1521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you buy more ETH after reading this ? on: December 15, 2022, 09:35:26 PM
"4 years ago: $84"

I still remember this time frame, me and my buddy discussing whether we should invest on Ethereum 4 years ago when it was in it's lowest price. I decided to invest just a couple of hundreds of dollars, him? he didn't believed.

So I made a sell off new the top price of around $4k and obviously I'm very happy with with I did.

In any case, I'm going to repeat it again, slowly accumulating ETH early this bear market and then continue to just HODL. I might not get the same results as far as profit, but for sure, I'm not going to lose either.
1522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Mercito Gesta (January) on: December 15, 2022, 09:21:35 PM

Yes, it's been in the news lately that Ryan Garcia will have its own tune-up fight before a showdown with Tank Davis.

His opponent is a Filipino slugger named Mercito Gesta which is for me a very lively opponent and dangerous as well but i also do think that a very good tune-up fight for him.

Although Gesta is a very good fighter with a good background I consider this a cherry-picked fight for Garcia because Gesta is not a promising boxer, already old and checking his fights on Youtube I saw some weaknesses in his style he is flatfooted and has lax his defense especially when attacking, these loopholes are the things that's Ryan's going to explore when they meet, I'll pick Ryan to win this fight because obviously, this is a cherry-picked.
Perhaps you are cherry-picking because you have your bias to Ryan Garcia unconsciously. If you spend a lot of time on social media, you'll see his face everywhere since there were heck of a creators that uses his influence in sports to something irrelevant on platforms mainly youtube. LOL. BUT tbh, even I am a Filipino I will go with Ryan Garcia, watching his previous fights are worthy of any opponent, just not as ripe as crawford and spence. It's a Filipino-American fight, so it's gonna be exciting. I wanna see 12 rounds of back to back exchange.

Of course this is a cherry-picked fight by Garcia's camp and I know Oscar De La Hoya helped on this task as well to get Ryan Garcia all prepped and got his tune-up before he faces Gervonta Davis who got vast ring IQ and also a knockout artist as well just like Ryan Garcia. There's no need for you guys to fight and talking about bias preferences because even if we don't know these boxers and only look their stats and their record, we all know that we will choose Ryan Garcia over Mercito Gesta.

And I would say that Oscar love to pick Filipino fighters, because besides the Mexican, they are also one tough cookie to deal with. And so if they want Ryan to be really battle tested against Davis, then they have to pick someone that is very durable, fast with power but somewhat in the downside of their career and they found a perfect fighter for Ryan in Gesta.

So yes a cherry pick fight but for sure, Ryan has been advise to take this fight seriously and train as if he is facing Davis because Gesta will be a good challenge for him and don't be to lazy and thinks that he can just steam rolled this Filipino.
1523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 15, 2022, 09:01:21 PM
I had high hopes for Bulls this season as last 2 seasons were on the positive road and we could see the progress but this year I can't see it and I also can't feel that it will come anytime soon. I don't even know what Bulls needs besides consistency on their games but then if I look closer on the Standings in both Conference , this season is freaking nuts and don't know to expect from most of teams but still....Bulls have a great squad this year and they can still push for those play-offs spots.

It's just very bad combination for them, they have all the parts but it seems it's not enough as they personnel might not be a perfect fit for what they are building. Last year they started hot, then falter, but was able to make the playoffs. DeRozan got injured in the regular games, but they choke in round 1 because of lack of experience. But now they can't close out game, and I say that DeRozan is inconsistent. They have to fight the groove up and at least put a decent runs, just like what the New York team does, when we thought that the roster will not do good, then they responded with a 5 game winning streak in the East.
1524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: December 15, 2022, 04:10:45 PM
No update until now? Despite being in the same stable, they still find it difficult to negotiate. Who is at fault here? Is it on Thurman or Spence? I had reservations about this fight occurring as soon as I saw this topic. Spence previously stated that he would not offer Thurman one of his three belts. To settle this fight, perhaps the WBC should simply move forward with a purse bid. We don't want to lose time by waiting around.

