1541  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are the chances of FTX raising funds... on: December 09, 2022, 08:26:25 PM
FTX has officially registered bankruptcy and the court provides time to find investors or sponsors who will finance FTX, of course it is not easy to find investors who need at least $ 5 billion, they prefer to build new projects rather than having to finance FTX which will be difficult to get a second life.
$5 billion dollars is a pretty big number. In fact, many previously developed projects never found investors until as much as $5 billion was raised. This is something that is difficult for FTX to overcome. Maybe the solution is for them to transfer the ownership status of the company to another party. If this method is carried out, of course many people will be willing to offer their company. But if they are waiting for new investors under the pretext of profit sharing, investors feel unsure, or doubt the sustainability of the FTX company.

but there are ready to give billions in aids like justin sun as per this article . also from OKX and Tether group, claiming to have raised $1B each from these companies. so he has already $3B, don't know now the current status of their raising funds. if they can raise $3B from just 3 companies, they would surely get the remaining from other small investors.

Until now there has been no official news that the collection will be used by FTX, I also hear the news that Binance also prepared $ 2 billion to help FTX, although this looks difficult but we really hope that FTX can recover, making the market rise immediately. But I'm sure they will think again to save FTX which already have a bad reputation.

Binance is out of the picture already, they are not willing to help FTX because it will be a disaster for them.

US congress is now looking to have a hearing from the man himself, SBF but it seems that he doesn't want to cooperate and says that he will do it if he has all the data in front of him. Not sure if this will sit well with the congressman because he seems to be defiant and well connected to those politicians as high as the US president because he is a huge donor of him.
1542  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Chips.gg Scammer !! on: December 09, 2022, 07:46:58 PM
I was abusing Rollbit, which is the same infrastructure but another site, and said that they would delete all my wins from his account and close my membership.
What a lame excuse  Huh, even if indeed you abused rollbit, how is this their business? Is chips.gg connected to rollbit in anyway?

And again, if they are going to close an account of a user, aren't they supposed to pay the user all his money before closing the account?
Indeed, In a city where there is no law or the law isn't enforced, people and businesses gain the freedom to do and behave in what ever way they please..

Unfortunately, I don't think chips.gg have an active community on this forum, what I would advice you do is to do some research and see if you can find any authority governing them so you can report this case, this is an outright fraud and shouldn't be condoned.

They already said no, they are not connected in any to Rollbit.

Chips.gg has given their reason above already, it's on their decision whether to closed an account and return the money to the player if they suspected that something is not right, although this is still open for interpretation.

Anyway, I'm not going to side on this one, just wait for the community to decide.
1543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 09, 2022, 07:33:01 PM
Honestly Jerami Grant wasn't very focused on Jamal Murray, when Jamal Murray made the move he was going to the right if he hadn't followed that move and stayed static in the same position he would have managed to make Jamal Murray miss the 3 points, but Jerami Grant fell into the murray trap and with that it was too late to prevent the ball from being released

It was a good defense but a better offense by Jamal Murray. If Grant was static, Jamal does not need to step back and make a difficult shot. He could have just shot straight up on his first move, and I am sure that is a higher percentage shot than a step-back 3-pointer. Not just because you have the advantage of hindsight does not mean you can say that he defended better if he did not move. Jamal Murray is a high-IQ player; I am sure he would react and shoot differently if the defender reacted differently in that situation.

I agree, it was just a better offense by Jamal Murray, he pulled that kind of move, it's really hard to guard that specially that step back 3-pointer because you created a good distance from the defender. Jeremi Grant try to prevent him from going right, but then Murray shift let and still Grant is in front of him, but that step back was the killer, the dagger. I don't think we can blame Grant in this situation, as you have said, he is a high IQ player, it's that Murray is a better offensive player that can read the defense being put to him.
1544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Mercito Gesta (January) on: December 09, 2022, 01:32:17 PM
I learned that this fight will be contested at 135 lbs. and not a catchweight, which is kind of confusing because Davis and Garcia agreed on a 136 lbs. catchweight fight. Please someone explain to me about this because it got me confused. Did Ryan Garcia predicted that he will be having a hard time on his weight on the later date and not with against Gesta this January?

Yes, I do agree with your confusion, Ryan said that he can't make the 135 lbs weight limit and now suddenly he is going to have a tune up against a dangerous Filipino in that weight?

