621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the future of cryptocurrency?? on: October 05, 2023, 01:03:37 PM
Lol, isn't it obvious that the future of cryptocurrency is good? I mean we are about to reach the bull run again, so the price will go up and we might hit all time high, regardless if it is a solid project or a shit coin or meme coin. Because that's how everything works here, we have a cycle, a 4 year cycle, with the bull and bear market. Currently we are in the last leg of the bear market and perhaps this is why the OP is asking as we have been in this cycle for about 2 years or so. So for us, we need patience, this is not the first time that we will see this kind of cycle. So we should look for the future and that the future looks good and hopefully everyone would enjoy again when we go on the bull run 2024-2025.
622  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does bitcoin price increase after halving? on: October 05, 2023, 12:45:16 PM
Going through the history of bitcoin one could observe drastic changes in miners' income. If the whole story of bitcoin is going to last beyond 2124 (too far from now) can anyone explain me where are miners heading? Who is going to maintain the whole blockchain when there will be no halvings at all?! Or is it going to be like you have to pay 0,5 BTC just to send another 0,5 BTC to someone? Where I am missing the point of the mess?

You don't have to look that far though, in the next 2-3 halvings, we will see that almost all bitcoin will be mine, that is 99% of it and that 1% will be mined until 2124 or 2140 as others estimated it.

So just what, for sure we will see it in our lifetime what its like to see bitcoin 99% being mine and what will be the incentive for miners to continue to find that elusive block and it will be interesting what will be the price of bitcoin that time. Right now, we can't tell it though, as there are factors and parameters that might affect the fees.
623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: October 05, 2023, 12:09:03 PM
No doubt Casimero would fight Inoue in Japan because that is not new to Casimero. Remember, he was called a "road warrior" as he has gone to different countries to challenge their champions. My concern is Inoue's promising future; if he wants to be well-recognized, then he shouldn't be just fighting in Japan.

Most probably they would fight each other in Japan where the Japanese Monster is comfortable. I have read an article that Japanese are buying tickets for this fight and seems like they are interested to see how Casimero would perform against Oguni because they also wanted to see our very own Quadro Alas fight their own pride.

With regards to Inoue just settling in Japan, i think Top Rank is already aware of that and for sure they will make some move to bring their cash cow to the boxing mecca of the world, Las Vegas.

Time flies so fast that this Casimero vs Oguni would be happening next week but have not seen odds yet for this fight, hopefully they would cover this early.

Yes, time flies so fast, last week we have the Charlo vs. Canelo and now the one that we all waiting for, Casimero against Oguni and as we have said, the pressure could be in the shoulder of Casimero to win impressively and by a knockout no less so that his name is still in the works for a Inoue fight which fans like us are waiting, regarding if the fight is to be held in Inoue's country.

Bob Arum should really work his magic and tell the Inoue's that it's better for them to have their boy fight in the mecca of boxing which is the United States so that they can cement his legacy and obviously, makes a lot of money as well.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 05, 2023, 09:50:45 AM
Watch out for this kid, Curmel Moton, a 17 year old protege of Floyd Mayweather.

He moves like a young Floyd, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoG1nAK_28o. So we will see what the future of his kid will be, he has also been compared to Inoue but he said that he is bigger and stronger than Inoue. Definitely worth someone to wait in the next 5 years and for sure with Floyd as his mentor, he will be a champion.
Small but terrible.

https://boxrec.com/en/box-am/1066345
This young boxer had been in many fights before that pro debut. Technical boxer like Floyd Mayweather but he has the punch that can knock down his opponents just like in the video although I don't think he cannot make them sleep.
It's good though as long as he has the stamina and I like the aggressiveness from the start of the fight. That jab was so accurate that it made his opponent fall down.
Yes, the future of him looks good as long as he can keep up winning more of his bouts.
He looks small for a featherweight division but I found out that he said he would be willing to fight a taller fighter. That's nice to hear. Even Mayweather called out Leigh Wood (WBA featherweight champion) to try his guy Moton.

His height two might be a big problem for him, at 5'2'', he might not reach that further in weight class. However, for sure he has heard this already and is mentally prepared not to be affected by it. And with Floyd take him under his wing, his confidence grows as evident in that fight wherein he knock his opponent out and then the media goes crazy on this kid. Hopefully, since he is just 17 years old, still very young he will still grow and if he reaches like 5'6" and mature at that height then he be like Manny though, same height with heavy hands but he will be more on the defensive style like his mentor.

