441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 08, 2023, 03:26:34 AM

It would be funny to see themselves in the future when BTC becomes the legal tender in your country and they still will not admit you are right about investing in BTC.
They will not say you are right about it and will find faults in BTC instead of using it. So they will find fiat still despite the advantageous profit of buying BTC.

I would probably want to show them my kindness and give them some discount if they need to buy BTC. Yep only kindness matters.  Grin
442  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hong Kong regulators might allow spot ETF on: November 08, 2023, 01:47:12 AM
Every country is going to have to offer their people a Bitcoin spot ETF in the future. Not doing so would be hurting themselves financially and their future prospects. Even though Vanguard claims they never will, I’m sure they too will not be able to resist the fees and cries of their customers to bring a Bitcoin spot ETF product to market.

Agreed, however, the question I am presenting is whether the only modest take up of the futures ETF in America and in Hong Kong could be taken as a precedent for the spot ETF's performance. I reckon if thr answer is yes or maybe then similar to @Tytanowy Janusz's speculation, the effect of the spot ETFs on bitcoin might be overhyped.

It's overhyped because people already have it in mind that institutions are not getting in without regulation such as the ETF approval. Thus once they get in, BTC price will skyrocket while BTC on exchanges are getting low for people are also withdrawing their coins. But we have seen the price action when iBTC was listed on dtcc even when it's uncertain yet.

I think BTC will be just like gold and the difference is that because it's digital it's easy to buy and easy to sell.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: at which point of a boxing match you consider cashingout? on: November 08, 2023, 01:32:22 AM

I think it is more of a pragmatic approach to push that cashout button whenever necessary especially if you are watching the game live and somehow you see a hopeless situation to win. When you see you bet $50 and then you see your fighter starts to gas out, time to push the button to save at least $20 of that amount.

This is better in MMA fights than in boxing. The boxers mentioned tough ones which will happen this weekend. I think Progais vs Haney will end in a decision actually, just my prediction, and if you are going to watch out for which of them has the edge and you think you'd be losing your bet, a pragmatic approach is to cash out right at the 10th round upon playing as a judge yourself. When you see your fighter lost about 7 rounds, time to weigh the decision.
444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 07, 2023, 04:13:38 PM

But Tom Aspinal VS Sergei Pavlovich is one interesting fight and his fight will be shown in that particular fight,

For me this fight is way more interesting than main event, as these two are potential next heavyweight champions. With Jiri and Pereira it looks like it is already clear who is going to win. UFC decided to throw Jiri, a guy who returns from injury and havent fought for more than a year, into a monster with concrete fists. Imho Pereira gonna land his left hook and finish everything in first or second round. But in a fight between Pavlovich and Aspinal, its power against tactics. That is really interesting to watch. As I have never seen Pavlovich defending against bjj.

Dana should have just stripped Jones of his belt and let the two fight for it to make this event bigger.

On the ground is the last thing Pavlo wants, if he can remain standing he will prefer to fight on his feet.
Pavlo was taken by Overeem and with almost no struggle Overeem hammered him to KO.  Aspinall could do this too if he finds Pavlo hard to hit because of the jabs. But because Pavlo is a big guy, he would need rapid punches to flatline a heavyweight like Pavlo.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Meta's no ads subscription and gambling disorder. on: November 07, 2023, 02:52:58 PM
What are your thoughts?
As far as I know, Meta generally generates overall revenue from advertising. Even though Meta announced this, it doesn't apply to the whole, it only applies to the EU, EEA and Switzerland.
As far as I know, these are the points:
Quote
Please note there will be no changes for users who do not wish to pay the new tax. Ad-supported experiences will remain available on both platforms.

No impact, those of us who live outside the EU, EEA, and Switzerland, still see gambling advertisements, on a large scale.

Even though the new rules will be implemented by Meta in March 2024, several countries have already taken firm action against META.
For example:
Quote
"As of October 11, 2023 META has followed up on the strike by removing more than 1.65 million gambling content as well as more than 450,000 gambling ads targeting users".

So in my opinion, the META rules will not run smoothly, the ad will still run, unless: do as I quoted above.