I would want to see Thurman or Spence take on Ennis and Ortiz Jr.

Good to see you here mate. It seems like this fight may not happen at all after Errol Spence had another car accident. He mentioned that his leg is injured although I cannot find any more news about the severity of his injury.

You know the WBC, they are up for the money and they do not want to mess with big promoters as well which means Vergil Ortiz is probably out of the picture for Thurman. The WBC might also consider a garbage interim belt while Spence is still healing.

Hopefully that's not the case because it will be a disappoint again to know that even this fight is not happening next year, I'd like to be positive and think that this fight will be delayed because of that accident. Although, I know that it's really possible because we don't know Spence's situation regarding his legs as his camp is not disclosing any information about it.

In this incident, I also do hope that Errol Spence had a lesson and should start to consider hiring his own driver rather than him behind the wheel not knowing what could happen along the way as it's already proven that he's a magnet when it comes to situations like that.

Well, if Spence is out for some months in order to heal his injury, the WBC will most likely order a fight for the WBC interim belt. Ranked number 2 after Thurman is Vergil Ortiz Jr. But Vergil Ortiz is already keen on taking Eimantas Stanionis for the WBA regular after GBP was able to beat PBC in the bidding. Ranked 3 is Jarron Ennis, in the past, this kid already requested the IBF to issue his mandatory status on Spence which means this may not happen too. Ranked 4 is Yordenis Ugas, although I like to see Ugas take at least 1 tune-up fight, he might accept right away if given the chance since Thurman is a big name that guarantees big money and is very beatable nowadays.

Jaron Ennis has already a scheduled opponent already. And I thought that it will be Stanionis, however is it Karen Chukhadzhian (not familiar with him). So it's like a cluster f**k as far as 147 lbs goes. Lots of champions and then their promotions on their side that it's hard to make any fights that we want and what the fighter want. WBA just two champions in Spence and Stanionis and I think they should be ordered to unify it themselves to have one champion because it is really confusing. I think Ugas name can be throw in the mix if fighters like Ennis wanted to have that respect or at least a fight that will make him the next candidate for any belt in any division.
1525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just how bad is the bear market right now? on: December 14, 2022, 07:30:52 PM
I don't know why some people are trying to downplay the fact that BTC went from $69K ATH to $16K as not as bad from the previous cycle's drop of $20K to $3K. Percentage may not be exactly the same but the numbers suggest it's really bad. Maybe the positive take there is that prices wouldn't have reached these low levels if not for the Do Kwon and SBF cases.

I do agree it's really that bad, just entering the first year of a bear cycle.

And next year could be worst, we could see another catastrophic event or what we call black swan. It doesn't mean that there could be another exchanges collapsing, but maybe there could be another FUD that can pull the market on the brink of another all time lows this bear cycle.

We just have to accept that fact though that Do Kwon and SBF has something to do with how the market turn out to be this 2022.
1526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: December 14, 2022, 07:09:48 PM
And this is what Yarde has to say:

Quote
“The journey has been emotional," said Yarde during an interview with Behind the Gloves. "Ups and downs, downs and ups. We're here again but this time it feels right. Last time it was like desperation. Doing the unheard of like going to Russia. This time, the opportunity has come and it feels right.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/yarde-on-beterbiev-showdown-this-time-opportunity-come-it-feels-right--171117

Yeah, I do agree that it has been a journey for him, fighting Kovalev in Russia when he doesn't have that much experience.

Now 3 years after, he will have to face Beterviev, he has the experience right now, however, I don't think that it will be enough against a hard punching in Beterviev, and probably this is the reason why no one has voted on Yarde in this community. They know that it will be tough for Yarde to overcome the champion.

It's not enough to fight someone who has beaten all of his opponents by knockout, it's a long shot for Yarde but he is just a cherry-picked fight, the real challenge for Beterbiev is Bivol, I've seen how Beterbiev seriously hurt his opponents with a barrage of punches I hope he will not suffer injuries, he should not engage and use his head to frustrate him and pile up points, we all hope that after this fight there will be a Light Heavyweight unification between Bvol and Beterbiev.

