These seem to be the same miner I have!  You are lucky you got that Dell PSU...

yes, i feel that dell PE2950 PSU is perfect match with Antminer, i get about 6 pcs of 2nd hand Dell PSU with cost of RMB750 include the courier fee, ~ U$125

its valuable PSU. The only problem need to selfmade the connecting cable.

Will this work?http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-PowerEdge-PE2950-Z750P-00-750W-Server-PSU-Power-Supply-JX399-/261322796426?pt=US_Server_Power_Supplies&hash=item3cd80d6d8a
Thanks a lot

Hey guys, did you ever get a board which will not hash no matter what settings you try? I have obtained one such board. All it throws are loads of errors. I have tested the usual suspects voltage, etc.
It's a new PCIexpress style board, so I cannot bypass a chip.

I have tried disabling chips in software but the board will not hash. I tried it as a sole board connected to an Mboard.

I don't have any fiat available right now.. but even if I did, the indicators aren't quite in line at the moment. Waiting for StochRSI, CCI, RSI to all be in/near the blue. At least 2 of them need to be.

Bearish divergence in RSI, Ultimate oscillator, CCI.

Here's the V3 image, sorry for the delay.  Please *only* download this if you have the new overclocked V3 boards.  It will make previous boards run slower (clock reduced due to higher voltage).

This is not a new, improved version - its just what we shipped already, in case you get a bad SD card or your SD card corrupts.

This new image has a Shutdown button - use it rather than just pulling the plug on the power and your SD cards will do much better!

Cheers,
Dave

Wishing you all the best with your rigs and enjoy the high BTC prices!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/skr9vitueeyxwmw/miner-v3-image-11-15-2013-customer.img

has anybody tried this image successfully?

this version wasn't assigned an address by my DHCP router like the others.

I tried it with my old v1 M board. Works fine, but I think the chainminer is based on the older version, with some changes like automatic detection of v1 M board. There's a shutdown button on the web interface. miner.h was also changed to default speed 52.

it started with an IP address 192.168.0.249. I changed the IP address with <Change IP configuration button>. Nevertheless  in my opinion, Punin's November image is better for older boards, and if you recompile with modded miner.h to 52 speed, it's golden for new boards. all IMO, please use due caution etc etc

One of my rigs is V1 MB based and has been running heavily OC'd (>500GH/s across 16 boards) for months. I noticed yesterday that the white plastic male connectors (minifit jr 6P) were darkening (near the contacts) due to heat damage - fortunately there was no damage to the PSU or PSU cabling. The connectors were hot to the touch, likely due to the current handling capabilities of the pins are being exceeded. I'll upload a pic when I get home

This rig is in my basement which is very, very cool. PSU is a Corsair AX850. No damage has been observed on any connectors (board or cable) either on this rig or my other two. Heatsinks are installed on every HB and 3 HSFs per rig.

I'd advise everyone to check connectors regularly, and to exercise caution when overclocking.

Thanks Jim - I second that emotion!

Folks please power your rigs with two *seperate* cables from the PSU.  Full rigs should probably use a 1000w or great power supply for safety's sake.  Check your rigs often.  This is all stuff we faced back in the GPU mining days Tongue

Everyone who get a board: Please check if there where some dust on the cooler.
Maybe i'm wrong: But for me it seems that the shipped boards are all running for a long time before shipping, isn't it?
Black dust? yes in my case

875  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Mining with no money limit, which hardware? on: November 24, 2013, 10:53:34 PM
A friend of mine is lucky enough to have a lot of money and he is asking me info on entering the mining world. He wants to mine more than buying bitcoins.

I have checked the forum and many other websites and it is my understanding that he can't buy anything and start mining right now. KNC is sold out and Cointerra has only the March batch available. Is this correct? Is it also correct that no other hardware would make sense right now? For example, he could buy a bunch of Asicminer blades but I don't think that would be profitable, even if he buys 50 of them.

Thanks a lot!

So do we have to sacrifice the PCIE power connectors of a PSU?
