901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: August 28, 2023, 01:55:23 PM

I might add up some micro loan for this bet if I will experience this kind of golden opportunity. I knew this bet is only possible with fixed match but there’s no really a 100% can’t lose bet even on fixed match since there’s a chance that the match will be caught as fixed match and your bets will be confiscated for being involved.

I don't think adding a micro loan for such bet is reasonable. Taking a loan is like a leverage and that is risky, it is better to bet base on your capacity and not relying on what additional loan for it. Worse of it is that there is no guarantee that you will have the winning so why thinking of adding loan, some match are fixed which could be discovered. Like the example you gave, some times you see matches stopped on the way or suspended if the organizer believe there is fixing on it, so in such case you either lose your bet money or it is returned to you.

It's not actually a bad idea to take a loan for such a purpose, people who would do this I guess are more than 100% sure. While it is risky, he plans to make money out of thin air. I'm sure he'd enjoy it if the fixed fight is right.

I'd be tempted to do this as well if there is just someone who will lend some without collateral and hope it will return 2x at least to pay for the interest. However, it feels like the question is meant for us to dream a bit while it can't hardly be real.

902  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? on: August 28, 2023, 01:32:09 PM

10 years will really be a long bear but since you have already been holding since this bottom, it wouldn't be worth it to sell anymore unless you really need the money for a purpose. You just have to wait when that time would come or wait til bullrun.

Unfortunately, more people are into crypto for the purpose of making a profit. You can't blame them after all people promote crypto as a hedge against the inflation that is affecting everyone.
903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: August 28, 2023, 09:00:46 AM

Depends on who exactly said 100% chance of winning. If it was the organization that held the sports event, I'd go all in. If it's just someone who overheard that the fight is a fixed fight, then probably just 10%. But this is if I see people are actually betting on that team as well.

When it's a fixed fight people usually know but still leave doubt like Ngannou vs Fury. Pretty sure this is a fixed fight but it may still depend on who is running the show and sometimes politics are involved.
904  Economy / Gambling / Re: Concept of Halal Casino on: August 27, 2023, 04:30:32 PM
It looks like clickbait and when I saw this video it actually has nothing to do with Halal gambling but the video is just giving advice about something bad but don't forget about doing good.
I am a Muslim and I am also a gambler even though my religion prohibits gambling or it is considered a sin I still do it even though it looks bad it violates the rules in my religion the most important thing is that my thoughts do not harm other people and also I don't forget to do good to others or give alms to people the less able.
Sin or not, my gambling activity is only Allah who judges and my duty is to do according to destiny, which I have to do well and also help others and also sometimes when I get a win from gambling I buy food which I distribute to neighbors who are underprivileged and even though they are famous. as a gambler but it is my obligation to continue to do good without harming others.

Basically, he meant that Muslims shouldn't go to casinos all because they have a room for Muslims to pray. It doesn't mean that a casino with a room for Muslims to pray means this casino is a Halal Casino. One Muslim going to a casino is already a sin, and when you gamble that's another sin.

Sometimes they don't feed it like they are explaining it to a kid in order for a man to understand. Listeners sometimes just have to take the hint.

905  Economy / Economics / Re: India just bought 1 million barrels of oil using rupees instead of USD on: August 27, 2023, 02:54:36 PM
This looks bad for the USD if it continues. Many major oil producers don't like the US. Saudi Arabia used to be a very good friend to the US and now they act like an enemy. What did the US do to anger these people I don't know. It looks like the US lost their biggest and the only partner in the Middle East. If you can't buy oil with the USD, then why would anybody hold it anymore? The USD is slowly losing its biggest use case which is buying oil. When the USD dies, hopefully bitcoin will take over and maybe then BRICS countries will start using bitcoin. That would be a great win for everybody.

Even in history, Saudi has had no choice but to become friends with the US for their security which the petrodollar was created. Now that Saudi and Iran are at peace, they don't need security anymore. And they have a new ally as well in the form of China. This is all China's initiative of course it is the "Adversary" that we knew. But seemingly countries that have been sanctioned by the US are uniting.

