661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 02, 2023, 02:51:56 AM

Fiziev is still 30. He will comeback after all UFC will handle health care for him. Dana will spend more for him so he can comeback. Spinal made a comeback win after his knee recovery. Can't name someone who hasn't tried coming back for another try after an injury.

This kind of injury though needs a constant check up.  Fiziev's career will be short lived though. Probably 5 fight contract when he comes back and maybe UFC will not renew him. Dana will not risk his money for another injury treatment.

^^
I am probably one of those people who thinks price could dive down to 8k which the reason for me holding tight my Usdt. After several mistake like this, I find peace in it as long as I don't buy at ATH.

Countless times BTC had died but always resurrects. It goes to its bottom like that 15k last year. If people just knew that 15k pice was its last dip, a lot of holders would have bought that time. We're more unsure how lo it goes so people panics.

663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino security - What changed since 2017 Las Vegas attack? on: October 01, 2023, 07:44:51 PM

Seem an isolated incident though but yes tougher security is needed. That's the only they can do. But damn so many were killed. Felt sorry for them. RIP.

However, they can only minimize the mass shooting incidents but not really cut it to zero because crazy old men are not monitored 247.
A mass shooting will always happen, it may not be in a Vegas Hotel but somewhere else because it's easy to acquire guns in the US. The 2nd amendment is a touchy topic in US.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: October 01, 2023, 07:09:18 PM

Casimero is only in the rank 7. If anyone deserves the shot to a title, it's Luis Nery but even him was skipped by Innoue all for unification. There is a possibility that Inoue will move to 126 lbs and probably skip all but challenge Robeisy Ramirez. After all, he already beat Fulton which is below Robeisy so fighting Fulton I think is more of a strategy to get the WBO belt from Robeisy.

Too much hype for Luis Nery. He will just be eaten alive by Naoya Inoue if they will face off. Nery was being skipped by Inoue? Definitely no. Inoue is not like that but it's om his promoter that is arranging the fight. It's just that Nery is likely prohibited to fight in Japan (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Nery is just full of talk. I don't see him a good match for Inoue.

Marlon Tapales is the most reasonable boxer that Inoue should face and it now happened. Casimero will soon catch up but to become a champion again regardless of who will be his opponent at that time.

I think Nery will be too small for Inoue though, although Nery has the power to knockout anyone at this weight, but he hasn't face a fighter with a caliber of Inoue. For me, it's better if we will see Nery vs Casimero, two trash talker and had power and see who will be the last man standing.

Inoue should focus first on Marlon Tapales, although we wanted to support him as a big underdog, but we really haven't seen a boxer close to defeat Inoue. Only Nonito was able to almost beat Inoue in their first encounter, very close fight and Donaire broke Inoue's orbital bone. But after that, Inoue level up and knockout everyone he fights, including a rematch with the Filipino Flash.

A prime Donaire would have been a better match. They are both fast and are willing to open themselves for a punch so they can counter because they know they could hurt more. I remember him against Montiel, it was phenomenal. Inoue is just one of the feared boxers in the lower division. He will continue using his mandatory card til reaching 140. Its probably the place where he could finally find opponents with serious firepower by the likes of Prograis.

Tapales may have defeated the fighters down him but not Innoue.
665  Economy / Economics / Re: Another Coup in Africa: What is the economic effect? on: October 01, 2023, 06:38:46 PM
"On July 26, 2023, soldiers from the Presidential Guard blocked access to Bazoum's residence. The president's office said on the president's Twitter account that individual guards "launched a mutiny in a vain attempt to gain the support of the National Armed Forces and the National Guard."....""

Typical military coup. Which means the change of power is not legitimate, and neither is the head of the military junta. And why should anyone follow their orders ? Smiley
Well and most importantly - everyone understands that a military coup in one of the poorest African countries will not lead to anything positive, neither for the inhabitants of the country nor for its political weight in the world. I can even predict what will happen. Those close to the junta will gain access to the country's wealth, or simply appropriate someone's property, organize their own private military company, just to protect themselves from the population of their country.... Such "power" is not capable of anything else....

This is a classic "meet the new boss same as the boss move"

I can only hope it does not get worse with mass executions and the military pillaging the civilians.

That is the essence of the problem: there is not a change of power to improve the situation in the country and the economy, but simply the seizure of power by a dubious group, who have no other goals except the goal of power and personal enrichment. Plus they believe that they can hold power by any method available to them - and this means death, destruction, further degradation of the country.... It is very unfortunate that often the population supports such coups, and then they themselves suffer from the fact that once again they did not think, but simply believed the crooks.

This time I think they got it right removing the government leaders of their country especially the countries in Saheel. Governments in those regions like that of Niger are backed by France. These countries are still colonized by France and they are now removing France's military from their countries.