His last two fight if I'm not mistaken is above this weight and it a catch weight fight. With this fight against Davis, he is giving so much to Tank all advantage is with Davis, including the weight. So hopefully Garcia can win here without any problems.

This will be to test his stamina at this weight class, if he can defeat Gesta without a problem, then that would say that he is 100% ready to face Tank Davis. I know that it's one of the most anticipated fight next year, so hopefully Garcia will not take this "tune up" fight for granted. It's the dedication to fight and the will to win will be the key for the winner of the fight, and I believe Gesta will take it as the biggest fight of his life, hence he will not let this opportunity slip.

Yeah, probably they've chosen Gesta because of his style, very wild and they is also a lefty similar to Tank Davis, not sure about the height but probably almost the same height as well. So he is fighting a similar type of boxer like Tank so let's see how Garcia will take care of him.

I do agree, Gesta has nothing to lost and again, his comeback fight after so many years, so he is a bit rusty.

Nevertheless, a opportunity for him to face the likes of Ryan Garcia so that is enough for him before he quit boxing for good, earn decent money.
1545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: December 09, 2022, 01:08:45 PM
ChatGPT is all the rage at the moment. I’ve seen that people are asking it to predict sporting events. Would you leave gambling decisions up to artificial intelligence?

Definitely not, I will not blindly trust an AI to make sports prediction for me as I have my own decision who to bet on certain sports. Maybe I will try to ask, and see if we have the same prediction. And that's where the fun is, you have to analyze and believed in yourself that you will win.

Do you see any potential drawbacks for outsourcing your bets to a software program? Has anyone here tried this yet? Do we need someone to put together a thread of ChatGPT predictions to see how accurate they are?  Any other thoughts?

I think this thread will be good for all things related to ChatGPT.

For the drawbacks, again, their will be no challenge for us if we will based on this AI to make predictions for us.
1546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: airdrops campaign on gleam and other platforms. on: December 08, 2022, 09:57:49 PM
just think when we Reach the limit of Telegram channels And groups or discord servers we cannot join channels, groups or servers on discord or Telegram . So when we participating for Airdrops campaigns we've to add another Telegram or discord account to  Gleam and other platforms usually .

So adding another account  and disconnecting current discord or telegram account is a reason to be disqualified for ongoing Airdrops? ( Which we participated with current discord or telegram account ) I mean is that a trouble making option to previous Airdrops we have participate before linking new discord and Telegram account?

could anyone give me a better answer please. thank you all.

Probably some projects have limit as to how many members they can accommodate on a telegram or discord channel. But it doesn't make sense because they want to spread the news of their project to as many as they can.

But perhaps they don't want to be taken advantage as well with their airdops and cannot participate anyone.

Anyhow, not sure if airdrops is still worth this 2022 though, just asking because it seems that the airdrop hype is gone and projects are no longer giving participants good amount of it. Or the value is not worth anymore as compare to like 2017 or early 2018.
1547  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Is Approaching $17000 on: December 08, 2022, 09:43:14 PM
For the end of this year we may not be served by a significant increase but buying demand is slightly stronger but not too strong. However, market movements that occur can trigger a good reaction in the current situation. slowly but surely maybe that's the term that describes the closing price of btc at the end of this year. some of the negative news that happened in the crypto industry this year was quite a big impact on the market situation so we must need patience to see a significant increase.

At the time I am writing this post, BTC is trading at $17200 and we will probably jump $17500 before this week. the bullshit moment that's happening is the buying that's happening right now, we expect the big whales to be able to make some big purchases to push for a bullish finish to the end of the year.
The movement towards the end of the end is marked as strengthening even though it hasn't increased significantly, but the $17k support area might last before reaching $20k, I really hope that the year-end closing price strengthens above $20k but the market potential has not improved and is very vulnerable to being affected by FUD news. We will see the market reaction at the end of the first quarter in 2023.

$20k is still the next big test that we need to hurdle. Unfortunately because there was a FTX fiasco that really affected us, then the price goes down hard to $15k.

But at least we should all be thankful that once everything has settled down, we are back to $17k++ and that is still a good news for us to see that price going to next year. Expect though that next year might be tougher that 2023, there could be another lower lows in the horizon.

