681  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: September 30, 2023, 07:27:23 PM
For me, I started to gamble when my friend showed his earnings to me. I got jealous because of that and me want to earn more, I become greedy and it makes me frustrated because I want to earn more. I gamble not because I have insufficient funds but rather because of my greed and I want to earn more like my friend. My money is sufficient in our everyday needs, but when I started to play unendlessly it becomes an addiction but luckily I caught myself so early.
Many gamblers only show off their profits but hide big losses so they don't want anyone to know, don't make your motivation for gambling from other people's gambling profits, you are addicted to gambling to gain bigger profits than your friends, I hope you should consider the purpose of gambling not to Getting a profit from anything related to gambling does not guarantee a profit apart from the impact of large losses, so determine a financial allocation for gambling that you can afford to bear losses without affecting aspects of financial allocation for other needs. The most important thing is that gambling minimizes losses because if you do not limit the use of finances in gambling then greed will worsen your financial management, without you realizing it you will lose half of your assets due to greed which influences you to get high profits from gambling.
Our focus is now on caring and sharing, right? Yes, I understand. They make just the winners look good. But seriously, losses? They hide them in a dark, little chamber. I've witnessed with my own eyes. You know what?  Why let someone else's "winning streak" encourage us gamble more? Don't gamble because Joe down the block showed off a lot of cash. Bet for fun. Spend wisely. Like you, I don't like risking everything for fame. Also, greed—annoying? Gets you off guard. Suddenly, poof. Half your assets? Gone. Be smart about your bets, limit your losses, and always watch out for sly greed

The reason why some of us get greedy is also because we need immediate money. No matter how it may look, it's always going to make a gambler curious as to whether he can also do the same when one showy gambler brags about his account funds. Hidden loss is not what a needy gambler would need to know.

Whether you have insufficient funds or you just can't get enough, the gambler and at the same time a trader will need to have funds to invest more BTC for the bull run.

[I just want to use this medium to appeal to the younger generation, please stay off gambling, if you must do so, gamble responsible, don't take it as your only source of living so it wouldn't milk you dry.

Thinking of casinos as a place to make money is a very wrong perception. As you said, we have to be responsible for our gambling, but that will never happen to people who are addicted to gambling and think casinos are money machines. We must be aware that casinos are companies that seek profit, their equipment is expensive and their employees must be paid, so it is impossible for them not to make a profit, and their profits come from the gamblers' losses.

So if we like gambling then play sensibly, if not then we will only give profits to them and in the end we will be the ones who go bankrupt.

Technically, We are playing in gambling because we think about having extra money by risking our own money on games. Unless you are just playing demo games or free spin then you really are not thinking about money when you go in the casino.

Thinking about profit when playing to the casino is not bad because that’s the goal on gambling to get the entertainment. It is bad when you are already relying on a casino to give consistent profit to and view it like a source of income.

We play because we think we will win. The thought of making money easily out of gambling is very cool to resist though. Just imagine yourself bragging to someone that you made money out of nothing but the courage to bet alone.

You just hope you win every now and then. It's not a career to pursue though so if you spend too much time on casinos, you might as well do your best to win. If you are not killing it, just find a job.
683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: September 30, 2023, 05:45:03 PM
He is not literally banned, he can still enter the casinos but he cannot play.

That’s the actual ban description on the casino since their service offered is gambling while being there without allowing you to play is a distinct description of being ban. This is same with being ban on online casino. You can still visit the casino anonymously but you can’t play any of the games.

These casinos also have a budget on where they could just cover the bet so I think they put restrictions because they cannot cover whatever Dana White's betting amount is.
The real problem is Dana himself. He is so good on gambling. It’s not about his bet amount but rather his winning chance rate is too high which casino obviously doesn’t want to gamble anymore against him.  Cheesy

The article never mentions what sort of games he is playing though.  I suspect he stops playing after winning a huge amount, which could be a red button for the casino.  The casino will always insist to keep playing but if you have refused them several times, I guess the casino would also stop you from playing as well.

