Do you know where this was written? I don't seem to find it, maybe I am blind af.
It was definitely on their google forms requirement for joining the airdrop. Was probably in their Discord, and their Telegram too. But, I've just verified that it was definitely a requirement for participating in their airdrop.
Yep. I just saw it, and confirm it: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1--XSw87tT_6b5SKXbd8u2glafWU9hSZ5Uht0Iqm5aUY/viewform?edit_requested=true

To clarify the OP:

Incentivizing people to post in your ANN thread is not allowed. That's why the account was banned, and the thread was thrashed. You should read the rules and stickied topics than bothering to say what other ICOs do.
602  Other / Meta / Re: User nominated names of possible moderators for forum. on: September 07, 2018, 09:55:23 PM
I think krishnapramod does that, he focuses more on economics board, and is the top reporter there. Words of hilariousandco btw.

Also, hilariousandco received a PM by theymos containing a list of top Bitcoin Discussion reporters. But then again, does our nomination have any real use if nothing ever happens?
I've noticed krishnapramod's reports myself. Oh okay. I wasn't aware that there was a list floating around. Hmm, I'm not sure. I think theymos only ever takes it into consideration if there's not enough reporters reporting there, and he specifically asks for the communities opinion on who should be appointed. Look at the P&S "election" recently.
The list isn't public, and apparently hilariousandco made some suggestions after he received the "list",you know what happened after that. If you don't then, read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5015686.msg45275827#msg45275827

Looking at the P&S election, I see digaran trying so hard to get that mod job. He was trying really hard: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3292413.0;all

603  Other / Meta / Re: Question about thread reporting. on: September 07, 2018, 09:47:20 PM
Could do. But, would this be turned on by default? If not, then a lot of people wouldn't use it anyway, and would just ignore it.
Instead of locking up threads, we could just archive them within bitcointalk, so that people could still refer to it in the future. The Op won't be thrashed either. It solves every issue, well, it just won't ever get implemented. Cool!

I wouldn't worry too much about bad reports. I have a few hundred bad reports. You get over it once you've racked up a few Cheesy
You have more bad reports than my total number of reports. yay!  Lips sealed
604  Other / Meta / Re: User nominated names of possible moderators for forum. on: September 07, 2018, 09:21:05 PM

I received it via a Pm a few days, and cropped the irrelevant part. So yeah, my nomination goes for him, since he helps a lot of members, especially in the Philippines/Filipino community. iasenko too, maybe?
I believe Iasenko suggested that they don't have as much time to report anymore, and probably wouldn't have enough time to deal with reports if that is the case. We are nominating people, but really we don't have the in depth statistics that theymos has. If we want someone to moderate the Bitcoin Discussion section, then we would need to know who is reporting there.

Your ANN thread: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php%3Ftopic=4972443

Your thread is so trash;

BTW You are paying users to spam your thread which is not allowed by the rules

From https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=434310.0:

You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

If you're basing this on the basis of reports, then I believe theyoungmillionnaire has more reports than most of them you nominated if not all of them. He has atleast 16,000 reports, and here's the proof:

Tomatocage hasn't been active for more than a while, and there were rumors of Tomatocage being hacked and wasn't in the right hands.
607  Other / Meta / Re: Received a ban of 7 days. Help please understand, because of what. on: September 07, 2018, 07:20:03 PM
Just wait out the ban, don’t ban evade (post anywhere else in the forum apart from in Meta) during the 7 days or they could make it a permanent ban.
Thanks I got it. I just want to understand where I was wrong to avoid problems in the future.
Its given there. Participating in on-forum altcoins giveaway. It means that you participates in an on-forum airdrop/giveaway where you post your Telegram or other details. It's not allowed. Read the stickied thread there.
608  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, we want those sections back to us, new moderators? on: September 07, 2018, 04:13:27 PM
I see theymos was here but didn't answer the request.
Hope we get a feedback soon.
...
How you can see that theymos was here?
Is there any setting in the forum to check back later who has viewed the topic/post?
I thought it's not possible, but I don't know all the features of this forum....
No there's no setting like that. It's was probably assumed that theymos was online and was answering other threads, so he must have seen this too.
609  Other / Meta / Re: [Beta] @mention notification bot open for testing on: September 07, 2018, 01:22:00 PM
I think when is working properly I can try to ask if the restrictions can be lifted, with pm everything would be much simpler.
Can that be optional? I don't want to be spammed by PM, a thread in "Show new replies" is much less intrusive.

Slightly off-topic: what do you use to post? I used to have a script that could post, but Cloudflare broke it. I tried to find something newer, but never got anything that I can get to work.
I'd love to have a post/PM bot again! Many spammers have it, I don't Sad
Oh, yes I think a lot of people will find the bot useful, for useful purposes. Is it possible to use a script to make posts with an existing account?
610  Other / Meta / Re: Reminder for @theymos - Public-key-registration System on: September 06, 2018, 10:50:40 PM

I don't understand why theymos said there in that quote that keeping IP logs is extremely useful for account recoveries. Most hackers will just use Tor or a VPN to log in, and most people will also use VPN and Tor to browse this site, that is, if they know what they are doing, because I doubt people use their real IP's here, a place with tons of scammers trying to dox each other and so on. (maybe im missing the point and he is talking about something else, I haven't looked at the context of the quote)

The recovery system is a mess, big backlog of people still waiting to get their accounts recovered after delivering sufficient cryptographic proof via signing a message with a BTC address as they request. Yet, 99% chances are neither theymos or cyrus will look at your thread.

I like how that system sounds, however it must be automated for account recovery or else hire more people to make the process faster.

