461  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial education and why it should be a priority. on: January 17, 2024, 04:06:41 PM
You are right very much. The thing is, current education system don't want you to be financially literate. If you know finance, you'll know how money works. You'll understand how businesses work. If you understand all those, you'll become a guy who runs his own business. If everybody starts their own business... who'll be wage slaves? People go to school so they can be white collar slaves. Not too stupid to fuck shit up and not too smart to start their own start-up. People who see through this scam don't really give a fuck about a college degree. Imagine having the best college degree only to work for somebody else. You can't be dumber than this.
462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying house rent with bitcoin is it appropriate? on: January 17, 2024, 03:50:04 PM
It is not really different than paying in USD. Like you said, the landlord can convert his coins into USD any time he wants in the end. Bitcoin is better than FIAT when it comes to preserving value but it is not as good as FIAT when it comes to the transaction fees. If I were the tenant, I wouldn't waste money on the tx fees... Instead I would pay in USD because it is much cheaper (often free). If the landlord has no interest in btc, just pay him FIAT. Everybody will be happy. Remember: FIAT is better for spending, btc is better for hodling. You keep btc, spend FIAT.
463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another question? Tell me your average amount per bet and your monthly income? on: January 16, 2024, 03:00:47 PM
Nobody should declare his/her monthly income on the internet. I know we can lie about it but still some people might take it seriously and you'll attract some unwanted attention because of it. I can tell you that I am gambling less than my 1% of my monthly income. That's as casual as it can get. It is because I can find a more useful way to spend my money. When I gamble, I can win or lose but when I make an investment, the chances of making returns are far greater. That's the only way to grow your money. Don't trust your luck, trust your skills. If you don't have any skills, gambling still isn't the right answer. You should work/study to get some skills.
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making too many picks reduces chances of winning. on: January 15, 2024, 06:48:42 PM
Same with investing. People like to diversify their investments but over-diversification is as bad as going all in on one asset. Peter Lynch even calls it "diworsification". Some people can track many picks/investments at the same time and still be successful while some others can't handle more than 5 picks/investments. The number changes from person to person... Everybody should know their own limitations and we can only find out about it when we try different approaches. Sometimes I see those crazy bet slips where people bet on more than 10 games and still get a huge return. As long as you able to make money, everything else is just noise.
465  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can we understand market going to be Bear? on: January 14, 2024, 04:16:19 PM
A bear market is when a market experiences prolonged price declines. It typically describes a condition in which securities prices fall 20% or more from recent highs amid widespread pessimism and negative investor sentiment.

If a bitcoin miner wants to invest in the next generation of ASICs and therefore sells 20 Million USD worth of bitcoin, we will probably have at least one bear day even in current volume.

Do you think if somebody sells 20 million USD worth of btc on the markets, the prices will dive 20%, globally? (because that's how we define bear markets.) I don't think so.

How would you predict that with Technical Analysis?

I don't know. I am not a technical analysis expert. You should ask the pros at trading view. They have all kinds of explanations there supporting their arguments with charts, lines and shit.
466  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can we understand market going to be Bear? on: January 14, 2024, 12:32:47 PM
We know better cryptocurrency market always unpredictable. Yet we invest in the cryptocurrency market. Sometimes the market gradually turns to bear.
My question is how do we know if the market will go bearish.

To understand it, you need to know what a bear market is:

A bear market is when a market experiences prolonged price declines. It typically describes a condition in which securities prices fall 20% or more from recent highs amid widespread pessimism and negative investor sentiment.

But then, you will ask:

"How can we predict the bear market before we go into the bear market? (before going down 20%)"

The answer is:

"Technical Analysis"

This book looks like a great start. It has many good reviews.
467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to manage gambling winnings on: January 14, 2024, 11:56:30 AM
Earning interest for amount meant for payment of future obligation is a smart move and a sound advice. Some "finance guru" would even charge $ for that piece of knowledge hehe. Do you not make adjustments on how much you set aside for taxes? I thought gambling losses are not deductible based on your post but it is when I checked.