And as good as Floyd is, he also have a knack on fighting talents at a very young age, if I'm not mistaken a nephew or his or grand kids is already in boxing and showing some skills already. There are video of this kid as young as 5 years old with Floyd in the ring with him, cute by wait in 10 years he could be a representative to US Olympics and maybe bring gold for them.
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: October 05, 2023, 08:54:44 AM
So I kind of agree with the odds although I was also expecting something like 1.22 for Kingry earlier.

Most likely, the odds will be like that, probably not higher than 1.30.

Ryan Garcia is trying to redeem himself after a devastating loss to Tank. With a decent opponent, I'm sure he will be tested to see if he is really back in boxing. He isn't undefeated anymore, but his one loss could be the best learning experience for him. Who knows, he might have a rematch with Tank Davis in the future. For now, he has to focus on coming back strong.

Yeah, most likely the odds will be higher as Ryan Garcia is facing a unknown caliber fighter. And so with others who is just making a comeback after a devastating lost, they will get a fighter that might have a good in paper but for sure this is a careful match making on the side of Golden Boy. And most likely everything is back to normal with Ryan and Oscar as they will have to promote this fight again.

Ryan needs to win this one and forget how his lost to Tank Davis is. Because if he keeps on thinking about that fight then he can't go and move on his career. And we shouldn't be surprised that this is 140 lbs as this could be the weight class that Ryan could be comfortable as he doesn't need to weight drain himself.
626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Before you take sides on: October 02, 2023, 09:54:04 AM
We all know how people used to be protective when trying to explain how someone treated them badly, they always want to be the winner and if you are not smart you can fight the wrong war for them, later you will find out that they are the problem.

Gamblers are telling stories about how they got banned because they are winning too much, I will like to tell you not to believe everything people tell you, these stories typically have another side of the story, there is a high probability that these gamblers have broken some rules along the way.

For reputable casinos, banning players that have won a lot of money legally is bad for their business, the casinos knows that the word of the mouth spreads faster than anything, so I believe that a reputable casino do their strong research before they use their ban hammer.

Before you take sides with gamblers claiming they get banned for winning too much, remember that casinos are good at monitoring and preventing fraudulent behaviors, you break some rules you are out, and no cheater want to admit that they cheat.

I think gamblers knows how to read between the lines, I mean we can smell fellow gamblers if they broke a rule or doesn't tell the truth if they will accused online casinos, specially those who have established their reputations already. That's why he always says to give us some proof, like your betting or some form of communication from support.

So I do agree that we shouldn't take sides very easily and try to be as "fair" as we can before judging the casino or the gamblers themselves. For sure, reputable casino's wouldn't just put the hammer on a certain player unless they really have all the facts. The thing though is that they are not going to give out the details on how they arrived on that decision or how they know that certain players are just taking advantage and abusing their casinos.
627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 01, 2023, 09:23:33 AM
I’m seeing reports that Blake Griffin is considering retirement.

If Griffin ends his career in the NBA, it would be an expected decision, as he's already too far away from his prime based on his stats from last season. However, as far as I know, the Celtics are still interested in re-signing him for one more season. So, I think Griffin should take advantage of this opportunity to earn at least a couple more million dollars.

Yeah, why not grab that opportunity for at least a year and see how it goes for him. Still added bonus for him even if he is not given enough time, maybe his presence as a veteran or a reliever for the PF to sometimes Center might be good enough for him.

Not sure though if Clippers will hang up his jersey when he retires, but man when we see him during his prime with the Lob City with CP3 anchoring everything, it's so mesmerizing. And the poster dunks he did as well with the big man that time.
628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: October 01, 2023, 08:35:52 AM
Though his opponent is no longer in his prime, Casimero still needs a win with a big hype under his name. Winning it with an early KO
might bring the attention to the crowd.

Especially that he's fighting against a Japanese fighter where pride is really important, winning it with a KO or taking his opponent down with something
that vlogger can write a good story behind might really spark the interest of promoters to set him up against Inoue.

An important win to make or create a noise for your name and push the intensity to bring himself closer to Inoue's next challenger.

