1581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: November 26, 2022, 09:00:12 PM
I‘ve wondered why this sort of thing hasn’t become reality with the internet and crypto. It’s probably a good thing as this sort of inhumane behavior would likely lead to protests. However, I once thought it might be cool to have a crypto gambling site where users could bet on fish fights between Japanese fighting fish, but again, a bit inhumane even if fish are a little less evil due to them not feeling pain. This sort of thing could only bring negativity to Bitcoin, so it’s probably best it doesn’t exist.

Probably but it is thriving on fiat system, specially cockfighting, it's famous in Asia, events are online, gamblers bet. So I don't think it will make any difference or negativity to bitcoin and crypto.

Again, it really up to the society or the government to whether think this is inhumane behavior or not. And if you are a gambler but then are against this kind of cruelty, then just skip it at all.
1582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: November 26, 2022, 08:45:31 PM
-cut-
That means that oddsmakers think there is 64% chance of Davis winning while giving Garcia a 36% chance.
I will agree with these odds and bet for Tank.

Compared to Garcia, his combos and movement seem way more composed and technical, and being a southpaw doesn't hurt his changes. While Garcia seem to rely on his natural unpolished talent, and just raw aggressive fast style, using surprisingly quick and powerful attacks even as a defence. Even though those look clumsy compared to Tank, he seem to get ton of power under them somehow.

My guess is that Garcia's style of defence won't work agaisnt technically skilled combos by Tank. Garcia's aggressive style is intimidating but very much defeatable and while his height and reach seem to do add to that and give him confidence, it's all appearances and something that can be taken away fast.

If we are going to be in the technical side, I will say that Tank is more polished, but if we are talking about raw talent, Garcia could be the man here. So it's close but yeah, if the odd markers are going for Tank at 64% then could be true.

Nevertheless, Garcia has been asking for this fight years ago and in several interviews, prior to this one that he will going to beat and knock Tank Davis out. So let's see if that confidence of his will be enough when they face in the ring because he will be the underdog.

I don't feel that Garcia is the underdog because if you look at his fights, he is still very dominant just like Davis. So I view this fight as an even fight, but of course, Bookies are just doing their job so they have to make someone the favorite and the other is the underdog. Anyway, if you bet on Ryan Garcia, I think you should bet now as odds might change as the fight is getting closer.

I think it will be good if Garcia will be the betting underdog? for his backers this is a chance to win, so we will see who's going to be on top as per betting. And this is going to be interesting, not just on crypto sports bookies, but in Las Vegas wherein it is the center of all betting. We might see some whales putting big money on either side as the fight gets closer.

I have yet to hear the tune up fight for Ryan though, as compare to Tank who already has a fight in Hector Garcia in January.

There are a lot of 135 to 140 lbs that is willing to face Ryan, no doubt, but it should be a cherry pick fight, in my opinion.
1583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 26, 2022, 08:27:13 PM
Lots of LeBron talk as he’s back in the rotation for the Lakers and helped them get a win yesterday. They’ve got a rematch again today against the San Antonio Spurs, so hopefully we see more domination from Anthony Davis and LeBron is able to play in the back to back. They’re slowly starting to show some life, but I think that team has a lot of issues that will keep them from postseason success.

Yes, it seems that they again found their rhythm? like their championship years wherein both are enjoying the game. And hopefully James defy everyone at his age. Nevertheless, it will be a good matchup against the young San Antonio Spurs.

As for the Booker comment about Pat Bev, we will see, Booker somewhat looks to get himself involved in trash talking, however, I will say that they are also a choker in the playoff. He can get respected if he can win rings, other than that, he is just like the rest of the NBA who just open his mouth but then can't back it up.
1584  Economy / Gambling / Re: DraftApes - Crypto Fantasy Sports on: November 25, 2022, 02:17:47 PM
took part in the world cup contest and almost missed it apparently there were 3 stages I thought there was only 1 stage available, guessing the score not everyone will always guess correctly but luck is also needed because there are always many surprises in this world cup  Wink

Right, it's really hard to predict winners in every games or stages.

There are a lot of surprises as well, and just like in the NBA games, I compare this to parlay betting wherein you have to exactly predict the winner or handicap. And it's very hard if you are like looking to get 3 wins in a row.