Same here, I seriously don't think that Anthony Yarde can actually give a difference on this fight against the flawless knock-out artist who don't have any matches that was finished by a way of decision or even draw. All of Beterbiev's fight ended with either a TKO or KO and whether Yarde want it or not, he will be a part of Beterbiev's record. The most interesting fight will happen right after this fight, sorry for Yarde's fans out there, I'm not underestimating your man but he's biting more than he can chew.

Yes, it will be interesting on who is Beterviev next opponent after this fight. We want Bivol, and if I'm not mistaken, Bob Arum, Beterviev's manager said that he is willing to negotiate to have this unification fight between this 2 Russian monsters.

As for Yarde, yes, I do agree that it will be hard for him to win because Beterviev is known to have knocking down all his opponents and possibility he will the next victim. Maybe he can so much experience, but it won't matter if his chin can't take the power of Beterviev.
1527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: December 14, 2022, 06:51:08 PM
Well Butler already did a great job for surviving almost 12 rounds, not many boxers can take all of Inoue's punches. Although in the scorecard Butler never win in any round, but at least he's really prepare very well to fight against Inoue. Congratulations for Inoue to become undisputed champion on Bantamweight, I think no one in this weight dare to take a challenge against Inoue lol. Inoue will move to super bantamweight and it increase the possibility if he will fight against Casimero.

If that was only his intention to survive, then  he should not fight as it will only hurt himself without a chance of winning. Inoue was a bit frustrated but his power was very evident, good thing he caught Butler in 11 rounds and knock him out. A well deserved win, no reason to stay at the current division, time for him to move up and challenge champs at weight class.

I initially thought that Butler will likely go toe to toe and test himself, but they put a conservative strategy, to run and avoid Inoue's power punches. But Inoue are intelligent, if he see his opponent keeps on running then he goes to the body shot, more devastating effect later and that is what we see on Butler as he doesn't have the gas to keep himself from running. And when Inoue feels that he can take him out then he cornered him and put that killer blows and the referee did a good job stopping it without counting the full 10 round count on Butler because obviously Paul is wincing in pain in the canvass.
1528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 14, 2022, 06:38:52 PM
After several years, it seems like the eastern conference will finally take winningest team this season. There is no sign of stopping on the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks. Although the west have New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies, the streaks of these young teams will end soon.

We love to see the Eastern conference team win it this season, maybe 60++ games win for this two team and maybe there will be another 2 teams in that same level or at least 50+ wins.

Some expected teams to perform well are still struggling to land a spot in the top 8, especially the defending champions GSW and last season's top seed in the east the Miami Heat. Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves are in the same situation too. We might see some interesting trades happening before the deadline.

GSW is a big let down but we all know that they have change their 2nd unit. Kuminga and Moody though as somewhat of a disappointed but we will see. Still a long way to go this season and maybe they can land in the top 8 or even avoid a possible play in.
1529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: December 12, 2022, 06:37:47 AM
It was funny, I didn't expect Manny Pacquiao to be that harsh fighting against a Youtuber. I know DK Yoo has experience as a martial artist but he's really more of a social media personality than a fighter. And Manny Pacquiao was going there as if he's about to face a powerful opponent. It seems Manny still hasn't unlearned his fighting instincts and forgotten for a while that what he's actually into is just an exhibition match for charity. It was good everything remained friendly though.

True, I guess once a warrior always a warrior, Manny seems to be going for a kill here, trying to knockout DK Yoo. So it's hard to unlearn what he has been doing in the ring for more than 20 years. Maybe someone in the corner or in the crowd will have to remind Manny that this is all exhibitions fights and he should not give his 100% to try and knock down a inexperienced boxer. But the good thing is that the referee is there to save DK from the onslaught of Manny and never counts the knockdown. Wonder though was will be the numbers in terms of viewership and how much they raised in this fight.
1530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 2023 on: December 12, 2022, 06:03:32 AM
This thread would have been better with a poll on the price.

