~
Decentralizing funds and seed backups are best thing to do. It will help to prevent the worst case when you store all your money in one seed and hacker get access to one of your backup and steal all of your funds.

Decentralization is a backbone of bitcoin as well as the crypto currency world. It can also be applied for fund storage and seed backups.

Keeping small funds in handy-wallet for daily usages while decentralizing main funds into different seeds (keep their backups safely too).

I think no postpone the game for this weekend, all scheduled.
here  games of Matchday 26

https://twitter.com/SerieA_EN/status/1236242689974095872

CET is Central Europa Time, You can calculate into Your country time here https://time.is/CET
for example, Bitcointalk using UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) time [-1] from CET
Thanks for the fixture, in CET.

This week will mark important point for Inter Milan. If they will the game against Juventus, they will keep their place in the trophy race. In contrast, if they lose that game, or even get only 1 point, they will nearly lose the trophy. Inter have 2 more matches (were postponed) in hands but with pressure of point gaps, they will not have good mood when playing those matches later weeks.
5503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 08, 2020, 06:44:43 AM
@tranthidung you’re right that this season Messi and Ronaldo haven’t performed well, but it’s too early to rule them out of the race to win the golden boot, and between Lewandowski and Halland I would pick the latter as he’s simply brilliant and a beast in front of the goal.
Who will win the race depends on the strength of their teams - that are nearly the same, and their forms - that are excellent too. Lewandowski and Haaland are not sensible with injuries so let's see how these teams will play and end their next matches.
Lets give them a break, these guys are over 30years and have been consistent for the past decade. Single handedly, they have carried their club respectively to win major trophies including this competition and it's quite time others step up to fill their shoes and that's what Lewandowski and Halland is currently doing as they're the players making the competition a delight to watch this season, with the goals they're scoring. If you think they (Messi and Ronaldo) are underperformed for the season, use their stats to compare with others, apart from those obviously having an incredible season.
Messi and Ronaldo are doing well, compare with other players who have ages above 30. Their forms only fall compare to theirs in the past 2 or 3 years. Haaland, what I expect from him is his performance next season to see he is a really good player or only a one-season phenomena.
5504  Other / Meta / Re: Is the wall observer thread not synced? on: March 08, 2020, 06:38:44 AM
I've tried to reference an image I've used from google and it came from the wall observer thread here on our forum but the page number it displays doesn't contain the image I've posted.
I am just curious because it isn't the first time I've clicked a link way back before about wall observer that displays an incorrect page.
If you have encountered such issues like this, please tell. Maybe there's a problem with URL linking in Wall Observer Topic.

Or maybe, I am just the only one that couldn't see the picture.
The answer is here, about a periodic global recount. Please see the full discussion at Wall Observer needs a recount
There is a "periodic global recount" and guess this is what happened here with the WO thread.
Had some issues with my post count a while back and Theymos said to wait for the recount. So... auto-fixed tyvm Smiley)
5505  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Security - Additional Protection For Your Seed/Private Keys. on: March 07, 2020, 06:57:36 AM
another security point that is usually overlooked when creating a backup is "encryption".

the private key or mnemonic needs to be encrypted before it is written on whatever medium you choose (paper, metal,...) because if anybody could ever take a look at that backup they can easily write it down and then later on use it to steal all the funds that are stored in those keys.
Encryption for private key or mnemonic seed first, then back them up with different methods: paper, metal tiles, password softwares like Keepass.

After encryption, and backup steps, the next step will be having good storage locations (some backups are stored at some locations - all need to be safe ones).

The last step will be a trial of recovery from those backups. To avoid mistakes during backup steps, try to use backups to test and see how correct they are before actually sending your money to those wallets.
Quote
a simply encryption prevents that although it introduces a new issue: "how to remember/store the password used to encrypt it"!
Excellent point. It is why I never use common questions from device setups or from account registrations because I fear of free disclosures of my common facts in my life, that can be used to steal my money.

There are customer services that can help us to recover our accounts, or on the forum, a signed message, common questions are non-sense and risky.
5506  Other / Meta / Re: A board for Privacy? on: March 07, 2020, 06:18:55 AM
For me, the biggest advantage of privacy is to stop Google messing with my searches.

I do use the Tor window in the Brave browser though.
Brave browser is bad because they broke their initial slogan by having their requirements on mandatory KYCs on people who want to receive BAT. That browser is fast and smooth, I like it but in terms of privacy I don't.

If I want to use Tor, I would directly go to Tor browser, instead of Brave browser.
Using Google products is bad idea because by doing that, we self-expose ourselves and our data to Google's huge database that can be sold out or compromised by hackers on bad days.
5507  Other / Meta / Re: Merits did help to stop hate on this forum on: March 07, 2020, 05:37:12 AM
The merit system was not designed to stop fighting among forum members, it was designed to stop spammers from being able to rank up.