Why would most people use VPN here? I mean more than in any other case. There's nothing illegal going on, so if a person doesn't use a VPN in everyday browsing, there's no reason to use one here. Having said that, there is a concerning amount of scammers here and they're starting to pile up on each other. Maybe we should address that issue first..
Just because you use a VPN, doesn't mean you're doing illegal things here. VPN is intended for your privacy ,not to protect you from illegal activities. People use VPN here, because they apparently get ddoxed and whatnot through various means. So if you want to protect yourself from hackers ,and want your data to be safe, its advisable to use a VPN/tor.
611  Other / Meta / Re: New Tor doesn't log out automatically on: September 06, 2018, 09:31:50 PM
Maybe you clicked the always logged in button? I don't really think TOR update has anything to do with bitcointalk and its logging system.

If someone is using your same IP, they can't login into your account, unless they have your session key or your credentials.

The slow motion things might be in the settings to change, check maybe?

I don't use TOR, I am just trying to possibly help.
612  Other / Meta / Re: Reminder for @theymos - Public-key-registration System on: September 06, 2018, 09:27:56 PM
He's working on it:

If you have not posted that addy elsewhere, it probably won't be accepted.

We don't actually accept the profile field address unless there's some sort of proof that it's remained unchanged, for that very reason.

I'm working on a new address-staking system which will automatically handle signatures, etc. Might have it ready by the end of the month if nothing else comes up to consume my time.

Very few people use VPN/TOR, even if they do, they don't exactly know how to use it(like having your cookies kept idle or whatever that is).  The hackers may use a VPN/Tor, but the old users who got their account hacked due to the bitcointalk hack probably didn't use any VPN/tor. I could be wrong, but people initially wouldn't have used a VPN/tor, because who would have thought shit like this happens on the forum.
613  Other / Meta / Re: Let’s do an experiment: allow signatures on the Ivory Tower for one month. on: September 06, 2018, 09:19:37 PM
I vote we change the name to "The senior coffee lounge".
Yes please, and then we can talk about TV shows and movies. That'd be cool, come to a bitcoin forum, just to talk about shows like "Better Call Saul".

I think Ivory Tower is more meant for people like BADecker, Notbatman, Quickseller, B1tUnl0ck3r, nomad13666. Did I just mix P&S board retards with QS?  Roll Eyes
614  Other / Meta / Re: Let’s do an experiment: allow signatures on the Ivory Tower for one month. on: September 06, 2018, 06:23:54 PM
No. It utterly defeats the purpose of having that board in the first place.

How is it not working? Clearly it is working if it's not full of sig spam.
The purpose is working, it's just that the board is sorta dead, and people aren't posting interesting enough stuff in it. We are just seeing P&S board II.
615  Other / Meta / Re: Is the Ivory Tower dead? on: September 06, 2018, 03:19:59 PM
You'll hardly get replies there, because there's no signatures. Most people won't even bother to post there. And I don't think there are very great fascinating topics there,so its sorta dead.
616  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, we want those sections back to us, new moderators? on: September 05, 2018, 09:37:16 PM
I still don't understand why theymos is being like the One-person company. And he lives in the US.  Undecided

Why should there be trust issues for hiring accountants and professionals? Does it have anything to do with slickage not delivering the new forum as expected or what? And there are people here on this forum who wouldn't run away with a few hundred dollars.
617  Other / Off-topic / Re: MERITS FOR DESERVING MEMBERS OF FORUM on: September 05, 2018, 09:30:27 PM
uh......not gonna work. Bad idea. You have a form, shitposters people will spam the shit out of it. And people also don't like merit "giveaway" threads.

oops, I broke a rule.
618  Other / Meta / Re: Who behaves the most like the forum-police? on: September 05, 2018, 09:26:42 PM
In an ideal world account sales just would be banned. However, I'm not sure how it would be enforced in all honesty. At the moment they are communicating through the forum, but if it gets banned then its just going to go to external sites. Maybe, that wouldn't be so bad? I guess then though account recoveries could be even more problematic than they are now.
Its already gone there, not only are these available in other "forums", there are websites intended for this purpose, so banning account sales is mere and beyond useless.

619  Other / Meta / Re: Most entertaining person on bitcointalk - POLL - 12 days - 3 votes per member on: September 05, 2018, 09:19:04 PM
I think this poll is just going to be a "crazy off" where the most crazy members come up on top. We all know how entertaining DannyHamiltons posts can be from a technical stand point, but he has no chance of winning when there's several members who swear down the earth is flat, and the planet is made out of cheese.

It's not just British sense of humour. It's any kind of  humour for non-native speakers, no matter the nationality of the humour. Double meaning, sarcasm and humour are difficult to understand even if you are proficient (and a non-native speaker).
I sometimes get it and sometimes not. Other times it takes me a while.
British humour is certainly something different to most nationalities. We can be incredibly dry. Some nationalities don't seem to get our "banter" either.
British humour is different, someone who understands the language and watches a lot of TV shows/Movies will get it. Being a non-native speaker, I find British humour quite funny. People don't really use that humour here, but then again its a rare thing for people to even use normal humour.

This thread is supposed to be with full of jokes, we only have people telling who they voted. Suckers. You didn't even vote for me.  Angry
620  Other / Meta / Re: Who behaves the most like the forum-police? on: September 05, 2018, 08:59:40 PM
Back in the day it used to be : xetsr, Lutpin, Lauda, Cryptodevil, Blazr. xetsr was a VERY active DT member. Then he just disappeared. Never returned, and defaulted on a loan. Hope he is ok.

Now that most of those DT members are active, its now taken up by : Marlboroza, TP, Loyce, actmyname, DarkStar_,hilariousetc. Chipmixer squad lol.

oh wait, aren't all of them alts??  Huh
