701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Patience above all will be rewarded here on: September 05, 2020, 10:02:19 PM
We have done a good job making use of Bitcoin and the work continues. If we fall we get up.

That's the way to go about bitcoin or cryptocurrency investment. You need to take up the risk of investment rather rather than having fear built all over you about fear of falling when you invest

Patience, courage, money, skills and knowledge, one of the most important element you should have to be a good investor/trader. As you go you must learn how to reduce that risks, so you could maximize your chance of having a profit.

Fear is another element that could give you losses, since it if something happened you expected you might panic or usually overthink what will happen.
702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the need to increase BTC's max supply arise in the future? on: September 05, 2020, 03:56:43 PM
I don't think there is any need to increase the number of bitcoins in the future because it is contrary to what Satoshi Nakamoto created. The community will not allow that, bitcoin needs to keep 21 million to ensure scarcity. If you look for ways to expand the number of bitcoins, then bitcoin will no longer be bitcoin.

It is still bitcoin, but not the crypto currency this community will support if that even happens. Talking about this, I remembered the incident in the past where a lot of bitcoin is made. I am not saying that this will happen again but I think if the max supply will arise in the future it will be for profit and greedy reasons and I can certainly say that I am not alive at that time.
703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You have to prove that you can take the loss on: September 05, 2020, 01:48:01 PM
This has a pro and cons both. Good for those who earning is not much and only have limited money for their survival so in such case losing in gabling will prove to be fatal. On other hand those who have lot of money now will have to also prove it and they might just stay without it.

I don't think those people with a lot of money would be going to face an ombudsman just to prove that he himself can take those losses. If I am one I would just visit other gambling sites or maybe just create another account where I could gamble or maybe just play with other people not known by the government. They would stay gambling but I don't think they would be staying at the same online casino though.
704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You have to prove that you can take the loss on: September 05, 2020, 12:25:01 AM
The government are just concerned in their citizens that is why they are creating these regulations as you said but we can't just say that it is the government's fault of having these loopholes since people are also finding a way to walk around that regulations. Also, it doens't just fall to the government's hands, it also falls to these gamblers how would they behave and control their bettings.
As from my personal experience, many gamblers are hard with that task. For many of them this is impossible burden. So only government can do something about that. As i said many times above, neither casino or gamblers are interested to be more calm in betting. For first this is business, for second - way of life and their main drug.

I agree. I do realized that I am addicted in gambling in the past but I guess that is also the product of the pokes, jokes and even gossips to/about me. With the support of my partner, I have that will to stop that addiction and attend some therapies to help. Luckily I am not that deep in the scale, unless people are not putting attention to these people, they won't go out there alone.
705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gambling in the wake of covid-19 on: September 04, 2020, 11:30:11 PM
My total score is 6, I can say that I don't have any problems with my gambling at all though there are instances that I can slight of it. I guess in the past I would score 10 or higher since I am chasing this dream of making gambling my main source of income but right now, I am sober, I know that it is impossible. Support is really important, but it all starts with your will power, I can attest to that.
706  Economy / Economics / Re: The pros and cons of going cashless on: September 04, 2020, 10:30:24 PM
I do not like cash for the reason that all paper money and coins in circulation are dirty, so I prefer only a non-cash payment method. But still, you should carry a couple of hundred dollars with you just in case, because there are unforeseen situations with payment terminals.

Did you buy now everything without cash in your hands or in your pocket? I think no because online payments, buying goods and services is still not enough. Also a cashless transaction has a limited user because all are using cash based on the their accustomed.

Not just accustomed to cash but also can't actually use digital currency or crypto currency because of the status they have. People already have mobile phones and laptops while some can't even afford a mobile phone. We still need time for this to happen and I think it still need years to be able to be applied.
707  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: September 04, 2020, 03:59:53 PM
In my opinion, if the income from crypto is large enough and stable per month, the government may impose taxes on our crypto income, meaning that the tax is based on fiat currency resulting from the withdrawal of exchangers.
I don't think there should be any taxes to crypto profits.
However, most goods you buy in the store already has taxes in the price, so if we'll be able to buy with crypto that means we pay taxes already

