It sounded like you thought bounty managers that hire alts should be actively punished while higher paying sig campaign managers should look the other way when it comes to rulebreakers, but you've since clarified that's not what you believe. I think that's why I found some of your input to be problematic, LOL. First time I've ever used that word.

DS hardly has a history of hiring spammers and/or providing poor quality advertisement to projects he represents, would you agree?

Even with the best some slip through the cracks, and the one who slipped through the cracks here was impressively talented..

I do feel like I'm missing out on a nice big fat government paycheck though Tongue

Exactly what I’d expect an agent to say Wink

If you want to get into that subject, you are near the top of the list of users here I suspect of directly being government agents of some sort Wink

But I like you anyway Smiley

Same principle..
Anyone could be a scammer..
Anyone could be an agent..
The only person responsible for protecting your ass is YOU..

Too many snips I’d like to reply to..

I think the lesson to be drawn from this is that decentralized and anonymous systems will never really be able to implement even a semblance of fair business practices. There will always be the need for a way to track participant actions that affect the business. While this forum and bitcoiners proselytize about the benefits of "decentralization", they accept wrongdoing, fraud and plain corruption as "sleight of hand". We all accept this "He did it because he could, lets forget about it" mentality over such things. This is one of the biggest hurdles for the concept of decentralization to truly become useful. Because if you are going to be vulnerable to the same scheming and collusion, why really bother to change the present system. Lets just keep morals, ethics aside and everybody go mooooooon.

It’s absolutely 100% fair free market anarchy..
Every one of us had the same opportunity to enroll 3 or even 10 alts into CM just as he did..
Yeah he broke the rules, but he got away with it, and made a killing..

In a decentralized world you have to think of what is possible without bounds of morality, and expect whatever to happen accordingly..
Keep your eyes out for scammers and others to take advantage of every and any opportunity..

Does it make any of you that never got into the CM campaign angry that he was 3X a better poster than you? Lol..
Because that’s basically what it boils down to..

+100 for malevolent
Gonna check and make sure he is on my inclusions list.. He gets it.. (yep)

This is crypto.. Stop thinking in a world of rules and control and start thinking in a world where all possibilities and opportunities will be taken advantage of by someone, and protect yourself accordingly..

Just think.. In all likelihood CM is an NSA honeypot anyway, lol..
Could be..

I absolutely don't condone deception, but as far as scamming and defrauding goes, this is all very tame by bitcointalk or cryptocurrency-sphere standards.

It doesn't at all compare to, for example, cheating at no-fee raffles, and the main reason people are so angry is because of the amount of money involved.

This 100%

And NO nutildah I’m not saying that it’s perfectly OK that he broke the campaign rules.. It is an untrustworthy action surely..
But quite “tame”, and not as bad as the cheating the giveaways actions..

People are pissy because it’s chipmixer..
They think the world should be “fair” or something..
546  Economy / Reputation / Re: Long-time sig campaign farm ID'd via single wallet transaction on: February 02, 2021, 10:26:40 PM
I was directly asked for my opinion on this thread by another DT1 member, so I gave it..

So your opinion is that breaking the rules isn't really breaking the rules so long as you perceive ChipMixer still benefits from the poster wearing their signature? Otherwise, I don't understand what it is you are saying. He clearly broke a rule, and you're saying it's not "cheating." Why do you want to give this person a pass?

What do you mean give him a pass?
The dude just lost probably the biggest group of valuable accounts and income stream at once I have ever seen, lol..

I just think it’s morally worse to have ripped off the giveaways than to have worked chipmixer so hard..
It’s just more sensational because it’s chipmixer...
547  Economy / Reputation / Re: Long-time sig campaign farm ID'd via single wallet transaction on: February 02, 2021, 09:36:15 PM
I don't understand the point of arguing against this concept except for the sake of intellectual exercise; nor do I see a benefit in making assumptions about DarkStar's job, as he has more experience in the occupation than any of us. But to each their own.

I was directly asked for my opinion on this thread by another DT1 member, so I gave it..
Just stated my thought process on the situation..

Me and DS are fine..
BTW @DS I’ve been out of town for work for the last 5 weeks straight or so and haven’t gotten around to any of that stuff we were talking about yet.. Sorry..
548  Economy / Reputation / Re: Long-time sig campaign farm ID'd via single wallet transaction on: February 02, 2021, 06:13:41 PM
He broke the rules of the cm campaign and has done some untrustworthy shit including entering multiple alts in contests..

But.. Do you think that cm didn’t get the quality advertising they paid for because of this?
I think they still probably did, and it wouldn’t be a problem other than their specific rule to not allow alt accounts..
He is obviously a high quality poster to have achieved what he has..

I think 7 red tags might be a bit heavy but it’s whatever..

Do you guys hope he stops posting on all of his accounts and goes away forever, or do you think he is still a somewhat valuable member of the community even though he gamed the system to make more coin?

Would an admission and apology from him help any?
Where do you think he really stands now?

