801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Darkcoin : InstantX Demonstration (still in Test Phase) on: November 09, 2014, 12:26:21 AM
Instant transaction is marketing bullshit.

The DRK dev himself said this week the transactions will take 15 seconds.

That's a test environment, nothing like the real environment.

15 seconds is less time than it takes to swipe a visa card and enter your pin and wait for confirmation...

Show me any other crypto that has this capability implemented and working?

You are so obtuse you dont even realise how much potential and a game changer this is in the crypto world....

Now go back and play in your piss riddled sandbox you child.

He's an XC fanboy. Worried about his investment most likely. Edit: Just checked XC for the first time in a while. Nice job mr_random, Dan is enjoying your money thoroughly Smiley

Is this the best trolling you can do? I wish I could filter degenerates like yourself from my reality.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCX, Coblee, Smoothie on: September 23, 2014, 10:34:46 PM
There's no attack. What kind of moron announces an attack in advance of it occurring, thus allowing the developers to prepare? Sounds more like market manipulation. If someone really wanted to kill Monero, they'd do it. Not make tons of posts arguing with obvious trolls. In addition, if he really did attack Monero, he would cause financial harm to a large number of people, paving the way for lawsuits. How gullible do you have to be to believe this guy?
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCX has killed numerous coins before, get your stuff out of Monero... NOW! on: September 22, 2014, 11:23:01 PM
I doubt that BCX will do anything to Monero. He hasn't successfully killed or even seriously attacked any coin of significance. Some random shitcoins, which had so little hash that any moron could attack them, given sufficient resources. Unless he's willing to waste tens of thousands of dollars for the sake of his ego, nothing will happen. I've heard that he has quite a tidy sum of BTC/LTC, but is it really worth wasting such resources, just to stick it to the troll that baited him?
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 21, 2014, 09:31:53 PM
Bobsurplus is beyond pathetic. Every month or so he choose a new coin to shill for. He used to spam the Darkcoin thread with Cloakcoin advertising, now he comes here to propagate new nonsense. The coins change, but the nonsense he spews follows the same formula.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 21, 2014, 07:17:45 PM

I have an alternate hypothesis for (b), which is that BCX's crypto-expert contact told him they had found some possible flaws in the Monero code, then his ego took that and ran with it. Does fit in with most of his previous "coin killing" exploits and its then perfect material for all the anti-Monero posters, whereby the magic of the BCX effect turns an unsubstantiated exploit claim into a verified doomsday device.

If this is the case, good job to whoever baited him.
807  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: September 20, 2014, 01:09:37 AM
James I will sleep first. If anyone can beat me to it, go ahead. Again nothing may come of my hunch.

Gmaxell the CN does have encryption because only the receiver can decrypt who the coin was spent to. Wink Perhaps you forgot it is not just a digital signature as in Buttcoin.
I'll put up 10 BTC if you prove that such a critical vulnerability exists, and deliver the proof to me privately. Further conditions apply, PM me if you're serious on taking up my offer.
808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Darkcoin - Will it rise again? on: September 04, 2014, 09:14:43 PM
Oh look, all the predictions that DRK is dead are wrong.
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | DarkSend+ Is Live! on: September 03, 2014, 03:37:47 PM
I kind of agree with that post. I don't think the development of Darkcoin was handled in a very logical way. The masternodes are the foundation of Darkcoin. Logically, anything involving masternodes should be brought to completion prior to focusing on everything that comes after. The whole DarkTor idea is very interesting, but at this point it's a complete distraction. Before even spending a single moment's thought on building infrastructure on top of masternodes, everything involving masternode payment should have been brought to completion. Why are we nearly nine months into this project, and we still don't know how masternode payments are going to be enforced?

I know I sound like a broken record here, but this is beyond critical. Without enforcement, Darkcoin is dead. Until this is figured out and finished, everything else should be placed on the back burner. There's no point in even thinking about DarkTor if payments aren't being enforced. It's like thinking about what sort of rims you are going to buy for your car, when you don't even have an engine!

At least our trolls are hero members.

