Hey just a thought... you guys should consider a GMC fantasy sports application or website. If you could somehow incorporate GMC into fantasy sports the potential would be pretty huge to bring it to mainstream attention.

Yes, it would indeed. Any candidates in mind? We could probably do it from scratch, but being an option on an established site would work faster.

Hey, ladies and gentlemen. And you over there Cheesy

don't forget that Cryptopia could use some love too Cheesy They were nice enough to add us, now let's make 'em think that was the best decision of their young career.

Thank you Sir
I'll try that, strange console shows No errors

Why is it that some coin's have no block and chainstate etc folders?

different codebases. They're all based loosely on bitcoin, but they don't all store data in the same manner.

Also, if you haven't already started the bootstrap process, it might be faster to reindex. It's a command line switch, not console. You put Tekcoin-qt -reindex as the launch. In windows, the easiest way to do this AND have an icon to do it again if needed is to create a shortcut to the Tekcoin-qt.exe file, then rightclick on the new shortcut, and add -reindex to the command line. Save it with some name that will let you know it's the one that reindexes Cheesy

In linux terminal it's even easier. If it's in your path, Tecoin-qt -reindex. If it's not, go to the directory it's in and ./Tekcoin-qt -reindex.

All of this is assuming you use the GUI. For the daemon, it's all the same except it's Tekcoind instead of Tekcoin-qt.
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Buying GameCredits on: August 08, 2015, 06:18:35 AM
I'd love to get in on this!  Where am I able to buy them?

you can try to buy with a number of BTC, exchange it and get the game credits. you can try if you have not signed up https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange?market=GMC_BTC

click the list and have fun  Wink

And let's not forget, this is a mineable coin Cheesy There are several pools in the OP. I recommend acidpool, and GMC! (which I operate) is always up.

i am waiting from the answer from one of the two Eligius persons before i switch to coinbase wallet...

It's never recommended to mine to an address that you do not control personally.

That said, I do believe Coinbase is one of the few services that does properly handle generated payouts, so, technically you should be able to.

But again, I do not recommend mining to any address/wallet you don't actually control, as in you have the private key(s).  Doesn't anyone remember MtGox?  Cry
I'm sure everyone remembers that MTGox paid for Eligius' servers in order to get free transactions ...

Kano, I like you, I really do. But... Jesus, man, put a cork in it. How long can you keep a feud going to no purpose? If I had to pick who I'd rather have a beer or a bowl with between you, CK, Luke-jr, and Wizkid, I'd probably only exclude Luke because inevitably we'd clash over Christianity. Whatever went down between y'all was years ago. Have a smoke and chill, will ya?

I like him to, i think hes very cool . but him and luke most of had some really bad words beyond what we saw i guess . I'm not tiring to start anything . i mean that ...

but

. By  that i mean there is a lot respect on this site , Ive never seen any other place I'm not just saying that .  one example is go to the some of the so called gaming forums were there is suppose to be respect but make one post that might help the game  etc they don't like it you ass is glass and the DEV let them do it. here on one really does it and they actually back off .

SO ,why all the fighting. Your cool lukes cool etc I would hate to see one day a really bad post that might end in a really bad way .

Yeah, I guess that's more or less where I'm at. Both Kano and Luke helped me when I was a raw newbie, and when I was a little less raw, Con helped me understand cgminer. Whizkid hasn't actually assisted me in any way other than just explaining things very well while running Eligius, and all four have been cool to me. Of the lot, Whizkid and Con have both pretty much backed off... Kano and Luke won't let whatever went down back in the day go. It must have been pretty ugly Tongue

Sending me to Reddit (puke) is just plain dirty Tongue I see your point. I said essentially the same thing to both CK and Luke probably a year ago. I'd prefer there be peace among the lot of you. But it ain't my affair.

My pool seems to be having issues, and all of it's configs seem to be correct. I am going to shut it down and restart it, so if you find that you've failed over, it should be back up in just a couple of minutes. At least one miner has had trouble getting the proper speed from his rig on my pool, and it was working fine last I put a serious test on it. If anyone else is having issues with vastly lower speed than your rig normally does, please let me know. My rig is putting out about 80% of what it should be, and it's not a powerful rig. This needs resolution.