I personally don’t think bending the rules of a signature campaign is all that big of a deal..
I think entering multiple alts in a free contest is much more “cheating” than breaking a sig campaign rule..
In fact I’m not even sure “cheating” the campaign is the correct word to use if he did in fact create all of that quality content and therefore quality advertising which probably had zero effect on the value of advertising he was paid to provide..

I’m failing to see any financial damage done to cm or anyone over the campaign part..
My problem lies more in the contests..

Also wonder if mods knew this by IP the entire time and kept their mouths shut..
549  Economy / Reputation / Re: Broken Trust System on: January 31, 2021, 06:23:33 PM
I didn’t give dragons a positive or an inclusion for a long time, and after much personal conversation, and did it because I like his principles and idealism..

“Unconfinscatable”
I even actually bought one of those hats irl..
That’s exactly why I’m in crypto..
550  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty Scammers, Why Do We Care? on: January 31, 2021, 06:20:47 PM
I’m more interested in other areas of concern, like the forums leadership and idealistic direction, rather than $2 spammers/scammers..

As far as spam I’m much more inclined to lay the blame much higher up the chain, to wherever the money is coming from, rather than the end product of $2 spammers.. I see very little point in going after easily replaceable spammer accounts.. It’s just treating the symptoms while ignoring the underlying cause, while leading to heavy regulation of the individual little guy and uncountable applications of power..

And then that leads to OVERAPPLICATION of power in “this COULD be a scam” situations, which I dislike very much..
Sold accounts are so terrible because they “could” scam?
Shit, +15 DT trusted relatively new accounts on DT1 without a single Satoshi risked “could” scam..

Actually, its really just helping the source of the problem by doing their jobs for them.. let them fork out all sorts of money for worthless offsite spam and laugh at them.. Maybe they will learn to pay for better quality..
Lol at them if they are paying 5 guys/Alts for the same Twitter post that only other Twitter spammers will see.. Their is no value in that and whoever is paying for that/managing should be fired..
I also couldn’t care less how much Twitter and Facebook or whatever get spammed.. It’s funny to me..

Seems not many are willing to get into confrontations with where the money is coming from.. For reasons..

Also, I don’t have much time on my hands these days..
551  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty Scammers, Why Do We Care? on: January 29, 2021, 06:36:53 PM
All completely altruistic eh?

My goodness, look at the backscratching/circle jerk of positive trust ratings from one “scam buster”/“cheater catcher” to another, probably merits and inclusions too..
Vigilante cartel lol..

+5 - +10 - +15 and shit without a single trade, DT1, merits up the ass..
2-3 year old accounts straight to the top..

Wonder how many HODL even 1 coin or have any anarchistic principles..
552  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty Scammers, Why Do We Care? on: January 29, 2021, 03:58:49 PM
Should be putting a neutral on the project representatives, ANN posters, and managers..
“Bounties full of alt accounts, poor advertising practices” -warn investors..
“Manager repeatedly hires multiple alt accounts” - warn projects of poor managers..

Make the project and managers feel some pain over it..

For all we know the managers accounts and project rep accounts are all alts too..
553  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty Scammers, Why Do We Care? on: January 29, 2021, 12:20:59 AM
Starting with there are a lots of people putting in a lot of hard work tracking down the 100s of bounty scammers out there.
lovesmayfamilis, YOSHIE, and all the others are putting in hours of work tracking these people down.

Now...why do we as a group care?
Looking at the "quality" of the work that most of these scammers put out if the bounty managers want to pay for that crap then let them pay.
It's hurting the projects, but the better projects will want better posts / tweets / etc.
The crap is well...crap, let them use crap posters, who give them crap and then they can pay with their crap tokens. Let them all play in their piles of crap.

Or am I just that burn out and tired of dealing the with the 1 list shit posts around here.

-Dave

*Full disclosure if you are reading this some time in the future, I am wearing a paid sig with I post this, but I like to think I'm not posting crap....

I agree a lot..

Sometimes I wonder if these campaign managers, especially the more reputable ones, give these cheater hunters nice BTC tips for “helping” them..
They darn well should IMO..
554  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 25, 2021, 01:31:50 AM

Maybe we will be like that when bitcoin goes to $100,000? Total ass holes with no respect for anybody?

Haha!

... it's a matter of opinion but some would say that many of you already went that way around the $20k level.

... this "have fun staying poor" meme is an arrogant dick kind of thing to say too. Some people can be rich without a cent ... or a satoshi.

I don't think any WOer will reach the level of dick to use this meme/expression irl. Here on the interwebs yes many use it... but to use it irl you need to be a special kind of asshole...  Grin

I do..
To those who choose to stay hood rats instead of try.. But think they are “cool” somehow..
Screw em..
555  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 24, 2021, 03:47:20 PM
Just read up on this “double spend” nonsense..

Like really? Idiots that don’t understand Bitcoin caused all that fuss over some dust?
Shouldn’t bitmex know better? Think they did that on purpose to short and fud?

