501  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transaction is pending because fee was too low, now what on: December 23, 2023, 06:19:34 PM
I am still sceptical of this blue wallet. I downloaded the Blue Wallet app on my Android phone, but it keeps crashing. On several occasions, I opened the wallet and imported my keys and after  doing that, it is expected that it would remain there, imported as already done but the reverse is always the case as I keep importing and in some instances, the app does not open.
There isn't anything inherently wrong with Bluewallet, it is a very good, open source Bitcoin wallet and i suspect the problem you are having stems from your device. If it was a general problem, we would have seen so many people complaining about the same thing, thus i think the reason why the application crashes is a problem from your device.
I think the developer needs to look into it for an update or phone compartibility because my gadget is a sophisticated one
Bluewallet is already compatible with mobile devices (both Android and IOS). BTW, what device are you using? Maybe you can try downloading Bluewallet on a different device to see if the same thing happens.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: December 22, 2023, 08:50:40 PM
It will be fun to know if this will be the last real Champions league or not.

Fotball has changed yesterday.
The CL group stage format has been changed and will take effect from the 2024/2025 season, if that is what you are talking about. However, if you are talking about the Super League and the European court of justice's ruling yesterday, then nothing is going to change because most of the big clubs have already released statements rejecting the Super League and that they would continue only with the CL. If all the big clubs that were initially keep on the Super League back in 2021 were still interested in the competition, then there might have been a change in European football, but for now i think everything would remain the same way.
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether: We've onboarded FBI, Secret Service to our platform on: December 22, 2023, 07:53:19 PM
yeah at least if you store your us dollars underneath your mattress you can use them to buy food at the grocery store or gas for the car. having it frozen in tether would make it worthless.
I second that, and if you have your money in your bank account, it is insured up to a certain amount, thus even if the bank fails, you're definitely not going to lose everything. I can't say that for your USDT, if anything goes wrong with the issuing company (and it can, with all the manipulation going on), everything you have in USDT becomes worthless and lost.
they might not be able to centralize bitcoin directly but their goal is to get rid of all ways people in the usa can buy bitcoin except maybe through a few centralized exchanges which would report on them to the IRS. they want to cut off americans from doing any type of business outside of the boarders.
Cryptocurrency regulation in the United States is going to a whole new level, they want to be able to monitor everything that their citizens do with cryptocurrencies, they want to eliminate every sort of privacy people get when they use Bitcoin. If things continue in this way, the future does not look so good for people who want to use Bitcoin privately.
504  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin accepted in central African republic; which way Nigeria? on: December 21, 2023, 10:09:31 PM
This thing na old news na, you no see the date for wherever you been see this information. After El Salvador been make Bitcoin legal tender for their country, Central African Republic been join dem too, come make am legal tender for their own country.  But just as @sokani been talk, e no tay after CAR make Bitcoin legel tender, dem come change their mind again, so as we dey discuss this right now, Bitcoin no be legal tender for CAR, dem don rescind that law already. For all the countries wey dey the whole world, na only El Salvador wey make Bitcoin legal tender, so no dey talk like say Naija dey do anything wrong as regards this case so.
505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 21, 2023, 08:47:55 PM
But in the Liverpool vs Arsenal match, I predict Arsenal will win. because Arsenal will take advantage of Liverpool's unstable (weak) midfield.
Are you kidding me, or are you talking about Liverpool's midfield of last season, because i think they have a great midfield this season, Alexis Mac Allister and Szoboszlai have brought a much needed strength to Liverpool's midfield, they have both been great signings for the club. Endo is not has good as the both of them and he has not started off as good as them, but he is also holding his own, Jurgen Klopp has also played Trent in midfield, but he usually does it during games, by bringing in Gomez and pushing Trent into midfield, thus i don't think they have too many problems in that position.

