We all could do this right NOW  Wink

you seem like a kindhearted person  Smiley. We need guys like you in NEM. I think we can only do charity once we have a functional currency. For now best we can do is spread awareness of NEM and think of ideas to make NEM a viable form of currency.

I have a plan for charity (could be fun) when we make the development contract announcement. So start to think of your best charity.

A member called j23a in bitcointalk has a great idea. A recent scamcoin called stack coin stole 69 btc from a lot of people.

He wants to know if its possible to give them 1 stake. 1 stake divided by the total number of victims. I asked him to pm his idea to UP. one stake is not a lot and it would be a very classy gesture by our community. what do you guys think?

Can someone make a list of people ? or make something like this http://www.humint.is/goxcoin
544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] Public auditing of stakeholder list on: March 11, 2014, 01:55:59 PM
The auditing period is over and thanks everyone for contributing. Now I temporarily close the refunding list so that me, Patmast3r and Kooream can work on building a complete refunding list based on these input. We will publish a complete list after we are done.

Announcement

We are forming NEM logo+branding resource committee of five people (or seven if there are a lot of qualified people wanting to join). Our job will be narrowing down the NEM logo, branding resources to a reasonable selection so that a final vote can be made by the community. We will also be actively seeking for best designers and ask them to submit their works for NEM logo+ branding resource selection.

Two initial members of the committee are UtopianFuture and patmast3r and we are asking you to join in the committee if you feel you have eyes for a good logo and NEM branding resources and want to contribute. Send a pm to me or patmast3r if you are interested in joining. Being in the committee does not exclude your works to be considered for NEM logo.

We will announce all members of the committee later on and we will work by consensus to bring a final selection of NEM logo to the community for a vote before our official launch.

Hi everyone,
i'm an industrial engineer from italy.
I'm fascinated by the idea and the possibilities of decentralized currencies, especially, the fair distribution idea of NEM.

I want to be add to waiting list, but I don't understand very well how this waiting list works. Where can i find some info? For example, i which position of the list i will be? and how many NEM i could hope to have?
There is no way to buy them?

Thanks!

Hi after public auditing, I will ask people in waiting list if they still want to join in. I don't have the number yet, but it is estimated to have at least 100-150 slots available for waiting list so you should be covered. Give us one more week to work out other things.
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] InsanityCoin - coin for investors and traders on: March 09, 2014, 04:14:30 PM
do tell us, how?

The price will fall every week until everyone running and screaming to sell in week 9. (I mean the average price selling price every Sunday)

I agree with your theory if the coin does not sell out completely. If the entire WOLF supply sells out before week 9 then we will see a huge rise in price. Especially if a good plan is laid out from week 10 on...

I mis-read the rules. I thought all coins will be destroyed after the games are over (week 9). But if Insanitydeveloper continues to support the coins afterward, then the coin is probably be fine.
548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: March 09, 2014, 03:01:41 PM

Ok, so no added bloat but also no added security or what ever to the mainchain? There is no interaction between the main and the parallel chains, it seems (besides this little AM / period)?

Dumb question: What is the difference between NEM and these parallel chains (besides these little AMs)?

Architectural design. NXT parallel chains are dependent on NXT's core design. NEM has a different design. That's what "written from the scratch" means.

551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Thread: Main on: March 09, 2014, 01:25:13 PM
I think NEM will be successfull
That's possible.

because of the large number of account holder. Nxt has around 200 people in the core community. If 10% is doing something for Nxt, thatīs 20 people. If NEM has the tenfold of investors, they have more people to build things around NEM...
We'll see. There's no qualitative difference between Nxt and NEM distribution. Only difference in quantity. And my point is: there can't be qualitative difference at all. Any imaginable distribution'd be unfair in some point of view. It'd not be goal and distribution just don't worth the attention.

Dynamics still mean something though: dynamics of distribution of limited resource always'll be better than dynamics of distribution of unlimited resource (unlimited for someone, some group or for everyone). For example, US Dollar unlimited for some well-known guys  Wink

Thatīs why we would need the price of Nxt to go up, because that would draw in more investors. The stable price in this phase of Nxt is not a benefit.
Disagree. Price'd not be in attention zone neither. Market'll decide, regular high volumes'll stabilze. Only speculators'd care about the price.

For those who want Nxt to grow bigger (in aspects of adoption, amount of good code, volumes. liquidity and so on) right now and still've free time I've two words: become doers  Wink

I tend to agree with ZeroTheGreat here. The problem with NXT is not about distribution. The real problem is the wrong incentive alignment. No one complains when Sergey and Larry control 50% of Google but when some 10million+ NXT stakeholder do really nothing people will complain and worse they will stop contributing.  BTW I don't think it is a dooming factor but some people do have to work extra hard to make up for these issues.