Im hoping to witness that. The last boxer he beat was Ryo Akaho. Although it was initially controversial and ruled as a no contest, since Ryo Akaho admitted he lost the fight, the win was awarded to Casimero via a 2nd-round knockout as we can see it in Ryo Akaho's record.

No, the last fighter that Casimero beat is Nghitumbwa and the fight was held in Manila. It was a dominant win by Casimero against the bigger opponent, and he had almost knock him out. But Nghitumbwa took the best of Casimero and was able to withstand.

That's why we said that against Oguni, Casimero should be impressive enough to get the attention of Inoue to be the next boxer that we will fight. At least if this fight ends in a knockout win for John Riel they hype will still be there for a potential Inoue class next year.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: October 01, 2023, 06:26:09 AM
Who might be Canelo's next opponent? There is nothing for him in super middleweight anymore except more money from other super middleweight fights or maybe if he accepts Bivol's challenge in Canelo's weight division.

In any case, if everyone is listening to Canelo's interview in the ring, it appears he will not retire soon hehehe. Next fight I wish will be vs. Benavidez!

Hopefully, it will be Benavidez next for Canelo. Benavidez has been calling Canelo out and hopefully this fight can be done. And it's really hard to see Canelo stopping at this point, when we thought that he could be done based on his last performance, he come up big against Charlo and dominated the fight from round 1.

I also gave Charlo just one round in this contest, he seems to be very tentative and that body shot, he might have felt it already that's why the game plan wasn't executed even though he is the bigger guy here.

Or maybe we can see Canelo vs Crawford?

631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 30, 2023, 08:04:06 PM
@inthelongrun, Lakers at 13? I think I've found a gem in the NBA futures.

Yes, if we can bet already with that great odds for the Lakers, it might be worthy in the end.

Well, it's understandable why the Bucks are now listed as heavy favorites to win a championship because of Lillard. Maybe the superstar will be able to help improve the system, but I have a feeling that their defense is going to suffer. Holiday is a good defender, just can't guard a player like Jimmy Butler, but with the same size as him, like Curry, probably he is very effective.

I think with the Bucks having a new coach, it will be a total different team, both offense and defense. There could be like a lot of player movement inside, so it's going to be really exciting for the Bucks having Dame in them, the offense is a notch higher but they will have to give something in defense as Jrue is no longer with the team.

This is a gamble made by the Bucks, but we cannot blame them as they are very desperate to keep Giannis, and the only way to do that is to make their team look good.

I wouldn't say it's a gamble though, I mean they got a potential HOF in Lilard with them. They will just have to make sure that everything will fit in their (new) system and then Giannis and him teaming up and blending.
632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: September 30, 2023, 07:50:03 PM
I think you have it correct. It will change your current financial status, it's just negative. That's the majority of results. Most of the time, people who are trying gambling and making themselves "addicted" to gambling and finding the time to "borrow" and make money, it's going to be a problem. You'll never know when they will stop and seize their gambling activities.

So you have people who are now just in gambling succumbed to it and is all negative. Did you try to talk to them and ask about what happened? Maybe it's not gambling that happened to them?

If you know that you could lose a lot, just stop. Have a budget and limit yourself with gambling.

Yes, seen some of my friends as well getting ruined in just matter of months when they started to go into gambling, young or old. I think when they started getting involved, they really don't realized the extend of what gambling can bring to them. So even if they have a lot of money to gamble, it's not going to be enough unless you have like a source of unlimited wealth which is not going to happen.

But it's hard to advise them to be honest, we really can't. And the best thing that I can do is that when he ask me to go with him to gamble in land base casinos, I will just say No to him and maybe it will send him a signal that I don't like gambling, I just play to have some fun and not get addicted to him. Maybe just once or twice a month for me will do. But not like almost everyday that he wants to go and play online and land base casinos.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and gambling which one has done you more harm on: September 30, 2023, 07:34:52 PM
When we gamble what we are looking after or expecting is money which is [profit] and when buy bitcoin and invest what we are looking after is [profit] and when you so many people they skip bitcoin investment to gamble and some uses very big amount of money to gamble whereas the same amount of money will achieve some fraction in bitcoin investment. So I come with this question to know the thing between this option or words I presented the one that done you more harm, if bitcoin  has done you more harm during the times you invested in bitcoin you can tell the public and if gambling has done you more harm by losing in gambling frequently you can also tell the public.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with the analogy of gambling vs bitcoin as a investment. Gambling is a bigger risk, you don't have total control over it, and it's based mostly on pure luck. As for bitcoin investment or any other investments for that matter, you just have to be a holder for long term, uses strategy like DCA and then sit and relax and wait for the right time to sell.

