM
It should have been a poll if you wanna know the stats.  For me, I'm not in profit. Reckless bets because of aiming too high. If I have to calculate my loss, it might not be a very huge loss to decide to quit already. Its still good to keep it going. I win today the next day I lose, its the cycle that I'm in.

Gamblers show off only the bets that they won but don't know how much was lost.
402  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 16, 2023, 07:22:18 PM
Age doesn't matter for having financial stability, all that matters is being able to seized every opportunity that comes our way, I know of a girl who is already making it well as a programmer at the age of 15 now. Let even come close to this Forum, there have been alot of  young adults who have been living well even becoming millionaires because they invested in bitcoin, even teenagers can be among, its just matter how we react to opportunities.

15 seems too early to think of making money. At this age, kids will just be playing in the classroom. Not all but a kid making money will be hard for parents to control. They will think they can live on their own already.

But most of them will only be thinking of financial stability when they get married because they now have a family to support. 35-40 would be the ideal. I think by then at this age a man will settle in peace.
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: November 16, 2023, 05:47:11 PM
This is indeed one mega fight it is star-studded and headed by two former heavyweight champions, both Wilder and Joshua are expected to be the favorite here but both their challengers are expected to give them a hard fight I hope both former champions will hurdle their respective opponents so they can finally face each, its really long time coming I'm sure like many fans will watch this fight to see how former champions perform against their respective opponents.
Honestly, I am more worried about Joshua than Wilder not because Wallin is a dangerous fighter but because he is prone to upsets and has a weak character than Wilder.

Yeah, both Wilder and Joshua are heavy favorites in these matches with odds 1.17 and 1.26, respectively. But I'm more excited about Wilder vs. Parker here. Both are heavy punchers with the ability to end the fight right in the opening round. I bet the fight won't go the distance. Despite the lop-sided odds, I still think Parker can upset Wilder. As to Joshua vs. Wallin, I'm not expecting much. It will probably be not as explosive as the other bout.

And there is Dmitry Bivol. I would just bet 3 fights for this event. Despite being still young AJ is not as good as before after his first loss or there are just fighters that he couldn't really beat because of the Southpaw stance. Saudi is ramping up because people there are hungry for entertainment and they are very rich to hold events like this.

Ngannou could have been in this card if he just agreed to fight Wilder. The man fumbles the bag again, he is stubborn.

However, how much would Francis Ngannou's purse be if his team agreed to fight the Bronze Bomber instead of Tyson Fury? Correct me if I am wrong but I reckon it would not be a bigger purse than fighting Fury. Also, Tyson Fury is a champion. It was not a championship fight, however, it was better to fight Fury than someone who is not champion and who also lost to Tyson Fury hehe.

It's not as big as what he got from Fury fight but it's still big compared to his fight in UFC. But most important of all is that he may just have a rank in WBC once he gets into the legitimate 12-round bout and not just the crossover fight hype. Fighting Wilder will put him as a pro boxer.

He is hoping that Fury will once again fight him when he knows it will take long because Arum already arranged for Fury vs Usyk and all they are waiting for is injuries to be healed.

405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: November 15, 2023, 05:50:50 PM
Fighters that we think are going to be underdogs are underdogs come Sunday it will be regular boxing day, where the favorites will dominate or even knock out the underdogs but I'm hoping for a very different scenario, like a huge upset or the underdogs putting up a valiant effort even thought they lose by decision, one case here is the Ngannou - Fury recent fight where we all thought its another favorite underdog scenario, but Ngannou putting a major surprise.
I hope to see this happens in any of the fight this Sunday, just a gallant effort from the underdogs is already good.
People are paying to have a good fight so I hope we'll see something unexpected come Sunday

Yup, at least they will give us a good fight as most probably the underdog will lose here as Stevenson is a clever boxer and him being the loser is a slim possibility. I'm hoping that De Los Santos would engage and take the fight to Shakur because if not, this could become a snore feast as the latter is more of a counter-puncher.

Bookies predict that this would end up in a decision so i'm really hoping that this would not be a boring fight.

The odds are quite appealing, especially with 12 rounds to wait for the KO to occur. While Stevenson isn't known for being a knockout artist, De Los Santos is an aggressive fighter. If De Los Santos becomes careless or desperate, Stevenson might capitalize on the opportunity to land effective counter punches, potentially wearing down De Los Santos.

I agree with your prediction, mate. A 3.30 odds are always more enticing than 1.28.

We will see, that's quite appealing odds for a KO for Stevenson, specially if he will do it in under 10.5 rounds. And if someone either bet on that, it's going to be a big win as the odds is above 3.xx which is very attractive.

Is the odds for a KO win still the same? If that's the case, there's really no incentive to go for a KO win under 10.5 rounds since we have a better chance of winning if we bet on the fight going the distance. Stevenson isn't particularly known for securing victories via KO in the majority of his matches, so we're essentially betting against the odds here. But that's what makes gambling so exciting, it adds an extra layer of excitement.

