8681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You in Favor to Register Your BTC Address to Trace Transaction and Tax??? on: October 20, 2017, 02:05:06 AM
Are you in favor to register your BTC Wallet address to trace transactions and impose taxed it?  It is a big subject now amongst lawmakers to trace down income and transaction about bitcoins.   This has become the talk of the people involved in digital currency lately.  So, What do you think?Huh

What kind of absurd idea is this? Bitcoin address is not and should not be tied to any names. That's how it was design and giving up your privileges for being pseudo-anonymous will not be good for you. Those proponent of this doesn't know a single thing about bitcoin. Actually this has been used by a lot of trading platforms, asking your data for KYC/AML compliant. That is if you are going to exchange your bitcoin to fiat. However, if you kept it in a wallet like Core or Electrum there should be name association. And this will not gain traction from the community. This is a bad idea to begin with.
8682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The 10.000 btc pizza... on: October 20, 2017, 12:55:47 AM
You know what, people really understand what bitcoin is: a currency.
People who are surprised by such expenses do not understand what bitcoin is, they consider bitcoin as an investment that should make them rich in bitcoin if you think so.
of course we all know that bitcoin is on the rise and we all take the big advantage but if everyone sees bitcoin just as an investment to make a profit, bigger I am sure there are still many advantages Bitcoin increases because this is currency not because it is investment ..

At that time no one could predict has bitcoin would evolved. And he did the right thing, he used bitcoin as payment method to bought his favorite pizza. No one can question his decision on that. Yes, bitcoin has already surging however, his action wasn't wrong. And I don't know if he still made sudden appearance here, But I know the guy is now Legendary and maybe his action really push bitcoin one step further to what we are enjoying today.
8683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 217: Bisping vs GSP Info and Betting Thread on: October 18, 2017, 11:47:04 AM
This is yet another big card with some interesting fights and it is back to Madison Square Garden, return of GSP is the focal point and i would like to see him face McGregor after this fight,Bisping is a tough opponent and it is really interesting to see whether we will see Anderson and GSP too as that was one fight i was looking for a very long time and now Anderson is not in his prime yet it is interesting to see that encounter.
Will make my predicts one week before the fight night.

Its going to be an interesting fight though to see whether gsp still has it takes to take the belt and shut bisping's mouth. The thing is mot all greats who went back after retirement had a successful run. I've been a log fan though of gsp and i'm hoping this run of his becomes at least worth while.

Yes, its really interesting to see if GSP has still what it takes to have a belt around his waist again. He retired on top and citing reasons that he doesn't have that fire inside of him to fight. But now he comebacks and its gonna be interesting to see the old GSP once more. I'm not a fan though because his fights always ended in a decision and that time his decision is weak that's why he totally dominated it. Plus we didn't given the chance to see him go against Anderson Silva in their prime.
8684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coins are CRASHING!!! Is it the next crash? BTC Down to $5300 as I type this! on: October 18, 2017, 11:19:47 AM
Well the markets reached all time highs recently so this is expected. I was expecting it to crash a lot lower after the China sell off last month, but we recovered and reached new time highs. I think another crash is bound to happen again. I mean just the beginning of the year Bitcoin was at $300 and Ethereum was $5, now just a few months later look at the prices. There has to be a correction, and that time is now. What do you think?

Yeah, this is just a minor correction and as I have said it inevitable. We may see bitcoin slump to $5000 low point and ETH around $250 again. However, this should not be a cause for panic because it should happened a couple of days ago when bitcoin reach almost $6000. So we might as well go and buy more bitcoins or altcoins in this correction, for me I consider this a good buying point. And one this slump is over, we may see another ATH is offing, including a lot of alts. Bitcoin price is just about $5200 but we are going to see the price going to $5000 then consolidating and on its way to $6000 before the implementation of hard fork this 25th.
8685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty campagnes at the moment? on: October 18, 2017, 10:13:58 AM
Try searching on the ICO campaign now and see how much they have sold on their pre-sale and you will definitely know if the campaign will flunk or will succeed. Don't just rely on what other people have to say, no one is here is a fortune teller. You have to do your part too if you want to join in bounties or campaigns.