But we can't actually use it, not in all of the countries we can use bitcoin to buy goods. Usually we convert out bitcoins and even other crypto currencies into fiat and in terms of our local exchanges, even though I am using their servcies, I can't actually see any taxes deducted from the converted amount. Let's just hope that it stays like this.
708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is here to stay on: September 04, 2020, 02:41:43 PM
When I first got to know bitcoin, I thought it was a digital currency that could be used anywhere as long as there was a network available,

the fact is that now many people use Bitcoin for investment not as a medium of exchange,
And it doesn't matter because bitcoin has created a great community right now.

same here but who wouldnt ? when the price before was only small and btc is also stable  people dont have an idea that it can also work perfectly as an investment but they already know it verry late when the value starts to climb . so what if most people use btc as an investment tool ? would you also follow them ? no but just continue using your btc as a currency because thats the reason why you are here or why you have a btc .

Well, most of the people at its early days don't look at it as an investment, they are findings way for people to use it and have an adoption that would make it as a method to pay or used in transactions. It is just when the price explodes, saw the potential of it and invested late on it. As people witness it at its peak, they would get on it hoping they would be taking profit from that volatile movements that is the reason bitcoin will stay for long.
709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin such a big risk? on: September 04, 2020, 01:54:48 PM
I think bitcoin is dangerous only for those who are just starting. They don't know how to look at the market or chart. What is more important is the learning that has never had the experience of accepting losses. For a volatile market like crypto, it is too risky for them.

I won't say dangerous but more of higher risk but that depends on what is their purpose in using bitcoin. If they wanted to use it, I don't see any danger from it, if they are investing, that is when we talk about higher risk since they have low knowledge about it. We are the same, when we started we are at that risk but we learn it as it rolls.
710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COCK FIGHTING: COVID-19 health protocols violators, caught on: September 04, 2020, 10:43:22 AM
I support our president's initiative to fined or even send these people to jail so they will serve their lessons and people will take the President's action and orders seriously the Philippines has a very high number of infection because of the people's disobedience and lack of disciple it cannot continue or all our hospitals will be closed for lack of beds for new infected, something that the government does not want to happen.

But those people being disobedient and lack of discipline is not because of gambling, but because it is the nature of them though I agree that the government is really shouldering what is happening even though it is their fault or not. But another thing is that we can't actually stop these guys so all of this will fall to the hands of those people gambling.
711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COCK FIGHTING: COVID-19 health protocols violators, caught on: September 04, 2020, 01:46:31 AM
We really can't control people in doing stuff like this, Even if it can be dangerous to their health or whether it is an illegal act in their country. We know this cockfighting wouldn't be happening if there aren't organizers that make this event. I think they are the ones who should be blamed for. I think those cockfighting gamblers are having itchy hands in betting on their cocks to fight so they can't wait. It's just there are some people who don't take this pandemic seriously and don't know the harm it can bring to them and their surroundings if they are infected. They aren't scared at all they just want to satisfy their own needs.

Well, the organizers are themselves though. The cockfighting that I am saying is widely known to our country as "tupada" or like a meetup where people would talk about meeting in a place and held their cockfighting there. So saying that the organizers wil be blamed, it is them to be blamed because it is them that organized it at the first place.
712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COCK FIGHTING: COVID-19 health protocols violators, caught on: September 03, 2020, 10:59:30 AM
even if they win but their Health is at risk, what if 10 of them become infected and shared with their family?is it in the governments concern and problem how to make them better?

Well, that is the worst thing to happen, you the most annoying part in that situation? Those people would be blaming the government about that, people would be scared of them so they would find a way to blame it all on the government, that is what they do. Then the government will be the one making an adjustment to those, that is the sad part. Hope they realize this before going on those "tupadas".

The problem is that you can't force people to stay inside forever. It has been almost 6 months since the lockdown came in to effect here (in India) and now people just want to go out and relax themselves even if that means that there is a higher chance of putting them at risk. For how long you want them to stay inside and refrain from entertainment? The pharma companies are saying that a vaccine may not be available for another 12 months.