I'll say what I think will happen. I don't rule out that for some reason we may test new lows in 2023, but not much more. Maybe 15 or 12,000, but the price is pretty cheap already, and most of the rubbish is gone, so we have stronger fundamentals to go up.

You mean that weak hands has been eliminated in the market? yeah, when the price hits $15k last month, our new lowest lows, chances are, the last of the weak hands have sold already that's why we wanted get over and reach $17k.

I don't think it's going to be a banner year either, as I heard some predictions of 250,000 USD. Not a chance. The normal scenario is that we go back to the 30-40,000 range, something like that, and we don't break new highs until after halving in 2024.

The best thing is just to keep calm and be patience in 2023. Well $250,000 could be out in the next bull run, maybe we just put a conservative estimates at around $100k. At least we won't be disappointed if $250,000 is not going to be touch.
1531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Brazil Fan Token Down 60% After Losing to Croatia on: December 11, 2022, 08:24:17 PM
Fans aren't happy with the result obviously so they are reacting by dumping their fan base tokens, to be honest I was also very shocked that such a great team as the Brazilians will lose to Croatian team. This world cup has been given some shocking and unexpected results.
Who would have thought Brazil won't be among the finalist instead they are taken out in the knock out stage.
At the end of the day,it is a game, it will only go one way and not both ways and this time Brazil got kicked out. The fans will have to accept things as they are, as sad as it is. I would have really love to see them at the finals.

Yes, this is like the first reaction of a country that has a huge fan based of football. This could be one of the shocking results in the World Cup but their fans should accept the lost. And others have pointed out, this is just a meme coin, so we need to be very careful as this could be used for pump and dump and this is a classic example.

As the World Cup come to an end to them, I don't think there will be any used of this token, so again another reason to dump it huge.

Nevertheless, the same with Croatian team, they have their own token if I'm not mistaken.

1532  Economy / Speculation / Re: I hope this Bitcoin dip won't be deeper? on: December 11, 2022, 01:00:55 PM
I hope that in 2022 it is the worst year after ATH, hoping that in 2023 it will continue to improve and can reach at least 50% of the ATH that has happened, if the market continues to worsen, the more people are impatient and make prices continue to decline.

We can only hope but it seems that we are still in the bearish cycle next year though.

So I doubt that we can reach at least 50% of our last all time high, on the contrary we should brace ourselves as it could be worst. I know that this is just a wild and educated guess, but maybe $10k-$13k could be with it if there is another even, a black swan that will pull the price even further.

We have experienced $15k already, and if ever there will be another lower lows, then just accept it and then we deal like just like any other previous bear cycle.
1533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 11, 2022, 12:24:29 PM
Teo is capable of knocking people out, but I don't know if he can bring his power to 140 lbs, we've seen his fight in this division though against Campa, but we all know that Campa is not in his prime. But it was a good welcome for Lopez in 140 lbs.

He left go of his hands in that fight a good indication that he is really focused more on his career after his lost to Kambosos.

So now he is back with a good and durable opponent. So yes, we shall tonight, probably most of us as waiting for this fight.
The fight was ended and Lopez win via split decision, the judges already make a good decision in this match. The first 2 round Lopez was fall for 2 times, it's not because Martin punch him, but he's force himself to punch Martin while he's too far. Lopez seems want to fight in distance, but he doesn't have enough reach to use this strategy. Lopez still winning since he punch more and few of his punch is on point to Martin's face.

I agree that Lopez wanted to fight from the distance because he is a tough dude and that is the mistake that Mickey did make when he lost to Martin. He thought that he can just used his power against Martin, but it was the other way around as Martin is solid.

Yes, the punch output of Lopez is enough for him to win in the cards of the judges. And he is the A-side in this fight, when the fight is close, maybe the judges gave it to Lopez that's why the two judges have him winning with a good lead.
1534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 11, 2022, 12:02:52 PM
They're already losing on that very last seconds of the quarter, why it feels like it's a disrespect on them? is there an unwritten rule if it's like that?

Yes, in almost the entire league in the world, there's an unwritten rule about that in basketball once the team is already a sure win, please don't make any attempt to bring down much the losing team by doing "unnecessary shots" where the game is already called.