Those who are outside those countries are just going to keep resisting the temptation of those ads. They could avoid social media if they want, but these days everyone is on Facebook.  It's like you live in isolation if you are not found on facebook and the majority of the people today are relying on social media for the daily news.

However, even if they live in EU, EEA, and Switzerland there are still videos on facebook where gambling-related ads are hard coded. There are subtitles that provide links to casinos. These are hardcore combatant spammers.
446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What I did just to invest in Bitcoin. on: November 06, 2023, 04:10:19 PM
I don't support you for selling your family land to invest in bitcoin. For want you have done, you two risk in the investment of bitcoin. The number one risk is your family because the angry ones can use diabolical means to kill you, so by selling the family is a serious risk you have taken. Then the last risk is bitcoin investment. Now that you sold the land to invest in bitcoin how long are you hodling the coins? You have to understand the precautions from the both side before taking a decision which will not affect you. Family land issue should be handled with care.

I exactly felt the same way, selling your family's land could might be a selfish thing to do as you decided to sell if without their willingly to sell it, plus the fact the Bitcoin investment is consider a huge risk to enter as well, so there's no guarantee it could pay back or it might take a long time before you reach your target price with Bitcoin. It's normal for your family to be mad, cause imagine all the sacrifices they have made just to own a property land because nowadays every land are now pricey and expensive as the time goes by. I think it would side with OP, if the case is he's all alone taking this kind of decision, but when it comes to family land, you would need to communicate each other and take everyone's approval, cause for sure every rejection have a reason that's why y'all need to be opened with each other.

While users will not buy this story, it's still not recommended to sell secretly the land you don't even own. It is a crime by the way. But let's say he really did it and maybe it's his last ditch to achieve his dreams. He better not mess it up by the time he makes money in the bull run and buys the family land back otherwise, it's a huge dispute where siblings fight to death for a piece of land.

Anyway, not believe that story still.  But there are several ways to earn BTC instead that's the way to go. The games and rounds section of this forum allows everyone to earn BTC just by playing the games.
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice for new comers on: November 06, 2023, 02:22:34 PM
Start with a small amount of money, don't try for a huge amount especially when you are unaware whether the casino is reputable which leads to the most important advice, make sure the casino you play with is reputable and not a scam.

Since you are already here int he forum, update yourself all the time because this will make you aware of new casinos to try out. Take advantage of the free bets they offer.
448  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The world economy and global systemic terrorism. on: November 05, 2023, 05:25:28 PM
Fighting against corruption is the most difficult thing for the government to do to control it. How can corrupt officials be controlled if the President of the country himself is corrupt? But if the highest leader of the country is not corrupt and the majority under him is corrupt, this is a serious problem or challenge for that leader to subdue the corrupt little by little.

But even if it can't be removed or swept away, for sure it will be reduced and removed from the government. That has already happened in the country I belong to; the corrupt have really decreased. That's why, until the end of his term, there are still corrupt officials left. It is as difficult to defeat the enemy if the enemy is the government itself.

I generally consider corruption to be one of the greatest evils of our world. And here the fight must be fought by all possible methods - from the legislative framework, which is quite tough, to "technical solutions" such as CBDC, which allows you to control virtually all flows of money. Control and monitoring of incomes/expenses, strict punishments (fines), exceeding the level of illegally obtained profit by orders of magnitude, prevention through payment of information about corruption schemes (for example, 10% of the fine mentioned above).... The point is that a person, or a citizen, if he does not understand that stealing is a crime, should simply be afraid of punishment. It does not sound very nice, but there are no other methods of struggle. Unfortunately, it is impossible to fight evil with "hugs" Smiley

It doesn't end for the government also allows it, even in the small city a crime gang is being used by the intelligence department to track who are corrupt officials and small time criminals. The government only pins them down when favorable or there is a reason.

