8781  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USB Miners on: July 11, 2014, 09:40:19 AM
I've heard that USB miners aren't really useful for mining anymore but I really want to experience what mining is like, even if I'm not really getting anything more than a few satoshis. With them being pretty outdated I was wondering if anyone had one or two left over from when they actually were useful, that would be willing to send them to me. I could probably pay for shipping if need be. I understand that even the cost of the electric needed to use it, is more than I will get out f it, but it is nothing something I will be doing long. Like I said, kinda just want the experience.
Thank you all in advance.

Most miners out on ebay are obselete in profitability.

Dont forget the power costs when mining.

Good to play with if you want to mine for a little project.  But USB's stick miners are pretty much not for profit.

is any miner really for profit? Cheesy
Not much, you have to invest a lot and have cheap electrical cost. Mining is really all for big miners now, small miners are already out of the game.
8782  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular Bitcoin Game! | 700M+ Bets | 390k+ BTC Wagered | on: July 11, 2014, 09:28:16 AM
A quick sneak peak at one of our many giveaways we will be doing for Primedice 3 launch...

... The first person to unlock every achievement will receive a massive 25 BITCOIN Smiley And this is definitely not going to be our biggest giveaway either.. Stay tuned Smiley

Achievements are related to number of bets, wagered, chat activity, referring players, profit etc. There's a total of 26 of them. They are definitely not impossible to achieve! I suspect it won't take long for someone to take the cake.

Ah, so referral links will go live? Will we get credit for referrals and money they deposit? The giveaway seems like a good marketing trick  Cheesy. I can see that drawing in a flurry of gamblers trying to desperately win the jackpot haha. Looking forward to the site just like everyone else  Grin.

I thought they were the affiliate links in the present PD but perhaps they will be different not sure how old accounts transition to the new system or if it instant unlocks some of the award tiers Smiley
AFAIK , the present affiliate links aren't working now. Stunna said that they should work in PD3

You don't have to post this here in this thread only fill the form.

well cause in the form theres something thing that say must 'link to enrollment post'
so i thought that i must post that in here

http://prntscr.com/41jk8b
That was probably for last month's payment. This payment system was first introduced after last payment, where people did not fill out the form and had to rely on the enrollment post on this thread.
8784  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: July 11, 2014, 08:25:10 AM
Just enrolled in this campaign

I believe I need to make a post so here is my current stats

Code:
Username - Maidak
Postcount - 1318
Bitcoin Address - 1DVXqAaUKegBi6XmhgMsNb7LvEwhFdTyHh

If there is anything I am missing to finish enrollment please let me know!

Read the OP on page one. We're now supposed to fill out a form, instead of posting like that.

Also, when filling out the form, fill out the application part, and then it takes you to the "Collect Payment" form. Leave textboxes there blank and submit.

I already filled out the enrollement form when I get forwarded to the collect payment just leave it all blank and submit an that's all?
Yes, when it's time, 17th of the month to claim payment, you would have to choose the option, collect payment and fill out the required form.
8785  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 0.03 Loan on: July 11, 2014, 08:15:21 AM
Why do you keep taking out loans? You know, it really looks like it is purely for trust.
Not even for trust, I am in need of money and Stunna only pays on 17 July. I need it by Tuesday, 15 July for a gift purchase.
8786  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 0.03 Loan on: July 11, 2014, 08:04:40 AM
What's your collateral?
Apologies but I do not have collateral at the moment.

You can't earn much from referrals, and you aren't suppose to include only a referral link in the Thread.

You can't earn much from referrals? Tongue

https://blockchain.info/address/1JiXABxQWjuARiAnKNWJpfEQ2RSvZq4Zxd

Never bought a single bitcoin, about half is referral earnings... Grin

That looks good, however, not every member can be that successful in advertisements. That is why I said not much since I don't think everyone can manage around 1000 referrals.

Some people might just be a newbie in bitcoins and just wanted to get their hands on some USB miners just for fun purposes. Good for people who are trying to learn about mining and do not want to waste electical costs and too much heat.

Primedice3 is soon to launch. And the official countdown is about to start.

When I say so (I will send out a mass PM when), all members will need to change their signature daily to create a "count down" effect.

Example:

On the 18th (Not actual date just example) I PM everyone saying change your signature to "PrimeDice3 launching in 10 days". Everyone will do so.
On the 19th everyone changes their signature to "PrimeDice3 launching in 9 days". Everyone will do so.
On the 20th everyone changes their signature to "PrimeDice3 launching in 8 days". Everyone will do so.

This will only take you guys about 30 seconds a day to do. If you for some reason you miss a day that's perfectly fine. Just make sure when your posting your signature always aligns up with the current count down date.

No one will be disqualified for not doing this, but it'd be greatly appreciated for the very small amount of work it'll take for you guys Smiley.

Cheers guys & as always thanks for the continued support!!

Finally PD3, waited for a long time. This is going to change he style of gamblings. But just a question, do you have time to PM every single one of us? There's like over 100 participants and it can take a long time.
8791  Other / Meta / Re: Profile picture on: July 11, 2014, 07:19:35 AM
How can i set up an image as profile picture?

It seems like it has been disabled since the forum MITM a few months ago, but i would like to set up one so, do i need a better rank as forum member or is that disabled forever?
Since the last forum hack, the options of setting avatars was disabled permanently for this version of forum by theymos. They suffered a hack which forced them to do so. Forum member group cannot enable your changing of avatars.

I just wonder, someone please explain how exactly adding a little picture as your avatar makes whole forum compromised for hacker's attacks. :/

Maybe some type of injection attack?

