481  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think if Bitcointalk accepted videos? on: March 29, 2024, 06:33:21 PM
not all forums do have this kind of functionality but having a video that can be played without going out of the forum will encourage deeper discussions. videos are good topic starter, especially with the news that is happening all over the world or even just the videos of crypto influencers, they are increasing too.

and most of all why it's a great idea is because we can finally post memes from twitter and youtube here once it's put into action.
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone have staking FDUSD on Binance? on: March 29, 2024, 05:52:17 PM

the market will be bullish soon so you might wanna compare how much you will be earning from staking against holding BTC while in a bull market.
it will be a good idea to stake when the bear market starts, this will be a better timing than now.

and FUSD is new, i think i saw this stablecoion for the first time in yobit. i would probably avoid it and just keep on USDT and since you are in finance i guess BUSD will make sense.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman-Fried, the "Crypto King" jailed for 25 years on: March 29, 2024, 05:04:52 PM

he stays 25 years inside, he comes out of the jail with his asshole's radius as wide as 25 inches. he's a freak of nature now, he'd be freaker then.

if i am one of those who lost money through FTX, i wouldn't mind if this guy gets out of jail the next day as long as a percentage of my money will be recovered.
makes no sense when there is no discussion about whether the investors can get their money back.

484  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's happening to kucoin? on: March 29, 2024, 04:54:04 PM

they were operating for a long time but times up, time to pay up and the founders just ran. it's not new anymore and if users are laundering through their exchange, ready or not they will be guilty.

they will be found somewhere just like Do Kwon. if they aren't in the next few months then we might just hear the same story as that founder of a Canadian exchange that died.
485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman Fried (scam banker fraud) 25 years on: March 29, 2024, 04:40:21 PM
so the sentencing is in.. and it seems he is getting 25 years. good(shoulda got longer)
obviously he will try and appeal it. but atleast he isnt going to get to play CEO again any time soon (he was hoping to be allowed to be free to get back to business to 'make everyone whole' unpunished)

this might make a few other scammers realise trading in crypto does not alleviate them of the law, a scam is still a scam no matter what the asset/value/currency is

He would have learnt his lessons same as everyone of us to have our assets in our custody, but i wonder how the judgement of 100 years turns to be 25 years, aside this, this indeed will teach everyone a lesson that no one is above the law, but i just pity those that have already been a victim of this man mistakes, some are yet to recover from the downfall he has caused them till date.
\

his parents have friends so he got a lighter sentence. and from what i heard he used the autism excuse, i don't know if it worked but maybe this is the result.

i still think the guy was used by Gensler. he isn't the real head of the criminal, Gensler knew him from the beginning. Sam doesn't look like he could plan it all but because he is the CEO, i guess the blame is on him.

486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is all this memecoin hype about? on: March 29, 2024, 04:24:30 PM
I just don't get it. What puts such a intense hype on meme coins?
<...>

Memecoins seem to run mostly on hype.  The excitement around them comes from silly names, celebs talking them up, and viral online communities more than anything else.  Not all memecoins even have a clear purpose in the real world - it's more like people hope they'll randomly blow up to be the next Dogecoin. But that seems like a big gamble rather than an investment.

Im not saying all memecoins are shit. Some have potential if the community rallies behind them. But more often it feels like everyone's just trying to make a quick buck - the developers rugpull laughing all the way while regular folks are left holding the bag. At some point the hype train always comes to a stop.

any shitcoin can be valuable when a crowd makes it valuable. in the case of doge for example people are just using it and paying and gambling using doge. it still look like a joke with a doge face on a coin and it without the community adding value to the market and not using doge, it will have no value.

same thing with the memecoins that are appearing these days, people are buying them in the market. though it didn't yet find its usecase but because there are people buying and incrementing is value then the value becomes its intrinsic value.

