881  Economy / Reputation / Re: @Cantsay - possible abuse of merits + alt accounts on: December 04, 2023, 02:11:00 PM
~snip~
In other hand nothing people can not do to grow Alt accounts, so after a proper investigation and it's what a cantsay did, i think its does not make a sense, but I'm emphasising on proper investigation, before justification

You obviously haven't read anything in this topic, or you have and you still don't understand anything. There is enough evidence for a well-founded suspicion that @Cantsay is trying to earn merits in the way described - and besides, he didn't even try to defend himself, but wisely remained silent in the hope that everything would be forgotten.

Stop Saving Your Bitcoin (and other crypto) Addresses In Exchanges And Wallets
Period. Full Stop. End Of Line.
~snip~

Maybe this topic was more suitable for the B&H board if it already goes in the direction of warning beginners, because the others should already know such basic things. However, regardless of all the warnings, a large part of users still consider CEX as a kind of "crypto banks", and their owners encourage them to continue to think so, not only by providing them with expensive service fees, but also by directly calling them idiots who will otherwise lose everything.

For those who advise hardware wallets, this is good advice, but with a warning that buying such devices does not mean any absolute security, especially for those who want to share your backups with third parties, or have some other very questionable intentions. It's a step in the right direction, but only the first step - people are still the weakest link regardless of how they store their digital assets.
883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin Bar in Sofia, Bulgaria looks Interesting on: December 04, 2023, 11:14:23 AM
OP, I understand that you want to share your excitement with everyone else, but was it really necessary to put up so many pictures - and if you can't do without it, you could at least reduce them a bit so that all those browsing the forum with slow connections or on smartphones don't have to wait for your post to load...

I can't say how good a business idea such a bar is, but I can agree with @Rikafip that it's not a good idea when it comes to the privacy of anyone visiting such places. A few days ago we had a discussion about wearing clothes with the BTC logo and I think most people think it's a bad idea, and all those who think so would probably think twice before entering such a bar.

Something similar, only in the UK -> Satoshi’s Place, U.K. Bury, Greater Manchester
884  Economy / Reputation / Re: @Cantsay - possible abuse of merits + alt accounts on: December 04, 2023, 10:29:57 AM
@BabyBandit, in general, you didn't do anything wrong, because everyone can do whatever they want with their sMerits - but I personally think that posts of that type are not something that deserves merits. As you can see from this topic, various methods are used by individuals to get merits, but apparently this is quite normal behavior for some members of the forum.
885  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of Clipboard Virus! on: December 03, 2023, 03:21:05 PM
I know that Windows defender sucks. At times, I would even use scripts to disable windows defender and auto update. But with time, I realized that, we need at least windows defender, even if it sucks at it's job. You know? Like a basic defense. It's better then having nothing. Someone might say, why not just use other third party antivirus? My device is old, I try to install as minimal as possible to keep the load minimal. For me, it felt, heavy when using an antivirus. Background running services makes it more worse. That's why.

Then you have a problem that is clearly detected and the solution of which you have to work on, and that is buying a new computer - by that I mean a really new one from the store, not a used one. Be sure to take into account that the computer has at least 8 GB of working memory, which is a minimum for pleasant work, and also that it has a solid processor and graphics card.

Until then, follow the advice from my previous post and don't use pirated software - and if you need a cheap license for a program, you can try to find it in Digital goods. Of course, be careful who you trade with.
886  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: X.com (Twitter) is approving phishing website ads, beware on: December 03, 2023, 02:56:18 PM
X.com (Twshitter) has now become the easiest medium for scammers to promote their scams.
~snip~

Hasn't it always been like that? The new owner just raised it to an even higher level, considering that he managed to turn a company that was successful into a company that lost millions of users, so it should not be surprising that someone found one phishing link, there are certainly thousands of them.

Although what is the difference between that platform and other social networks and communication applications that have essentially become tools for scammers and hackers who earn loads of money in a relatively easy way?
887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Now Hiring ~25 Experienced Campaign Managers who want to work for shitcoins on: December 03, 2023, 02:37:07 PM
  • The "$500 to $1,000 for One Week" starts as a combination of some "Real Money" and mostly credits* for our valuable projects (*When you see our video some of you will be amazed! Those credits can turn into exciting amounts of Real Money, in the near future)
    ~snip~
In other words, everyone who is chosen for this job will mostly get some worthless tokens/shitcoins that they may be able to exchange for something the OP calls "Real Money" one day in the future.