By the way, the topic's question should be added to the newbie FAQ, since its common topics about it(but still less than the ones about activity and waiting time)
Not mug newbies read about the FAQs, they just create a topic and ask questions immediately without researching much.
8792  Other / Off-topic / Re: Freebitco.in earn bitcoins using Martingale betting system on: July 10, 2014, 10:38:04 PM
I have actually tested this script a while ago, I bust in around 30minutes. The script is just betting at x5 and increase slowly. Yes it may work in the short run but definitely not for long runs.
8793  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular Bitcoin Game! | 700M+ Bets | 390k+ BTC Wagered | on: July 10, 2014, 10:32:14 PM
Many people say gambling is just luck. But it isnt just luck! There are techniques of guessing what should come next (above or under) The script calculates the probability of the next roll. It analyzes the last 100 rolls! Sure, you can never give a guarantee that its right, but you can increase your probability of winning! Also the script isnt using martingale, as we all know that martingale is bullshit.

Martingale is not bullshit if you apply it cleverly (not necessarily doubling your bets with each roll). I guess (lol) you assume that the faucet remembers previous rolls too and levels out the chosen probability (payout multiplier) with the next ones, i.e. after a series of consecutive losing rolls (that would skew the probability) should necessarily come winning ones, right? Grin
Is bullshit ,trust me you can lost all your money very easy is just a time question  Wink

Yes but surely you can say that about all gambling? Doesn't matter what system or what you're betting you can still lose all your money very easily. Obviously there's no guaranteed method to win money with gambling, and Martingale is no different, but it's usually safer if you just make a couple of bets but keep playing and you'll lose eventually.
Yes there's not a perfect system and I can say martingale is not the safest one

Well, if martingale (or its variants) is not the safest one, what is the one then? I'm all ears (and surely not only me)! Roll Eyes

1.8 payout at 140% increase on loss  Wink
The configurations you said is still martingale. Any strategy that requires you to up your bet after a loss is martingale. You will always lose in the long run.

If you can mine with your CPU you should go for it , you can mine Ducknote or Monero.  Use this pool https://minergate.com/ You sign up here , download the client and start mining , easy Smiley

Im pretty new myself .
Well, he's using Pentium to mine. Everyone can mine for it but the electrical cost may be high you may never make ROI as the exchange rate is quite low.
8795  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Vanity addresses? on: July 10, 2014, 10:27:12 PM
There are approximately 120,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 possible addresses that start with 1bitco (that's 1.2 X 1044).

There are approximately 80,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 possible addresses that do NOT start with 1bitco (that's 8 X 1052).

So, for every address that you find that starts with 1bitco, you need to search through on average approximately 666,666,667 addresses.

Able to do the maths for "ojm" Smiley ?

http://bitcoinvanitygen.com/

how do I use it in my wallet?

(Bitcoin-QT)
Use the command: importprivkey (private key here)
Make sure to find one services that allows you to generate split vanity key. If no, the security will be 0 since the server knows your private key.

I'm interested in this too, can you find a website that provides that?
I'm new, I can't tell how secure is which website Cheesy
I have used https://vanitypool.appspot.com/ they offer split key generation and https protection. However, their fees is a bit too high.
8796  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USB Miners on: July 10, 2014, 10:22:38 PM
They are very slow, but they can be ok if you get them for fair price, which is really hard. Paying more than 1$ for a USB miner is waste of money. Note that you will need at least 100 of them to get some BTC out of it.

I am not familiar with those. What's the deal with cooling them and where do you plug 100 pieces? Some special device? How much does it cost?

he was a bit sarcastic, ironic, whatever Cheesy

has anyone tought of actually putting your mines in a refrigerator?

would that be harmful?

No that would be ok solution, but your refrigerator will not be able to cooldown that amount of energy. They are simply not efficient enough for that job. Even 3 kw AC has problems with cooling down a decent rig.

daaamn, how about a freezer?
could the rigs keep the temperature above freezing Cheesy
If you ever take it out, water vapour can and will condense on the ASICs, it can be damaged. I don't think ASICs can operate in such a temperature and your freezer will have a hard time keeping hthe temperature low and use a lot of electricity.
8797  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Needs More Help on: July 10, 2014, 12:57:00 PM
Help! I have started pulling my hair out. My computer is a Pentium Dual Core CPU E5300 with an Intel G41 Express Chipset incorporated graphics. I can not get Guiminer to work. Am I screwed with these graphics? If so what should I get that will work but won't bankrupt me? Thanks......Sandy

wooot

why we we want to know that

never CPU mine!

mine with your GPU, it mines like 5x better

CPU is for CPU coins, GPU is for GPU coins so they both have different market
Let's take litecoin as an example. They said scrypt can only be CPU mined, not GPU or ASICs. However, in some time, GPU Scrypt miner was developed and later ASICs. No coin can ever be resistant forever, and not every coin can be a successful coin.

why would anyone make a CPU coin when a GPU one would be much more effective?
They most probably want the majority of the community to be able to be involved in the mining. Also, most people have GPU being used for Bitcoin mining. They can easily shift those over, those with smaller rigs cannot make much from it.

How to know if I am currently enrolled in this program? Care to give me a link?
Once you have filled up the form accurately, you have enrolled in the campaign already.
8799  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: is it profitable to start mining today?? on: July 10, 2014, 12:08:26 PM
Not much or even none hardware can reach ROI. Difficulty increases very fast. Some of those companies manufacture bad quality products and some charge too high. Some do not even deliver their products.
8800  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: day trading - what's the catch? on: July 10, 2014, 12:00:56 PM
what is day-trading?
Trading bitcoins on exchanges and trying to make a profit. I may be wrong.

you mean like, if there's a difference between one exchange and an another one?

for example bitstamp 620$ and mtgox 615$

and you buy on mtgox and sell on bitstamp?
Nope, that's called arbitrage trading. I think it is using strategies to know when to buy and sell and try to profit.