Liverpool v Arsenal is difficult to predict, but i don't think Liverpool would lose because the game is at Anfield, my prediction is that Liverpool would either win or draw the game, Arsenal are not going to win it.
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: December 21, 2023, 08:33:20 AM
I think there's no need to discuss about Barcelona vs Napoli and Arsenal vs FC Porto, it's a sure win for both Barcelona and Arsenal, Napoli and FC Porto aren't that good compared to last season.
Barcelona have also been inconsistent this season, especially in the LaLiga, but mind you that every match in the CL RO16 is going to be tough, i understand that some teams are underdogs when you compare them to their oppositions, but in the two games you highlighted above, neither of those teans are underdogs, it is going to be a 50-50 game that anybody can win. Barcelona and Arsenal are very much beatable, and it would be a mistake to write off Napoli and Porto.
507  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects those who DCA on: December 20, 2023, 10:48:10 PM
in the end everything will be fine and those who panic too much about fees that are too high certainly don't have a strong stance to stay with Bitcoin. if the costs get higher I just stop and observe until the costs return to normal. DCA certainly doesn't have to always be on time, also looking at the condition of the Bitcoin network. if it's too expensive then collect it and buy it when it gets better.
This is not about a strong or weak stance in the Bitcoin network, it is basically a fact that Bitcoin transaction fees is so high right now that it is making Bitcoin practically unusable. Nobody is panicking because of fees, people are just complaining or stating how much they have to pay in fees to send Bitcoins to someone or to use it for some other purpose. Whilst some people can wait for when the fees would drop, not everybody has such privilege, some want to move money quickly or convert to fiat for something important. I know there's prolly nothing you or i can do to rectify this, but i wouldn't slag off people who are moaning about it.
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: December 20, 2023, 10:18:04 PM
I'm not very comfortable with Barcelona about their draw honestly. Napoli are going to be a really big challenge for them.
Absolutely; it is a 50-50 game because there are no favorites in this match and it can go anyway. Barcelona finished top of their group, so they would be gutted to have drawn a strong opposition in Napoli, but good thing for them is that they get to play the second leg at home. Xavi was unsuccessful in taking his team out of the CL group stages last season, but now they have broken that barrier and they can take that as a success; now the goal is to take it a step further. I know there is currently no chance of Barca winning the CL this season, but if they can make it to the QF, then it is a step forward for the club considering their present situation.
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether: We've onboarded FBI, Secret Service to our platform on: December 20, 2023, 10:00:12 PM
If wallets can be blocked arbitrarily, anyone using Tether need to watch their back
Exactly, especially people who are hodling Tether for a long period of time, it is such a risky thing to do. I understand that traders use it when necessary, but nobody should be hodling a coin that can be frozen even in their own wallet.
Now I doubt they will do this with btc.
Tether is centralized, Bitcoin is decentralized, there is no central authority that can oversee or implement something like this in the Bitcoin network, so it is not possible.
510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 20, 2023, 07:32:28 PM
Meanwhile for Manchester City, it looks like they have to make several changes in order to restore their true performance this season.
City are going through a sticky patch right now, but they are definitely going to be in the title race. I think City are missing out on a bit of creativity, and it is goodnews that KDB has started training again, i know it will take sometime before he is ready to start playing again, but that would happen pretty soon, prolly sometime next month.

Having said that, i don't think Arsenal are going to win the league this season, if City fails in the defense of their title, i think it would be Liverpool who would usurp them. I know Arsenal are getting closer to winning it, but i don't think it'd happen this season.
511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether Confirms Extensive Collaboration With DOJ, FBI and Secret Service on: December 20, 2023, 06:58:19 PM
I kind of hate to say this but as a price stable cryptocurrency the reason why we have many people still making use of Tether USDT despite it been centralized is by virtue of it's custodian trust the users have on it when compared to other pegged cryptocurrency (decentralized or centralized) and being pegged to the US dollar a fiat currency that is strong in strength to other fiats and serving as reserve currency of many countries globally.
Tether might claim that every issued USDT coin is backed 1:1 to the U.S. dollar, but the thing is, how true can that be; that is the big risk with stable coins, after the possibility of them being frozen in your own wallet. The companies that issue these coins can print so many of them basically out of thin air, not backed by anything, is there a way to prove for a fact that Tether has reserves to cover all circulating USDT coins. If you are hodling USDT because you believe what their issuing company says, then you have to think again on the risk you are undertaking.
512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether Confirms Extensive Collaboration With DOJ, FBI and Secret Service on: December 20, 2023, 11:04:16 AM
That's a total disaster and against the number one feature of crypto and that's decentralization.
It is not every cryptocurrency that is decentralized, so many of us believe that Bitcoin is the only true decentralized cryptocurrency. USDT is a centralized stable coin issued by the company Tether, it is not decentralized.
I know that Tether is somehow tied to US Dollar but it's still  crypto and shouldn't be controlled or regulated by anyone, especially not the government. Well then let's see what comes out of this alliance.
USDT is pegged to the dollar, and it is controlled by the issuing company, it is a centralized coin and if you use it you have to understand that this was always possible, the only thing is that they are now in full cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 19, 2023, 10:28:37 PM
It’s time for them to work with the players they have, it’s clear pissing money up the wall without a plan has not served them well. Pochettino needs to earn his corn.
Todd Boehly prolly doesn't understand these things, he basically thinks all he has to do is spend money and then Chelsea become automatically successful, the investments that the club has made in the last three transfer windows have been massive, but despite that Chelsea are still struggling so much and they are 10th position in the EPL table.