I agree. No one can really tell which ICO will be successful. Because there are so many factors that we don't know or we  can't control. That's why I believed that there is still that element of luck and the proper time to really invest or join a bounty campaign. There are like hundreds of ICO's popping and having bounty, so you have to do is research which ICO you think will be good in the future. Its up to you and no one can really help you out on that. Do your thing and I'm sure that one way or another you will find one bounty that you join that will give you like a jackpot.
8686  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price drop? on: October 18, 2017, 09:39:07 AM
Is there any reason why the btc price is dropping that much today? Are people scared by the hard fork or why is it dropping?

I don't think they are scared of the hard fork. Why would someone be scared if you are getting free money on the 25th? Maybe its just a price correction that we have been witnessing today. And its not just on bitcoin market. I think the whole crypto is seeing a Tuesday or Wednesday bloodbath. But no worries, this price correction is inevitable, and you know what's next after this? Another bull run so just hodl on your bitcoin and don't panic mate.
8687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: affected by bitcoin Copy paste viruses on: October 18, 2017, 09:19:57 AM
Wow. What a news. Thank you for creating the topic on the forum. This is very useful information. I will be extremely attentive further. And I advise you to cheat the computer from various garbage. It can accumulate a lot and in such places that you will not find. Shocked

This virus has been in existence years ago, I don't know why you guys still haven't heard of this copy paste virus.

So its everyone's responsibility to keep your computer safe and not to click anything you see online. And to have a updated antivirus. You can check this previous thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1841658.0

Just be careful. Those hackers are really targeting crypto's more than ever. Better yet do a re-format just to be sure. And it you are getting a anti-virus, I recommend Kaspersky.
8688  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Altcoin party 2017 has just began! on: October 18, 2017, 08:39:48 AM
I just bought STR now. Amazing it went up 5x today. Aside from STR, DGB, XLM , XRP , BTS, SC are also going up. I also spare a good amount of BTC to average down just incase my current position may went down. Up next the secondary coins. May I know your crypto bags?
This is totally expected to happen.
So many people sold for huge losses without knowing that holding sometimes instead of claiming losses is actually and always good. What goes down will come back right up.

Actually, so many people were really lucky to sell their altcoins quickly and then buy back at the huge dips which is really going to pay off really good at the long run. Well played! Presently holding Qtum, Doge, RDD, Neo and Civic on the lows.

Strange though. I have seen altcoins getting red today. Am I missing something here? Or there are just few altcoins that are making good showing today? And it looks like $9B was wipeout already on the total marketcap and I'm seeing bitcoin as the most been affected by the slump.

Although it make sense to buy in this dip specially in altcoin, but I don't see it for long terms though. Maybe just a few joins has jump significantly because of a positive news like Stellar partnering with IBM but I don't see the whole altcoin market partying in the next couple of days.
8689  Economy / Speculation / Re: One reason why bitcoin may be surging on: October 17, 2017, 11:24:25 PM
"One reason why bitcoin may be surging: You can now buy it instantly on one major US exchange"
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/13/one-reason-why-bitcoin-may-be-surging-new-instant-buying.html
It is very possible this could be one of the reasons for the surge but mainly not the only reason. Otherwise, what would be the reason for the huge dump of altcoins ?

Having coinbase solve the problem of having to buy large amount of bitcoin is really a plus but must not have had that huge effect on bitcoin's value at least not that short while. I am really looking forward to some of the developments that would come up after the fork and see how it will all play out. November is so fast around the corner.

Correct, this is just one reason for the surge in price, however the main catalyst is the free money that we can get from the split on Oct 25. Investors are rushing to put money in the ecosystem. Just a week before that split let's see how this pan's out. If the money will just float on the ecosystem or people going back to altcoin.