There is a lot of fighting among cliques of forum members. There are probably at least 5 threads with various disputes in both Meta and Reputation that are posted in at least daily.
When people want to begin fighting, they always find reasons to start 'wars'. Reasons (in their opinion) can be trust system, negative feedback, flags, disaggrements, merit system, and more ones.

For the merit system, I feel happy with it because despite of the fact the system takes me 2 years to become a Hero Member and many decent efforts to move and get what I have had now. It restricts spammers to rank up to higher ranks and in the same time it allows good users to move upward on higher ranks. People who can rank up with the merit system are different and they deserve that. Their efforts are and will be recognised by the community (from the merit they received and from the reputation they built up) and by the campaigns' managers (it will them having higher probability to be chosen by managers of good campaigns). All of that, help them having good bonus income during their time on the forum.

Hate? I don't see any reasons to hate the others, starting with the merit system.

Juventus Turin - Inter Milano

who will win?

Who did you bet on?

When these two teams played last year, juventus won the game. will Inter win this game this time? if Inter lose this game the situation will be very complicated for them:

I bet juventus will win this game
Inter Milan has 2 more matches that were postponed due to Covid-19 but it is a disadvantage for them. Because they will face lot of pressure when playing those matches later with a big gaps of points on the table compare to Lazio or Juventus.

Lazio temporarily takes the lead among these three candidates for the trophy but I would say Juventus has a biggest chance to win this year. Not only because they have dominated the league nearly a last decade but also because they have 1 more match and only 2 points behind Lazio.

On the hands of Lazio, they depend too much on C.Immobile that is not good for them in the rest of this season. Around ten matches left and they have to pray for C.Immobile to keep his outstanding form till the end of this season (without any injury).

5511  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't auto Save your login details on: March 06, 2020, 02:26:58 PM
As long as you don't give any access to anyone for sure your informations or wallets are safe but if someone log in on cafe or any public computer then they are at risk for any attacks and people should really value the importance of 2FA since if they spend time for setting it up they can sleep with peace since they are safe.
Don't give access of wallets or computers to the others are only one of protective activities. There are some bad habits nowadays people tend do and don't realize that they full disclose their personal details to third-party companies. When those companies have data leaks or sell their customers' data to other parties, you are at risks.

In a nutshell, don't save your personal details on third-party platforms: cloud-based storage platforms, online spreadsheets from Google, ie.
5512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: March 06, 2020, 01:54:09 PM
Fork ~ clone and they will end with no interests from community, investors, zero value.
But blockcain networks are made up of people, if there's a motivation to fork, it will be valuable for those people.

We laughed at Bitcoin Cash, but it's still fighting a war of attrition against Bitcoin, still supported by a motivated minority.
Clone coins ad clone ones no matter their developers refuse that fact or admit it. What you said is right but I believe you forgot one important thing of clone coin. Fundamentally, clone coins don't have any new technical specifications (modified or improved from original coins). They simply are cloned and renamed before running marketting to attract investors.

Fork coins, on the other hand, have some technical improvements from original coins. Such fork coins can get attraction from investors and community (or can not) but they are truly fork coins.

I am not into active trading and do not use this feature often even though I've been aware of it. I occasionally buy of a certain amount of Bitcoin to add to my stash and when I do, I quickly check around the different sites I'm registered on for the variations to the market price and also the trading volume.
It would be very invaluable to day traders who would want to take advantage of the difference in prices to make profits.
OP provides a good tool for people who have not yet known about the site but when you want to do inter-exchange tradings by taking advantage of price gap of bitcoin over exchanges, there are some factors to consider further.

- Volume on input and output exchanges: To make sure that you will have good prices to buy and sell with your intended money.
- Reputation of exchanges you want to use for inter-exchange tradings.
- Don't store your bitcoin on any exchange after buying it. If you store your bitcoin on exchanges, it should be a very small part of your capital. You should never totally rely on exchanges' reliability and their responses or compensations for customers if there are something seriously wrong with their platforms (hacks, ie.)
5514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: March 06, 2020, 11:24:07 AM
Do not use a penny for marging trading, you HAVE TO lose your assets longterm. The ONLY reason to use it is as an assurance against market fluctuation, if you cannot trade your asset itself (buy low, sell high).
If a trader has never used and experienced marginal tradings, he or she will never get actual feelings about the market. His/ her emotions will change fastly with market movements or even fluctuations.