So let's see how Stevenson will perform here, I'm starting to like this kid, so I will go with him winning via KO.

Nothing is great by betting on a huge odds like it and there could also a chance that you could score a KO because he needed a signature win in this division.
Great analysis! Indeed, Stevenson has a need to maintain a good reputation in this division since some view him as a boring fighter. Securing a victory via KO could really elevate his status in the boxing world, sparking conversations about the unexpected from Stevenson.

The catch, however, is that Stevenson is already a guaranteed winner. The only scenario where we might face a loss is if the victory doesn't come through a KO. (That's the risk of our bet)

It could be a UD. Shakur is a technical fighter but considerably not a KO artist, he has 10 KOs and 10 UDs under his belt. de los Santos is more of a KO artist than him, he has 16 KOs with 1 L.

Shakur by KO is still a bet to reckon with. The fight might actually do the distance til UD and still Shakur. That's what I think would happen and Shakur by decision 1.37 makes sense for the platform.
406  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people ever get tired of trading bitcoin? on: November 15, 2023, 07:44:31 AM
Trading bitcoin is not really hard for the experienced traders since they can still find ways to make profits even if the market do not looks good, but for newbies in trading, it gives them a lot of pressure as to how to win their trades despite of its unpredictable market. That creates more challenge in them to prove to theirselves that they can really trade, but if they end up seeing negative outcome frequently, that will really make them feel tired of trading and just accept the fact that they can't be good traders just like other experienced traders.

You maybe right to some extent but I will say despite that experience is an important factor in becoming a successful trader, it's not the only thing that matters and it's not always possible for experienced traders to make a profit no matter what the market is doing. Even the most experienced traders can make mistakes and there is always the chance that a trade could go wrong. Although, experienced traders have an advantage over new traders, as they have likely developed strategies and risk management techniques that can help them minimize their losses and maximize their gains. What new traders need is to have a good understanding of the psychology of trading and the ability to control emotions like fear and greed, maintain disciplined and patient and develop a solid strategy that they can stick to.

Traders will never get tired especially because they are making money out of it. And BTC price is also increasing. Reasons why they will stop trading is if they wanted to get out of the exchange due to regulation and wanna keep self custody of their coins. But generally, those who makes money out of trading, will keep trading even in the exchange that isn't very well known.

Newbies today are aware of the pattern of BTC cycle though and most advice they read online is to hold which is way simpler. Those adventurous enough are the ones going to day trade.
407  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hong Kong regulators might allow spot ETF on: November 15, 2023, 06:34:58 AM
All eyes are really on the Blackrock Spot Bitcoin ETF purely because Blackrock are the
largest asset management company in the world!

And most people expect the SEC to agree and on the other hand also compare the performance of the financial industry in the past and the results BTC shows that this will be the safest and smartest investment in the future and the way is to buy bitcoin itself. Bitcoin is basically a form of currency like USD and EUR, only it doesn't have a physical form and is instead stored online on a computer. BTW, we'll see in January 2024 whether it will be accepted or there will be another delay by the SEC like before.

There are many differences between bitcoin and EUR and USD. Besides the tangible and intangible differences, bitcoin is a decentralized currency, with a limited supply...it is completely different from the fiat money that governments are creating. Furthermore, bitcoin is considered an asset rather than a currency so I think it is more appropriate to compare it with gold or other financial markets than with USD and EUR.

Basically, there are already many bitcoin ETFs in other countries but people are still waiting for an ETF from the SEC because the US is the largest financial market as well as the world financial center. I believe the SEC will have to approve ETFs but they need a better time to make that declaration and the best time could be the Bitcoin halving event.

Well this move by the Hong Kong regulators for a spot ETF might just prompt an earlier
than expected approval of the queue of spot ETF's by the SEC?

Hong Kong is still Asia's largest financial centre to maybe the SEC might feel that HK
poses a threat and potentially a lot of investors would migrate to a HK based spot
Bitcoin ETF, is that a viable argument I wonder?

I believe that no market or financial authority is large enough to put pressure on the SEC and the US financial markets. As far as I know, the US financial market accounts for more than 45% of the entire world financial market, do you think they will need and care about what the Asian and European markets are doing? Most of the world's largest exchanges and financial institutions are concentrated in the US, do you think large institutions will leave the US market and move to HK? Large institutions like Blackrock, Grayscale and many others, why don't they choose other markets, but why are they willing to wait for SEC approval even when the SEC has repeatedly rejected their ETF proposals?

Because is Blackrock that is filing the ETF. Blackrock is bigger than SEC, it literally controls the money of the entire US market. As you can see more and more politicians  grilling SEC Gensler for not approving ETF to which Gensler already changed his tune.