As long as India doesn't use Yuan, I guess the US will not see it as a very offending issue. They are friends as far as Mody knows. he needs the US if war breaks in the India-China borders.
906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: presuring someone into Bitcoin investment on: August 27, 2023, 01:54:03 PM
You need to prove to them you made a big profit after you invested in BTC. That's what is going to convince them to invest. The skeptical mind always needs something of proof to believe in. Apparently, all people are skeptical when it comes to buying something they don't understand.

And forgive my mouth, old people always have a hard time understanding why it has value. It takes a lot of grasping when I told my uncle, it has value because people buy it. He thought for a while asking why would someone buy it. Til today I have not convinced him to buy  Grin
907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: August 27, 2023, 09:57:10 AM
It is true that Trump is a big name and he will definitely get a lot of views no matter what he does, he could start the whole apprentice or whatever show again and he would get a lot more views now then he ever did back in the day, because he used to be the president. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that he is the candidate for the GOP, he could be in trouble right now with the law but that doesn't mean that it's going to be that easy to handle, we are talking about something bigger.

We should be realizing that it's not going to be that much available situation for me and I think it should be just too obvious to me. He will be the candidate and there is a good chance he will also lose again because of who he is, not who his opponent is.

I find it really surprising that the Republicans keep holding on to Trump given all these lawsuits against him. It's true that it feels like a witch hunt right now and it could rally more of his followers to close the ranks and support him more. But the real question is how many of the swing candidates are being convinced to join the Republican or Democratic vote. In the case of Trump losing his lawsuits I think that it would lead to more people abandoning him than following him. For the Republican party it seems as abet on the lawsuits and hoping that Trump won't lose them. In the end all it would take is one bad selected Jury and the dream of Trump winning another election is over. For the Democrats it doesn't seem any better though, with Biden being so old all it takes is a few medical issues and he couldn't a second time. It's hard to place any serious bet right now on the next president, because so many things could happen that change the picture completely.

Trump gained more supporters as he became the 4x champ of this indictment. Many of these supporters see these indictments as election intervention to stop him from running. Yep, they are paying attention for this is how badly they played the game. They wouldn't just leave Trump to win and be vindicated so they wanna put him in a cell.

But the man is just smarter and does have money to fight back. The polls are showing Trump winning and even DeSantis or Ramaswamy has no chance of stopping it.
908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: August 27, 2023, 09:24:23 AM

I never consider gambling as a major source of my income as it is a religiously and socially taboo/illegal practice in my country. Moreover, gambling has been declared illegal by the government and legal system. Therefore, even if I want to, I cannot directly participate in gambling, and even if I participate in gambling, I cannot add it as a source of my income. If gambling is ever legalized by the government in my country, then gambling must be considered a fixed portion of my income.

No one is planning to make gambling their source of income. Those pros most probably didn't plan it from the start, it was sort of a hobby and they were getting good at it, and the bulb lit brightly when they realized it could be after all they won thousands already besides the fact they had a source of income as well. They were just adding their hobby as a source of income.

I'm also not into gambling, especially casino games, I'm more into sports but sometimes I tend to play when there is nothing for me to bet on. Still not good in any of these but I keep trying our luck.
909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: China crackdown against gambling streaming on: August 27, 2023, 07:59:09 AM
China is such a pain in the ass. They are fighting anything that's fun for the people. I think it is because China don't want their citizens to have fun. The Chinese gov wants the citizens to work like a robot and do nothing else. Eat, drink, work and sleep. That's it. (shit and pee too) Trading crypto? Nope. Watch gambling? Nope. Getting drunk? Nope, you will have a bad social credit score. How can anybody live under a regime like that? It is crazy. I drink whenever I want, fuck whenever I want and I gamble whenever I want. Fuck China.

And there is a reason for that of course. Which any government would also like to do to their people.
This crackdown is due to them suspecting the live-streaming features may be used for illegal gambling. I think will not affect the crypto but only the fiat casinos on their platforms where the 86Research’s analyst says this will eliminate 20% to 70% of live streaming revenue.

So this crackdown doesn't involve Twitch or youtube streamers.
910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take to play casino? on: August 26, 2023, 04:33:02 PM

Be dependent on your skills and you will learn a technique but first learn the game with a capital. Every loss teaches you a lesson. One lesson could be to stop while you are yet not losing yet thousands or another lesson such as never giving up until you hit big.