Definitely, luck is needed to win this kind of prediction games. At least your try it mate, as we have a new crypto fantasy sports in the market.
1585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum keep its leadership in the crypto smart contract industry? on: November 25, 2022, 02:02:04 PM
The Ethereum blockchain is currently the most used blockchain when it comes to Smart contract, NFT and Metaverse development. It achieved its leadership while it was still a decentralized network.

Unfortunately, right after the merge, Ethereum lost its decentralized feature and is now one of the most centralized cryptocurrency projects in the industry.

Given that we're going through a debate opposing Centralized vs Decentralized, do you think that Ethereum will still keep ahead of the competition? Aren't there a lot of chances of Ethereum being overcome by an alternative decentralized network?

What is your take on this matter?

We haven't heard anyone yet to challenge Ethereum when it did the merging. However, in the past there have been a lot of potential takeover from other projects, but it didn't materialized and Ethereum remains on the top of the food chain.

And with that premise, if the project before who are so strong and put up a good challenge didn't win, so what make it any difference as of today despite their merger? So I believed that Ethereum will continue it's dominance as far as Smart contract and NFT and Metaverse development.
1586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 25, 2022, 01:30:51 PM
It was surely a sad blow for the Kings but it happens, and even though their winning streak was halted there is a huge chance they can get into the playoffs, but this is really just an assumption because knowing the Sacramento Kings now, but before that 7 winning streaks at 1st they had a 4 losing streak, on the start of the season, but they are making progress in their play so let's just wait in what they will do next,
Just getting to the playoffs would be their best performance this season and surely they will gonna be torn against their opponents in their western conference because the Sacramento Kings this season is like the Memphis last season, even though there aren't any superstars in the team, they can surpass other teams that haven't played well even though they have all the necessary players to win a championship. If they can continue winning at such a rate, obviously their spot in the playoff tree will be guaranteed for sure.
If they continue playing as a team the playoff appearance won't be hard for them, we are seeing a different chemistry that being
established among the players.

The progress is really great with this newly form squad, same with what I see from the Jazz they are surprising the league after
beating teams that highly favorites.

Both teams need to continue the chase and perform to keep winning games.

Kings' winning streak has been interrupted. Honestly, they had been on a really consistent winning streak so far till the last match. And I do not think that they are about to even think about missing the playoffs. The type of performance that they were able to show is enough to give them a lot of confidence. Right now I bet they are not even thinking about missing the playoffs.

Jazz have lost two matches in a row. Before that, they were showing positive performances. I know some of the matches they've played have been really close. But they did get the result in their favor. From the next game on, I hope they will be able to perform better.

We will see, as you have said, Jazz is one team that surprises us all in the West, but now they are on a 2 game losing skid. Sacramento on the other hand, lost against Trae Young. Although they have been dominated, they try to make a comeback in that game but they just fell short.

Probably need a win in their home court so get back the confidence because it will be just a waste if they started to lose after having a good start.

So this is a mind game for the team, both of them, they have to look at it one game at a time.
1587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Running a casino during crypto crash on: November 25, 2022, 01:06:47 PM
We need transparency during this situation to have an assurance that our funds will still be safe and the casino will be able to pay their players accordingly but I don't think they could easily provide financial statements that easily.
They wouldn't provide it, that thing could even be used against them if someone tries to put pressure on them.

That's a sensitive document that they won't let someone see it. Even you're an avid customer of them, they just can't unless in some cases they'll allow it and you're one of their most loyal and biggest gambler that has wagered a lot to them.

If that's the case, it will be bettee if we'll look for a more reliable casino site in which we'll have a better assurance that it would have a stronger foundation against the bearish season.
This is what everyone can do. Look for one that you trust whether they will show you records and reports or not.

Play on the casino that you truly trust, even they are not showing their bankroll but they are facilitating it right and you don't see major problem in terms of withdrawals, there are many established casino sites that you can choose around, they are not showing their funds but they don't have complaints that really affects the business.

Though complaints are always presents from every side, but as long as the site is good at working on it and try to address the problem, gamblers will keep coming back and play.

Probably the big question is that, we do have whales here that they might see issue with the casino that they are playing because they are not showing proof of reserves.

I'm not ordinary gambler, not risking huge amount of money and so I was paid by casino's that I played instantly. But if we hear the thoughts of whales, who's betting 5,6 or even 7,8 figures, they might fine it hard and probably asked questions about the casino that they are playing. But this is just my thoughts. And so it all boils down as whether you trust your favorite casinos or not.