Earning interest probably beats many other investments lately. 5-5.5% annual interest is pretty dope already and Binance gives you way more for your USDT. (real time apr + bonus is rate 12% right now) Why would anybody invest to expand their business when they can expand their money by 10%-15% doing nothing nothing? If the OP puts his $100k on Binance, he will make ~$10k+ in a year which covers the most of his tax payments. All of that will change when the FED starts dropping the rates. Then the asset prices will go boom again and the inflation will be much much higher than what it used to be.
468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Land-based Casino Enjoyers are something else. on: January 14, 2024, 07:10:58 AM
Shiiet. Normally I kind of favor real life casinos over the virtual casinos but stuff like that makes me puke. That's the risk we take when you we outside and see real people. Sometimes they are nice people, sometimes they are sick in the head or stomach and they shit/pee all over the place... when I see that crap I thank god that I am not an employee there who experience a similar situation occasionally. I can go home and never interact with any people for 10 days straight but these poor employees have to do it every day. I guess there should be a balance between two life styles. Sometimes we need to see gross people too. It is also part of living.
469  Economy / Economics / Re: Vitalik Buterin's Financial Advice on: January 13, 2024, 04:15:10 PM
Vitalik Buterin Took to Twitter to share Some of His Financial Advice.
quoting a Tweet About Bill Gates and Warren Buffett He Wrote:

Quote
Some actual financial advice:

* Diversification is good.
* Save. Get to the point where you have enough to cover multiple years of expenses. Financial safety is freedom.
* Be boring with most of your portfolio.
* Don't use >2x leverage. Just don't.
Tweet Link: https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin/status/1743991285214527532

What are Your thoughts about his financial advice guys? I like the first and 2nd which I've been doing by myself too.

I think Charlie Munger's soul found a new host.

Wtf  "be boring" is supposed to mean?

You are Vitalik for fucks sake. You invented the biggest alt in the universe. You TOOK risk. Why is he talking like a boomer out of a sudden now?

Is there a malfunction in Vitalik's code? Somebody go and debug his brain.
470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the view of an average citizen About crypto currencies on: January 13, 2024, 04:12:12 PM
Bitcoin will always be cheap against the USD because even though people are interested in both; one of them has limited supply, while the other (USD) doesn't. One can simply not put a future price on BTC. We are talking about long term right? Let's say 10 years. 10 years later, I am pretty sure the price of a bitcoin will be higher than what it is now and it won't be just a little bit higher. It will be much much much higher. If you are a long term investor, these prices are quite cheap. Will it really matter if you bought btc from $30k or $40k when the price hits $500k+? I don't think so.
471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Your Exchange to Wallet Ratio? on: January 13, 2024, 03:42:15 PM
1 to 4 at the moment. I don't want to keep any coins on the exchange at all but like every other guy who makes trades, I don't really have a choice. At least I am not 100% on the exchanges like many people. I will only lose 20% of my crypto if the exchange goes down. 20% is still a big amount but that's the risk I am willing to take because no risk = no gain. I wish decentralized exchanges were more popular and safe but somehow they never took off. I guess trading will always happen on the centralized exchanges and some people will always lose money... It doesn't look like this will change anytime in the future.
472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and his steps in nowadays integration. on: January 13, 2024, 07:21:15 AM
As long as you pay taxes, you will never be completely free. The gov owns everyone’s ass. Either accept it and move on, or fight it and lose like every other loser in the books of history. Bitcoin gives you an illusion of privacy. It is like having a bath behind frosted glass. Everyone can sense there is a naked person having a bath there but nobody can tell her identity. When somebody (you may call it the police or whatever you like) with a big bad hammer smashes the glass, then all the privacy goes away. Bitcoin gives you a frosted glass like privacy till the gov smashes it.
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing Bitcoin price history is important on: January 12, 2024, 07:04:00 PM
My trust in Bitcoin grew exponentially when I knew the price history of Bitcoin.