I am not saying that they can't entertain themselves, but can they just follow the safety protocols? Can they just follow the law of not doing these cockfighting which is still banned? They can do anything to entertain themselves as long as they are following the protocols, They could relax, bond with their family, does it really need to be cockfighting?
713  Other / Off-topic / Re: It's time to destroy China, don't buy anything from them ,don't deal with them on: September 02, 2020, 10:37:37 PM
China is truly the world's factory. They have a large population and a cheap, skilled workforce. Items from China are found almost all over the world and prices are very competitive. We cannot easily change people's consumption habits. Countries need to have local businesses that have good products and compete with Chinese products.
The boycott of Chinese goods cannot be done quickly but requires a lot of effort from the people and the government.

What if your country's items we're rejected and boycotted by another country where you export your items, what will you feel? You said it yourself, China is known for that. I am not siding with China here, It is just wrong. If you want to compete with them, you show them that you can not by taking their items down. There are other reasons too why the government won't just shut down their connection to China's exporting items.
714  Economy / Economics / Re: Will African countries be developed? on: September 02, 2020, 03:17:42 PM
Africa is a continent with very beautiful natural treasures, abundant natural resources. Besides that many stars were born from Africa. football players for example, many good talents come from this continent. With the right management and governance, Africa can be better in the future.

IF they would be able to fight corruption, they could easily end the poverty of the country but the ones fighting those are still weak. As far as I know, there are a lot of small stores in the country and that also we're flooded with bribery, we're talking about millions of money from bribery.
715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Satoshi Stop bitcoin? on: September 02, 2020, 02:21:45 PM
Satoshi Nakamoto has done a great job in bitcoin invention, his idea is what many of us are celebrating and enjoying today and we are grateful to have such a great idea, we have all believed that by the decentralized nature of bitcoin, it should be unstoppable by any government, even by Japan where Satoshi was claimed to be a citizen. Now that his idea has been propelled far and wide, do you think he has the capacity to stop it again?

He will not be able to stop bitcoin. Bitcoin is decentralized and no one can stop it, even the developers. You can't say that it is unstoppable by the government since there are a lot of countries that already ban it, they could use it secretly but I don't think you should say unstoppable, they could limit the usage of it though.
716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin such a big risk? on: September 02, 2020, 12:55:04 PM
Is it riskier to place your money in Bitcoin or hold them in a fiat savings account? What's your opinion?

I'd rather risk my money in bitcoin and other crypto currencies rather than saving them in a bank's saving account. They gave small profit through time while bitcoin may be risky, at least it could give results or even profits in a short period of time. Other crypto currencies might even double that amount in a short period of time.

Hope these gamblers could hear you so they would realize what they are doing. People are doing what they wanted and that is the same as these people betting on cockfighting. New cases had been reported in our province so I think it would really hit them to stop what they are doing. I warned my friend about going in one today and I don't know if they continued that.
But looking at their attitude?surely they are far different from what he is mentioning,Keeping their Money must be the thing they must do but instead gambling is what goes in their mind instead.
we all know that we are Bored because of lockdown and quarantine but the government is only here to help us ,and saving the country from spreading of this Virus.

Well, not all of these people are thinking of saving their money. Most of them are not financially illiterate and I know that they don't care whether they are caught or lost a lot of money from betting on cockfighting, the most important thing for them is just to bet and have fun. I asked my friend and they said that they didn't continue because of the new cases announced yesterday. That just means the government became strict or they are scared of the virus.

I hope it is the latter.
719  Economy / Economics / Re: How long will it take banks to phase out physical cash completely? on: September 01, 2020, 09:29:06 PM
Until and unless there is free 24/7 internet in every corner of the world the physical cash cannot be phased out. Also the literacy and at least mobile phone for the people is needed to do so.

I think this shouldn't be the basis for that. Here in our country, there are still a lot of places that don't have a stable electricity where a lot of brownouts are happening. In case of literacy, since milennials are getting older whose generation are used to technologies, I guess we don't have a problem with it. Still, that would take years or maybe a decade.
720  Economy / Economics / Re: Your economic outlook and your life for 2021 poll on: September 01, 2020, 06:57:33 PM
Curious, as Bitcoiners, how did the COVID-19 pandemic affect your financial situation, and what is your outlook for 2021?

I think everyone is affected by this pandemic and even though the price of bitcoin dropped the past month, I am not affected by it since I kept on holding. I think I am expecting both sides for the future year, as an investor you should also consider bad movements so you make something reducing that risks to come.