Hamas for example is not considered terrorist in Gaza but a political party. Same with breakaway region in my country the local crime group here are called Freedom Fighters but if this crime group disturbs a big operation that involves corrupt officials, they will be declared as terrorist too. They're just narrative.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Practices for Staying Safe When Gambling on: November 05, 2023, 03:34:26 PM

^^
Don't think about it too much. "the house will always win" keep this in your mind.
The house will always win not because it's luckier than you, not because it has thrown some sort of spells. No, they will always win because they see prepared. You can't convince me, sorry. To stay safe, just gamble what you can afford to lose or stay away from gambling.
Those words will always be in my head and be an alarm for me personally when I lose, all gamblers know that "the bookie will always win" against all its users at any time, so I will not be lustful and tempted again to make additional deposits just to chasing losses and recovering my lost capital, I think gambling should be with money that we are ready to lose because it is a safe way for us not to become addicted, as we know it is difficult to cure if addicted.

I always limit my gambling budget and where this limit always keeps me gambling safely so that I don't gamble beyond my limits, let alone become addicted, the point is, never force yourself to gamble with the money you need for your living needs, because of course that will make us feel guilty when we lose it. so gambling in a safe way is to limit an appropriate budget and be ready to lose.  Grin

There are some sports bettor who are staying safe in betting or at least keeping it as safe as possible by putting their money on favorite team or fighter. It make sense but they only win a little amount every win you know this by just the odds like 1.20 or so. And when they lose it would need a series of wins before they could recover the loss. It is a good strategy if majority of their bets are winning. Unfortunately I follow their bet slip for sometime and they lose 2 out of 5 every time.

The safest I found it just use the tokens I earn from staking and that's what I use to bet. No big loss that's for sure but no big win either until this bull run started.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are too focused on history repeating itself on: November 05, 2023, 02:15:31 PM

Bitcoin usually don't need a blackswan, it only needs the halving for it to kick start the bull run. But lets say the blackswan in 2020 was indeed the Covid, during that time people received their stimulus packages. The get money for free.

This time there is no stimulus but somebody figured its the ETF that is going to be the blackswan. If we are to keep waiting for it then maybe its not really the blackswan we wait for.
451  Economy / Economics / Re: AI will put an end to work, says Elon Musk on: November 04, 2023, 08:23:15 PM
We haven't had the AI yet but there are already massive layoffs everywhere so there gotta be truth to what they are saying about WEF when everything works according to their plans, workers are replaced by robots in a smart city they'd build.

Elon of all people has been developing an AI, he should know how sophisticated AIs have become. The robots at MIT can even be deployed in a war in which they can shoot weapons and decide when to shoot or not.
452  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are there any companys offering insurance policys for crypto exchanges ? on: November 04, 2023, 03:19:36 PM

Even if the exchange offers insurance, you won't be able to get the whole amount of assets. This will be like the FDIC which the amount offered is $250,000 regardless of how much millions you have.

The best thing to do is just take them out from exchanges and send them back if you want to trade again or sell in the bull market. There is no safer way than to keep your coins in your wallet.
453  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betfury will not pay the promised bounty for bugs found on: November 04, 2023, 02:57:31 PM
How much would it have been if they credited the bounty to OP?
It does need a very meticulous mind to become a bounty hunter and he could have abused these bugs if he wanted to but he reported it. I think its fair to get compensation for it.

Looks like it is hard to understand the images provided by OP but just wanted to say it is good to bring up the subject like this for other casino owners to learn from this kind of situation.
454  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🍀DAILY $ GIVEAWAY🍀BetHash.io🍀 | $500 WEEKLY RACE |💰Lottery 🎲Dice 🎰Slots on: November 03, 2023, 06:31:31 PM

Yes, that's correct! The entire balance is recycled and any staked HASH are recycled as well. The process is automatic. This is mainly happening to people who came to test the platform and have there a few cents or dollars left. The main stakers of the platform are using their own EOS wallets.

Do you mean in order for our account not to be purged we'll have to withdraw our HASH out to our personal wallet? How do we stake them?
This makes the clients go away from your casino really. What constitutes being inactive that you consider purging, is it when they stop playing, or if the account stops logging in?
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Massive rise on bitcoin price, Is this a bullish Sign or ETF hype? on: November 03, 2023, 05:40:30 PM

I could also say this is an ETF hype but because the halving is also very near investors are looking forward to this bull market. The ETF definitely has convinced my investors and I think we are also going there because of the Blackrock confirming they want their iBTC approved.