At any rate, it's going to be restarted in just a few minutes, so if there are any further problems, or you're having one that I don't know about, please let me know!

so i was mining on acidpool, but for a week now the email verification system there doesnt work, before this it was great
most ppl have stopped mining, since u cant edit account information without email, and this has slowed the pool considerably
so i am looking for a new pool
all the other pools listed in this thread are either the same or non-existent, not even gonna talk about ispace
anyway this can be put on supernova or something similar?

https://hash-to-coins.com/

also having issues with acidpool, am in need of getting coins out of the pool .. have now stopped mining there as a result of manual transfer not working.

Thx and yea this is where i ended up for the moment but not much for pool hash rate for GMC yet there actually somewhat better staying on acidpool

dont want this reply to get massive so i wont quote the other guy about the manual withdraw thing, but the problem is the email verification does not work on acidpool at the moment
if u try to do any type of manual withdraw or edit account info it gives a failed to send email notification

According to noise23, it has now been fixed. He helps us a great deal, and yes, his pool is a bit better than mine Cheesy Same software, but he's more experienced.

Gentlemen, CHILL.

Can we just accept that one guy took what the other said the wrong way? Neither of you are trolls in my experience. Cool your jets.

I was just about to reply to the other gentleman where to shove that mascara he mentioned but cause of you, Biomech, I wont. After all, this is a TEK thread and we can be much more productive.
Instead of that, I m gonna go and buy a bit more TEK so next time somebody calls me a person trying to hurt TEK, I have a nice fat address to present. After all, they don't call me CrazyIvan for nothing.

LOL! That's the spirit. Living well is the best revenge.

Hilux? You good?

Whoever is having a problem with acidpool please contact admin@acidpool.com for help including manual withdrawal. Thank you.

You can also PM noise23 here on BCT. The problem is that people let a large amount accumulate, and then the number of small inputs gets so large that the network rejects the transaction. noise23 and I have both had this problem with our pools. I have a solution in mind, but am unsure that it will work at this moment. at any rate, contact him, and he will process a manual withdrawal.

also, my pool is up and working fine if you need a failover or are just looking for a new pool. gmc.cryptocloudhosting.org will lead you there Cheesy

IDEAS:

1. Texas Hold Em

2.Fighting game

Questions:

Will the games be built into the wallet like Steam or are they going to be on the ios and android store.

Fighting game is already in production, and I love poker Cheesy

As to the exact mechanics of the wallet, we are still working it out, but I think it likely that both options will be available to developers. Most games will likely be released first on Windows, then Linux and OSX. Android and iOS are problematic as they have terms of service within their stores that preclude the use of outside currencies. We're working on that, but they will probably be "limited" versions that don't actually use GMC, or perhaps a client that allows you to play online games by remote.

Will there be a way to port GMC into old school games?

Why not use bitcoin? Why do we need GMC?

1st question: Possibly. I'd like it to happen, but first focus is making it as near seemless as possible for current development. We get that done, then we can do all sorts of things with it.

2nd and third. We could use bitcoin. But bitcoin's focus is on becoming a mainstream currency, not any real means of doing so. That is their goal. Our goal is a commodity that is of use NOW. Not in the future when "everyone uses bitcoin". Plus, there are things about bitcoin, both it's community and it's structure, that are actually a bit inimical to broad development.

From the technical side, it has ten minute block times in ideal conditions. I've frequently seen it take over an hour, and once a whole day to find one block. This actually precludes it's use for it's intended goal without the addition of third parties, such as credit card companies. In my arrogant opinion, almost every altcoin is technically better than bitcoin. It has the first mover advantage, and it started what is becoming a revolution. For that, I will always love bitcoin. But the evolution from that DNA has left it a dinosaur in a fast moving world. If a cryptocurrency displaces the almighty dollar, it won't be bitcoin. As a savings vehicle, perhaps as it becomes more scarce, it will work. As a means of moving assets from one place to another nearly seamlessly, it is very good and it's infrastructure both broad and deep enough to eventually displace or be used by such services as Moneygram and Western Union.