Coinbase delivering instant purchases of bitcoin is definitely bullish, but im worried about the segwit2x hardfork. If Coinbase support segwit2x, all these noobs are going to be thinking they are buying Bitcoin but they will be buying B2X.

Once B2X is dumped and the price crashes and BTC recovers, those exchanges that list BTC as B2X, will be liable for major loses and confusion.

It sucks that we have to go through this again. The hardforkers don't get tired of getting defeated. Bitcoin will not fail.

Interesting thoughts. Definitely noobs 'might' fall for the trap and thinking that they bought bitcoins but instead get the clone coin. Did Coinbase says that they are supporting Segwit2x though?
8690  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gonna start trading again next week. on: October 17, 2017, 11:03:24 PM
Hi!
A month ago I started to trade with 800$ and within a week I reached 1100$ from trading in alt and btc.
But for now I am gonna start again but with 150$ i wanna reach 1000$
is that hard? What should I do exactly? How long should it take? I need max tips from PROFESSIONAL traders please 😂 Because this is all what I got for now and really need to pay for college and so

Why you still need to seek help when you have successfully gain almost 400$ in a week as you have said?

Just continue with what you do, don't fix it if ain't broken mate. I think you already did good. Just rinse and repeat. Of course everything will be difficult in the beginning because of the learning curve. But I think you can do it because you have been there. I just suggest that keep you emotions check and mitigate your risk. Just lay down your entry and exit point. Goodluck.
8691  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-17] Bitcoin Millionaire Erik Finman Challenges Jamie Dimon to a Boxing on: October 17, 2017, 10:43:18 PM
This is a classic from Erik Finman. I think Jamie Dimon has meet his match. This is another way of raising awareness for bitcoin economy and I hope more people will invest on bitcoin. And the match is to raise money for help victims in Puerto Rico. What's gonna be Dimon's answer then? C'mon man up and take the challenge. hahahaha

We have to wait and see if Dimon will reply back this is huge marketing ploy for bitcoin. The ball is at Dimon end's now let see how will he responds and see if he has the balls.
8692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Jamie Dimon Hurting or Helping Bitcoin? on: October 17, 2017, 10:22:10 PM
I've been reading so much lately about this douchebag and can't help but think that he's actually giving Bitcoin a lot more credibility simply by giving it so much attention. They say any publicity is good publicity and, in his case, as much as he tries to downplay the impact of Bitcoin I think he's actually giving it more credence in the process.

Initially he had hurt bitcoin by saying it is a fraud. But since then his words doesn't have any weight on bitcoin because he is just a manipulator and remember they bought a lot of bitcoin when it slump at $2900 because of his attacks. But as the investors getting used to his tirades and attacks, the market didn't react like before. On the other hand, it boost bitcoin because people suddenly became curious as what bitcoin is and most probably sway to put some investment on it. With that said, he positively help bitcoin gained prominence.
8693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to write a great Whitepaper? on: October 17, 2017, 01:28:12 PM
The important thing to remember, a lot of the whitepaper in this time has made without trying to determine the structure of the whitepaper itself, and especially the content is not suitable in my opinion.
For the more explanation about the whitepaper and why don't you just try to visit the google and try to search them all, You must know this not the correct place to learn about the whitepaper.
But if you are not know how to made a good whitepaper and why will you want to run ico I meant another future shit token or money grabber.
This means you don't have any knowledge about that.
investopedia and wikipedia seem to provide very good material for you to learn how to build whitepaper.

Why so aggresive? Smiley
I'm just asking about people's opinion about what they want to have or miss in a whitepaper.
There is a lot of crypto whitepapers out there and a lot of stupid articles and blogs about how to write them.
Asking the community as one source (and not the only one) of information is a part of research.

This means you don't have any knowledge about that.

And people are born with that kind of knowledge or they read and ask to learn it?
I'm reading and asking to learn as much as I can about the topic. Thanks for being helpful.