If he does play table games as said in the article, he should be checking if he can make money online either poker or blackjack. No casino would banned you as long as you can provide KYC  Grin
684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Violence and anger could be a sign of gambling addiction in youths on: September 30, 2023, 05:30:57 PM

There are many cases of violence in which the perpetrator does not engage in gambling activity. Violence can be relate to the upbringing from being a kid witnessing violence which the kid will grow up thinking violence can be justified if inflicted on someone who he thinks deserves it.

But for a grown-up man, it's more of a money problem that makes him irate with his surroundings. For a man who can't do something to earn, he will really be irate and would seek someone to blame. It's not always a gambling addiction but you will relate it to gambling addiction if the guy loses money and turns violent.
685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Inspired Me To Invest In Bitcoin. on: September 30, 2023, 05:18:37 PM
I completely agree with the first part of your speech, especially that Bitcoin and the decentralized system should become a culture and also change the definition of money and property of people around the world.
Bitcoin had been a savior to us for a long time now and we should always be grateful for what Satoshi was able to incooperate so that we shall not be drained in the so called fiat policies that we are expected to adhere to. If not for Bitcoin, many people would have not even see the light or reach the level that they are now. As inflation keep increasing the price of goods and services continuously making it hard for an average man to feed there family or to pay bills. Bitcoin had really improved the lives of man and we hope to enjoy more of what Bitcoin has for us.
Improved the lives? In what aspect? Keep in mind that Bitcoin yet is still not widely accepted across countries therefore it is not being used as a tool with inflation, at the present. Indeed many of us benefit from this technology as an investment but other than that is a bit off. Think of how many people are actually using Bitcoin as a mode of payment outside this industry such as to purchase goods; most of us are guilty of not doing so. It is a normal response ‘coz we know how big its potential as an asset. But I doubt it made such impact as changing our lives given that not all people are making use of it.

To me, it changed my life as I have another asset to look up to and every morning almost immediately all I want to check is the price of BTC. And because I bet using BTC, it also made me busy reading and watching sports as a hobby.

With how BTC made me earn since the past bull market, it should be right to keep investing in it and Standwithcrypto for it will not just the crypto users who will benefit from this in the future. But from the freedom from CBDC. I think it's now inspiring.   Grin
686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: September 30, 2023, 04:26:34 PM

Casinos having to endure a large loss would definitely want you to stop playing in their casino than winning. $7M a night will bankrupt them.

But quite unsure of the purpose of the article. If this is about him going to counter his reputation for making UFC fighters sign an unfair contract, it's not going to work. Dana is a pain in the ass for the celeb players, they just won't say a thing about it because Dana has a ton of connections and can make you pay. He however found someone who fought back like Francis Ngannou.
687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Education. on: September 29, 2023, 07:47:53 PM
Also, many countries have official gambling age but their citizens also violate this age standard.
All these abnormal ways of gambling promote gambling abuse and possible addiction which further makes gambling a societal menace.

Yes, I believe that the legal age for gambling in many nations is 18 years of age or older, and I believe that this is the case. Young individuals under the age of 18 frequently receive gambling instruction from their elders once in one of two ways: either they choose to educate them or they are constantly present when competent gamblers are. Due to the fact that many nations do not place a high priority on gambling, many young individuals violate the age restrictions for gambling. They did not regard the laws as being so serious.

Quote
Instead of outrightly banning gambling, how about if the concerned countries officially include gambling education in their academic syllabus, just like sex education is taught in schools. Gambling education will teach the young ones the dangers of gambling and promote moderation in gambling. Will this not be a better way to handle the gambling cases?

We all understand that gambling is bad because it has more negative effects than positive ones, so educating people about it is pointless. Despite this, more young people will engage in gambling-related activities if it is included in the curriculum at their schools. And once more, I doubt that many countries will even accept that due to the religions they follow. Countries are strongly opposed to gambling because of religion, and today the two most popular religions are Islam and Christianity, both of which forbid it.

There are so many things that should have been added to the school curriculum like foreign exchange or trading currencies. Educating about money seems less important for schools when in fact we are dealing with money every day in our lives but there is no proper education about it in schools.