InfoFront's Daily AltCoin Observation: Boolberry has one of the worst names of any altcoin. Based on that fact alone, it has an approximately 0% chance of success.
This has been brought up in their thread countless times. I think CZ has some kind of emotional attachment to the name. Boolberry: because I want a currency that could reasonably be mistaken for fruit.

'Boolberry' is a great name.  It's distinct, memorable, and playful, with a pun in there for math nerds, just like 'Google.'

The logo is also very sweet and much better than Monero's boring 'serious professional' orange/grey nastiness.

But please keep complaining about it, because the more publicity BBR gets the more valuable my stack becomes!   Cool

Monero sounds like money, Boolberry sounds like fruit. It's a different approach, which is fine, but I think it's pretty obvious which CN coin will be #1. I do however agree that the Monero color scheme and logo are nasty.
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $500,000 USD to invest, What should I invest in? on: September 03, 2014, 02:35:07 AM
My suggestion:

First do your own research. This is critically important! Then and only then consider the following allocation:

75% XBT (Bitcoin)
25% XMR (Monero)

That's a good start, but you need LTC as a hedge against catastrophic Bitcoin failure and likewise BBR as a hedge against XMR.

You also want XCN as a hedge against all four of those, because it's the first coin to feature safe zero-confirmation transactions and a mini-blockchain.
Please tell me more about how a shitcoin like LTC has anything except a slow death in its future.

No to any sort of censorship. Start with that any all credibility goes down the drain.
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $500,000 USD to invest, What should I invest in? on: September 03, 2014, 12:45:12 AM
I'd say put it all into Bitcoin. Altcoins are depressing. The vast majority are pure trash.
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 02, 2014, 10:27:54 PM
Bearish scenario is unravelling for Bitcoin, so far, no ALT was ever able to resist cash flight in such circumstances. I believe XMR will recover (and reach new heights) only, when BTC resumes its growth. We are talking weeks, not hours.

Past performance is no guarantee of future results.  I can see why LTC would trade a high correlation to BTC, forever:  It is fundamentally the same.  I can't see why XMR should trade with a high correlation with BTC once you can buy it and trade it against fiat.  The transparent and private liquidity markets are largely decoupled, in their fundamentals.  Any coupling tends to compromise privacy, after all.  That may take a while yet to become manifest, however.  The exchange mechanisms need to exist, and become usable.

One issue I see (could be wrong) but the powers that be who allow exchanges to take fiat and exchange for crypto.  I can see them allowing bitcoin - but not Monero.  Or eventually shutting it down.  Or at the very least Monero being unwanted by exchanges who are trying to operate within the good graces of the IRS etc & limiting you to a few crapsty exchanges.

In that case there might be local monero - but bitcoin serving as the gateway will hold monero down imo
If US based exchanges cannot have Monero trading, foreign or decentralized exchanges will fill the gap. I don't really see it as a big issue.

Seems like all that XC is capable of is ripping off Darkcoin's ideas. Not much of a surprise, given their history.
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 01, 2014, 09:06:28 PM
Comparing Monero and Zerocoin, here is a post I made in the Anoncoin thread.

Ok, as an example let's consider ring signatures. A solution that provides cryptographically guaranteed anonymity without the risk of keys that can create unlimited coins. Who in their right mind would prefer Zerocoin/Zerocash? Let's use a gas tank in a car as an analogy. Would you prefer a gas tank that has a hole, which has a metal plate welded over it, or one without any hole to begin with? The metal plate should theoretically prevent leaks, but who would choose it over a tank with no hole to begin with?

One other thing that concerns me is whether Evan has fixed the collateral bug. If I recall correctly, we can't go open source until that bug is fixed. Otherwise someone will write malicious code that jams Darksend by not fulfilling all the necessary steps.
820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: September 01, 2014, 04:45:32 PM
Anonymint has a tendency to go around and criticize everyone's work, while dropping thinly veiled hints that he has the solution. Without ever providing that solution.

Reality check is important part of life and Anonymint is doing outstanding job.
I agree. His criticism can be very useful. But the whole "I know the solution, and I'm not telling you!" shtick gets a bit tiring when nothing ever comes of it.