In fairness to @shinratensei_, he is not aggressive dude, we just hate people come here and asking questions that obviously they can answered it if they just used their better judgement. There's also a search button if I'm not mistaken. And we don't have to spoon feed everyone. Just do your own research and I think you should be fine.  Smiley

I think there's no universal format, but as what other have said, just stay to the point and explain what makes your coin unique and different from all the existing coins in the market. And don't go too technical because most of us here are not. Just used 'layman's term' so that we can fully understand about the coin and the direction of the project.
8694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Being Manipulated on: October 17, 2017, 12:55:44 PM
Hello y'all, I recently noticed something about Bitcoin, it seems that the countries that have more users of the crypto are manipulating the currency behind the scene. Forget the issue of it being demand and supply. Take a look at when China brought up a regulation on bitcoin in the country, the price of bitcoin dropped rapidly, so that the rich elites can buy much of the currency during that period since the price is now lower.

This is what am guessing though and I shouldn't be criticised since we're in a free world in which nothing is free. Grin Grin Grin

I think you have raised a valid point. That's how the market can be manipulated by certain individuals or entities from behind. You may add Jamie Dimon as one of the master manipulator when he announced that bitcoin is a fraud or like it to a tulip bulb. The price plummeted but they secretly bought huge amount of bitcoin at floor price and sold it when the price goes up again. It is very fraudulent, but no one can stop this practice because bitcoin is de-centralized. But as for China, I really believed that they didn't do it purposely, its that the timing of their sudden anti-bitcoin stance is not right.
8695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WORST LOSS? on: October 16, 2017, 09:47:04 AM
Neo, i bought it right before china cracked down on ICO's and the value plummeted causing me huge losses at the time. Still attempting to recover back to the levels i was at previously now. It's a slow climb just to get back to where i was originally at. Hopefully i can get there in the end. Has taught me to spread/diversify my portfolio more these days ( which is a good thing i guess ) instead of putting all my eggs into one basket.

Bad timing dude. And the China crackdown has really put a significant slump on NEO because we all know that its the Chinese Ethereum. Although it has somewhat regain, it will take some time before you can see some profits. Yes, its gonna be a hard lessons to learn, not just for you, but everyone has one way or another has experienced that kind of thing. So I guess all you can do its hodl and hope that it will recover soon to cover your losses. I have tokens though that I didn't sell and I thought it will rise soon, unfortunately the price plummeted already to more than half of its original value when it was listed on a exchange. Too bad.
8696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar Lumens on the Moon right now! on: October 16, 2017, 09:27:38 AM
Yes, it is possible. With insider trading, which in finance is forbidden because it is unfair (but it happens anyway) and in cryptos I don't even think it can be forbidden, due to technical reasons.

Insider trading in very much alive and as fraudulent as it can be nobody can prevent such thing. Its not forbidden but not encourage at the same time.

Do you see what I see? +173% on coinmarketcap! At first I thought that it's just that the price went crazy on some odd exchange like Etherdelta but no, the current price is accurate on Poloniex and Bittrex! Is it because of this news: http://fortune.com/2017/10/16/ibm-blockchain-stellar/?
I wonder whether it is possible to know about such price changes in advance somehow and not when it's too late to invest.

I guess we really need to check like everyday and see which coins is being pump lately. Maybe the news that you have posted has something to do with the pump lately. IBM is a big company and of course there's a lot of investors who will buy Stellar because it involves one of the biggest IT company in the world. Too bad we are late already.  Sad
8697  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Scams & ponzi schemes? on: October 16, 2017, 09:07:29 AM
Wealth transference from the older generation is happening as the Baby Boomers generation fades gracefully. The younger kids are far more tech savvy and have witnessed so much tech disruption that they are looking for “The Next Big Thing”. This wealth transference is already finding it’s way into Bitcoin and other areas that previously would have been overlooked by less tech savvy, high net worth individuals.