So instead of teaching students about gambling, why not teach about money? There is more to it than casinos. I learned more about money online and in this forum but not in school as I only learned counting the money in school not its history and how money started. Once kids learns about it, they may avoid gambling.

Dunno...  I feel like Oliveira could give Makhachev a tougher time this time around.  I think it comes down to if Oliveira goes to Dubai like a month before the event and allow himself to adjust to the time zone and to the climate.  I was hearing the last time he was jet lagged as he went just 5 days before the event and he didn't bring his whole camp with him.

And another thing is Volk gave him such a tough match up, I don't think the line they have him on might justify it at the day of the match.  But we'll see...  If Khabib is in his corner it could help a lot.

Charles will have no excuse this time since he has been there for 6 weeks. I wouldn't say there is no potential for upset he certainly has a shot. We'll see his game plan because in the first fight, he wasn't throwing much whereas we know he is an offensive fighter. He was attacking but not hurting Islam. He is more worried about the takedown threat on him which he will be more of a defensive fighter. And with this fight, only one bad move can terribly change the result like that flying knee.

Robert also hates CBDC, afaik as I have been following his youtube channel for a while. If his post was true and I have not really gone to his page yet but if true, he probably means more people are going to buy BTC and its price will be more than what regular people can buy.  This is so much I could put words to his mouth  Grin  But truly the man is not a CBDC fan. He is more of a Gold, Silver, and BTC.

He is encouraging people to buy BTC and the post is another way to tell the world to invest in BTC.

If they go the lane where you experienced the realization, they may not lose thousands before realizing they were milked harder. Gambling however is hard to resist, even those who are trying to quit and divert their attention to sports only, will still stray sometimes back to playing blackjack.

I couldn't say the economy today will prevent gamblers from gambling more actually. I think it will keep them gambling because the more they need to win more.
691  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino vs. Broker: Who's Really Playing You in the Money Game on: September 29, 2023, 04:01:20 PM
Brokers are playing those who are using brokers, those who are trading with any form of broker, and using it on their daily trade. They are being exploited through commission fees, trading fees, liquidation, and every other means necessary that the customer will enrich the broker owners.
You are getting almost all wrong, brokerage is a business and service, a middleman between traders and the market, do you expect them to offer their service for free? Of course, it has to be with tokens, and I don't see how these little tokens they charge translate to playing their clients.

Mind you, there are two types of retail brokers, one is an internal market maker, they earn when their clients lose and they lose when their clients win (paid winning from their pocket. This arrangement is fair, I see no one playing their clients here once they do not deny their withdrawal.

The other one is connected directly to the raw pool of the market, in which their clients win directly from the market and lose to the market. The former however could gain from the trader's loss, spread, commission and swap (which you didn't mention), while the latter will only gain from spread, commission and swap. This is a fiar arrangement since they are deploying their resources and technology to ensure you have access to the market which ordinarily can't be possible without them.

Also, the former can gain from liquidation of position, but the latter can't. Above all, all are dispensing their services with fair marked terms and conditions, it is the choice of anyone to deal with them.

You're all on one page, exchanges ask for fees that's the point. One thing that these brokers exploit is the POS token which its them who stake the tokens for the clients.
Listing the tokens in the exchange is another, this is big when a team wants which I guess many tokens today stay on DEX like 1inch and Uni.

But I think we all can understand that they are also doing business like everyone else who needs to profit. Somehow a person will look at casinos worse than brokers though.

692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 28, 2023, 06:06:14 PM
That's not happening as Oliveira is already matched up to fight Makachev in Dubai at UFC 294.

Why not? Gamrot has just fought. Oliveira fights next month. If he loses, the timing would be perfect to match him up with Gamrot, as both will have similar time between the fights.

Dunno...  It's just from a match making perspective, it doesn't really make sense.  And even if it weren't the case, should Gamrot still fight Oliveira if Oliveira won vs Makachev at 294?  I don't think Gamrot deseves a title shot after the kind of win he had vs Fiziev.  If anything Gaethje is more deserving to get a title shot after winning vs Fiz and vs Poirier.