If it happened in the Suns' home, the Pelicans will surely react the same.

It now depends on who's team will ignore that sh*t and just walk off the court without showing any reaction.
We're in the modern days now, and they should just give it as a showtime for Zion or anyone who can have that slam dunk fest.

Well, I might feel bad for them too but just give it to him. The crowd cheered for Zion when he took the flight and went in. It may be feeling bad to them but just had to accept the fact that it's already a lost.

And if ever they get along again with Pelicans, they can do the same and return it to Zion and the team.

They just have to make their revenge, Zion was just trying to show his best as a good dunker, and probably he was celebrating because they dominated the Suns who are one of the best teams in the NBA. This is personal, for sure Suns will not forget what they did and this will benefit the fans because we will see some good action once they'll face again.

Well Zion make it personal now, and moving forward, not sure if there is a still schedule between the two teams, but both teams for sure doesn't want to lose against each other. And for sure they will have to tighten their defense on Zion the next time and won't allow them to just manhandled them with dunks after dunks including that 360 to humiliate them in the end. So we will see, it makes it more interesting that there will be rivalry between the Suns and the Pels. And this time, it might bring the best of those individuals and team players.
1535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terence Crawford vs David Avanesyan December 10 on: December 11, 2022, 11:40:37 AM
With the previous six win streak via TKO by Avanesyan, didn't prove anything when he fight with Crawford, he's the one who get beaten via TKO lol. It's really one sided fight to be honest, Avanesyan's punch didn't even hurt Crawford and Crawford can control the fight until he already learn Avanesyan's strategy. The other guy e.g. Spence will high likely to win against Thurman, so we're only need to wait the big match will happen in next year.

this fight may have been like a tune-up fight of crawford for thurman or spence jr. either one of these boxers. but let's see who's next for crawford. the most anticipated fight with spence jr, should really happen while the two are still in prime. they can get a huge payout on this bout. their respective promoters should think about their boxers here.

I did watch some snippets of the fight and yeah, I would say that Crawford put a show in front of his hometown. Defense, 3 punch combinations, switching stance, and then he let David hit him in the chin to test his power. But that counter right was so fast that you can't see it, they both throw a punch simultaneously, but it was Crawford who connects perfect and David just lay down there. And when he goes back to his senses, he really didn't know where he was, he was really knock out cold literally.
Avanesyan is always covering his face that's why he cannot hit more precise punches, Crawford, on the other hand, is just doing the right timing to hit him and that made him win in the fight. The quickness of Crawford is still there, and a good ring IQ as well, this was a good fight but it's a clear mismatch.

We have discussed many times how Crawford is one of the beste boxers in 147 lbs because of his ring IQ and he proved it here. He totally control the fight and didn't give David a chance although there are times that he hit Crawford but it doesn't have any effect on his chin. So I must say that he was chin tested in this fight and passed the test.

And then that counter, looks like a straight right to me and seems to be doesn't have any power at all.

But the timing is perfect and Avanesyan didn't expect that, and then it was over for him, laying down in the canvass.
1536  Economy / Speculation / Re: How we know btc not going to 100$ ?? on: December 10, 2022, 08:30:06 PM
What guarantees we have btc not going very low like 100$ ??
Can btc go Even like 50$
Becouse everybody knows that Market Will crash hard soon very bearish out look now for btc
If today btc start falling what price is good to buy ?
It can fall to 1000$ or lower why not ? What's stop btc to fall down like 20$-50$ ?

It's because the market has been for more than 10 years and it has the consensus support of the majority here. It is a prime mover coin like Ethereum so it's very hard and unlikely to see it reaches that prices that you imagine.

Yes the market is bearish but what about the last bear market? it has all the formula, the covid-19 but still Bitcoin didn't go to $1k, instead it just went to lows of $3k and then bounce back and go for another all time high.

If you don't what to listen to history then it's your fault.
1537  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin high prediction 2023? on: December 10, 2022, 07:53:29 PM

I know we are likely to drop further in the first few months of 2023 but I am curious to know how high we all feel Bitcoin can reach later in the year before 2024?