487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Meme" coins are ruining everything on: March 28, 2024, 08:47:15 PM

its manipulation to the masses where memecoins attract regular people into crypto and that they are going to invest the very little they have into the market and when they see that their crypto wallet looks better like that meme above, they invite friends to invest in memecoins.

memes are convincing just like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTf5j9LDObk  Grin

488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins or Fiat? on: March 28, 2024, 08:18:58 PM

for someone who wants to stay long in crypto would rather put their money on stablecoin until the price is right to buy back. you'd be tempted to use the money to buy some stuff if you have it on fiat digital or cash, it already is meant for spending.

there is a time for staking your stablecoin by the way. when the bear market starts, staking usdt is a good time and then unstake the usdt when the price of BTC is right for buying.
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever happened to decentralized marketplaces? on: March 28, 2024, 07:57:40 PM

i tried opening the openbazaar, the page is just openbazaar 3.0 - openbazaar 3.0 - coming soon i once had this installed on my laptop. seem not getting enough support.

transaction fee is probably another factor that made it not very possible.  nothing forces people to use a decentralized marketplace i guess and the convenience of using fiat on e-commerce sites is getting easier too.  and then scammers will be populating the platform.
490  Economy / Economics / Re: How does one know and join the right community after a job loss? on: March 28, 2024, 07:46:15 PM
These are very tough questions. If you somewhat meet the right people you'll get back on your feet very quickly. These people are everywhere. They sit next to you in a bar, they go to the same artist's concert with you, you go to the same hairdresser with them. There are assholes around too but you need to be able to identify the right people very successfully. That's a social skill which you can learn. These people will be glad to help you out because they are rich and rich people are mostly chill.

Network mate. A person with a good friend network will never starve. It is all that matters in this age.

I have a friend who is a college dropout and he owns a software company if you can believe it. The best part is, he doesn't know how to code a single "hello world" app. He collects the orders from the customers and sends them to a 3rd party software company/group. He can do this because he knows many people, he can reach many people.

that's sort of a people skills. not everyone has that kind of skills.
and no everyone also found their trade. some people just work out of necessity, not really their expertise and if they are laying off then the problem will soon arise. In this situation, he'd rather be the 3rd party who knows how to code because these are the kinds of fields that is hard to be replaced.

for me, i would rather be selling some stuff and be a businessman. if i have to cook hotdogs and buns for the passersby, i'd do it.
491  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Goexme.io - the best cryptocurrency exchanger on: March 28, 2024, 04:31:12 PM
^ becuase they already have an ANN thread in here since 2018. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3324928.msg34734244#msg34734244

this might just be a good time to actually do it since p2p is the most needed by users from countries that banned the finance. but looking at this interface, the users may prefer other P2P exchanges. i can't see how we can send cash to a bank account or a fiat wallet.  probably needs to login to see these options.
492  Economy / Economics / Re: The benefits of risk taking on: March 28, 2024, 03:08:26 PM

every time you decide on something you risk something also. you and your wife decide to buy a house in the city, you are risking whether it's a good neighborhood to raise a child.
you decide to buy a house far from the city, you risk whether you can find a good job far from the city. every decision appends risks.

because you throw yourself into many possibilities, you gotta do your worst. this is why you need plan to achieve your goals.
493  Economy / Economics / Re: Early exposure of children to wealth and investments on: March 27, 2024, 08:29:38 PM

at least expose those kids to money and tell them this is how you make money or something like that because their fathers are their heroes. they will look at what parents are doing. kids look up to their parents and follow their steps.

you may not teach them for now how to invest but when they see you are in front of the computer and know that you are working, they will understand its how you make money.
494  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Tuloy Ang pag Ban Ng Binance Sa Pinas At Posibleng Dahilan. on: March 27, 2024, 06:02:06 PM

495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Ethereum's biggest competitor? on: March 27, 2024, 05:39:16 PM

by how much is been used in many tokens, BNB must be the closest competitor of ETH. its even more friendly and its fees are cheaper also. they use say ETH killers when there are projects related to smart contracts like SOL and ADA but they are not just that widely used by many developers. there are more projects even before BNB and SOL but none of them came close to ETH killer.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still buying altcoins?? on: March 27, 2024, 04:57:27 PM
Not really but i bought some altcoins recently cause after analysis, i found these are still lower than their solid value. But I don't support buying altcoins this time cause most i of the altcoins become expensive. Even today Bitcoin again pumped hardly and most of altcoins pumped. And now dumping. but this is not the dump, I'm looking for. Real market correction still needs time to happened but now buying is risky but market is suitable for trading and I'm doing DCA.