The same strategy though, never panic but instead buy if the price goes again next year, just saying.
1548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: December 08, 2022, 09:13:04 PM

I really don't think there is drama here, everything is very clear, Butler is a boxer who doesn't talk much, Inoue is a very focused boxer, I don't know if he really cares about getting more fame or not, I've always seen him in a very calm and somewhat respectful way, this type of boxer are the ones who have the most discipline and the ones who make the most effort to do their job well, and it is for them that they get all my admiration and well, in addition to this it shows in the ring that does everything well, because Casimero wants to go against him, that's like counting the eggs before they are born, this fight will be very interesting.

There's no drama here because it's a complete mismatch. Although Butler is still a champion but compared to Inoue, I don't see him being a threat to Inoue who always wants to finish the fight early. Butler's power is way below the power of Inoue, and in terms of quickness, Inoue still has the edge. Now, if Butler wants to have a shot, he should be smart and find a strategy to beat Inoue.

Inoue is a silent type of fighter. Maybe Butler knows how to do some trash talking but he better stay silent too because he is facing the world's best fighter at the moment.

I also do not know how Butler can beat Inoue. Of course, he should stay smart but the problem is, Inoue is smarter than him, has quicker footwork, faster hand speed, and is gifted with monstrous power in both hands. Inoue also proved his chin is hard since he stayed on his feet after receiving powerful bombs from Donaire in their first encounter.

Trash talk is normal when there's a upcoming match and its just butler do that for marketing purposes, he maybe want to get in the head of Inoue to destroy his focus that's why he do that. But this is so hard for him knowing how difficult to defeat this Japanese monster which is still on his prime. Butler need to focus to solidify his body knowing Inoue have solid punch which can knock out any of his opponent.

Well you can trash talk your way with you are the bigger puncher in the fight. But in this case what will be Butler's advantage? Will he tell that he will beat Inoue or knock him out when no one has done that before?

For me it's better for Butler not to talk trash as it might motivate Inoue more to look for an early knock out to shut his mouth. Just try to give the best out of this fight.
1549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 08, 2022, 08:40:29 PM
Still a shock to me that we are seeing Utah playing the way they can. I honestly expected them to be the type of team that would start 2-20 and then finish the season with like 20-62 type of results, or 24-58 whatever, like not more than 30 wins at all. By the looks of it they are on the path to do that. Is this good? Or is this actually bad for them?

We cannot know because we think it is possible that they should be losing a lot more and that would be better for them because of draft picks. If they keep winning, they won't have a high draft pick chance and that is not actually that great, it was not really possible for them to get better in the long run this way.

Obviously this is good news and we might say that the trade they made was worth it.

Because when we thought that they are going to tank, the team responded with a good run and one of the biggest surprised this season. But then again they have history of choking in the playoff so we will see if the new team is not just a fluke. They need to start proving themselves in the playoff because that's where teams are tested. They just have to keep the fire burning inside of them and be motivated to prove everyone is wrong.

1551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: December 05, 2022, 10:06:14 AM

Garcia vs Davis, will divide the fans, but just like bookies sees this fight, I think Davis has more believers that he would win the fight.

Really hard to see who will win because both have a knockout punch, but as per the bookies, I'm seeing that they will put Tank as favorite. And if this is the case, for Ryan, he should proved them wrong by winning this fight.

After this fight one of them is not undefeated anymore, and I believe that Ryan Garcia will give Tank Davis a good fight. He keeps challenging great champions, now it's his time to shine, beating Tank Davis will make his ranking skyrocket and he will definitely earn more big fights ahead.

Yeah, that is the aim of Ryan Garcia and his target has been Davis in this division. He could have look for Teo Lopez before, when he had the belt, but he didn't call him out, instead he is laser focused on defeating Tank Davis.

Davis as well, he didn't fight Teo or Loma so both don't have real belts to begin with.

It's that they are hype, and on the business side, there are money to be made that's why this is the best fight for them. Definitely, someone's 0 will have to go and no longer undefeated.
1552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 05, 2022, 06:08:35 AM

That's the best game of Davis so far this season, Dropping 55 points is already impressive, but adding 17 rebounds? come on, this guy was possessed, he will be playing like this, Lakers will likely win the NBA Finals again.

I haven't seen their game today but I watch the highlights and it is as if Davis has become his old self again he is completely outscoring his rival in that game and Porzingis cannot stop him from scoring in the paint as well. The thing is, he always gets a good feed from his teammates especially when he is close to the basket. Most likely if they played such a high-level performance, there's no problem with them climbing to the playoff tree and competing in the NBA playoffs this season, and with this another win, they climb up to number 12 in the western conference.