But what prolly would happen is Gamrot is matched up with Gaethje and the winner gets a title shot.

And if Oliveira loses vs Makachev, it also doesn't make a whole lot of sense to fight a loser of a title fight and give the winner the shot to the title.  I mean it could happen but it feels iffy to me.

Anyway...  Here are the results of this week's Contender Series.  The matches were lit!  Except for one.

DWCS Season 7 Week 8:  Results

Welterweight:  Danny Barlow def Raheam Forest TKO (punches) R1 1:19
Heavyweight:  Mario Piazzon def Alexander Soldatkin DQ (illegal knee) R3 0:20
Featherweight:  Danny Silva def Angel Pacheco Decision (unanimous) (30–27, 30–27, 30–27)
Women's Flyweight:  Ernesta Kareckaite def Carli Judice Decision (split) (29–28, 28–29, 29–28)
Bantamweight:  Vinicius Oliveira def Victor Hugo Madrigal KO (punch) R1 3:02

DWCS Season 7 Week 8:  Post Fight Press Conference
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYgt51cnQEI

Charles has to win in UFC 294 for Gaethje to get a rematch vs. Charles and at the same time a title shot.  Afaik Chandler and Poirier could challenge Islam after his fight with Volkanov but these guys are just not up to take the belt. But I'm guessing they all want to get a rematch against Charles.

If Charles loses again, Gamrot will not get a title shot for Chandler and Gaethje deserves it more. Either they chose to move up or mandated to fight Islam.

I don't exactly know what's gonna happen next if Oliveira wins or loses at 294.  But what I think is it wouldn't make sense for Gamrot to fight Oliveira if Oliveira loses at 294.  Dunno...  Maybe the UFC might think it's a good idea from a match and rankings pov.

As for Chandler, coming off of a loss in a banger vs Poirier, I think he'll be matched up against Dariush.  McGregor is done and shouldn't be fighting anymore.

UFC Free Fight:  Makachev vs Olivera 1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xAKq2yWM3s

^  Lol fluke or will Makachev have a harder time the next time around?

Islam will still win. Charles couldn't rely on those BJJ anymore when it comes to Dagestani wrestling and Islam also has striking.  I don't think its a fluke.

I guess Chandler has to wait for Conor to get a huge payday if that day ever comes. His other option is to just keep fighting, he isn't getting younger but there is no one left above that he hasn't fought yet and lost. He has to fight someone or remain inactive to retire but he couldn't either go WW, those guys are going to crush him. It's a dead end for him unless UFC starts building Gamrot which Chandler can be the first.
693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changed the game you gamble on? share your story. on: September 28, 2023, 05:30:19 PM
Is it the game you started playing as a gambler that you still play till now? Is there any gambler in this place who was used to playing a particular game before but never was successful winning or did not win enough and then made up their mind that it was time for a change in the game you gamble on. Which game did you change from, and what did you change to? how long did you play the game that you are deciding to stop playing because of the bad outcomes?
First I got attracted d d to dice reason being that the result of the games is instant and doesn't require any efforts from me and in as much as I have become aware of the relyiment on lick to win the game that made it easy for me to settle down for the game.

More so I have recently played sport bets although it not in house game any ways but then since I diverted my attention from dice,  I tried settling for slot but it still give me the same feeling as dice so I just moved on to full time sportbets.

Dice is the most popular in crypto even in the early years of BTC, it is the first gambling game that I saw where we can bet using BTC. I didn't even know any kind of strategy until I read it from users here in the forum. I applied those strategies and none of them worked for me. I am not sure I stick to this game for a long time but eventually, I stopped and moved on.