I don't know if Pochettino can take Chelsea out of this situation, but the club can at least let him try. Pochettino needs to have a stronger influence in the dressing room, he also has to identify the players he needs if they are going to spend in January, when a manager selects a player he wants, it is because they see that the player can help his team play in the way he wants. Poch needs more freedom and Todd should give him space.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: December 19, 2023, 08:28:25 PM
Things may change once Manchester City gets all its injured players back. De Bruyne and Haaland are likely to return in January or soon, as is Doku. When Manchester City displays its best squad, it will be difficult for any team to stop it in the Premier League or Champions League.
It is impossible to write off City in any competition, they are the best team in the world and even though they are not having their best moment now, you would not expect it to last long and City are going to bounce back sooner rather than later. City are missing a couple of players, especially KDB, i think City have missed him more than they thought they will, i know Julian Alvarez has played in the KDB role since the Belgian got injured, but he is not close to being as creative as KDB. When KDB returns, as well as the other players who are missing, Pep would have a complete team and can play in the best way he wants to.
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 19, 2023, 12:31:53 PM
Chelsea is in the state that I described above. We saw it when they drew with Manchester city 4 : 4, the celebrated like they won and their subsequent matches were disaster. Last week, Manchester United drew with Liverpool and celebrated as if they won the league. Something is wrong.
United were obviously the happier of the two teams, Liverpool dominated the game and they felt unhappy that they couldn't get the three points. I know that United is a big team and you don't expect them to be parking the bus, but what do you expect from Ten Hag, if he came into that game with the mind to attack, they would have lost heavily. He gave Liverpool all the respect in the world, sat back and got a point for all his troubles, and though they were happy, they weren't celebrating the way you put it.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether Confirms Extensive Collaboration With DOJ, FBI and Secret Service on: December 19, 2023, 12:16:06 PM
Just a quick reminder for those making use of Tether for large transactions. Just so you know, there is nothing much different between it and using normal fiat, as your funds can be frozen and you can't do anything. The blacklisting mapping gives them access to freeze the funds of anyone whom they think is not worthy of whatever they are holding in that wallet.
It has always been possible for stable coin issuers to freeze your coins, now quite a lot of people think this can only happen when your stable coin is held in a centralized exchange, but mind you that your stable coins can be frozen even if your own wallet.

Tether collaborating with the DOJ, secret service and the FBI should not come as a surprise to anyone, they are a centralized service and centralized services cooperate with law enforcement, they have also never presented themselves as a privacy coin or anything of that sort, thus it is up to users to decide what they want for themselves.
517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do NOT overpay your transaction fees. on: December 19, 2023, 11:47:48 AM
it's very rare to see people behaving like this, I mean Bitcoin wasn't released yesterday, it's not new anymore to know that you need to wait to get your transaction in a block, why would anyone rush anyway? As I was reading through OP I detect that this could be the case, some is indeed trying to do fast transaction because they are robbing people.
There are quite a lot of things that some people who use Bitcoin do not know about the network, some people erroneously believe that Bitcoin transactions are instant, and they do not even know the average time between blocks. There is no way to be certain this was a bot, but even if we agree that it was, the person behind it should know that what they were doing is useless, because their transaction would have still been included in the next block, and constantly increasing the fees didn't help to speed things up.
Before anyone argues about volume of transactions being low on those alts, they should check Tether first.
Mind you that people hodl and use Bitcoin for a couple of reasons, such as decentralization, security and also to have full custody of their assets. Do you want to hodl tether that is centralized, can lose its peg or be frozen in any wallet you store it. I understand if you want to use it solely for payments when you want to, but hodling it means you are putting your trust in the issuers.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: December 18, 2023, 09:22:06 PM
Every game will be boring. Inter Milan vs Atletico is probably the best draw this round.
You cannot say every game will be boring, this is the CL RO16 and the unexpected can happen, the teams that people have written off might cause some upsets and make the game tougher and more difficult for the bigger teams. Every match in the CL is tough, especially in the knockout stages. Of course the QF would be more interesting, but i feel there is going to be at least one upset in this RO16 stage, and i am looking forward to all the games.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 18, 2023, 08:29:41 PM
Liverpool didn't expect their match with Manchester United at Anfield would end as a draw match because of Manchester United's low performance this season, and they won Manchester United heavily last season at Anfield.
Manchester United knew that if they came out to attack in that game they were going to lose, thus Ten Hag had to respect Liverpool and set up to defend for most of the game. It was not a bad result for both sides, but Liverpool would be the more disappointing of the two teams, United would be happy with the one point.

Arsenal are back on the summit, five points above the defending champions Manchester City; both Liverpool and Arsenal would know that they cannot write City off and if they want to have a chance of winning the league, they have to pull clear of the City now that they are wobbling. City are still very much in the title race and they remain my favorite candidate for the EPL title.
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Secure your crypto wealth by not having it all in crypto on: December 18, 2023, 06:19:02 PM
Beside a wallet a person should also select different coin because if one can get shorter in worth then whole money will not be unprotected but you will have surely another source of coin to get the reward and return your loss amount.
I don't think diversifying your money into different cryptocurrencies is actually a good idea, cryptocurrencies are intrinsically connected and they move together, when Bitcoin rises, altcoins rise too, and when it falls, they fall. Thus if you wanna diversify, the smartest thing to do is to buy Bitcoin and different assets, like gold, or you could prolly start a business, buying too many cryptocurrencies isn't really diversification imo.