And given that people need to hedge because of the rising inflation, they will really come buying for more. The coming halving makes the bullish sign, its just months away, someone says we'll get to that block by April.
456  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I want to start a Gambling operation and you can join ! on: November 03, 2023, 04:32:12 PM
I suddenly lost all my btc so I need to activate an emergency plan (which will pay for my next rent)

You do realize that it sounds like a red alert for the potential partner?
When someone is on the brink of failure, it's only a matter of time before they snap. The potential partner will look at this as if this gambling operation of yours will be the source of funds for your rent.

Affiliate marketing experience and SEO skills take time before they work and in crypto casinos, they invest more in the reputation and not on whether the casino ranks above the searches because its what matters the most.
457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting online courses? on: November 03, 2023, 01:56:27 PM
Since betting online requires only a few bucks, people today just go ahead and learn how to do it. Whether they lose a few bucks and win, its just a learning process. The time when I tried circumventing the casinos, I was also trying out different games and reading some strategies that people are sharing. They don't usually work but when you are a beginner you may actually try it.

Here are some sports betting course you can find in Udemy https://www.udemy.com/courses/search/?src=ukw&q=sports+betting
Not sure if its really worth it but you can figure the ratings.
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: November 02, 2023, 07:41:43 PM
I don't follow boxing as much as I use to when I was younger. I really miss the days of the big time legendary heavyweights such as Tyson, Holyfield, Lennox Lewis etc.  Today it seems like the guy, or heavyweight that I see the name most often pop up is Fury. Has he been the best heavyweight for some time?  Is there anyone else coming up to challenge him?

I wanting to start to learn more about boxing so I can start placing some bets on the matches.

There's Usyk, a Ukrainian Jr HW but has unified some belts in the heavyweight as well. It's why the most awaited fight in history is Fury and Usyk but this is very uncertain yet. They were scheduled to fight this Dec 23 but once again moved. Before this, they were supposed to fight last year as well.  Either Arum or the two are just not meeting in the middle with how much is each cut.

Now they bring Ngannou on the stage, I guess all eyes are on him and Ngannou grabs the camera to himself and wants to fight every HW that agrees. I think he is fighting Anthony Joshua or Doentay Wilder this Dec. 23. They couldn't pick a better day to surprise us all for, everyone wants to spend this very holiday.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigerians spend $975m daily on online betting on: November 02, 2023, 05:59:16 PM
Despite how poor the country is, the people are still engaging in gambling. I think this is because the population is more than 230M which was said above the government must have been making huge profits from these gambling citizens. That is one means of source for their government. They only have a few options for its source though. If the poppy plant just grows in the region, they may actually be producing opium.

We wouldn't wonder anymore why there was a lady and a kid crying to give back his school money to him after losing on bookies.
460  Economy / Economics / Re: In times of war, Gold rises. What about Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2023, 05:43:15 PM
I've seen Gold market prices rising lately as a result of the current Israel-Hamas conflict. However, Bitcoin hasn't experienced any upsurge in price. It's still hovering around the $26k range. Something similar happened during the Russia-Ukraine war.

Is it because investors still don't trust Bitcoin as a store of value? Or is it something else?
Store of value is the only thing that makes bitcoin a lot better, I get that not everyone may see it that way but the reality is that it IS  a store of value and will continue to be so. I think it would be useless to call it anything else. I get that it may not be all that easy to trust it because we have seen the volatility but the volatility is just bigger, not any other way around.

So, when dollar loses value (or your fiat of choice) that would make bitcoin go up and that is why I keep investing into it. I know that bitcoin will be more valuable in the future, gold too, but gold would go up just a little whereas bitcoin will go up a lot. So, always investing into bitcoin is a smart choice and does end up helping your finances. This is why many people prefer gold because they are not aware of how much better bitcoin can be, and that is understandable but yet it is not understandable if you know about bitcoin and you still somehow prefer gold over bitcoin, that would be a mistake.

Bitcoin just proves it can rise in times of war which it just did last night. We are yet in the skirmish wars in different regions there isn't yet a huge war that involves a huge fleet but it seems to be unstoppable this time.

But so is gold though so both of them are like a hedge when the future is very uncertain. But when it comes to being easy to carry and not confiscable by someone, Bitcoin champions it all.