Occasionally, I still come back but most of the time I'm just into sports now. Less stressed and I stopped suspecting the house of cheating on me all the time.
694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: September 28, 2023, 03:41:42 PM

It must be true that Ngannou is the heaviest hitter in UFC thats why its unfortunate to see that if he wins against Fury, Ngannou won't get a belt. So the reason the Ryiad WBC created a belt specially for this fight lol

This is somewhat funny https://bloodyelbow.com/2023/09/09/francis-ngannou-vs-tyson-fury-wbc-belt/

The article didn't say a belt name but they may comeup with something the same as BMF.

The WBC always manages to insert themselves into these high profile events by creating special belts. I'm not sure if they're trying to milk these fighters for some sanctioning fees or if it's some sort of publicity stunt.

I've seen some footage of Ngannou training and he is in great shape and he seems really motivated. Even though money was his primary reason for challenging Fury I don't think it's the only reason. He wants to prove that he is taking this seriously and I expect him to have a much better performance than MMA fighters like Ben Askren and Nate Diaz who barely even bothered to train.

WBC needs to have a cause for this fight to happen and a made-up belt like BMF will justify it while they are not willing to put Fury's belt on the line.
Ngannou is paid more than what he could earn in UFC, he should be motivated. Ngannou will stay in boxing for a while even if he loses this fight though. Now that belt will be challenged as well so I think they need to also create a new weight class.

I'm more interested in Dana's reaction to the belt.
695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: September 28, 2023, 03:25:27 PM
I think it's simply that the parties find a voice in using the service with each other. One time while accidentally using it during lunch, I accidentally turned on a channel with content introducing online gambling.
At that time, people claimed that in convenient times they could advertise anything, but children didn't care much, so sometimes we were afraid of the problem of accessing information in the next generation, but It seems that it is just an objective view. Wishing good things for everyone, I believe that as long as the product is suitable for the age content, it will be interesting for them to appear a lot.

At what age do you think the kids should learn about gambling games?
I did learn to gamble when I was a kid playing cards with friends and scratch cards. It isn't really serious money as they were just dimes. It still developed our social life as a kid but this is the time when we don't have internet yet.

This time around the kids can download apps and can find out how to make money online which they will be interested in once they need money. I wouldn't be surprised if they sign up on onlyfans and that would be more disturbing.

thanks for summarizing it.

Stranger ask to invest in Huobei and then another exchange (scam) to withdraw direct into bank. At first this guy invest 50$ and withdraw successful and then 100$,1k ,10k and everything goes well. After that this guy borrowed money from friends with interest and he deposited more than 100k$ and now he is not able to withdraw.
this is pretty much Identical to a scam I have seen before, I personally know several people who have been scammed like this and each of them lost thousands in our currency. I am guessing that he was encouraged to invest more money every time the withdrawal went through(just like how the poeple I know told me how they were encouraged to invest more after every successful withdrawal).

This guy now looking to make money through youtube, Facebook and TikTok and created youtube channel and ask in video to help him with sharing.
if the OP really plan on making money through these platforms, he needs to create good content, asking people to share his video isn't really gonna help him if he doesn't have content that people want to watch.

The victim seem to have a twisted mind just what users here have discovered. I symphatized for awhile thinking he was lured into sending money but it seem like he was the first to talk to this Smith girl as @albon had screenshot it. He wants to profit from the USDT sale and turned out he lost it all.

Now he wants to make money with these videos, Jesus OP has gotto become victim for this goal.
697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: September 28, 2023, 01:55:35 AM
Such advertisements are often seen on various sports related TV channels. Where live betting is encouraged. This will definitely have a negative impact on kids. However, it is almost clear that there is no action by the TV media or the government in this regard. Because governments can earn large revenues in countries that have licensed casinos or gambling platforms. So they take no action from their position. We should definitely discourage those with kids from viewing those ads otherwise there is no alternative to avoid it
Casino or gambling ads are mostly seen on social media. I think we can't stop these ads at will. We should control our children and stop them from these gambling ads. If they get into gambling at such a young age.  Their future will be very bad. If we can keep our children careful then they can stay away from gambling. If we do not discipline our children properly then they will get involved in various crimes including gambling.