Most of the altcoin aren't yet expensive as gey haven't passed their all time high, many altcoins are still selling at a very low price and I think it's only Bitcoin that has passed its all time high. The altcoin that I think are expensive are the new altcoins that launched after the last market bull run. The reason they're getting too expensive is as they're getting too hyped and overpriced. I won't be buying those altcoins but for some of the old ones that haven't passed their all time high, I'll buy.

Real market correction will come but I don't think we should be very worried about the market dumping since soon we'll have the bull market that'll see alot of altcoins pump more than they have already pumped. For now what matters is investing the amount that we can afford to lose so that irregardless of how the market moves we'll be confident that we can keep holding until the market recovers.

that's just how it should be. it's still risky to go all in for altcoins when BTC price seems to be staying on top for a long time. traders are already speculating when the correction begins. they know when BTc dumps, the price of altcoins will also dump making its price more affordable for them.

this is probably what they are waiting for as well this is why less and less movement of price yet except BTC.

497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshi? hacker? who? on: March 27, 2024, 04:35:42 PM
So perhaps it's time we expanded upon that concept to say "not your coins, not your business".

Nice one.  I'm putting it to my personal text.

aww look at the cute couple. match made in heaven.. seems doomad has a new wife.. and im not shocked, they are too much alike
im not surprised at all that medusa is copying phrases of doomad..

anyways, the coins mentioned in this topic are not satoshi's stash. they are some other OG from the early adopter phase of bitcoin.
nothing really big news.. its not like its a major dump of 1m coins so wont affect the market.

they know it is not their business but it's a public information though so there are just people interested to learn who could this guy be that he kept his coins that long and waited for the time when the economy is unbearable. it looks like each wallet mined a block.

at that time, only a few people were interested in BTC, they were the ones who were more interested in innovations and liberation from the system.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: US Spot Ethereum ETF on: March 27, 2024, 04:21:05 PM
https://twitter.com/EleanorTerrett/status/1771188774606676164

"BlackRock’s Head of Digital Assets Robert Mitchnick addresses how the asset manager is thinking about other #crypto products:

“For our clients, Bitcoin is overwhelmingly the number one priority. And then a little bit ethereum, and very little everything else.”

He says the crypto community would like to see a long tail of other crypto products from BlackRock, but he says “that’s just not where we’re focused.”"

___
If the crypto community is asking .. then it will be Smiley

are they trying to prevent people from buying ETH? their investors would love ETH since staking ETH will make them more money. this has got to be more attractive to them than BTC.

it's not convincing that they are asking whether the crypto community will request it when they already filed a spot ETF. if they were not interested, they would have just ignored ETH but the fact that there are currently 8ETH ETFs to be approved means they are interested.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you ever be able to buy stocks in Web3 ? on: March 26, 2024, 07:57:01 PM
this is yet not possible unless BlackRock and a few more of them tokenize every stock in the market.
they did announce this to happen already so most probably if they do, we can buy stock but for now, even the altcoins can be considered a stock/share.

this is very timely because the stocks are crashing, the big investors are selling as they were announcing also. Thiel, Bezos and Zuckerberg are selling their tech stocks. this would be a good opportunity if we could just do it on the crypto exchanges today.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why you need to have spare USDT in this bullrun. on: March 26, 2024, 07:27:56 PM
I usually do ZSD on the side after taking profits. I only go to USDT when I really need to. Can't let Uncle Sam know that I made $$$ off of crypto.

once you cash out and your wallet is identified by one exchange then it's no use hiding from your Uncle. surrender and pledge your soul.  Roll Eyes
any activity can't escape the eyes of Sauron.

USDT is still useful when you are trading all the time and you will trade because it's always profitable when you see the price is already about to dive, you will not forgive yourself when you resist converting to usdt.

I don't use exchanges that require any info & only cash out in privacy coins (ZSD, Zephyr, XMR). That's why my Uncle hates them because it makes me invisible & precious. Tether is extremely useful when swapping around inside an exchange. Especially when a coin hits an ATH and I want to sit on the sidelines to see if it drops so I can buy back in.

how is the money sent to you?
p2p as far as i know makes you visible to them when the funds are sent to your bank account. i'm curious to know how if i have some usdt on the exchange and i don't wanna use the exchange p2p, how do i do it?

my country supports fiat wallets but this also can be linked to crypto exchanges where we sell these coins. and the part where we can't escape doing this is that exchanges are soon going to be banned.