Eventually ETFs will be approved, it may not be this Friday but maybe next year. If SEC doesn't approved then it equates to pissing institutions and it doesn't need SEC to move to other country where they don't have jurisdiction.
408  Economy / Exchanges / Biggest Exchange: M2 Exchange based on Abu Dhabi (UAE) on: November 15, 2023, 06:11:39 AM
This is the new M2 exchange baaed on Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The exchange allows investors to buy over 30 Verified Crypto Assets. This is gonna be big and their regulation is not inline with the US regulation. I can;t be sure if its open for everyone around the world but on what I have read on comments US citizen may not be able to register.

Kevin Oleary posted this on his linkedin.
https://www.linkedin.com/posts/kevinolearytv_abu-dhabis-m2-exchange-activity-7130216211488931840-UHZP/?trk=public_profile_share_view

Is this gonna be the next big exchange that will replace Binance as what Oleary claimed? What dyou think?
409  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack game with side bets. on: November 14, 2023, 07:50:56 PM

The Google Play page doesn't say users can bet BTC. Agree that it needs an ANN thread.

But if it is then this is one of the casino app that actually launched a casino app that we can use Crypto. There are only a few of them. The only problem with this is that OP is very new to this forum and god knows what's in it. Like what is said above, downloading something we are unsure of whether there are malware in it can hack out mobile wallets.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: November 14, 2023, 07:26:39 PM
It's still not quitting gambling if you are still up to making money in gambling-related stuff such as providing loans to gamblers, you are still gambling though you call it invest in gambling. The gambler who loses his capital again after taking a loan will have no chance of paying the loan. OP will only profit if he loans less than 50% of the real value of the collateral.

There are some other ways to invest in gambling, like creating your own online casino. If you have the funds to loan to gamblers, I think you can use the funds to instead build a reputable casino.
411  Economy / Economics / Re: Boycotting iSrAEl's product? think again. on: November 14, 2023, 06:54:06 PM

To be honest, I want to see the CEO of Nestle die in a horrible way, that company is the most evil company there together with BlackRock, Vanguard, Raytheon and Lockheed Martin.

These companies are investing in both sides and countries that produce military ammo and weapons for war whoever wins, these companies win whichever wins.
It really shows which superpower leader of this world is up for peace and who is actually supporting the war. We could really stop this without having that boycott which is the same as sanctions that don't work.

Israel doesn't have gas and oil, if they are to sanction the country, it's the gas/oil that they need to stop sending to them. But then are we not also making them suffer if we boycott these products to them? The hate will only grow faster.

413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a peer to peer method less popular than as an investment on: November 13, 2023, 07:33:37 PM

People today will consider BTC as an investment as its inherent use case of BTC. It doesn't really matter how a person will treat Bitcoin, they may look at it as a tool to gamble online or simply to send payments off the grid, whichever it is, its adoption of BTC.

If you mean peer-to-peer in a decentralized way where 2 people make transactions with no platform in between, humanity has lost trust in each other.  Grin That's what's happening. Face-to-face transactions would be possible but still risky.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your parent disinherit you eventhough you have not proven to be chronic gambler on: November 13, 2023, 05:43:04 PM
This is not you OP, right?
Don't take this personally if it were you. Parents love their sons and daughters no matter what so if they hated their son until their death, something must have happened before this gambling affair of their son.

I have no idea about inheritance law actually. But if you can change it based on the law because all kids as far as I know can have something for them from their parents, if not a house at least an old car.  But if there really isn't something you can do then the lawyer fucked you.
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin's Price Surges and Drops Unexpectedly on: November 12, 2023, 06:59:54 PM
There are certain news created  and we don't know about its reality and reason that why people are originating such news but these news alter the whole situation of market. Other thing is that people often move their desire according to the news so if they are positive then demand for bitcoin increases and when they are against people desires then they change to buy during that period. Information about coming halving is a thing which move the whole crypto market to react in a positive direction so people are willing to buy more and more therefore price act as a linear way of success. These are the reason that decrease and increase the cost of bitcoin and indirectly the cost of other coins.

People are vigilant with the crypto news, they know how volatile the price is even with news from a tiny country adopting crypto.

The bad news always brings the price down. This thread was created when the price was still 30K and then dropped to $28k as OP complained. They seemed manipulated because they knew iBTC was listed and then it was claimed to be fake and then later on they were saying iBTC was already listed long ago.
This news and confirmation detail confused traders to sell their BTC. They know it's going to happen and making traders confused about what is going on makes uncertainty in the market.
416  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Start now or later? on: November 12, 2023, 06:00:34 PM

Can I just insert my question here as I'm just as I'm also interested in mining but am unaware of which one and whether it's still profitable.
Unlike OP, our electric grip is stable but because it's going to be costly mining, I would probably choose to build a wind turbine or Solar for my power source, this however couldn't support mining BTC since the ASIC devices will need more power. Is there an altcoin that I can mine with just these sources of energy?