Not even close to a double spend, or even anything interestingly tricky..
556  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden says transexuals can pick whatever sex they want to be. on: January 23, 2021, 11:44:14 PM
For pro sports, I've long thought that they should split it into several divisions depending on your levels of certain hormones, similar to how fighting sports have weight divisions. Natural hormone levels are a huge determining factor in sports even among people of the same birth sex. Maybe they should even allow people to supplement hormones to bring them up to some standard levels for the division. The vast majority of people are basically excluded at birth from ever competing in eg. the Olympics because no matter how high their personal drive/spirit, they just don't have good enough body chemistry, and is that really fair?

If I was in charge of a school and I was required to preserve exactly two divisions for men and women respectively, I'd probably allow transgender athletes to compete where they want, since it's a school, not a pro sports league, and the risk/cost of emotionally harming a transgender student through ostracism seems higher than the risk of a transgender student intentionally cheating the system and completely ruining everyone else's fun. Owners of schools/leagues/property should have the right to set their own policies, though, including dividing it purely along birth-sex lines if they wish. No need for a one-size-fits-all policy, and I oppose government restrictions on private property owners.

Or..
They could be simply recommended mental health counseling..
557  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ‘We really are the cucks': QAnon adrift after Trump ‘fails to ascend as God Empe on: January 23, 2021, 06:27:09 PM
If I’m supposed to be tolerant of people wanting to be trannies and/or flaming queers, then why shouldn’t people be tolerant of me not wanting to be around trannies and flaming queers??

I hear it said a lot that if you wouldn’t date a trans “woman” then you are a bigot..
Lmao ok I’m a “bigot” and don’t really care what you think..

Getting a bit ot..
558  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ‘We really are the cucks': QAnon adrift after Trump ‘fails to ascend as God Empe on: January 23, 2021, 02:27:47 PM
I’ll admit that I believe a lot of the Q related conspiratorial beliefs have a lot of truth in them.. It has done a lot to redpill many people..

If everything Q said was a lie (which it was -- not a single one of his predictions came true),

Neh..
For example, Q was all over the Epstein thing before he was even arrested and made news..

I was never a close Q follower and became mostly uninterested after many of the early “predictions” didn’t happen, but he did bring attention to a lot of interesting facts is all I’m saying..
559  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ‘We really are the cucks': QAnon adrift after Trump ‘fails to ascend as God Empe on: January 22, 2021, 04:04:51 PM
It's easy to be cynical and say that these QAnon people are stupid and/or evil to the core and will just fall for some other con, but I think (and hope) that at least a lot of them actually will wake up to the fact that they've been conned, and they'll be better people for it. If you ever interact with these people, please be kind to them. If you treat them as untouchables, then that will just further entrench them in their beliefs.

I disagree, theymos. We tried being understanding already and that clearly didn't work. These people absolutely deserve to be stared at and ridiculed like the dumbasses they are, everywhere they go. Pretending there is anything moderately reasonable about their belief system would be a travesty as it normalizes their bullshit behavior.

Trump's election was a symptom of underlying problems that need to be addressed; mainly wealth inequality is rising at ever-increasing rates, and life is getting harder for the average U.S. citizen despite the fact that this is the wealthiest nation in the history of the planet... and this has a side effect of making people more mentally or emotionally susceptible to believing in whackjob conspiracies because it gives them an enemy to fight against, however invisible or fictional it may be.

But rather than working together to actually attempt to change the system, we fight among ourselves, ignoring the actual problems, to me the biggest of which is lobbyists and corporate influence in politics. It's a cross-aisle problem... let's start with fixing that before we try to tackle the imaginary satanist pedophile rings mmmmkay? Is that too much to ask going forward?

Here's an instruction guide for how to handle QAnoners who won't give up:

You aren’t by chance an accelerationist are you?

I’ll admit that I believe a lot of the Q related conspiratorial beliefs have a lot of truth in them.. It has done a lot to redpill many people..

It’s also a damn shame what has happened to Trump..
I absolutely believe he had the best interest of the country in his heart the entire time and has been nothing but slandered by the deep state, left, and all of the media..

If you think Trump is such a terrible person then you are no better conspiritard than Q followers.. You just got your propaganda elsewhere..
Possibly as tvbcov stated, from the same source, but the other side of the disinformation campaign designed to divide..
560  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the next communist industry? Go back go Climate change, or medical? on: January 20, 2021, 02:20:34 PM
Should probably jump on board the “kill whitey” train of you want to fit in because I think the “white people is bad” narrative will be their next big push..

Exterminate, or atleast depower their greatest enemy to authoritarian communism.. Free thinking liberty minded white populations who gave the world such things as the US constitution, bill of rights, democracy, and such other great hurdles to the globalist communist agenda..

Oh, and the continued destruction of Christian values at any cost no matter how ridiculous it may seem..
Like appointing a transgender (mentally ill) as “health” secretary, lol.. Honk Honk