Given that Bitcoin is not mentioned as a payment method at all, this has a place in Altcoins Services.
888  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of Clipboard Virus! on: December 03, 2023, 11:51:56 AM
And this is the third time I have gotten infected with the clipboard virus. I don't know why I always end up with the particular virus.

I made my first transaction about 10 years ago and I never had any problems with any viruses/malware, and the whole philosophy is to stop using pirated software and visiting websites that are known for distributing viruses/malware. In addition, do not accidentally click on links from unknown senders that you receive in your e-mail or via social networks.

Though I don't know how to properly define this thing as a virus or malware. I don't use any third-party antivirus, but my Windows Defender is always on. So I have no idea how I got infected. Windows defender seems to not be working regarding this virus. I guess, other antivirus programs won't work either. There is no way to fix this.
~snip~

WD is something you get with Windows OS and should not be considered premium protection, so even though some will tell you that all AVs are equal (useless), that is simply not true. I don't want to advertise any such product, so I leave it to anyone who wants to know more and knows how to use search engines.

If you want to change something about the problem you are constantly running into, you have to change the way you use your computer and the internet, otherwise no antivirus or operating system will protect you.

USA will have their elections in 2024 so a year from now we may have a different leader and go in a different direction.
It is annoying but we can survive it.

People change in your country, but the fact is that politics remains the same - so I don't see anything changing when it comes to Bitcoin and mixers. Right now you have a president who invites dead people to join him on stage and shakes hands with the air, and you can choose between him or the one who attempted a coup in his term. I don't see an opportunity for any changes, only for more new chaos, whichever of the two becomes president again.
890  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit spamming [report] on: December 03, 2023, 11:06:28 AM
Instead of all of you wasting time on that Faketoshi troll, wouldn't it be better to put him on ignore and show him clearly that we are not interested in his nonsense? Every participation in the topic he starts or reply to his post only gives him an incentive to be even more active and therefore to promote his fake bitcoin.
891  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: A scammer selling Bitcoin for $1000 on: December 02, 2023, 03:45:23 PM
~snip~
I will support this scammer's flag now, and I hope everyone follows OP's approach in exposing scammers and warning the community.

Speaking of flags, is it logical to assume that all those who are in opposition to that flag are actually @humerh3 alts? However, if we know that scammers always make a big net to catch as many fish as possible, that is not something we should be surprised by.
892  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 02, 2023, 03:26:02 PM
~snip~
If it comes to that I don't think they'd stop at shutting down the forum. There'd be arrests too... It wouldn't be the first time they do something like that either!

I am quite convinced that "they" have the real IP addresses and all the data of those who advertised (and are still advertising what will be banned on the forum) and that it is quite realistic that such an operation could be launched at any time in the future. Forget VPN, Tor, proxy and everything that supposedly provides privacy, there are back doors for everything, even for the servers where this forum is located.

It's not about mixers at all because they are basically not illegal and only a small part of the transactions that pass through them come from illegal sources, but "they" are actually looking for weak points in the system through which they will then "satanize" all those who have anything to do with what we can call "Satoshi Bitcoin".

For those who have read what BlackRock wrote in their request for a spot ETF, it may be a little clearer in which direction they are trying to steer Bitcoin. If someone publicly declares that he leaves himself free to not support the chain behind which the majority stands in the event of a BTC fork, and at the same time he will probably have huge amounts of BTC in the custodial service (Coinbase), some things become a little clearer.

In addition, we see how the US authorities throw out unsuitable players from the game and secure the ground for the privatization of BTC, and in addition, they slowly start preparing miners to filter transactions. Maybe a few years ago, BTC was a small baby, as Congressman Sherman said, but obviously that has come to an end and the rules of the game will change drastically.
893  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: A scammer selling Bitcoin for $1000 on: December 01, 2023, 04:27:43 PM
Whoever gets scammed by this scammer definitely deserves it, because what else can you say about someone who decides to buy 1 BTC for $1000 that is worth $30k+ on the market? Some advertise Bitcoin as magic money, but only the most naive can believe that it can produce so much magic Roll Eyes
894  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 01, 2023, 04:00:34 PM

So, just to clear things out. In a month from now, anyone wearing a mixer signature is officially a terrorist!  Tongue

In the eyes of those for whom Bitcoin is a thorn in the side, anyone who promotes or uses a mixer today is in some way a terrorist, and after January 1, 2024, they will find another reason to call us terrorists. When I see that the admin mentions the possible shutdown of the forum, the banning of Bitcoin in the US and the possible criminal prosecution of all those who would promote mixers in their signature, then it is more than clear why this is happening.

I am currently not advertising or managing any advertising for mixers so I welcome this change! Well done to all involved.