99% chance that Indian kids already have seen those ads and may be even google searched it already especially if the casino has a logo of a cuddly animals. But it disnt stop Australia from banning gambling ads on TV though. I think they still did the right thing and leave the online ads alone.

If your kid asks about it, just don't lie for they will find out about it and find out you lie.

699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 27, 2023, 07:22:23 PM

Canelo's winning in KO might be something that gambler who love taking big risk may take, though yes, there are gamblers who also love to see bigger odd something that always wanted to bet against the favorite, it's a good kind of pick which if luck permits and upset happen the multiplier is really something that you will going to enjoy.

Let see if how both fighters will showcase their talents, possible for another win for Canelo here as for my personal take, sparing some coin just to add up for another extra entertainment while watching the fight.

I would take the risk for the KO win at 3.95; it's very attractive, especially considering that Canelo is in his comfortable division. The fight might end via decision, but with odds at just 1.67, it's not as appealing. I'm expecting a more entertaining fight, so I'm leaning towards the KO outcome. It's still early, but at least the odds are already available, allowing us to make early betting choices.

Indeed, I agree with taking that risk at the great odds. Yeah, Canelo didn't knockout his last opponent in John Ryder, but Ryder is a tough mofo and a true SMW boxer. As opposed to Charlo, who's moving up in 2 weight class and so we didn't know if he can bring his power to this weight or how his chin will hold against the power of Canelo.

Maybe it will be a similar outcome like in the Caleb Plant fight. Wherein Caleb has success early, but Canelo, being a slow starter, is just picking his shots early. But once he got his momentum in full and heated, up, just a matter of time before knocking Caleb. Maybe similar scenario here.

I do not think that Canelo is going to lose this fight. He is definitely a hell of a fighter. And it is actually a very big risk for anyone to predict otherwise. But the odds are really really big. So maybe if someone is going to put big money on Jarmell which is going to be a mistake. The big money are going to be put on Canelo. The smaller amount of money is definitely going to be put on Jarmel. Because I don't think anyone is actually going to take such a big risk with a big amount of money. That is just going to be a stupid decision for anyone to make. Let's see what happens. I am not expecting any surprises though.

Possible that Canelo will lose though. Seem a bit in decline if you look at all his previous fights which somehow in a unanimous decision. He took a risk against Bivol and lost. He also stopped improving. Maybe because he is already rich and there are no incentives to make more money anymore.

Apparently, Charlo is new in this weight class, he just bloated himself for the purpose of fighting Canelo. If he isn't used to his weight yet which is more than likely, it doesn't need a bit of a push for Canelo to KO him. 5th Division seems enough of an achievement for Caanelo, he isn't even 40 yet.

The market still remains unpredictable by now even if there's several hype coming over, but we can't deny the fact that shitcoins was still the hope of everyone to enter the market.
~snip~
You don't have to predict the market because you must know you will fail with your predictions. By unavoidable endings for your predictions, when you know it, you can avoid making predictions. It's good for your investment as you don't believe in your predictions and make bad decisions.

Bitcoin market is volatile but if you can hold your coins, you can get rich. Get rich without any prediction and your task is simple, storing your bitcoin safely and holding it.

How to store it safely?
In non custodial wallets, multisig wallets, hardware wallets and they all must be open source.

Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts
Don't do this and think you are storing and holding your bitcoin safely.

Definitely, I'm still holding cryptocurrency and avoiding market predictions despite the fact that I've faced the death cross of my asset. Patience was really my stand for several years hoping that there's an amazing outcome of my principles and mindset towards the unexpected. It's more like gambling with unexpected chances in life, no matter what would it be; most importantly you're consistent with the target you have in life. Because, giving up has no room for the big dream that's possible to happen.

Just hold on dear life. lol

I am hoping this spike is a signal that prices may go up next month and may continue til the yuletide season. We have been down this long already it's really crazy that I'm still holding on to some altcoins but it's too late to also sell.

The spike today I think was about Gensler getting roasted in Congress but the excitement also died when he still declined the spot EFT. I'm wondering if this man wasn't threatened or if was he already hiring a ton of noncrypto bodyguards.