I will probably start when I get money after the bull run and if feasible. Seem a good idea to me.
If you are talking about mining on video cards, then look at any calculator to understand that it is now unprofitable.
https://hashrate.no/gpus
But for altcoins, many different ASIC models have now also been released, and ASICs have a faster payback period.
Wind and solar energy are unstable, and you will need a stable source of electricity.

Aren't the miners these days using green energy?
It's been claimed that more of the Bitcoin miners are already using Solar and Wind because of ESG compliance? or I must have read the wrong articles.
What if you live on top of the mountain or just along the shoreline, I think the wind turbine works well in that kind of area. It will keep turning day and night.
And with just the right kind of battery, I think it can sustain. I just have not seen anyone doing it though.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use bitcoin when gambling? on: November 12, 2023, 05:34:40 PM
Seeing how bitcoin's fees have gone up a lot, I would assume that with the plethora of options for cheaper transactions, people must be using other options much more. Some might even prefer to use conventional means such a debit or credit cards.

Whatever your preference is, feel free to express why that is and also answer the poll (optionally). It's for research purposes only. Cheesy

This is only applicable for those user who stored their Bitcoin on exchange or not a Bitcoin holder naturally but as a Bitcoin holder, I still use Bitcoin to gamble since I need to still hold it while gambling so that I will not missed out the pump. A 2$-3$ fee can be easily recovered through a single bet and it’s really inconvenient to send my token from non custodial wallet to exchange just convert it on token that has cheaper fee.

I believe many user still use Bitcoin to gamble if they are a natural Bitcoin holder that is gambling regularly since the high fee is not that high to the point that it almost cover most of the balance on the transaction.

I see many of us must have stopped sending BTC because of the high fee. Crazy that it won't adjust automatically, there should have been a system for this because this happens every time the price of BTC goes high.

But even before the high fee, I have been using altcoins in playing on casinos. From Doge to TRX it's always a good option to make use of them whenever the casino accepts them as well. Among the altcoins, I prefer Doge though.

418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]Adrien Broner vs Chris Howard (Welterweight) Nov 4. . on: November 11, 2023, 05:10:07 PM

I was confused as well because I hadn't seen any updates in social media regarding this fight and I want to see Broner fight again because he was an entertainer and an arrogant boxer I really like to see him lose Grin Cheesy

By the way, if he only not get carried away and became arrogant both inside and outside the ring, people would really want to see his comeback fight but what can we do, that's just how he is and he has more talk than punches throughout the rounds.
He always defends himself with his blind alibis whenever he loses a fight, this habit will be stopped when he gets knocked out I hope Howard knocks Browner out so he can stop his arrogant behavior, his been staying in this business for too long raking up too many losses, I don't think he has a chance to win a title the welterweight champions Ennis and Crawford are on top of their games and they they are on peak of their career it will be suicidal for Browner if he dare faced these two champions.

It sometimes pays to be one of the most hated cocky boxers of this time. With his behaviour he still can book himself to fight despite how he got crazy in the McDonald's store. Broner is already suicidal, if I remember correctly he also wanted to fight Mayweather, he called Floyd for a fight.

The posts above say this fight was moved to Dec 2 as co main event of Ryan vs Duarte. Broner still has it, he also fought earlier this year. He is still 34 I think he still can fight at least to make money.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Andre August - December 15th in Florida on: November 11, 2023, 03:12:59 PM
A 35 year old club fighter who has fought mostly guys with losing records is the type of opponent I would expect a young novice fighting 4 rounders would fight. Jake Paul has been a pro long enough that he should at least be fighting some fringe contenders. There are plenty of faded eastern european former champions with some name recognition that would be more suitable opponents.

They are trying to spin this in a positive way by saying that Canelo and Crawford fought guys with really poor records in their ninth fight but the comparison is ridiculous because those guys were very young, Canelo was only 16 in his ninth fight. Loma and Inoue already fought multiple world champions in their ninth fight but they don't make that comparison because it's obviously stupid.

Jake isn't trying to build a legitimate career. He is cherry picking an easy opponent with the hope of getting a highlight reel KO and perhaps people will be dumb enough to fall for this farce that it will convince them to throw $80 down the toilet next time he fights a has been UFC fighter on PPV.

No one said the work was supposed to be hard. Thats also a good point just to be fair to Jake. He was just enjoying his time at Disney when he was 16 while petting Selena and Ariana Grande.  But when it comes to making money with his fights, the guy is a genius and I suppose anyone could give it to him because even the big names are already coming forward following his steps.

He should be asking Pacman, that guy is legendary and very sportsman who will still be fighting as long as people watch. As old as he is though he is very quick still with his jabs.