Right, it seems that Davis has found his second wind in his career, although he is still young, he seems to be damage and prone to injury.

But in the last 10 games, he has rejuvenated his career even has a string of 30+ points and 10+ rebounds. Now he has 55 points with 17 boards. We haven't seen the numbers for a big man for years. Not sure Dwight Howard did it the last time or Shaq, but definitely, in the last couple of seasons, this number is unheard of. Now they are slowly climbing up in ranks so that is a good thing to see for the Lakers  But they still need to at least go number 8 before the all star break.
1553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vision on: December 04, 2022, 09:48:52 PM
Within 20 years, its financial status and role exceeded that of gold, and it became the most important international currency in the world within 50 years. To me, these two things are about as certain as the Earth will still be orbiting the sun in 50 years。

Not sure where you get this statement though, I don't think that bitcoin will exceed gold in the next 50 years. I know that it has been compared many times already even in this community and it's more evident way back in 2017 when we are about to hit the bull run.

But then again do we really need to compare the two assets?

Let bitcoin run it's course in the next 20 or 50 years and see how it does as an assets to us enthusiast. We don't need it to balance it against gold or any other assets or commodities that we have right now.
1554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The goodness of long-term investing in cryptocurrency on: December 04, 2022, 09:08:13 PM
* Not Risky

Maybe a better term is "less risky". Although we do know how volatile cryptocurrencies are compared to stocks, forex, gold, and real estate, at least responsible long-term investments negate the effects of constant ups and downs in the market. But I will never call long-term cryptocurrency investing not risky. If it is not risky at all then there is no need to create tips like watching its volatility and investing only a portion we can afford to lose. If there is no risk, then we can just all-in invest all our funds allocated for long-term goals.

Yes, that should be the correct term, every investment has risk involved, and so much with crypto because of it's volatility as compare to stocks and other assets. The thing with crypto though is that it's cyclical, meaning that every 4 years we might see a good returns on our investments.

And long term? it could be defined as 1 year or 4 year or 10 year hold, so it's really up to the individuals on how he/she will look at what long term investment mean.

For the criteria for altcoins, it's going to be difficult as we can see even one of the biggest FTC collapses.
1555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fury v Chisora 3 3rd of December on: December 04, 2022, 08:40:50 PM
So Fury won, stop him in the 10th round.

I know that it didn't get the needed attention for this fight as Fury has beaten Chisora already.

Another classic performance by the gypsy king, it was a total beating, he just teed off on Chisora, as he has no answer to Fury's barrage and jab. And maybe Fury just masterfully extended the fight because he said during post interview that he needed some rounds

I didn't watch this trash fight but judging by the text broadcast I read later, Fury was trying very hard not to knock Chisora out from the early rounds. To be honest, I don’t understand why it was necessary to hold this shameful fight, and I would be interested to know what the audience who paid real money for a ticket and ended up seeing a farce think about it (even if they knew about it in advance).

If I'm not mistaken, it was a sold out arena again because obviously it was Tyson Fury.

So many pay to watch his fight regardless of who is he going to face or if it is mismatch as Fury knows how to sell this fight. Just like when he confronted Usyk, the crowd went into frenzy.

But it was just like a sparring season for him, just trying to shake that rust early that's why he didn't go for the knockout early and probably the respect he had with Chisora though.
1556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 04, 2022, 08:27:26 PM
The Nuggets vs Pelicans game today should be a good one. I’m not seeing any televised games today.

Yes, the game will start soon, both teams are great but I will give it to the Pels as they are going to play at their homecourt.

The story of the season so far for me is the Beam in Sacramento that they light after wins. “Light the beam” is the saying that people in Sacramento love to say now. It’s an awesome gimmick and I’m jealous my hometown doesn’t have something like that when our team wins games. I love it. Last night win another win the beam was indeed lit again.

Thanks for this, I mean maybe Sacramento is really happy with the way the team is doing right now. It is not expected that they will be hot this season winning games with huge margin. But it seems it's a perfect system that they are playing, specially Sabonis who now is a good fit and the adjustment that their coach made for him. It's just like he is still with the Pacers, but this time, he is more versatile and has matured a lot with his role with the Kings.
1557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Estrada vs Chocolatito - Trilogy - Dec 3, 2022 on: December 04, 2022, 08:14:05 PM
I knew it! I should have bet on Estrada but then, I slept and when I wake up the fight was over.  I haven't watched the fight since I am sleeping, the first time I search on the result, a review said that the match decision is still controversial, a majority decision for Estrada.  I wonder what is the controversial there, I heard Estrada had dominate the 1st to 5th round, that alone can impress the judges making their succeeding scoring biased, since Estrada had established his dominance, so a little effort from Estrada can gain the judge favor each round.  I think this should have been a unanimous decision in favor of Estrada.