But for me I think gambling is the one that done people more harm than bitcoins investment, because almost every day people gamble with different platforms but its few of people that invest in a day or weekly, I will like us to discuss these.

Again, it's obvious as I have explain, you really need to be lucky just to win money in gambling. And the chances are not in your favor most of the time. Just look at the house edge. Or even worst, look at the odds of winning a lottery.
634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 29, 2023, 10:10:48 AM

Possible that Canelo will lose though. Seem a bit in decline if you look at all his previous fights which somehow in a unanimous decision. He took a risk against Bivol and lost. He also stopped improving. Maybe because he is already rich and there are no incentives to make more money anymore.

Apparently, Charlo is new in this weight class, he just bloated himself for the purpose of fighting Canelo. If he isn't used to his weight yet which is more than likely, it doesn't need a bit of a push for Canelo to KO him. 5th Division seems enough of an achievement for Caanelo, he isn't even 40 yet.

Whenever any fighter does that, (bloats himself) I think it has a lot of effect on his body and also his fighting as well. Fighters generally will need some good amount of time to get used to with his new weight. So it is definitely hard for anyone to fight in a new weight class.

Which is why Canelo is highly favored in this fight. And Charlo is not just moving up 1 division but 2 divisions north. Another thing is Charlo's over a year of inactivity. Normally, stars will take a tune-up fight after a long layoff or when moving up in weight but this one is different. The money is just too hard to refuse so Charlo has to take the challenge.

Charlo might be sluggish in this fight and it spells disaster as he can be easily cornered by Canelo who likes to fight someone who is flat-footed so he can unleash his deadly power punches.

And we can say that he is rusty because of his inactivity, and his best weight class is 154 lbs. Wherein he was supposedly to fight Tim Tsyzu if I'm not mistaken, defend his belt, but unfortunately he got injured. But it a twist, he suddenly gets healthy, his hands injuries are not even talk about in this fight and willing to go up to 168 lbs to fight Canelo.

So yeah, it's a recipe for disaster for Charlo, and it's obvious that he is getting a good paycheck from PBC here. Canelo on the other hand is very active, won against Ryder although we can question his performance, but still a win is win for him.
635  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Crypto firm Nansen ask users to reset their password on: September 29, 2023, 08:09:18 AM
This goes to show the dangers to handing over our sensitive data to such platforms. Of course, most of them promise to securely handle customer data through their privacy policies, but promises are always broken.

Yes, it's really hard to trust those platforms, I mean they promise to hold ours sensitive data with care. However, there are times that really this hackers were able to break them apart, hence stealing our information and we really don't know what's going to happen to our data except that it will be used again to hack or attempt to steal our crypto.

I wonder how many data breaches happen behind our backs and end up never getting published about. Very often, my email address related to crypto activities gets bombarded with spam and phishing links from time to time, and I can easily tell that it has somehow been exposed or leaked from some site I registered.

As far as I know there are a lot though, even in those years wherein bounty campaigns are very early. But in the latter part they ask for personal information from their participants and then we heard that it is intentionally sold in the dark market, or hackers were able to exploit this project and then get our data. So I wouldn't be surprised if there were another huge phishing attempts in the next couple of months because of this breached.
636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do the size and frequency of online casino winnings depend on the time of year? on: September 29, 2023, 05:08:36 AM
Do you think that there is a dependence of online casino winnings on the time of year? For example, for 9 years of playing, I received almost all the biggest winnings from November to May. In other periods, the game develops much worse  Undecided.

What time of the year do you win more often?

This is same as tracking your record which is good if you know how much you losses and win at a month or yearly basis, you can easily manage and understand how does the gambling impact into your life, base on my experience I start gambling for almost 2 years and last 2021 is one of my biggest wins I manage to hit almost 600$ with the wage of 10usd only still a win win situation even though I didn't hit a good jackpoit still imagine the small amount you bet brings almost x100+ multiplier bonus.