1589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cloud mining on: November 24, 2022, 03:02:29 AM
As others have said, cloud mining is dead, specially in this bear market, I don't think that you will make a profit and you don't want to fall for scam cloud mining as there have been a lot in recent years.

So the best thing to do is to stay away from cloud mining, it's no longer profitable as when in 2018.

Might be better for you to just invest your money on solid altcoins and then hold for the long term. At least the risk is that that huge as compare to looking for cloud mining as passive income, in my opinion.
1590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: November 24, 2022, 02:15:21 AM
Well here is something to rescue, and it is that Manny Pacquiao is a very good boxer and this fight is clearly an exhibition fight, obviously it is fixed, I am not one of those who like to watch exhibition fights, but Pacquiao will be there, and that changes everything , when there are exhibition fights I don't even see them, it would be practically the first time that I go to see a fight like that, because I always like the real thing, when there is rivalry and they fight for a title or for the defense of a title, that is what moves us all and that good bets can be made, that is another thing that I like about boxing.

Also boxers who are in exhibition fights should feel calm ´because they will see it as something that will be beneficial for another person, I think this is what I like the most.

Exhibition fights are obviously for entertainment purposes + getting some money without compromising or affecting someones statistics since its not official. It would really be that obvious that there would be no

betting lines or odds for this one considering that results or outcome would really be that too obvious on whose gonna win. Some do say about being beneficial for DK since
he had an opponent which is really that popular which it would really boost up his popularity too.

Lets just enjoy on what would really be they tend to show about. Tongue

Or probably there are fans that are not going to bet on this one, and to be honest I haven't put a bet on exhibitions fight even if there are odds. As you have said, the purpose is to just entertain us so no need to put money on line as we might get nervous watching the fight, Lol.

But I have nothing against those fans who love to put some bet here, watching and then enjoying it at the same time.

Obviously though if there is a line that is open already, Manny is the outstanding favorite here.
1591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: November 24, 2022, 01:37:06 AM
I don't know about you, but this fight has had a different tint again, I know that many were 100% with Inoue, but I have read in some other forums that they are only about boxing that they have a lot of hope about Butler, I don't know, it is speculated that it is because of the type of preparation and training that he has taken and this has made people begin to consider their bets, this is something that does not seem bad to me, because I know that despite all this speculation the numbers will be very favor of Inoue, and looking at it from a technical point of view, Inoue is very good, but the surprise factor is that which sometimes surprises us and since there is so much money involved, things can change.

Not sure who are rooting for Butler against the Monster here, but maybe they are just looking for that huge odds and of course the money that they are going to win if Butler put an upset.

But if you have followed boxing, and not read on some other forums that Butler is this and Butler is that. We should know by now how dangerous Naoya is, we thought that Donaire has a chance against Naoya and yet he destroyed him in 2 rounds. So I bet those who are saying in other forums that Butler has a chance is the same individuals who think that Nonito has a good chance as well, just saying.
1592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The origins of Slot games on: November 24, 2022, 01:13:00 AM
Slot machines are practically the “furniture” that can be found in any Casino anywhere in the world. Slot games are said to have been invented around 1871 in San Francisco.

I think the popularity of slot machines is due to their simple mechanics to implement and play, it's a captivating game that anyone can play... in the "simplest" mode, just pull a lever.

Just for the record though, most updated slot machines doesn't have a lever anymore.

But there are still some, and yeah the experience is  very much different as compare to like pushing the buttons today.

Not to mention that the lack of a person to control the game was also very profitable for the casinos in the beginning, which could place several machines without having to hire a single employee.

That was in the beginning, but now with the huge success of slot machines, this has become a niche, there are a lot of competing companies producing better slot machine experience every year and with that lot of personnel to hire for maintenance and obviously to code the game itself.
1593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We can’t vote our way to freedom, but we can build our way to freedom on: November 24, 2022, 12:27:13 AM
Bitcoin is an unstoppable force against the enslaving fiat system. This is why I own Bitcoin. But it makes me wonder; what else can we replace with a technology that is permissionless and immutable?

BTC or at least some crypto as the first, so I doubt that there will be another technology that can replicate what BTC has done to us. And it just shows how brilliance Satoshi is, when he created BTC to be used by everyone.

I have seen people trying to build apps that could replace politicians from deciding how our taxes are distributed, but perhaps they have the same centralized failures that DigiCash had before Bitcoin.

Maybe Bitcoin is all we really need. "Fix the money, fix the world".