France embassy took terrible embarrassment when the junta cut their electricity and water supply eventually kicking them out. And they are also planning to kick out the US military too. Somehow the governments of those countries find Russia and China to be their new partners.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone make Bitcoin investment decisions like Didi Taihuttu? on: October 01, 2023, 06:28:18 PM
I heard about him (didn't remmber his name though) but I don't think that generally a smart thing that he did, even though it payed off for him.

Looking at that picture you shared, I can't believe that he is driving around in a van with that "Bitcoin Family" logo, basically inviting someone to do a $5 wrench attack on him or members of his family. Imho, very irresponsible behaviour, especially when you have 3 kids travelling around the world with you.

Lucky for them they were not yet a victim of a robbery. They are not very popular with regular people though. If they are and people know they have lots of money while their camper is parked in a place accessible by the crowd, they will be mugged. Hope they will always be in a safe place, the camper is a big advertisement for BTC.

Didi Taihuttu family is enough. There should be no one else doing the same investment and showing the public they go all in. They'd be putting themselves in danger if they do.
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin millionaire: Lucky or possesses more qualities that we don't have. on: October 01, 2023, 06:10:30 PM

If they become millionaires for being a trader, they already have a strategy to make more money even in the bear market.

Some of them don't even hold coins anymore before the bear market started. They know BTC has a cycle to follow due to halving. When the bull run is about to be over, the spot traders already sold their coins and all they do is wait. They do have all the qualities and they already have strategies.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: October 01, 2023, 05:45:56 PM
Very easy fight for Canelo. Charlo has lost already in first round, and all other rounds all he was thinking about was money cheque and how soon it would be over. The whole fight looked like both of them did not want to fight, but were only fulfiling contract obligatories. I bet nobody of them gonna remember that fight in future.

Looks like it. Charlo would have been giving all he got to hurt Canelo in the last round but the fact it lasted til it last, gives the impression that they are there just as they signed.
Even so, the fight is fun to watch. There was a quick KO in the 7th round I guess that made people stand up in excitement and then slowly died.

I couldn't say an easy fight for Canelo but sure Charlo is a big man for his weight. Heard one of the heavyweights say your body helps you absorb punches when you gain weight.
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: October 01, 2023, 05:17:56 PM
So regardless of the number of female social media influences,  the question is are they really active gamblers?
I think women will not be able to play like men who sometimes lack sleep and just spend their time gambling and looking for fun in it, but that doesn't mean that women can't be active gamblers, I often find many female gamblers who play at online casinos but I don't Have you ever looked at a land-based or offline casino because maybe they don't gamble actively there.

Women usually get tired more easily than men who can sometimes stay awake for several days just to gamble and I often see some men have such a heavy addiction that they can even sleep in front of their computer just to gamble and not move from their place until they actually get a big win. , if asked whether women are active gamblers, maybe yes but not as active as men
I agree with you,  men are more prone to a lot of things that make them gamble a lot more than women and even if a woman wants to gamble,  they always do so at a minimal level and that can not affect anything about them,  and that is the reason why we have a low rate of women that are gambling addicts unless in an extreme cases were women could become addicted.

Since the man has to take all the risks in the world and must meet up with family demands and other financial responsibility,  that sense of urgency of need makes the man to risk more than the woman in all circumstances and we can't in any way compare a woman gambler to the male gambler based on the prevailing factors mentioned above.

Gambling 2-3 times a week is still considered active gambler but it will already take a huge amount of time for a woman. I bet despite being an influencer they will spend more time at home doing other stuff they are more passionate about than gambling. If all they are to share is playing slot as an influencer, it seems like an hour is enough to share what needs to be shared.

A man needs more than a lifetime to play poker. If money is not a problem, he will play poker as long as he can of course thats not possible.
670  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto Sportsbook to handle large bets? on: October 01, 2023, 04:35:03 PM

This one is loaded and wants to double the money quickly.
$45M seems to be too much for a sportsbook to handle but they may have some doubts about actually processing such an amount, certainly, they'd want to know where the money comes from. And they will suspect whether you have some guys fixing fights.

If a casino wouldn't mind you sending and allowing you to play such 45M in a few matches, you better watch out for they could just shut down. It's you who gets scammed and not you profiting.
671  Economy / Gambling / Re: Restricted on casino bonuses on: October 01, 2023, 04:26:09 PM
Maybe you can understand bonuses but the restriction to play lotteries and tournaments is quite something else. This must be a small casino and are playing honest living and don't want to rig games, possible?

Because if they are up to make money, they can just let people take bonuses, play all they want, and not send away users from them. Certainly, the marketing of this casino is not that of a pro by doing such.