All I can say is that there could be a good chance that we might see another all time high. Or at least reach our previous highs of $69k. So just putting that numbers around, you might still be very happy buying today and then making huge profit if we hit that price. We will have a bitcoin halving in the 1st quarter of 2024, that will be a good gauge to see where the price will be in the future as we all know that it is the catalyst for a eventual bull run. And with that,, I would say you don't need to worry, just continue to accumulate and let the normal flow of the market come in 2024, maybe it could be $100k or higher or $50k. The point is that you could still make money if you look long term.
1538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 10, 2022, 07:37:13 PM
I’m watching the Lakers vs 76ers game and man is this De’Anthony Melton kid lighting up the scoreboard. He is 8/11 from 3 point range on his way to 30 points.  I don’t think the Sixers would’ve won this game without him. A great performance for a relatively unknown player against multiple hall of famers. He’s going to be one happy guy when he gets home tonight. I’m happy for him, but would have preferred a Lakers win as they’ve been playing great lately.

I'm surprised that this game went to OT, I was watching in the 4th quarter but the Sixers already had a good lead, I'm surprised when I come back that the game was already in overtime. Still plenty of time left, but it's still the sixers who are leading in the OT period.

Lakers made a good comeback in the fourth quarter that's why it went into OT. It was wild as we thought that Sixers is going to win already, I mean 9 points down with less than a minute if I'm not mistaken then forcing an OT that could really hurt the Sixers.

The Lakers though have a chance to win if only Davis hit both free throws with 3.7 left.

But the good thing is that they keep themselves, composed and didn't let that huge comeback by the Lakers hurt the team.

Not only Davis, but Reaves could have given the Lakers a one point lead if he just make all 3 FT, unfortunately he hits 2/3. And they still have a good chance this time it was on Davis shoulder, but then again 1/2.

In the OT it was not even close, the Lakers scored their only point in OT when the game is already decided.

Pat Bev drives for a 2 point and that's it. And this could be one of the greatest comeback though if Lakers win in OT.

Could've been one of the greatest come back if they have won it, unfortunately they're still a team that's still struggling how to close out the game. Though there are improvements, but I hope they'll finally figure it out.
Their top priority this season should enter the 2023 playoffs, i believe they're a much stronger team in a 7 game series, than in a regular season games.
One thing to consider to achieve this is to keep AD healthy all throughout the season, otherwise they'll end up missing the playoffs again.

They got tired in the end that's why the comeback just fell short.

Yes, I do agree that a series is very different as they will have to face each other in at least 4x and chances are Lakers can win at least one and the rest could be very close. So they need to enter the playoff first, and as much as possible not go into a play-in because it might be different for them because against their legs might be tired. Just keep on grinding every game and try to win games and keep Davis and Lebron healthy.

The big question is? it is a sin as per your religion?

And as others have said, really depends on how you look at it or how you are being brought by your parents through your religion, Christian or Muslim. I don't know but I think Spence should start boasting about he is the king if he already managed to unite all four belts in welterweight division, still too premature for him to call himself a king because Crawford is still there and the top contenders like Ortiz Jr. and Boots Ennis are also decent especially Ennis.

I can't recall Errol Spence Jr. boasting that he is the Welterweight King or even calling himself that title.

In fact, though he is considered as PPV King, I don't remember Spence even saying he's the PPV King.

But if that's true that he is boasting a self-proclaimed status, I don't know what to think about Spence especially since there are lots of things to do in the Welterweight before he can say that he's the King at that weight division.

Regardless though of the claims, we all know that Spence Jr has the 3 belts so we can say yeah, majority of the belt is his so he could be the king of welterweight division. But still him and Crawford are the only champion unfortunately, the biggest fight in their division is not going to happen.

Hopefully we can hear that this fight is going to be official. This is ordered by the governing body already, we don't want another fight being hype and ordered and then suddenly it won't happen because of many reasons or fighters backing out in the last minute.