The other thing that the younger generation has, is time. They have the time to educate themselves on crypto. Open accounts. Monitor trades and chat rooms and be part of the ecosystem and learn about new opportunities before those who are settled and on the road to retirement. By investing the time and energy to absorb themselves in this space, they immediately have an edge and will trade the markets in a far more agile and profitable way.

Every generation will have its own working model some will work some will turn out as scam. Several generations have passed with different models. We have seen the era of oil, machines, gold, war, commodities among others. While some were able to live to the next generation, others couldn't surpassed the generation that invent them. Its no doubt the current generation quest for knowledge is something so alarming but at the same time its what its being optimistic to live to the next generation.

Correct, you can't compare the older generation against the tech or baby boomers of today. Each once has its own unique and distinct way to earn profit. Like the bankers of old and the dot com and now bitcoin technology. In another 50 years there would be another technology that they take over. One thing I've noticed though with they baby boomers is that they are really aggressive to find the next "it', but will simply exit and will go live next day to look for better investment opportunities. Unlike the old school, when it is stocks, they will stick to it up to the last end.
8698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Currencies In South Africa on: October 16, 2017, 07:41:36 AM
How can it possible to implement blockchain technology in a country where the majority of population live below minimal  life standards?

Exactly, South Africa, or Africa for that matter has a lot of problems to face and from what I understand crypto will have to stay behind for now. Problems like food, water and shelter should be the #1 priority. And besides is the infrastructure ready in Africa? But it still not lost in there, maybe 5-10 years, they could be the next hub for the booming crypto industry. But not today, they should face the major issues first and let's talk about crypto later. Although I believed that there are bitcoin community in Africa, but they are still minority. Let's just wait 5-10 years and I'm sure Africa is different by then specially in their infrastructure that will support bitcoin and crypto market to grow.
8699  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia Plans to Beat China To State-Owned Cryptocurrency? on: October 16, 2017, 06:54:18 AM
What happened?
According to Russian media, Russia’s president Vladimir Putin has decided that Russia should launch cryptoruble – a state-owned cryptocurrency. The decision was allegedly announced by Nickolay Nikiforov, the country’s minister of telecom and mass communications.
https://goo.gl/oULZAR

Wait, wasn’t that about China?
You have a good eye! A few days earlier, a Chinese official Yao Qian reportedly called for a state-owned digital currency as well. Looks that both countries are now in a race for a state-controlled cryptocurrency.

Why is it important?
Russia is almost as hard on crypto market as China. Although the country hasn’t officially banned ICOs and cryptocurrencies, Russia’s officials including Putin himself do call for crypto regulation.

What’s so special about cryptoruble anyway?
Limited emission. Closed distribution. No option to mine it. And, most likely, the taxation model equal to income tax.

More about this and other news + ICO tips here https://t.me/yoken/54

I don't think they have plans to beat China. But they want to have their own crypto currency for a long time now. That's why the talk that they are bitcoin friendly is completely rubbish. It just so happened that China wants to have a state controlled crypto currency of their own. And all the news surrounding their love for cryptocurrency is not true. Initially, there have been talks that they are going to put up a mining farm and Putin loves Ethereum, but all of a sudden they made a sudden U-turn again the cryptocurrency market. Its just about time that they show their true colors. China and Russia already made drastic changes already. We all know that their own cryptocurrency will fail in the long run.
8700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: October 12, 2017, 12:16:37 PM
I'm Kyrie Irving fan so as of this season i hope that the Celtics will have a great year and Kyrie will unlish his Mamba Mentality this entire season. And i hope that Gordon Hayward will have his all-star year ones again!

What do you mean Mamba Mentality? There's only one Kobe and it can't be replicated not even Kyrie. He has his own mentality but I don't think we can compare them both. Yes, I'm hoping that he has a good start being a Celtics though, However, its just the start of the season so its gonna be a long way for him to really proved his worth on the team. He should get over with the Lebron and Cavs and just focus on his games as the new leader of the Celtics. Gordon Hayward is already past his prime, he can contribute but not like before. He will have his moments, but I doubt he can bring his A game once more.