Btw, the way fans react to the decision, do you think there will be another match for the two?

Not sure if Estrada is willing for another fight, but who knows, if there is money on the line then maybe in the future they can still fight. Still very close though, and it's debatable as this standpoint, so we can still say that the decision is controversial specially that there is one judge who see the fight at 114-114. So I don't see any dominance on Estrada win here, he wanted a knockout in as he said before the fight. If he did then maybe there is no doubt that we don't need a 4th fight.

If I'm not mistaken, there is someone who voted for Estrada to win, and if he really did bet on him then for sure it was a good win.
1558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you guys think dash2trade is a worthwhile project to invest in? on: December 03, 2022, 08:24:35 PM
Recently, I found dash2trader on coinsniper. The project seems to have good support, and the attention on twitter is about 42K. The time to create an account is not very long. At present, the project is mainly used as a monitoring platform to provide strategic support for investors in the pre-sale stage. The community on telegram would like to invite everyone to discuss whether it is worth investing in. The official website is https://dash2trade.com/
The fact it has attention to twitter at this point is a bad sign in overall. It either means that people are paid to tweet about it and are about to sell their reward tokens as soon as they can, or there are more people looking for referrals or people are desperate to create hype so they can sell their tokens once they are in the free market.

Also as a rule of thumb: anyone who funds their project trough lbank and bitmart are new in here and don't know what they are doing.

And then there is this: Scam accusation link

Yes and it's all over google as well, when I try to search for like the next hype, this Dash2Trade suddenly pops up.

But I didn't do my research because I was not interested on it though, but thanks to this link, it seems that it save me precious time to research it myself. So it's a hype project nothing more, nothing less and then there is this scam accusation, so not really looking good for this project. Or maybe the OP is shilling for it?
1559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can crypto exchagnes regain users trust with PoR? on: December 03, 2022, 07:31:36 PM
Indeed, when viewed from the point of view of Proof of Reserves, it is to give more confidence to investors and their customers so that they believe that this exchange still has reserve funds.  This seems to be a very effective way of letting clients know more about the exchanges they trade on

How about new exchanges though? obviously they don't have the money to begin with since they are just starting on the business, what proof they should show us?

So for me this PoR is just good in papers for this exchanges, and we really don't know if this exchanges has the real funds anyone, they can play with it, I mean giving us false data, maybe it's not their real funds to begin with.

Yeah, I read though that Binance has started it, but they only show BTC only, and they say that next is all other assets.
1560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: December 03, 2022, 04:12:05 PM
Agreed, however, I would be betting for him with not much expectation of winning money hehehe. Ryan Garcia is a better boxer than many others in his weight division but he is an entertainer more than a fighter much similar to Conor McGregor, I reckon. Tank is the real fighter and the future king in his weight division, very similar to Khabib. However, we cannot underestimate King Ryan's left hook which can certainly knockout tank.

I would not compare Garcia to McGregor though, I think both Garcia and Tank have an equal chance of winning, Khabib is just so good that almost all of his fights are easily won, on the case of Davis it does not work like that for him, especially if he will face Garcia who has a slight advantage on him. This is just my opinion, I could be wrong, so let's just enjoy watching the fight.

Well I agree, there is no comparison in my opinion, yes he has a lot of social media following, but he still very serious in his fight and so he is not a entertainer but just a boxer who wants to fight the best that's why he has been calling Tank for a long time.

This fight is still very far, they both will get some tune up fight first next month or at the start of the year. So let's wait as the fight gets close, it's going to be fire.

This is a mega fight, everyone is certainly waiting for this to happen. I hope there's no hindrance to this not happening because it will be another big disappointment for the boxing community. We have a rumored Spence vs Crawford but it didn't happen, this one should happen.

Yes, this fight seems to be 100% on the go, and kudos to Oscar Dela Hoya for making this fight happen, he has been telling the media that they have been pursuing this fight for many months and it seems that it has paid off.