Who knows, maybe promoting gambling that uses Bitcoin deposits is next in line to be banned? As things turned out, maybe we will have discussions in codes, so we will have to come up with code words for mixers, Bitcoin, transactions, mining...
895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you see individual satoshi becoming valuable? on: December 01, 2023, 11:16:41 AM
As each halving is passing and this block reward decrease has started sounding like a big deal to me. Does anyone else also see individual satoshi becoming valuable in future?

Well, this whole frenzy about ordinals has shown that some people think that individual satoshis can be worth a lot of money, regardless of the current price of BTC, halvings or anything else. It's not something interesting to me personally, but I can understand that some people want to monetize everything possible that has to do with Bitcoin.

Besides, I don't see the reason why people are so obsessed with how much one satoshi will be worth in the future - why look at things at such a low level? Perhaps it would be easiest to conclude that every satoshi you have today will be worth a lot more in the future, and everything else is just speculation and throwing around random numbers.
896  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New here and wants to make some money on: December 01, 2023, 10:15:51 AM
Bitcointalk is not a job-searching site; it's just a community forum about bitcoin/crypto where you can offer services broadly relating to this niche. Perhaps try job/talent-searching sites instead? Like, we don't even know what your skills are.
~snip~

Basically, that would be true, but if we take into account all the signature campaigns+bounty campaigns and everything else that is on offer, then considering the offer of "jobs" it is logical that people come here to work. The perception that has been created in some parts of the world around this forum is completely different from some other parts of the world, and this is a fact that we witness every day.

Maybe it would be best to tell every beginner "if you can offer something to the community, the forum will give you a chance to do something for yourself".
897  Other / Meta / Re: Is it accepted to call member criminal in a thread - no proof, no context... on: December 01, 2023, 09:44:29 AM
Hi, I recently got a shout (you know, oversized text in big-bold letter) by one of the usual thread polluting creatures that we have to live with in the forum calling me "criminal". Is this all right with the rules of the forum? do we need to live with this just because we want to have a discussion?

There are also a lot of worse words used by some members to address others, but I don't think we can expect everyone to behave in a civilized manner, especially if the forum allows such a form of communication (in most cases). Considering the topic and the person who calls you a "criminal", I'm surprised that this didn't happen before, and that some much worse words were not used.

In the end, it is your choice with whom you will communicate on the forum, and it is more than obvious that with some members any discussion always leads to ad hominem attacks, which speaks volumes about them as people.
898  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 will not pay anyone for the last week /Sinbad campaign/ on: November 30, 2023, 05:50:03 PM
What I don't understand though is whether those who got asked by Binance to explain their connection with that address used Binance to deposit their signature campaign earnings, or they first got money on their own non-custodial wallets and then moved it to Binance?
I mean, neither of those are smart things to do but I am curious how deep Binance actually goes in their investigation.

I think that in the event that the funds went directly from the campaign address to CEX, there can be no doubt as to where they came from and that is a problem for anyone who received payments in that way - while in the event that there is another address in between, there can be justified suspicion that the client is not directly connected to the mixer.

I think that CEX never seriously analyzed the transactions in the sense that it froze funds that have to do something with "mixed coins" that are not directly related to any major crime. In other words, I never got bad feedback from the people I sent payments to their B accounts, but of course I never allowed those transactions to be in any way connected to the addresses I used in the campaigns. In other words, even though the coins were "mixed", it was never a problem for the exchange.
899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Joy of forgotten Bitcoin accounts... on: November 30, 2023, 04:57:18 PM
Speaking of forgotten things, I've also had some discoveries over the years, although I've always been very careful with Bitcoins and I haven't (at least as far as I know) lost anything. Given that I started collecting dogecoins almost 10 years ago and that at that time 1000 of those coins were worth even $0.14, at one point I collected them all in one pile and discovered that I had enough of them to buy a car in a medium range. After that I remembered another "forgotten project" and dug up another forgotten treasure.

The bad news is that I didn't sell any of it because I simply didn't need the money then, and if Mr. Mars doesn't perform his magic again, it will just be another in a series of stories that I will remember. I won't regret it though, it's just money Smiley

Working for a mixer and depositing what they pay you in a CEX, even more by doing it just like that, without going through a previous coinjoin for example, I don't quite understand, I would appreciate it if someone could explain it to me.

It's obvious that some members of this forum still haven't learned the difference between custodial and non-custodial wallets, but they also obviously weren't familiar with what they were promoting. When this situation happened last time, we did not have such "problems" - no one complained and everyone was paid.