Sorry but I had to stop reading your post right there. The way I see it, you just found a way to f yourself exponentially. It is because the charts only give you the past data. They don't really tell you anything about the future. If you want to trust btc, look at its fundamentals. Look at its adoption rate. See how many mercs do business with btc. A good chart doesn't mean anything if btc fees keeps rising and the network becomes unusable for many people. All of that could come down very quickly. Slowly at first, then suddenly.
474  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF on: January 12, 2024, 03:50:13 PM
It looks like Bitcoin ETF was just another hype on the hype-train and it was priced in way way earlier but people didn't notice it. They expected a bull run to $100k... which hasn't happened yet... a bull run to $100k may still happen but it probably won't be triggered by the ETF. The next halving is a better bet now. Remember BAKKT was yuuge too but once it happened, nothing has happened. Nowadays nobody even remembers wtf BAKKT was. Seriously wtf was it about again?
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Intersection of Bitcoin and Gaming Industries on: January 12, 2024, 03:14:11 PM
Blockchain-gaming yes, bitcoin-gaming please fucking no. Bitcoin can't even act as a currency anymore because of the NFT freaks and what you talk about is going to bring cryptokitties like load on btc and it will be far far worse. It is a different story if you think LN is a good solution for your idea though. If that's the case, then I can support it. Just don't build it on the first layer and we will be good.
476  Economy / Gambling / Re: UNREAL!! Sportsbet.io pays out a $42,000,000 USDT Casino WIN!! on: January 11, 2024, 05:42:18 PM
Super big if true. $42 million ain’t a small amount for sure. If sportsbet.io can pay out that much, they must have a yuuge bankroll. Probably one of the most financially stable casino out there is sportsbet.io. A casino as solid as this could even finance bankrupt 3rd world countries. The lucky basturd who won it will use that money wisely hopefully. Also don’t forget to pay your taxes. I am pretty sure the tax agency will want to have their taste from this newly found yuuge wealth.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does it looks responsible as woman telling husband you gamble? on: January 11, 2024, 06:45:33 AM
No matter how good you are at controlling your emotions while gambling, I still think you should tell your husband about your gambling habits. That kind of secrecy between the couples is no good. If you think your husband won't like it, it is not the end of the world. If he is a good guy, he will try to understand you or offer solutions... Maybe he will join you and both of you make bets together. If you keep this secret though, and he finds out about it somehow, now that's the worst possible outcome because he will think: "If she didn't tell me about her gambling habits, what else is she hiding from me?" And all the trust between you and him will be gone just like that.
478  Other / Politics & Society / Re: pretend dead in real life on: January 10, 2024, 08:42:59 AM
Sometimes people just want to be left alone or they don’t want to interact with you. Admit it and move on. You can’t force anybody answer your calls. Especially if she/he is not a family member and it is not a matter of life and death. You don’t like his attitude? Fine then next time you won’t respond to his calls also. I personally think the less people we meet the better it is. Especially in this age there is a fuckface waiting to ruin your day on every corner. There are some good people out there too but they are the minority so…
479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Approves ETF - Turns out, NOT on: January 10, 2024, 08:35:02 AM
How many people lost money because of this fake tweet? People should sue the SEC imo. When you are an important government agency, you simply can’t afford to get hacked. I am not buying this bullshit. The SEC manipulated the markets right in front of everyone and these are the guys that was supposed to protect us from the manipulators. Also this is just the beginning. Imagine what will they do when they approve the ETF and have unlimited power over the btc price. They will build a casino where the only winners are Blackrock
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will any other coins like Bitcoin be discovery in the future? on: January 09, 2024, 01:33:57 PM
Possible but unlikely. If bitcoin keeps updating itself, there will be no need for a new crypto in the first place. The only problem btc has right now is the high fees. When the devs solve that problem btc will become the perfect asset. They tried to solve the problem with LN but LN is a bit hard to use and it is not decentralized if you use custodial wallets so I understand why many people don’t want to use it. If the devs don’t fix these issues though, some other project might replace btc. It happens all the time in tech world. Obsolete tech dies and gets replaced.