The most exciting is the welterweight class which I think Inoue will stay longer to fight top ranks.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: September 30, 2023, 07:27:23 PM
For me, I started to gamble when my friend showed his earnings to me. I got jealous because of that and me want to earn more, I become greedy and it makes me frustrated because I want to earn more. I gamble not because I have insufficient funds but rather because of my greed and I want to earn more like my friend. My money is sufficient in our everyday needs, but when I started to play unendlessly it becomes an addiction but luckily I caught myself so early.
Many gamblers only show off their profits but hide big losses so they don't want anyone to know, don't make your motivation for gambling from other people's gambling profits, you are addicted to gambling to gain bigger profits than your friends, I hope you should consider the purpose of gambling not to Getting a profit from anything related to gambling does not guarantee a profit apart from the impact of large losses, so determine a financial allocation for gambling that you can afford to bear losses without affecting aspects of financial allocation for other needs. The most important thing is that gambling minimizes losses because if you do not limit the use of finances in gambling then greed will worsen your financial management, without you realizing it you will lose half of your assets due to greed which influences you to get high profits from gambling.
Our focus is now on caring and sharing, right? Yes, I understand. They make just the winners look good. But seriously, losses? They hide them in a dark, little chamber. I've witnessed with my own eyes. You know what?  Why let someone else's "winning streak" encourage us gamble more? Don't gamble because Joe down the block showed off a lot of cash. Bet for fun. Spend wisely. Like you, I don't like risking everything for fame. Also, greed—annoying? Gets you off guard. Suddenly, poof. Half your assets? Gone. Be smart about your bets, limit your losses, and always watch out for sly greed

The reason why some of us get greedy is also because we need immediate money. No matter how it may look, it's always going to make a gambler curious as to whether he can also do the same when one showy gambler brags about his account funds. Hidden loss is not what a needy gambler would need to know.

Whether you have insufficient funds or you just can't get enough, the gambler and at the same time a trader will need to have funds to invest more BTC for the bull run.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: September 30, 2023, 06:27:33 PM

[I just want to use this medium to appeal to the younger generation, please stay off gambling, if you must do so, gamble responsible, don't take it as your only source of living so it wouldn't milk you dry.

Thinking of casinos as a place to make money is a very wrong perception. As you said, we have to be responsible for our gambling, but that will never happen to people who are addicted to gambling and think casinos are money machines. We must be aware that casinos are companies that seek profit, their equipment is expensive and their employees must be paid, so it is impossible for them not to make a profit, and their profits come from the gamblers' losses.

So if we like gambling then play sensibly, if not then we will only give profits to them and in the end we will be the ones who go bankrupt.

Technically, We are playing in gambling because we think about having extra money by risking our own money on games. Unless you are just playing demo games or free spin then you really are not thinking about money when you go in the casino.

Thinking about profit when playing to the casino is not bad because that’s the goal on gambling to get the entertainment. It is bad when you are already relying on a casino to give consistent profit to and view it like a source of income.

We play because we think we will win. The thought of making money easily out of gambling is very cool to resist though. Just imagine yourself bragging to someone that you made money out of nothing but the courage to bet alone.

You just hope you win every now and then. It's not a career to pursue though so if you spend too much time on casinos, you might as well do your best to win. If you are not killing it, just find a job.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: September 30, 2023, 05:45:03 PM
He is not literally banned, he can still enter the casinos but he cannot play.

That’s the actual ban description on the casino since their service offered is gambling while being there without allowing you to play is a distinct description of being ban. This is same with being ban on online casino. You can still visit the casino anonymously but you can’t play any of the games.

These casinos also have a budget on where they could just cover the bet so I think they put restrictions because they cannot cover whatever Dana White's betting amount is.
The real problem is Dana himself. He is so good on gambling. It’s not about his bet amount but rather his winning chance rate is too high which casino obviously doesn’t want to gamble anymore against him.  Cheesy

The article never mentions what sort of games he is playing though.  I suspect he stops playing after winning a huge amount, which could be a red button for the casino.  The casino will always insist to keep playing but if you have refused them several times, I guess the casino would also stop you from playing as well.

If he does play table games as said in the article, he should be checking if he can make money online either poker or blackjack. No casino would banned you as long as you can provide KYC  Grin
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Violence and anger could be a sign of gambling addiction in youths on: September 30, 2023, 05:30:57 PM

There are many cases of violence in which the perpetrator does not engage in gambling activity. Violence can be relate to the upbringing from being a kid witnessing violence which the kid will grow up thinking violence can be justified if inflicted on someone who he thinks deserves it.