Hello everybody,
I'm a professional photographer and journalist from Germany and I'm fascinated by the idea and the possibilities of decentralized currencies.
I like the fair distribution idea of NEM. Good spirit! I would like to be added to the waiting list. Thanks.

Best regards

Hi i may want to use some of your photographs in our website. Pm.
553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] Public auditing of stakeholder list on: March 07, 2014, 02:39:05 AM
Was it allowed that from one NXT account was sent to NEM 2 times and both transactions
were used by 2 different BTT accounts?

After adding account information to the sheets, there could be checked duplicate accounts:
30 - 40 pairs having the same NXT accounts ...

Yes. that was allowed. Don't be alarmed that the refunding list was not updated. I will look at all the auditing works after the auditing period is over on Saturday and make necessary updates to the list. Initially the plan is to update the list everyday, but it is just too time-consuming for me to do so. I will try to complete the list on Sunday and then publish it.

The way it works is that accounts in the refunding list are supposed to get refunded but there will be a 1 week period for appealing or correcting mistakes. Accounts appearing in the list should appeal for themselves. Do explain why it is a mistake to include your account in the refunding list and if it makes sense I will be more than happy to put you back in.

To all the auditors: thank you all for your hard works.

Does any of NEM stakeholders want to run an exchange ? (and have some experiences doing so). I know Tristan (Busoni) of Poloniex,  is one of our early stakeholder, Gravitons is as well but how about we are making a fresh one ?

+1 for making another exchange
I would not limit to one exchange only from beginning as this could result in monopoly and high fees
is better to have few exchanges from the start or if this is not the case then
it would be better to have one run by the community and not by a single entity
because it could jeopardize the NEM widespread adoption.

Some of us have been in discussion for sometimes. We could run it as a collective.
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: March 05, 2014, 01:47:50 PM
Somehow UtopianFuture has managed to find some great people. I think he will announce some plans when it is time for purposing some NEM for charitable work.

That being said, just throwing money around is not going to change the world. Efforts should be directed in a way that will have a specific impact, which is why I am suggesting a NEM cooperative where people can use NEM and the asset exchange in daily life.

I agree. Targeted giveaways/ distribution needs to be innovative but also practical. Doing charity on behalf of NEM is a good thing in itself but it should be only one part of NEM overall promotional strategy.

I fully understand that there is an uproar because of the "fraudsters" who try to buy 20+ stakes.

But as is clearly shown in DaFockBro's posts and for anyone to read in the various threads, it was allowed to have multiple buy-ins. No need to explain those buy-ins: it was allowed.

The problem is: how many stakes is considered to many?

I think it is best for Utopianfuture to make a FINAL STATEMENT about who is at risk (hard numbers, no deviation). Regarding the quotes by DaFockBro, I think it should be anyone with 5-6+ stakes and that the surplus should be refunded (if possible).

Oh and should you wonder: I registered for two stakes (Mikesbmw and Flepper).

Please keep it sane people.

We focus on groups of related accounts with more than 5 stakes with most accounts belonging to group 3 activity. It has been discussed in the main thread before, our effort would be more well spent that way. It is also probably best compromise. Surplus over 5 stakes will be refunded.

About the size of bounties, it is set to be consistent with other type of rewards for different development activities such as helping with fundraising, websites, swarm team, wiki, tester, bug finding, coding etc. To be honest, it makes no sense to me if some of you trying to hunt people with more shares down so that you can personally increase your own shares. If you make an effort to find multi-accounts, do it because you care about NEM's fundraising egalitarian principle. If you find it not worth doing, then don't.

Public auditing is necessary part of the process to create trust and transparency for NEM. It will be done even without finding any sockpuppet. Similarly, population statistics will be done in any case. All are part of the package.

I saw this Dilbert comic today and had to look-up holacracy. It sounds similar to how NEM might be organized.

I tried to stake my claim in thread 2, page 10.
I tweeted about NEM, but was never verified.
My name is not in the new stakeholder list, and the instructions there said to come here and complain about it, so here I am.
Please add me to the stakeholder list.

I checked your post but I did not see your tweet about NEM as well as any clickable link. Was that the reason you are not in ?

Your post is here:

"
Tweeted about the coin: twitter.com/pontifier
also made a bitly link: http://[Suspicious link removed]/1fHa2w8

sounds interesting. Check out Humizen.com
A better way to distribute coins can only help their usage.
"

So here is a clickable version of the twitter url. https://twitter.com/pontifier
You can see the tweet on jan 31, and the link in the tweet points at the registration thread.

Okay. I added you in. Support NEM. Thanks.