Although I will say that bitcoin is not a magic bean that will solve any of our problems. Just used it as how it was designed and we are good to go in the next 10 years or so.
1594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: November 21, 2022, 09:46:13 AM
If he will win this fight that means he is back and people will feel his presence. If he wasn't disqualified, he is still a champion now, so it's still like Casimero the champion here, and fighting a challenger. Though it's a new division, I think Casimero is more comfortable here and he will have an impressive win for his comeback.

Who are betting here for Casimero to KO his opponent in less than 6 rounds?

He can win this one if he did some extensive training that will gonna give him a more comfortable easy fight as soon as he steps in the ring, He needs to do it right this time not showing any negativity because so far, he hasn't even got a good fight after disqualifications any other reasons. We know how cocky Casimero is but he only does that for promotions and to gain some fans he is doing it wrong and the result is not really good when it comes to getting what he wants in the boxing industry. This time he should try to be professional if he wants some changes in his career.

Love him or hate him, that is the character that Casimero wanted to portray in his boxing career. But the good thing is that he can back up his words because we have seen him knocking out his opponent, and so he remain very cocky.

And with that, and as we have seen lately, he still calls Inoue and perhaps that his dream fight because they should have face at 118 lbs, but not going to happen. But at least we still have a chance to see them in the ring when they go up to 122 lbs. This is just one step of Casimero and I think he can win this fight and not surprised if he will knock out his opponent.
1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: November 21, 2022, 12:49:55 AM
@Yaunfitda. Agreed. They might not be the champions and the kings of their weight divisions, however, they have the biggest names. This is very much similar to Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz in the UFC, I reckon. It can also be argued that this fight might be as big or bigger than Spence vs. Crawford in excitement and expectation for the fans.

Yeah, they might not be champions but this is what hard core fans of this sweet science is longing for as well as the ordinary fans, they want to see toe to toe actions which for me this fight if pushes through could deliver the actions. I reckon that this is an even match, though Davis is the experienced fighter but Garcia has the size advantage that if used well could make life hard for Davis.

I just hope though that this would push through this time and not just hype on social media and end up like the Spence vs Crawford negotiation.

True, no belts, at least the regular one and yet this is one of the most anticipated fight, everyone is waiting for this, just like when we are all excited by the Spence vs Crawford fight. And I do agree that this is a 50:50 fight in my book, as Tank and Ryan possesses power in this division, the fight is going to be made in a catchweight of 136 lbs. As Ryan said he can't make it to 135 lbs no more and if I'm not mistaken he fought Tagoe at a catchweight at well. While Garcia fought at 135 lbs against Rolly Romero, he has a experience fighting at 140 lbs against Barrios.

Meaning, this might be Ryan Garcia's last fight in lightweight division because he cannot be fighting always on a catchweight until he will reach Devin Haney. One last dance just to fight Gervonta Davis, and if Ryan Garcia will win, he will eventually vacate that regular belt because as time go by he cannot achieve the weight needed in lightweight anymore. But that is still a challenge because Davis might not have the size but he have the ring IQ because of his experience he attained throughout the years, still a very interesting fight.

That's probably what he is thinking that's why he keep on pushing for a Tank Davis fight at 135 or 136 lbs catchweight because that could be very well his last fight at his division and what a better way to fight Tank.

For the record though, Davis doesn't have the regular belts, all the belts in with Haney. So whatever belt that will be put in line, it's nothing. This fight is probably for the money, these 2 are superstars in this division, the cash cow, not Haney, not Loma. And that is why fans are already hype as early when they hear the news that finally this fight is going to happen next year.
1596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 20, 2022, 09:09:29 AM
The number 1 and number 2 seed of the West is playing right now.
Despite Utah Jazz playing back-to-back games they still look energetic and are in a good lead against the Portland Trail Blazers.

I am amazed though how big of a change these Trail Blazers become. The addition of Jerami Grant is a game-changer and so does their rookie Shaedon Sharpe who has been stepping up his game whenever he is given more minutes.
Now Dame will just need to be healthy all season long to preserve their winning momentum. Their bench is deep but it's still better if he is present.

And the Jazz won again, and their 2 best players is Clarkson and and Markkanen, again this Jazz really surprises us all in the West as they are top.

Unfortunately, initially reports says that Dame might have reinjured himself again, aggravated that calf muscle that has been bothering him. So this is a bad news for the TrailBlazers whose also a revelation this season. They might have to play again without him for the next weeks and see how serious his injury is. Hopefully it is not and that he just needed some rest to be able to recuperate.