As I recommended above, using a very small part of your capital for tradings and a minor part of that part for margin trading is good. You won't lose too much of your whole capital. I agree that if one does not manage him-/her-self on which proportion of capital will be used for margin tradings, he/she should never do margin tradings because of there are extremely high risks of liquidations with the type of trading. The risks are much higher for newbies.

Even with experienced traders, there are unavoidable risks of liquidation as a consequence of cascade effects on exchanges.
5515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season question on: March 06, 2020, 11:17:19 AM
Yes, it is possible for altcoins to increase without bitcoin,

If altcoins will show good fundamentals and have some additional functions over time, it will increase even without the influence of bitcoin. There is a lot of reasons why altcoins increases, it only depends on how the altcoin will develop in the long run.
Bitcoin and altcoin market have a mutual correlation. Sometimes they move upwards together, sometimes they move downwards together. In some periods, they move in opposite directions but as being said Bitcoin is a King of crypto market and most of altcoins have their main part of liquidity concentrated on ALT/BTC trading pairs. The number of ALT/USDT pairs is much less than the number of ALT/BTC trading pairs.

It is an off-topic question but I am curious that you are the @Dabs (formerly is a staff), aren't you?
5516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: March 06, 2020, 08:41:06 AM
If you need an adrenaline rush, KuCoin offers Dash 10x leveraged trading against BTC and USTD.
Use with caution!

https://www.kucoin.com/news/en-kucoin-margin-trade-adds-zec-xtz-dash-etc-assets-and-trading-pairs

Kucoin exchange tries to expand its reputation, liquidity and income with newcoming leverage tradings. It's so good to see DASH in their list.
DON'T USE LEVERAGED TRADING, YOU LOSE YOUR MONEY FOR SURE LONGTERM.
Margin trading is not for newbies and don't use it if you don't afford your loses at start. From my experience, you will get loses first before you manage your skills and mentality to use margin tradings effectively and reduce your loses while increase your profits. That is exactly what I have learned from my own loses and experience.

Don't use all your capital for margin tradings. I would go to use 10 or 20 percent of my capital for it.
5517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board on: March 06, 2020, 08:32:35 AM
I am a strong believer in the utility of local boards.
Locals will be inspired by translations from excellent original threads that you actually have. Some of locals (especially in some nations) don't know English or have below average reading skill so good translations will help them.

Then, when they recognise the value of the forum, they will grow up and who knows they will be a future of our forum. Translations can play as a carrot to kick off their journeys here.
5518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season question on: March 05, 2020, 11:59:56 AM
Let's imagine for a moment that bitcoin does not exist. Can't altcoins exist without it? Altcoins are actually already firmly entered the crypto market and are not going to go anywhere.
Let's imagine first that without Bitcoin, there has not been a crypto market and will be not.
It's not impossible that altcoins season will return without bitcoin but it's less likely to happen, maybe 1% chance only.

Why? that is because bitcoin has been dictating the market, majority of the market movement is based heavily on the movement of bitcoin, therefore in order to see an altcoin season, we need to see a bitcoin bull run first.
Mostly, altcoin seasons appear after very long bear period and are triggered by bitcoin bull runs. You are right and I totally agree with you. But have we witnessed a new bull run of bitcoin just a few hours ago? So yes please wait for another bull run of altcoins.
5519  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Any recourse for this frozen account? on: March 05, 2020, 10:57:00 AM
Not smart, but they would not accept users from my area and I could not find anywhere else to sell these coins.
You have learned a good lesson from this case, I believe.

Next times, when you have interests and in decision-making procedure to invest in one coin, please take into consideration how many available exchanges that coin has.

If there is only one exchange available, it means you have to take a bit high risk because there will be some scenarios that you don't expect to see but they always can happen.

1. That exchange delists the coin: You won't have another exchange to sell your coin.
2. That exchange makes a scam exit: You lose your coin.
3. That exchange requires a mandatory KYC: You won't do KYC, you lose your coin.
4. That exchange prohibits users from your nation: You lose your coin.
etc.

Usually, there are window times for you to withdraw your coin but it is not strange if sometimes you won't have a window time to do that.
5520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 05, 2020, 10:48:37 AM
Yeah, Liverpool suffered a ugliness last week after 2x defeats and couldn't get back, I know it's bad but for the champions league they won't let it go, of course Liverpool will insist on winning against Atletico Madrid in the second leg 1 goal behind not an obstacle for Liverpool maybe at Anfield will happen 2-0.
It is a bit odds to have a prediction that A. Madrid won't score a single goal at Anfield stadium. They have good players on the front line and good enough to score a goal to help them having very very big advantages to move onwards and beat Liverpool with aggregated result.

They are both good teams and to be fair I would say that the chance to have aggregated win for them is 50-50.