But for a grown-up man, it's more of a money problem that makes him irate with his surroundings. For a man who can't do something to earn, he will really be irate and would seek someone to blame. It's not always a gambling addiction but you will relate it to gambling addiction if the guy loses money and turns violent.
677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Inspired Me To Invest In Bitcoin. on: September 30, 2023, 05:18:37 PM
I completely agree with the first part of your speech, especially that Bitcoin and the decentralized system should become a culture and also change the definition of money and property of people around the world.
Bitcoin had been a savior to us for a long time now and we should always be grateful for what Satoshi was able to incooperate so that we shall not be drained in the so called fiat policies that we are expected to adhere to. If not for Bitcoin, many people would have not even see the light or reach the level that they are now. As inflation keep increasing the price of goods and services continuously making it hard for an average man to feed there family or to pay bills. Bitcoin had really improved the lives of man and we hope to enjoy more of what Bitcoin has for us.
Improved the lives? In what aspect? Keep in mind that Bitcoin yet is still not widely accepted across countries therefore it is not being used as a tool with inflation, at the present. Indeed many of us benefit from this technology as an investment but other than that is a bit off. Think of how many people are actually using Bitcoin as a mode of payment outside this industry such as to purchase goods; most of us are guilty of not doing so. It is a normal response ‘coz we know how big its potential as an asset. But I doubt it made such impact as changing our lives given that not all people are making use of it.

To me, it changed my life as I have another asset to look up to and every morning almost immediately all I want to check is the price of BTC. And because I bet using BTC, it also made me busy reading and watching sports as a hobby.

With how BTC made me earn since the past bull market, it should be right to keep investing in it and Standwithcrypto for it will not just the crypto users who will benefit from this in the future. But from the freedom from CBDC. I think it's now inspiring.   Grin
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: September 30, 2023, 04:26:34 PM

Casinos having to endure a large loss would definitely want you to stop playing in their casino than winning. $7M a night will bankrupt them.

But quite unsure of the purpose of the article. If this is about him going to counter his reputation for making UFC fighters sign an unfair contract, it's not going to work. Dana is a pain in the ass for the celeb players, they just won't say a thing about it because Dana has a ton of connections and can make you pay. He however found someone who fought back like Francis Ngannou.
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Education. on: September 29, 2023, 07:47:53 PM
Also, many countries have official gambling age but their citizens also violate this age standard.
All these abnormal ways of gambling promote gambling abuse and possible addiction which further makes gambling a societal menace.

Yes, I believe that the legal age for gambling in many nations is 18 years of age or older, and I believe that this is the case. Young individuals under the age of 18 frequently receive gambling instruction from their elders once in one of two ways: either they choose to educate them or they are constantly present when competent gamblers are. Due to the fact that many nations do not place a high priority on gambling, many young individuals violate the age restrictions for gambling. They did not regard the laws as being so serious.

Quote
Instead of outrightly banning gambling, how about if the concerned countries officially include gambling education in their academic syllabus, just like sex education is taught in schools. Gambling education will teach the young ones the dangers of gambling and promote moderation in gambling. Will this not be a better way to handle the gambling cases?

We all understand that gambling is bad because it has more negative effects than positive ones, so educating people about it is pointless. Despite this, more young people will engage in gambling-related activities if it is included in the curriculum at their schools. And once more, I doubt that many countries will even accept that due to the religions they follow. Countries are strongly opposed to gambling because of religion, and today the two most popular religions are Islam and Christianity, both of which forbid it.

There are so many things that should have been added to the school curriculum like foreign exchange or trading currencies. Educating about money seems less important for schools when in fact we are dealing with money every day in our lives but there is no proper education about it in schools.

So instead of teaching students about gambling, why not teach about money? There is more to it than casinos. I learned more about money online and in this forum but not in school as I only learned counting the money in school not its history and how money started. Once kids learns about it, they may avoid gambling.

Dunno...  I feel like Oliveira could give Makhachev a tougher time this time around.  I think it comes down to if Oliveira goes to Dubai like a month before the event and allow himself to adjust to the time zone and to the climate.  I was hearing the last time he was jet lagged as he went just 5 days before the event and he didn't bring his whole camp with him.

And another thing is Volk gave him such a tough match up, I don't think the line they have him on might justify it at the day of the match.  But we'll see...  If Khabib is in his corner it could help a lot.

Charles will have no excuse this time since he has been there for 6 weeks. I wouldn't say there is no potential for upset he certainly has a shot. We'll see his game plan because in the first fight, he wasn't throwing much whereas we know he is an offensive fighter. He was attacking but not hurting Islam. He is more worried about the takedown threat on him which he will be more of a defensive fighter. And with this fight, only one bad move can terribly change the result like that flying knee.