That's a huge win for you if you manage like 100x as returns for a $10.00 bet. And for sure many of us here have experienced at least a good run of that odds and win and very proud of it But as you have said, it's not like everyday you are going to win that kind of money. It's very seldom and there are more days that we might have a bad luck and it might continue for a long time. As if casinos are trying to get back what you have won from them.

But then again, it's based on pure luck and so it's really hard to comprehend which month is our biggest wins. Although I remember one time as a land base casinos, max bet and win big and it was like early day of November. But after that, in December I haven't had that kind of success and I haven't replicated that kind of big bonus for a long time.
637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Tips for Consistent Profits on: September 29, 2023, 04:54:41 AM
LOL! There are no effective betting tips for consistent profits. This is nothing but a myth. There are betting tips like OP mentioned, but they are not for consistent profits. It's simply because there are no consistent profits in gambling. If consistent profits were true following certain tips or strategies, NitroBetting itself would have already gone bankrupt. The idea of consistent profits is not true either in casinos or in sports betting. It isn't true at all.

Yeah, experience gamblers know that, maybe we can build our own strategies or follow what the OP says, but there are still risk that you might or might not win in the end. So take everything with a grain of salt specially for newbie gamblers. But for those who have been playing many years in online and land base casinos, there is still that element of luck.

And if it is on your side, you can win big money. But you need to be wise as well as you might run out of luck and so it's better to just quit when you are on top and have your winnings in your wallet. You can go back the next day and have a new strategy to win.
638  Economy / Gambling / Re: - UGA - a Gamblers Union on: September 29, 2023, 03:29:27 AM
I'm sorry to hear of your difficulties here. The saying "the house always wins" would apply here I would think. At the end of the day they gotta make money.

That's always been the case in any casinos, that's why they have what we call the house edge. And even if you have all the money in the world, for sure you are going to lose it all in the end because of the math.

I'm not sure what the OP though wanted to accomplished here, it's a given fact that at least one casino here has been accused of being dishonest or rigging the results to favor them. However, I can't phantom like a website wherein all gamblers, specially those who lost big money will gather around and talk about it and then nothing can be done. Of course, it's good that you can vent all your frustrations and anything, but still at the end of the day, nothing can be change. And you should really stop if you think you are mentally affected by our big losses.
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The BBC released a documentary inspired by SBF on: September 28, 2023, 12:57:00 PM
I'm not really sure if BBC has covered things that we didn't know already. It must be good for newbies in investment though so they can see how this scammers really work behind. They can disguised like what SBF is, and then getting a lot of friends, sport personalities, Hollywood actors/actresses and how his background get himself to some major politicians to really bring himself to be the saviour and give supposedly billions to charities and make a lot of humanitarian works that his company or the money that he will get. But it all failed as everything crumbled last year causing billions upon billions of money lost from the downfall of SBF. I wouldn't watch it though to be honest, I'm not a victim but I don't want to see him being glorified in some kind of documentary.
640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 28, 2023, 12:34:50 PM
And if it is true that Inoue stays at 122 for a while, he can also tell Tapales that he will just wait for the winner of his upcoming mandatories since it is most likely that they are all willing to fight Inoue because he is the biggest cash cow in the division plus it'll be for the undisputed championship. Maybe Tapales can also say that he will vacate 1 of his belts so Inoue will be forced to face 2 champions instead of just 1 more fight to become undisputed. Anyway, hope both Inoue and Tapales will settle their differences so we can see another undisputed fight this year.

My instinct tells me that this fight will push through, it is just a matter of how much they add to their offer to Marlon Tapales. Sean Gibbons is very good at that negotiation so there is no reason why this fight won't come to fruition and in fact Marlon Tapales was already in the US busy preparing for this fight that is most likely to happen this end of the year.

Yeah, we will have to just trust Sean Gibbons on the negotiation table, as much as we hated him because of some failed fight like when they still handle Casimero back then. But that was history already and they have parted ways.

But I do agree that Tapales has something to offer as well, he had 2 belts and Inoue needed it to become a unified champion. If they low ball Tapales and then the fight is not going to happen, then it will be a waiting game for Inoue. Maybe Tapales will go and give Akhmadaliev or choose a different path. Inoue's camp should be the A-side but they should respect Marlon as well and give him at least a decent paycheck for being a champion.