What does it take to play casino? It's just your audacity. Heck, you can play with just free spin. Or use the faucets to get a few satoshis and bet them. When luck is on your side, you may win.
911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: August 26, 2023, 07:55:55 AM
there should be a higher adrenaline rush if using borrowed money. I know it's not recommended, because it will definitely be difficult for us to pay off the debt plus the interest. but some people must have tried extreme things. I have friends like that. Well, it was profitable at first, but when they lost, they had to endure how to pay off debts and how to support themselves.
don't think the adrenaline rush someone got from using borrowed money would be worth to pay off debts when they are losing big time.
i guess the reason many are using borrowed money for gambling are the fact that they could turn around their lives out of nothing, just one luck is all it takes but man things always could go wrong.
same thing with using borrowed money.
I think it is more like being addicted to gambling will make you do that. That's more reason why people will do everything even borrowing money with interest just to keep on gambling. It's like a cycle where they keep on borrowing money and keep on losing in the hope of winning. However, whatever they do, big winning does not really come in to their hands.
They will also come to the point that they will borrow money to pay off their debts so they can borrow money again ang again.

And people are willing to loan gamblers because they know that they will go in debt and maybe lost their home, cars and everything in the name of gambling. That's why it's really dangerous to really go and loan until you don't know how to pay your debts except some things that you own.

So very hard to see people going down this path. Seen some friends of mine becoming so addicted that now they are homeless and their lifestyle has really change. And it affected not just him but for his children as well. This is the worst gambling can bring to us.

It's sad to see how it ends for someone but there is always a consequence to whatever we do.  A gambler who loses everything and becomes homeless due to his recklessness is sad but it wouldn't be the first to have happened. We've heard of that story long before Bitcoin existed.

But for the users here who took loans, it will be hard for them to take a loan so big to ruin their lives. None will ever give a loan of more than 1 BTC these days. Nonetheless, it's still risky to have lost a gamble and need to pay and interest.
912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: August 26, 2023, 05:06:12 AM
^
Two huge fighters wanna be thr baddest in the world can only end in a knockout. It will be the biggest upset of the history if we see its Fury lying down the ground.

I will still not be shock if its Fury though. Each of them has the KO punch and now that Ngannou is training with Mike Tyson, we'll see how much can it contribute when its the style of Mike giving Ngannou the edge.

I have already mentioned that Mike Tyson's presence in Francis Ngannou's team is something similar to Steven Seagull's presence in Anderson Silva's training before Anderson's fight vs. another Brazilian. According to Seagull, he was the one who taught Anderson the special front kick move to knockout his opponent. However, this was only done to promote the fight. Anderson did not really need Steven Seagull's teachings hehehehe.

Aikido has nothing to do with kicking but Anderson will always be remembered for how he did it against Belfort. Anderson doesn't need help from Steven, I don't know why Anderson tried training with him when Belfort is no threat to him in any way. But Ngannou against the baddest HW boxer, he certainly needs every bit of strategy.

By how Ngannou will end the fight, it will still be the influence due to the confidence given to the people who trained him whether Mike helped or not, it's still going to give him the confidence.

913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you feeling the old professional bounty managers? on: August 26, 2023, 04:44:04 AM

They got tired of scam tokens already and they don't want their reputation ruined for the scam tokens.
The only bounty that is worth joining for right now are the ones paying BTC and stablecoins while promoting their ICO. They are still here though but they make sure the tokens are escrows to protect themselves from teams who will just walk away any moment.

Strange new bounty managers I see are more interested in newbie accounts. I tried joining a review campaign but he only accepts newbies as observed in his spreadsheets.
914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 26, 2023, 04:33:18 AM
^
Tapales is still a champ which is why Inoue is interested in unifying. Tapales whether he is interested in legacy or not, can demand more cut for himself otherwise Inoue can't build the reputation he wants in this division. Inoue will be willing to give him for the unification to be done.