From the cultural side, we have a very vocal group of people, mostly all of the developers included, who view Bitcoin in a religious manner. They are convinced that no other cryptocurrency can possibly compete because Satoshi Nakamoto was a living god. I suspect that Mr. Nakamoto is having a rather good laugh over this, if he is indeed one person. These people stifle innovation, and they don't even consciously do it on purpose in most cases. What is the word that they always throw out when a new coin is introduced, regardless of it's perceived or seen merits? Shitcoin. Scamcoin. Clone. They claim that since most cryptocurrencies in existence are derived from bitcoin code, that they can't possibly be an improvement or have anything to offer.

I beg to differ. We share over 99% of our DNA with the Chimpanzee. Chimpanzees, if they ever set foot on another world, will have done so because a human used them for a lab ape. Clearly that 1% of difference makes a hell of an impact. Or, if an evolutionary argument don't hold, how about a technological one? Almost every car on earth is derived from the original "automobile" patent and follows pretty rigid standards of form and function. The car that set the majority of those standards was the Ford Model T. Does anyone seriously question the superiourity of ANY modern vehicle to the Model T? Sure, they're cool looking, and yes, they put the automobile in the hands of the common man. And for this, Henry Ford and his car are and SHOULD BE respected. By the same token, bitcoin's open source nature put the concept and the ability to improve upon it in the hands of anyone willing to undertake the project. And hundreds have. Heroes and scoundrels and everything in between. Have they change the base code by a lot? No. Have they changed it significantly as to it's functionality?

I say yes. Not a "maybe", not a "possibly", just yes. Bitcoin's schema is flawed, and the altcoin community has addressed, in numerous ways, all of those flaws. That this has led to a plethora of coins of mostly no practical utility except as a vehicle to gather bitcoin without mining is also true. But this has much more to do with the focus, and maturity, of the developers. A great many of these innovations came from young people with no real plan beyond "Hey, I can do this". And there have been a number of nefarious actors as well. But that does not change the fact that the innovations have been made and are being made daily.

So, Why GMC? Because we have the flexibility to target a very large but very specific market. As long as the basic functionality of the coin is maintained, we are free to add to it or alter it as we choose, and thus make it even more tailor made to that niche market. At current, it is not a terribly innovative coin. We are, of course, intending to make a number of changes to the wallet, and the peripheral things to the coin. Since the takeover, the alterations made have been primarily aimed at stabilizing a coin that was a mess. It had promise, the original developers broke that promise. Whether by intent or not, I do not know. I wasn't involved at the time. I suspect there was no deliberate malfeasance, just some people in over their heads. As we progress, we aim to add a number of features and services to the GMC family  that will make it the easiest to use crypto ever. Whether we achieve this aim remains to be seen, but I lead a group of very talented men who have achieved sufficient age to not get discouraged by the day to day swings of the market, or the fact that we have so far made little impact. We are instead focused on what needs to be done, both in the near term, and to make this a long standing success story. If we succeed on just our current plans, this will be an immensely successful token. And it will be traded for far more than BTC.

Unlike Bitcoin, where we would be riding the coattails of some other's dream, we are making our own dream take flight. We of course have immense respect for what has gone before, and in aiming to make our own brand as recognizable or more so than Bitcoin we show that respect. We will be continually addding features to both our clients and our interfaces. It is the goal of this team to make our wallet so easy to use that people actually find it harder to use their credit card or paper cash. Can we achieve that? We're certainly going to try. But we're going to do it in the gaming industry, where people are FAR more demanding than the guy going to the corner Starbucks for a cup of coffee. From that crucible, we just might, in time, be the coin that breaks free of Bitcoin as a "base pair".

It makes you look less a fool if your FUD has some basis in reality. This team has existed since April of this year, when the coin was taken over.

That wallet is not a cryptsy wallet. It is my wallet. It has been in overdrive for some time now and bogging down my CPU. In the last 2 weeks I have been gathering a larger number of small blocks and sending them to cryptsy and then sending the tek back to my wallet in very large blocks of 2000 or so. I had no idea that a single wallet staking could have such a profound effect. I apologize for this. I will continue to combine blocks using this method of combining blocks once a day for the next month. Hopefully this will reduce POS difficulty.

Thank you for that. The same thing happend to me when I was mining tek. When POS kicked in 30 days later I was getting small rewards every min or 2 , and my wallet became so slow it was near unusable.

Vegas

Coin control is your friend Cheesy

Especially with TEK and HYP. For the opposite reason. TEK will stake at less than one coin, and HYP will not stake worth a damn unless the blocks are fairly large.