Jazz knows how to win. Jordan Clarkson, Lauri Markkanen and Malik Beasley managed to beat Portland comfortably with their points. I think it was a comfortable game because they were always superior in all periods except the first period. At Portland, their contribution to the basket was split among many players, but they never took the lead in the game. I agree with you about the injury and I think they should go on without it. I hope it doesn't turn out as we expected and he gets better soon.

Yes, that three is now making a killing in Utah, I thought that Clarkson will be traded as well, but it seems he settled down very quick as the go to guy for the Jazz. And with the acquisition of  Lauri Markkanen, they have turned into a great contender. But we will have to wait, the old Jazz team choke in the playoff, so we will see if the same will happen with the Jordan Clarkson lead Utah Jazz now. Hope that Lilard will come back, don't what to see him down again with the same injury.
1597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: November 20, 2022, 08:14:08 AM
I also voted for Beterviev to win this fight by KO/TKO. No offense to Yarde, but I don't think him and Beterviev is on the same level. Yes Beterviev is 37 years old but this dude is one scary boxer. So I wouldn't be surprised if he wins by KO/TKO here and Yarde's chin not holding up against Beterviev's power.

Yarde might give some test on Beterviev early on, but when Beterviev got his groove and combination, he will be hard to stop as he throw everything with bad intent.

And probably sports bookies will favor Beterviev by a huge margin as far as the odds.
1598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Solana rise again? on: November 19, 2022, 08:47:00 PM
I think Solana still have hope. Infact some Crypto-currency enthusiast I respect so much are seeing this as an opportunity, well don't get your guard down make sure you do your own research. I think Solana what greatly involved in FTX exchange and what is experiencing right now is a mixture of the already poor market and the events unfolding on FTX exchange.

Well that's what everyone is saying, or at least the people behind involved in a project that goes down. The thing with Solana is that there have been a lot of negative news, like Hacks and then the whole FTX in which their name is being drag.

I think Solana has a large community and since it's not an official coin of the FTX exchange it can definitely bounce back, generally coins in the crypto space now aren't having the best of times.

And that big community as well will tilt the balance in the other side if they see that Solana is a big risk to put their money right now.
1599  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions, predictions, predictions... on: November 19, 2022, 08:30:02 PM
I predict that a lot of users who think they own Bitcoin on exchanges are going to be very unhappy to discover they don’t. Exchanges are playing hot potato with user funds trying to provide proof of reserves while in reality they’ve sold you Bitcoin IOUs and likely aren’t holding anywhere near the BTC they’ve sold you. If you haven’t taken your funds off an exchange yet and you’re reading this, mentally prepare yourself for a total loss, because it’s coming.

I think we all have been reminded that we should take our crypto or bitcoin out of exchange, the whole landscape has been changing since the collapse of FTX.

And exchanges now are hard pressed to proved that they have the assets to cover, like what Binance and CZ did. But still not an assurance that everything is well. Meaning that we are still in a volatile position right now and the price will blew off again if there will be a big negative news coming in this bear market. So there is still a big possibility that $10k can be hit in my opinion.
1600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 19, 2022, 08:04:36 PM
On the other hand Dwight Howard was having fun in a Taiwan Basket League. He did a great job entertaining the crowd. I guess that was a sold out arena, all because of him.
It's just funny how he took more 3s in that game than in his whole career in the NBA. Not a bad thing though, as he is exploring to expand his range.

I was very surprised by the news when I first heard it. Dwight Howard could still find a place in many NBA teams, but I don't understand why no team signed him. In Taiwan, it's like a one man show. He's having fun and entertaining, and he's got a good contract. Normally, although there is an upper limit in the Taiwan League, a special law has been enacted for him and he is provided with a higher salary.
I wonder what will happen to Carmelo Anthony. He may be a good bench player, but for some reason no team is willing to do so. There are also claims that he can go to one of the European leagues. Personally, I would love to continue watching him in the NBA.

Definitely, we still want to see Carmelo in the NBA, although he is no longer in his prime, but he can still contribute just like what he did with the Lakers last season, he had games wherein he score 20++ points.

So it really up to him, to stay and wait if there will be an offer. Still hoping though that the Knicks will give him a second chance. I thought that he will play with them this season but it didn't go. But yeah, maybe after the all star break when body has been bruises, some team might find Carmelo, and be uses as coming from the bench players.