For Tapales, he certainly will have doubts whether he will win but while he is to think of losing, he might as well just think of making money instead. It's a money grab, if I were him I would even bet for Inoue to make more money and plans to be KO in a particular round.  Grin
915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: August 26, 2023, 04:20:17 AM
more correctly. hope for something that will change fate, but hope too much and believe. it will just self destruct in the end. it could be true, superstition and hope this seems to have become a culture of people who want to have great luck. there is no speculation in such a world there is only ruining the wallet
That's why we can't ask them not to believe in such superstitious things but they still can't because it's a part of their culture that they can't be separated from. Those who believe in superstitions think that what they do can sometimes give them victory because several of them have proven it. So there's nothing to keep them from using superstitious things like that as long as they still want to use them. Well, that's okay too because it's based on what they believe and of course, we don't have to think about things like that because we don't believe it ourselves.
The best thing fo do in this situation is to try as much as possible to avoid gamblers that have such beliefs system because with such a mindset,  he/she may never be able to make any accurate intellectual analysis of the game he is about to bet on and he may even base his games selection based on perceive dream that that will be the winning team even if it clear the team lack what it takes to win such match.

I have never seen anyone that has such belief becoming successful and winning a good amount before, All their predictions always end when I lose and still, yet they keep believing in such tasks as this.

Not sure if they really all rely on the lucky charm, when they gamble they also analyze how to play the game. One famous poker player wears his lucky charm while playing and wins. They do learn strategies. Even players who play luck-based games use a strategy to win.

What I can believe that only his lucky charm made him win is if the player wins a bag with the only money he has in his pocket and is ready to go home when he loses. Like a man who bet in a parlay with just $10.
916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think we need to start asking people if...... on: August 25, 2023, 05:50:37 PM
I think I heard this story not so long ago. I can't remember where it was posted.
Everywhere today is adopting cashless payment and the CBDC in my country has been adopted widely as well. I saw a store that once accepted BTC but they seem to have stopped after the fiat base wallet was introduced.

I wouldn't expect someone who provides services will prefer to be paid in BTC but I'm sure those service provider who knows crypto are proud to put a sticker with the words Accept Bitcoin.
917  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Likely to Approve Several Spot ETFs, Sparking Next Bitcoin Rally: Matrixport on: August 25, 2023, 05:09:18 PM
Not convinced SEC will ever approve an ETF. It will come at the most unexpected time if it ever will come. Blackrock was denied. Its the biggest among the institutions so why would SEC approve a low-level institution. As of this moment, everyone is expecting it to happen. I don't think the SEC or the government will want everyone to be rich.

But they might just approve a year after halving while everyone expects prices to fall to which every one had taken profit already.
918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can money be saved in gambling sites? on: August 25, 2023, 08:47:15 AM

Do you mean saving coins inside a casino wallet?
Even for a non gambler ho puts his coins inside a casino wallet, he will be tempted to bet on something since he will be seeing all the time of the games that will play his mind.

An investor of casino token yet non gambler learnes how the casino work and eventually play. Savings will end up spent in gambling.
919  Economy / Gambling / Re: [ANN] PlayBita.com Crypto Down or Up? Join us ! on: August 25, 2023, 07:56:15 AM
The title made me think its a binary trading platform but it did mention about pool which is seemingly not. The nice part of this game is that the winner sure will get a huge prize every win than in binary game. Well, see how it will go whether many people will join.

Its using Polygon though so the guy above must be right when he says the thread belong somewhere else. Nice looking site though and welcome to bitcointalk.
920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Millionaire Remains Optimistic About DOGE Despite Significant Losses on: August 25, 2023, 06:20:03 AM
Didn't he took any profits from that $3M value during the peak? I bet that he has felt greed during that time and think that there's more to come. Being down a lot from $3M to $50k, I don't know what will happen to me if it's me. But I am going to take profits little by little when I've seen my portfolio earns that much. It's a different thing and I understand him having this major share of his portfolio and that's why he don't want to dump it too quickly and easy. No one knows if it will still recover for the next bull runs but maybe it won't anymore.

You can say greed to a point or he is just as optimistic as a nerd. I have been a doge holder since time before him and had also followed the dogecoin millionaire since he become popular.

When he got some advice from his new found friends, he was just convinced that prices are gonna go up further because of Elon's SNL show. His friends says sell it but the guy wanna cling on his coins. little did he know it was already the start of bears.
